Really great job finding the perfect balance between explaining the technical aspects and what it means to the driver of the truck. The video is neither a tutorial or a sales pitch. It educates a person who needs this upgrade in such a way they they can see the value for their dollars. As always, you both have fun personalities and make the video entertaining as well. You have to have put in a hundred hours plus on this. Enviable talent. Thanks!
How could you NOT think this is a sales pitch? The branding and logo between each segment, the use of ONLY bulletproof parts...it's literally a 31 minute advertisement for Bulletproof Diesel. I'm not attempting to say that the video is trash. I thoroughly enjoyed the content, but let's call it what it is. Even if he wasn't sponsored, this functions the same as an advertisement. It is a sales pitch for sure.
Is it a sales pitch or are they simply explaining what's going on with a company that has the knowledge and parts to address the issues with these engines?
After spending around $5000 bullet proofing mine, the fuel cup on one head cracked, they wanted $8000 to fix. So I did the ultimate bullet proofing, I went out and bought a brand new RAM dually.
RobShutt357 That's Funny...lol I'm Tearing My 1st 04 6 liter Down For Someone. Wow What A Fight full Bitch To Work On For Anything Under The Hood....lol
@@albertrodriguez6539 I hear the 7.3 has its ownset of flaws that make the 6.0 a better choice. Idk myself personally but in the research I've done thus far, that's the conclusion. Does seem like a lot of money to sink in a used truck but ok the other hand, if it makes it where it 'll last 10 more years with just basic maintenance I reckon it wouldbe worth it. Given the cost of a new one anyways.
Excellent video. As a shop owner who works on a tremendous number of these trucks, I don't have much to criticize relating to the video. The tech seems very knowledgeable and efficient. The only item I might mention would be, go easy on that starter. We try to limit crank time to 10-15 seconds, followed by several minutes of cool down. If you would have reached down and touched that starter after the extended crank cycle, it would fry your hand. Be patient, 10-15 seconds crank, cool down and the high pressure oil will build. We also disable injectors while priming a dry system. Excellent video.
@@Garth2011 yeah the problem isn't the fuel . When you disassemble the high pressure oil rails and high pressure oil pump you lose all that oil in the top end. Which is actually quarts. When you put it all back together there is no way to prime the oil and fuel side except crank. But the guy saying to limit the crank time is correct. Not only does the starter get hot, the wires do as well and can burn the insulation right off on extended cranks
I left the glow plugs out put the valve cover on with a couple of bolts hand tight then crank for 20 seconds or so to build oil pressure with no resistance while cranking. Then put the plugs in.
Great video. I'm amazed at their skills and clean shop. Peace of mind can't be beat. And it takes a lot of confidence for a company to open up their shop for y'all to film it and the great explanation for the parts. Thanks again
yep... blew an oil cooler screen, metal shavings in 5/8 injectors and took out my hpop and ipr lol 8 grand later in parts and labour lol had my studded and egr deleted, 5" turbo back exhaust, air intake, 30 hp tow tune, if there is 1 thing to stay on top of people... OIL COOLER**** can prevent so much damage just having oil cooler rebuilt every 100k miles. Maintenance is KEY on any 6.0 lol cheers from canada!
Tech by trade, diesel lover at heart. When the topic of updating Seemore was posted I knew that there were shops all around the country to repair the 6.0 however the difference in the shops ability is as different as McDonald's compared to a fine steak house. The updated parts designed by BPD extend past the normal repair. It shows the owner has done her/his homework and made a commitment to keep the truck. The video is great! I even picked up a few pointers. As a fellow RV person I applaud you're decision to repair Seemore. It is a sound, well thought out decision. People out there reading this will point out the flaws of the 6.0 and say what a hunk of junk the truck is. To each his own, I look at things a bit different and for my money the 6.0 is a bargain. I hope to see many more updates about where to camp/eat/visit and of course Seemore update. Be well
You can pick them up cheap all day long on autotrader and craigslist. As long as you have it in your mindset/budget that you are also going to spend another $3500-$6500 bulletproofing it.
My wife and I had just returned from a weekend in Springfield IL, a thousand mile round trip, and parked my F250 tow vehicle when I was unable to get the shift lever to lock into "Park." Upon inspection it was found that a small screw in the steering column had fallen out and lodged into the shift linkage damaging the neoprene bushings (a common issue with these vehicles). At first I was able to start the truck in Neutral but that quickly failed too and I had to have it towed to the shop to have the column disassembled to replace the damaged parts. So I can relate to your situation with Seemore. While I truly enjoy all of your videos I am most appreciative for all of your tips on safety and preventive maintenance. Keep safe and keep them coming.
