Retired 40 year master tech here, your knowledge, patience, and ability to explain what really goes into quality repair work is exceptional. Bravo young man!!
These are some of the best 6.0 videos I have seen since diesel tech Ron……keep on doing what you are doing-too many folks time lapse or jump around too quickly. I will be getting a 6.0 350 soon and getting it fixed up to pull a camper for retirement. Feel free to put out what ever content you want-I’ll keep watching.
Earned yourself a subscribe with this one. I’m currently going into my first 6.0 cab removal and your video was super informative and I’ll be trying my hand at it soon. Seeing it done definitely puts me more at ease
So glad I subscribed. I have not done this yet and no plans to, but still watched this entire video cause its so informative and interesting. Makes me wanna build a shop now! lol
This video and your other 6.0 videos gave me the confidence and knowledge i needed to ressurect my truck from the grave AND swap cabs in my backyard. I'm nowhere close to done, but ive been making progress thanks to you. You take your time and explain everything, not going to fast or too slow. Really reminds me of DTR like others have said. Also really appreciate that you realize not everyone has Snap-On money and talk about secondary ways to do certain things like the ebrake cable or engine fan. Now i just need you to drop a video on how to put it all back together haha
So glad to hear this! It makes me happy people are feeling confident enough to dive into their trucks and not pay outrageous shop bills. I will make a video soon on the truck back together!
just ordered the Ipr coolant filter and Manifold you recommended I'm excited. any recommendations for finding the original oil cooler everywhere just has the updated part number. might have to go with one of those and hope the IPR filter can keep it alive@@Atomic_Diesel
I have a 2001 7.3 f350 that got rolled, about to pick up a new cab for it and was curious how different those cabs are compared to the 6.0 body style cabs for removal? I appreciate the taking your time showing everything as you go, not many videos are as detailed and informational as this
From 1 shop owner to another, Invest in a Tite-Reach and you can zip those bolts that are in front of the rear seats out with an Impact, Total game changer
Great video, definitely subscribed. I live up north and I know you said if the cab corners are rotted, (which mine are) you loose that seam as a lift point. I am welding new cab corners, inside and outside rockers. After all new, would you be comfortable using that as a lift point again. If not what's my other option for a lift point.
Yes as long as it was done right. I’ve lifted a few northern cabs that were made of bondo in the corners and they just crush as soon as you lift the cab.
I have an 06 F250 with the 6.0, I’d like to do a coolant flush, I believe you mentioned caterpillar coolant, I see different part numbers on the coolant jugs, do you have a part number that I can reference? I also have a 77 f150 4x4 that I’ve owned for 37 years, so much easier to work on lol, I have much respect for you, it’s great to see a young person taking pride in his work and his shop, thank you so much for your videos 👍😁
@@Atomic_Diesel back in the early 80s I went through diesel school working on the big rigs, while in the military I was hurt pretty bad and working on cars and trucks have become more difficult, I’m 60 now and still do what I can, I’m super anal about who works on my cars and trucks but if we lived closer I would have absolutely no problem having you do the work, thank you for your reply 😊
@@Atomic_Diesel I have an 02 super duty, ext cab long bed. 64k miles.. but has some rust. Previous owner did a good job hiding it. My plan is to remove the bed first, sand and rhinoline under the bed.. clean/paint frame etc.. and tackle under the cab last.
Great videos! As a 6.0 owner I find em very informative. You made the cab removal look easy, and quick….. heck I shoulda removed the cab when I replaced my clutch a few weeks ago! 😂 j/k. I see you have Schaeffer’s on the shelf. What are your thoughts on that. Saw some guys talk about lead ppm being high from lab tests on FTE. Been using it myself and sending samples to Blackstone.
Remove the cab for everything lol! And love Schaeffers, mostly use it because when we install big injectors they require it, but I’ve tore down two of my personal 6.0 engines that strictly ran it and everything looked brand new internally. Thank you for your comment!
I make custom AN lines for it because you won’t retain the frame filter. But you’ll have to have a Mishimoto cooler for the conversion fittings to work.
You’re welcome! I’m referring to your trans cooler though. You will bypass the radiator and both trans lines will just go straight from the trans to the cooler.
So it takes 6 minutes before we get any useful information at all. Do you really need to show your difficulty in spotting the truck on the lift? Nope. Please take this as constructive criticism to improve your UA-cam presence.
Brother I do this UA-cam stuff because I enjoy it on my free time. If you don’t like it, it’s no problem find another video. My UA-cam “presence” doesn’t make a bit of difference to me. I’m just doing it for fun. Appreciate your input though!

New sub, lot of videos I’ll be catching up on. 6.0 owner working on most of it myself

Thank you for watching! Cabs are almost the same. Only serious difference will be in the engine bay.
been here since your 6.0 oil cooler video 💪🏼 keep up the good work

I was having a rough go at it today and your words really lifted my spirits, thank you for that! The part number for the coolant is 238-8648

Great video and content...how long from start to finish did it take to actually get the cab off of the chassis?
If you’ve never done one before usually it’ll take about a day of work. If I really hustle I can have one off in about an hour.
great video thanks !
So glad i found your channel about to attempt my headgaskets. Is there a way to reach you besides on here?
You can reach me on here, Instagram and Facebook! Hope the videos help you on your job!
Film a detailed 7.3 cab removal next time you do it! Awesome video. I was hoping for some time lapse, but then again, you have to show the process.
Do you want to see a OBS or Super Duty cab?

When you convert over to the 6.4 filter and pan and the delete the other trans filter are you using custom trans lines or 6.4 line?
I make custom AN lines for it because you won’t retain the frame filter. But you’ll have to have a Mishimoto cooler for the conversion fittings to work.
@Atomic_Diesel okay thank you very much
Would it work with a banks cooler?
You’re welcome! I’m referring to your trans cooler though. You will bypass the radiator and both trans lines will just go straight from the trans to the cooler.
@Atomic_Diesel okay that makes sense thank you.
How much would a cab swap coast at a shop ?
As in swapping two cabs off two separate trucks?
@@Atomic_Diesel as I have a truck with a bad cab but I have a good cab I am trying to put on it
How much is a headstud dog on a 60?
It can range very wide. 6-10k if you do injectors or need heads.
Is that rebar has a ladder bar on the rear end.ha😂
crooks