I bought my 6.0 L about a year ago and I’m definitely gonna get my pickup bulletproofed your video was great on explaining the process!!! funny thing is I live in Mesa Arizona and never knew these guys were right in my back yard thanks and have a great day 👍👍👍
@@kevindemello4515 yes I did get my pickup bulletproofed it costed me about about $10,000 and with inflation now I guarantee it’s about $15,000 now but I don’t have the pickup anymore because I bought a new 22 Ford F-350 super duty last month
I think it shows more how ridiculous the EPA engine emission standards are. THEY have cause an entire industry to create overly complicated and expensive diesel engines. Meanwhile, how many coal fired plants is China building...
Since your other video made at bulletproof I have called them for advice on both my 6.4 and my brothers 2003 6.0 and tue to their word didn't mind taking 45 minutes with me finding A solution to both problems. The guys name was Brian. Great fellow and a wealth of knowledge. We have decided that when the time comes for either of our trucks to need this kind of care our parts will come from bulletproof. My technician is familiar with them and will gladly install any of their equipment. Thanks for the great work on the videos. Happy travels. Piece of mind is worth its weight in gold.
Thanks for your post, that is great to hear. You know, when I first started researching where to take our truck, I called some very reputable diesel shops and just got voicemail -- even worse, the shops never called me back! But communications with BPD were always great. Something I noticed when at BPD is that they employ several people to man the phones. Also, it seems like most of the employees either personally own a 6.0 and/or have detailed knowledge of Powerstroke engines. I like that you can call them anytime and get advice.
My heart hurt every time Seemore's stiction-y cold starts were featured in a Loloho video! So glad you found a long-term solution to keep keep him on the road. For all the pulling you do, Seemore, we're pulling for you!!! Keep on truckin'!!! 👍👍
Mechanic says about the bypass oil filtration system at 13:47: "It never filters all of the oil, only a small bit of the oil goes through there." I know he knows what he's talking about and what he meant, but for those who don't know about these bypasses it's important to point out that all the oil DOES get circulated through the extra filter eventually. Unlike the main oil filter, though, the bypass can only ingest a little at a time.
You did such an excellent job piecing together footage and narrating through this bullet proofing. I think you've created the best word of mouth recommendation for them than they could ever ask for. I hope they gave you some sort of excellent deal on the costs involved in your bullet proofing job. You certainly earned it.
Jason Jackson buying a brand new truck is completely pointless. Always best to wait till you get them used and even then I'll still hold onto my 13 year old super duty
@@DoctorRickSanchez The same guy that said he can bullet-proof a 6.0L power joke, is the one that gets 25 mpg, hand calculated on all of his fingers and toes.
Thank you so much for this video. Being the owner of a 2004 F-250 diesel I would have to say this is one of the most useful videos I have seen. Just found y’all...vids are great and very informative. Safe travels.
For many years we have been installing Bullet Proof diesel products in our Diesel shop , I could not be happier with the quality of the components. This is a great video that will cut down the time spent explaining to customers how the system works, I love talking to customers anyways but this sure does add icing to the cake. Great job guys! PEPE TORRES, Austin Texas
Just realized you folks were from Alabama. That explains why I like your channel so well. My sister and her family just recently chose to do the full time RVing life style and we've been sharing UA-cam channels with each other that we enjoy watching to learn as much as we can about our travel trailers. I would love to do it full time but with 5 kids it's not going to happen for me....lol. I hope you enjoy your journeys and will be praying for safe and enjoyable travels for you guys!!! Roll Tide!!!
Nice video. A few points not covered in the video are the corrections that need to be made to the high pressure oil pump and oil rails to eliminate future leaks at the oil galley plugs and standoff tubes which account for, from what I've seen, 60% or even more of cold start, no start, rough running, and injector premature failure. The addition of the FICM power supply is good insurance for a known problem with injector longevity. In addition replacement of the gears for the main engine oil pump is a good idea I would have suggested since you already have easy access. Addition of a larger fluid sump for the transmission is a nice touch I would have recommended since you tow. Your truck was slow to start because the technician didn't prefill the engine blocks oil sump for the high pressure injection oil system so he had to crank the engine to get that refilled to make the injectors functional. I'd suggest you do some lubrication maintenance to your locking hubs for the front wheels. Your choice in repair shop is dead on and I'd only recommend two other shops for this caliber service in prematurely correcting problems with the 6 liter power strokes. Your truck should be set to reach 300-500K miles with little aggravation. The 6.0 is a fantastic engine once a few flaws are addressed and while not perfect the European firm that designed it did what they could to create a quality engine regardless of whatever pressures they were put under by International Harvester. ABOVE ALL ELSE keep your filters and fluids serviced and be mindful of your gauges. All you 6.0 owners be sure and fill your engine with the Old API CJ-4 oil as ford doesn't like the New CK-4 and FA-4 oils claiming it will wear your engine faster.
Own 2 6.0 diesels and both have had EGR coolers problems..Thanks for the video, great info and I hope Seemore runs forever as great diesels are designed to do. Sharing your video with my mechanic! Loloho.

I had a 2007 FX4 and just loved it. I never had any issues except for the turbo. It failed at 35,000 miles and the waste gate failed at 44,000 miles. I was heartbroken, when I realized there were no fixes (at the time) to address it. Not to mention, I had paid $50k for a truck with known mechanical issues. I now have a 99 F350 which we have owned for 6 years. 7.3 is hard to beat, and aside of replacing the transmission.... we've got 185,000 miles on her. Great video, and good luck to SEEMORE!
Great video although this was not what I expected. My mind was thinking "bulletproofing your truck" I was thinking sandbags, Armor plates or Kevlar. Hahaha happy camping :-)
coming from a guy with his 07 6.0 currently in the shop, I am totally impressed with your explanation and production value of the video. Awesome job and i hope ceemore is running for a long time to come.
My brother had a King Ranch F350 dually with the 6.0 liter engine. It failed in miserable ways right between the 60k and 80k odometer mark. He sold it, and bought something else, and is much happier. He often said of his truck that it was much nicer to look at than to own.
We have the same truck as you and in 2018 I had a stage 3 done and some other up grades. This is the best thing one can do for a 6.0 PSD, Bullet Proof it. My truck currently has 218,000 miles on it and running strong!
Got to install it. Most every Ford Diesel owner knows what that badge means and there is resale value in that as well. Show it with pride (god knows it costs enough to get one ! )
I personally think that was better money spent than buying a new truck! that was absolutely the best of everything you guys could of ever done to that 6.0...they had so many issues with those engines and you just eliminated all the failure in it. ..beautiful! hopefully it goes 600k! great vids guys keep it up
Sean, great video! Seemore is looking, and sounding good to go for a long time. Those Bulletproofing guys really know their stuff... plus they let you fly the drone inside the shop. ;)
WOW ! As a long time diesel gear head I thoroughly enjoyed your presentation. I think you were wise in upgrading your unit; especially when the price of some of these units are reaching close to 100K. I will consider what your option when it comes time that my 2015 GMC 1 ton Denali reaches that point, With regards, JPD
There are more 6.0 Powerstrokes on the road than any other truck. Great chassis and transmission, and known, fixable issues. Better than a chassis or transmission which has no real solution.
This video should be shown to the damn engineers at Ford Motor Co and then have them correct the darn problems the factory engineers designed into their engines. See what has happened to the resale value of Ford diesel trucks with the 6.0 and 6.4 engines . A 2001 Ford F350 with the 7.3 with higher miles will cost almost twice as much as the newer engined ones. Not good for the future of Ford diesel sales.
Yup, I'm used truck shopping now and a good 70-75% of the ads on craigslist are for Ford 6.0 because nobody wants them. I've seen two 7.3 trucks for over $20k so far with approx 200k miles on them.
Great video, I have a 2006 but you never mention the 64 dollar question, what did it cost do have all this done? I have a rare truck because I only have 21 thousand miles on my King Ranch, however, my sick wife wants to travel the country hauling our lance truck camper. Cost, cost, cost, thanks for sharing such a detail video. There is a man here who specializes in 6.0 , since I live in Ga. close to the Tn line, well, perhaps I should go here.
Sean, thanks for the great video! I pull my Airstream with a 2005 Excursion which is powered by this engine, and you've persuaded me to Bulletproof as soon as I can to prevent future problems. I've been out of the US for the last two months and am just now catching up. You mentioned in the video that you would provide further info on LLH about the costs of bulletproofing. Has that article appeared yet? It appears that you had work done above and beyond the Level 3 upgrades, and I'd be interested in knowing your total cost, if you don't mind sharing. Also, does Bulletproof Diesel provide its customers with any kind of documentation/instructions to be given to any mechanic you may bring your truck to in the future? Thanks again!
I've be around, driving, working on diesel engines all my life. Big and small I've done 'em all! As a die hard 7.3 man (Dad's had 4, Grandfather's had who knows how many) I grew up hearing "The 6.0 is garbage, stay away!!" It's fantastic people are doing the work necessary, to make these engines what they were designed to be. So please, please tell me BPD changes the air cleaner and exhaust to help these engines breath!
Logan Cobb #68 EPA/DOT enforcement is ramping up in all 50 states. Fines are almost $5,000 per tampering event. For service providers the fine is multiplied by 10.
@@MarkMcClure78734 TX and OK don't give a damn. We delete them all the time, and there are no inspections on them. In Texas, Diesel is a Safety Inspection only, there is no engine inspection, and in OK there is no inspection at all.
Michael McClister Sr. Since this EPA/DOT enforcement was brought about by The Clean Air Act and is Federal enforcement is applies to all 50 states. Fines are massive and apply to mechanic shops and vehicle owners.
@@MarkMcClure78734 yea maybe, but I can promise you that most states down south don't look at it. There is this awesome ruling from the Supreme Court that states that Local and State Governments are under no requirement to enforce a federal law, a concept known as "Federalism" aka States' Rights. So the Feds can outlaw whatever they want, as long as vehicle registrations/inspections/etc are done at the state level, it is up to the states to decide what they enforce, and what they don't. In states like Oklahoma where no inspection is made on any vehicle being registered (except inspection to remove "salvage" on a title) there is absolutely NO enforcement of EPA standards by the state. We are free to do whatever we want to our vehicles, gas, and diesel. The ONLY vehicles you ever see inspected on any level are commercial rigs, and generally even then it's only safety and log book inspections. A good friend in my church is an OHP Trooper, so I asked him about it recently. And in Texas, where most of my family lives, Diesel vehicles are only required to pass a "Safety Only" inspection, which is lights, tires, brakes, etc. There is absolutely NO inspection made of the engine compartment or drive train of a diesel on privately owned vehicles. So while the EPA may say it's illegal. Unless they decide to start inspecting on a federal level, states are free to tell them to shove it, and not enforce their policies, regulations and laws. States Rights > Federal encroachment.
Michael McClister Sr. I guess that’s one of those things that works great until it doesn’t. To each his own. I just wouldn’t want to hang my hat on the theory that I probably won’t get checked.
Started with a 7.3 that had 635k miles on it. Sold it running like a champ. Got a 2006 F-350 and started having major issues. Sold it and bought a 03 F-350 with 74k on it, and it's starting to smoke white in the mornings. Even with excellent maintenance, unfortunately, the 6.0 had many engineering flaws. But I would definitely recommend a 7.3 Powerstroke over a 6.0 non- bulletproofed.
Actually it's not a Ford engine it's made by Navistar which is international. Next time you might want to be a little more informed on what you're talking about. But I have a 6.0 and I love it!
I am doing a related project myself, and was glad I watch this all the way through. Mine is a 1993 F350 with a 1994 7.3 IDI. I knew the engine was junk when I bought the truck (the previous owner was starting it with starting fluid) but the body and chassis were flawless, so I gave him $4200 for it. I will be replacing the engine with a re-manufactured (by a great company) 1994 7.3 IDI turbo version, with the head stud upgrade. I will also used the 'bulletproof' oil cooler, and the same oil filter upgrades, a new high pressure injection pump, injectors, injector lines, and everything else. I expect to spend about $8K, and will do all the work myself, but the truck is worth it.
Had Bulletproof do the once over on my F350 last year. Very happy with the craftsmanship. Never had a problem, had the work done as preventative maintenance. Didn't want a crappy Fiat/Dodge truck.
Fix the older trucks especially if you live in an area where you don't see rust the newer trucks you bend over and touch your toes when it comes to repairs. I'm Canadian our prices on new diesel F350 pickup trucks pushing 80 grand who in their right mind will pay 80g for a truck that isn't going to be reliable after the warranty is up. The local dealer has a 2014 and 15 6.7 trucks they are originally 70 grand truck now selling for 40 grand its almost a 10 grand a year depreciation.
My bought new 1999 GMC Sierra Z71 4x4 with only 130K on it still runs great. Hell will freeze over before I buy a new truck for what they are asking for them. I did have to have the trans rebuilt at 100K ( it use to pull a 27' trailer) and the AC dumped shortly there after so I went new install on it. Thousand dollar repairs are way cheaper than a new truck. Aye?? Canook? ;-)
Graveltrucking - Shelling out $80k or course is foolishness, and dealers will not turn away a sucker with cash to burn. But I’m pretty sure the idea manufacturers have in mind is to lease this new garbage at an attractive and stratospheric monthly rate. Then have the customer trade in their partially paid for luxo truck after 36 months, to lease a new luxo truck, thereby continuing the cycle. Through this scheme, new production keeps rolling at the factory, and the dealer network keeps the older trucks in their stock. Where they will be flipped on the “certified pre-owned” market until the end of time, or basically until the dealers have turned the truck into cost-free cash flow.
hope you gave your tech a huge tip.. all the time he took to explain and break down things for you and allowing you to film him too, distracting him from task possibly slowing him down etc etc it was a real nice thing of him to be willing to participate..
What is results in terms of mileage obtainability post bullet proofing -are there trucks out there that have had the procedure done, and have another 180,000+ miles to prove that it’s totally worth it? Also, are the new f250s now equipped with this new design?
Wow. Awesome video. I loved it. I think this was the longest video I’ve watched on UA-cam and I truly enjoyed every minute of it. Great job with the cinematography and the comments were spot on!
Hopefully my injectors are good, that's a lot of $$$. I plan on adding their radiator and doing the manual clutch fan. Otherwise I'll do everything you guys did to Seemore! My mouth dropped when you said that to oil system will now be almost 22 quarts of oil. I'm like I already spent a lot for an oil change, now it will be ridiculous. lol
lol, I will video our first oil change with the new setup. We have about 1000 miles to go until it is due. Heck, the new filters hold a lot of oil themselves - I think the Wix filter alone holds almost 2 quarts! We have the "heavy duty" air-to-oil cooler too that is 20% larger than the standard size. They recommend it for heavy towing applications.
My truck (affectionately named Wheezy due to the black lung the EPA gave her) has been at Bulletproof Diesel all week. I fly to get her soon, long live the 6.0. I hope!
Luis Lopez ever notice...when pricing is asked, there’s never an answer from the UA-cam hosts/people? I suspect, because of the promoting they give -it’s free for them. I’m guessing 🤷♀️
Didn't you want to see how well the tank pulled the Airstream? LOL Who knows, you might be on the cutting edge of a new boondocking fad...tanks for the video! Ha Ha!
Awesome job on the video Sean. The folks and craftsmanship at BPD are truly second to none. Thanks for breaking everything down. I had my 6.0L Excursion Bulletproofed here in Arizona as well, but not by BPD. I went to BPD and got all of the parts and had my diesel mechanic at the time do the install. He did a great job, and for a cheaper price...but he is no longer in business due to poor management of his shop. Hindsight being 20/20, I would have the work done at BPD. I would have paid a little more, but they are also still in business, and will be in business for a long long time. Thanks for the great videos!
Very interesting. A lot to be said for keeping an old truck that is paid for and upgrading it. I got a used MH with 130K miles on it and had a new engine put in it and paid less than 1/3 of what a new MH would have cost me. It runs and looks like a new rig. You will probably get thousands of happy miles on your truck now. Smart choice in my mind.
NATE DOGG the interior is ugly as all hell, no luxury AT ALL, the transmission all blow out relatively easily, the only good thing on the truck is the Cummins motor, everybody knows the dodge truck is a terrible platform
NATE DOGG lol, nice comeback about being a “man” that’s cool you have a stick truck, all stick transmissions are bulletproof. The fact is the majority of trucks on the road are automatic. I’ve got a 6.0 and 6.7 powerstroke, both have nice interiors far superior to a dodge, and their transmissions have held up great. Plowed with them since new. Dodge doesn’t have better interiors at all. The old dash panels would crack and so would door panels etc. dodge has a good diesel motor and even the hemi’s are good, just the dodge truck around it is bad.
I loved watching this! We have an 06 Ford 6.0 3/4 ton super duty. This last weekend we went to Montana (from Idaho) to get a new 31 ft travel trailer. Coming back we had the little wrench indicator light come on and our truck went into limp mode until we pulled over and turned it off. We made it home (yay) but I'm worried about what it could be. I'm taking it to our local mechanic this afternoon to get some tests done. I'll mention to him the bulletproof diesel video that you made. Maybe he'll watch it. love your vids!
Not a gear head but enjoyed this video so much that I sent it to my hubby since he is thinking of getting some preventative maintenance on Big Red our V8 Ford Diesel.
I loved this Video so cool to see Steel replace PLASTIC❗️❌⭕️❌⭕️👍 I know the use of PLASTIC has taken over in many industries and I have always hated it because We are getting RIPPED OFF❗️thank you so much for doing this upgrade to Seymour and we all get the benefit of a GREAT Company. I don't own a truck yet but if it had Seymour's upgrades I'd most likely buy one ☝️
Bought a new 2003 F250 with a 6.0. When I found I'd spent as much as I had paid for the truck on replacing injectors, hpop's and idiot mechanics (yes I especially mean you Ryan) I talked to Diesel Conversion Specialists, ordered a kit and now it's got a 5.9-12V. Works great. Wish I could include a picture.
My 2007 Tundra has about 580 horsepower according to the dino after the superchargers some other nice goodies. Those Ford diesels from those years after 2007 or just pure junk and Ford wouldn't stand behind them. All of bulletproofing in the world and I still have seen them go all over the place scattering parts
Wow. @Terry MacDonald Thank you for that laugh. Point proven. You are talking about horsepower and superchargers! When towing relies on torque, axel ratio, chassis, leaf springs, etc. I don't have the time to explain GVWR, GCWR, GAWR, GTWR, etc. You sound ridiculous. Do some simple research. A Ferrari SF90 pushes 986 horse power. Do you think that car is going to tow anything? Your 2007 tundra has a max tow of 10,300 vs this specific Ford 6.0 is at 13,700. That's a huge difference in the towing world. Clearly you are not towing anything. It's not an argument. Please stay in your lane.
@@jonschutz6459 and it's very obvious that you are a true omnipotent and noologist one defending your company. But I do understand you have to justify what you do for a living, even if it's wrong. We must keep in tune with the fact that we still have those Motors producing an odor that's unacceptable. They pollute in an unacceptable manner much more than the new with more powerful diesels the volumetric efficiency your engine is weak in comparison. Your bullet engine does NOT compare to the newer diesels. And something that you're traveling friends gripe about is the noise polution. What you do not remove its noise pollution. It's much worse than most any generator you can hear in a campground. I have talked extensively with my manufacturer and my truck tows well within the limits. You stand corrected on its ability to tow. Not what you say of 10,300 but 10,500. You should check with Toyota yourself. I've had to many friends with those bullet diesels that have gone bad. I agree to disagree with you.
Whenever you take off the oil rails that supply the injectors with oil, it will take a while to start upon re-assembly. Rebuilt many of these, it's completely normal. Takes the HPOP a while to pressurize the entire rail and all the injectors enough to push fuel in there.
She probably asked to drive the tank and batted those eyes at them and the caved and said sure drive what ever you want. Lol. But another great video and info thanks
The parts look impressive. The engine sounds great. Definitely a better way upgrading your engine and also getting your suspension worked over, ending up getting an old truck that drives like new at a fraction of the price of new. Now if you could get that poor woman some new jeans instead of making her walk around with holes on her knees while you drive a manned out diesel truck.
haha, that would have been fun. You know, I need to do a little more research into the doctrine of Fair Use. I have avoided anything of that nature for fear of my vids getting flagged by a Hollywood studio or UA-cam. But nobody noticed my using the Admiral Ackbar quote in the Marfa vid! That is straight outta Return of the Jedi. :) ua-cam.com/video/zRE7gdnQ_2A/v-deo.htmlm
I could see it now. A team of technicians in white lab coats, surrounding the engine bay of the broken F350. "Gentlemen, we have the technology! We can bulletproof it! We'll make it stronger, faster and able to run forever!" The Six Thousand Dollar Truck! Bulletproof phase one, that is!
I had a 01 f250 with a 7.3 . I paid for that truck twice, once for the title, the second to replace every thing that bolted to the frame. Never a Ford again. 2012 Ram 6.7 delete, 115,000 ! NO PROBLEMS.
5,000 at holders diesel google that company he is known across the world for his work and also his custom in house built injectors Granted that price is without heads but they are inspected and decked so they are true
Says right in the video..to call them for pricing..because you know..pricing is subject to change..because these videos stay up for years and pricing 3 years ago wouldn't be relevant currently
In California they just used the easy button lemon law. As there you can take it back up to 2 years. If it has more then 3 problems in a year! I seen people get a new vehicle using it.
I live in British Columbia and have a 2004 6 litre. I took it to B.C.Diesel in Langley, B.C. were they did pretty well the same upgrades. It was expensive but I had a nice truck that was a boat anchor unless I got it fixed. It cost 8,699.55 in Canadian dollars in 2013, the truck has hauled my 27'trailer with no problems ever since
You've just built yourselves an awesome truck. I really appreciate your video. I've done the same thing with my 2003 Excursion (not before I cracked the block by #7 cylinder), now (a new engine) bullet-proofed. I just had to spend a lot more than you did :) Happy travels.
So I'm gunna point out some things about this that's not so "bullet proof".. 1) the bullet proof ficm is not so bullet proof.. Ive seen 5 of them fail in Washington state alone in the past year. 2) the bpd oil cooler system.. great design on the aluminum housing.. but bad design on filter mounting and external cooler.. if you go offroading in southern California, your filters are gunna leak oil once a rock gets thrown at them.. even on the road I would be scared. also if your sitting in stop and go traffic and its 100 degrees out, that cooler isn't gunna help much unless you have a fan behind it.. you will notice your oil temps climb as soon as the trucks in stop and go traffic especially towing a trailer. another thing about the external oil system is it needs to have a thermostat built in line for the people that live in the snow cold areas. if you think you have sticky injectors now, wait till your oil stays below 30.. heated oil helps lube things better in that motor.
Dang the more I watch and try to learn about problems with the newer Fords Im so happy to see my ugly ass 89 F250 w an IDI sitting there waiting patiently for me to hit the glow plug button and faithfully start up with no smoke, no misses, only occasional problems that thankfully I have been able to repair myself.
Thanks!
EpicCowlick well said!
Is it a sales pitch or are they simply explaining what's going on with a company that has the knowledge and parts to address the issues with these engines?
madeuce71 isn’t that the basic function of a sales pitch?
@@arguy2021 Quit being a negative "Nelly". We know it's entertainment first and promo second.
After spending around $5000 bullet proofing mine, the fuel cup on one head cracked, they wanted $8000 to fix. So I did the ultimate bullet proofing, I went out and bought a brand new RAM dually.

Maybe there is a method to prime the fuel system?
@@Garth2011 yeah the problem isn't the fuel . When you disassemble the high pressure oil rails and high pressure oil pump you lose all that oil in the top end. Which is actually quarts. When you put it all back together there is no way to prime the oil and fuel side except crank. But the guy saying to limit the crank time is correct. Not only does the starter get hot, the wires do as well and can burn the insulation right off on extended cranks
Andrew Bartleman kidney looping the system fixes that issue. And you avoid any debris in the system before you start the engine.
I thought this was an infomercial for BPD.
What a great video you've made. Thanks for showing us what bulletproof is doing. Amazing.
yep... blew an oil cooler screen, metal shavings in 5/8 injectors and took out my hpop and ipr lol 8 grand later in parts and labour lol had my studded and egr deleted, 5" turbo back exhaust, air intake, 30 hp tow tune, if there is 1 thing to stay on top of people...
Be well
22howards totally. best value in diesels bar none !
You can pick them up cheap all day long on autotrader and craigslist. As long as you have it in your mindset/budget that you are also going to spend another $3500-$6500 bulletproofing it.
If the owner he/she did their homework, they would be driving a Dodge Ram with a Cummins diesel.

I'm a motorcycle gearhead and LOVED this vlog. VERY good job in editing it. Seemore is a handsome truck. I'm glad you decided to keep him.
So 2 years later how has Seemore done after the bulletproofing?
There are CK-4 oils rated to Ford's new spec
You have explained this whole process in a way that,is a blend of technical jargon and plain English.Great job.

I have a 2016 F-350 6.7 , but I really enjoyed this video.
Rock on. These are the comments that matter
My brother had a King Ranch F350 dually with the 6.0 liter engine. It failed in miserable ways right between the 60k and 80k odometer mark. He sold it, and bought something else, and is much happier. He often said of his truck that it was much nicer to look at than to own.
Had to watch the whole thing.
We have the same truck as you and in 2018 I had a stage 3 done and some other up grades. This is the best thing one can do for a 6.0 PSD, Bullet Proof it. My truck currently has 218,000 miles on it and running strong!

Did you get the bullet proof badge for your truck? You made a good choice using them. Hope you get 300,000 more miles.
Thanks, did get the badge but haven't installed it yet. We'll be doing some exterior refurb soon (a little paint touch up, etc.).
Got to install it. Most every Ford Diesel owner knows what that badge means and there is resale value in that as well. Show it with pride (god knows it costs enough to get one ! )
Would you install a badge on each side, or 1 badge on the back? I'm giving the truck some exterior TLC over the next few weeks...
I have seen them out here on the tailgate (we live in AZ so we have seen a few). But next to the "Powerstroke" would be cool too.
Weld that badge on, don't want nobody with a screw driver an pry it off.
I personally think that was better money spent than buying a new truck! that was absolutely the best of everything you guys could of ever done to that 6.0...they had so many issues with those engines and you just eliminated all the failure in it. ..beautiful! hopefully it goes 600k! great vids guys keep it up

Boy after watching this video I can't imagine anyone wanting to buy one of these used trucks with this engine in it.
Exactly... Just throwing good money after bad.
There are more 6.0 Powerstrokes on the road than any other truck. Great chassis and transmission, and known, fixable issues. Better than a chassis or transmission which has no real solution.

This video should be shown in the Bulletproof Diesel lobby.
Kevin Thomas does it matter what style???
I have a late 2003 Excursion with the 6.0L Powerstroke and it is a pain in the ass. I have upgraded literally everything.

Stage 3 costs $13,000 and they did even more. So 15k? But I'm sure they got a good deal for making the video

I did the 6.4 oil cooler/filter combo. Very well engineered/manufactured products. Your video was very informative and detailed. Loved it, thanks!
Had to watch the whole vid. . . pretty entertaining, even though I don't have an oil burner !

To bad Ford is such a small company and could not figure out how to make a quality product. Great video
Rick jobs fuck ford
That’s why people who have the right set of mind will go buy a 6.7 powerstroke. Best diesel motor. Hands down
DatClipperFan I like both but Ford all the way. Looks a shit ton better and performs just as good.
NO TRUCK LOOKS GOOD BEING TOWED ON A FLATBED.
Just needs Big Dog heads, inter cooler, and mishmoto rad
+Graveltrucking thanks, I totally agree. The prices on new diesel trucks are jaw dropping!
You can buy a new truck for a hell of a lot less than that. It just depends on the trim level and what you want on it.
hope you gave your tech a huge tip.. all the time he took to explain and break down things for you and allowing you to film him too, distracting him from task possibly slowing him down etc etc it was a real nice thing of him to be willing to participate..
Been waiting for this video for so long!
What brand oil are you going to use? I used Amsoil this last time. Not the cheapest, but supposed to be one of the best.
I think I will probably go with Amsoil also. The BPD guys said good ole Rotella is fine, though.
I started using Rotella T6 in my 6.0s with outstanding results. The engine is much quieter and a slight bump in fuel economy.
My truck (affectionately named Wheezy due to the black lung the EPA gave her) has been at Bulletproof Diesel all week. I fly to get her soon, long live the 6.0. I hope!
How much do they charge for the level 3?
Great video and shop!! Shame though have to do all this for what cost new should be able to drive 300,00 without spending a fortune!!
Best and cheapest bullet proofing I did was buying a 7.3
Mike C yeah but some people don’t wanna be riding on leaf springs while they tow across country. Just sayin
NATE DOGG yeah, the dodge truck is garbage soo
The old dash panels would crack and so would door panels etc. dodge has a good diesel motor and even the hemi’s are good, just the dodge truck around it is bad.
put in Rancho adjustable shocks and it will ride like a caddy
I loved watching this! We have an 06 Ford 6.0 3/4 ton super duty. This last weekend we went to Montana (from Idaho) to get a new 31 ft travel trailer. Coming back we had the little wrench indicator light come on and our truck went into limp mode until we pulled over and turned it off.
We made it home (yay) but I'm worried about what it could be. I'm taking it to our local mechanic this afternoon to get some tests done. I'll mention to him the bulletproof diesel video that you made. Maybe he'll watch it.
love your vids!
I watched every second I liked it ty for the vid I subscribed👌
I also decided to bullet proof my towing vehicle, so I bought a Tundra.
"Tundra for towing" said NO ONE EVER!
@@2tmacisback I LITERALLY have NO idea what you are talking about. 🤣 Get a hobby. Learn a skill and most of all, have fun with your Tundra. 👍🏻
I really liked how you did this video. It was very good information and your mechanic seemed like an awesome guy.
I’m glad you guys got Seymour fixed and out there running!
Another great video, by the way, but I think you missed an opportunity by not incorporating the opening of the Six Million Dollar Man TV show.
haha, that would have been fun.
Great job explaining the all the procedures. Hope Seemore has many happy miles in front of him!
$13,000 for a Stage 3 Bullet Proofing. It's a bit over priced. Lol.
Extremely. Mines going in for bulletproofing soon and it's gonna run about 6k.
For 13k I would buy another truck with the 7.3. I love mine 01 f3504x4 crew cab no issues
Id hope if I was paying 13 k that it would stop some bullets
I had a 01 f250 with a 7.3 . I paid for that truck twice, once for the title, the second to replace every thing that bolted to the frame. Never a Ford again. 2012 Ram 6.7 delete, 115,000 ! NO PROBLEMS.
5,000 at holders diesel google that company he is known across the world for his work and also his custom in house built injectors
Granted that price is without heads but they are inspected and decked so they are true
We use bypass filtration in glycol dehydrators to reduce any polymers and thermal degradation products in the glycol.
Can't be truly detailed without a price🤦🏿♂️
Says right in the video..to call them for pricing..because you know..pricing is subject to change..because these videos stay up for years and pricing 3 years ago wouldn't be relevant currently
YES! The long awaited Seemore update! It was all my 6.0 and I hoped it to be. Well done. Thanks
Ford Motor Co. paid the total cost, right? ;^)
In California they just used the easy button lemon law. As there you can take it back up to 2 years. If it has more then 3 problems in a year! I seen people get a new vehicle using it.
You mean International right, Ford didn't build the 6.0L
I live in British Columbia and have a 2004 6 litre. I took it to B.C.Diesel in Langley, B.C. were they did pretty well the same upgrades. It was expensive but I had a nice truck that was a boat anchor unless I got it fixed. It cost 8,699.55 in Canadian dollars in 2013, the truck has hauled my 27'trailer with no problems ever since
Toyota Baby!!!
I’m a Toyota guy but the tundras frame is weak af
6.0Doctor u
6.0Doctor he oil cooler is placed in front of rad? The fan will be pulling air
I like ugly ass trucks that are reliable. Reliability is beautiful...
