Awesome! Another Band Director who like technology! Fun! So good to see a real person FINALLY reviewing these! Make a video about how you use this In rehearsal!
I love tech! I've always been into tech, it's part of the reason this channel has been such a blast to make! I'd make a rehearsal video, but I want to keep my work separate from my channel 😂.
That's awesome, cool of you to check out my video! Thanks again for sending me the clarii, it's a ton of fun to play and my students are super curious about it when they see it :)
I have the Akai EWI USB EWI-USB its great for silent (headphone) practice I have mine setup to flute fingering (close) Shame about charging extra for more voices, bit of a cheap trick to con parents into paying extra. Interesting review 2x👍
I am still not seeing anything sword-like, where's my promised sword? Alright keep watching, but there better be a sword. 😂😂😂😅 Edit: found the sword doesn't really feel like the sword I was hoping for.
I don't think a Bluetooth connection is going to be good enough to perform tho. if that technology existed bands would justbbe monitoring via Bluetooth a lot time ago.
Video is 44 minutes long, been out for 22 minutes, and people are already hating on it lol. To be fair, calling an "EWI" an "instrument" at all is kind of a stretch in my opinion. Theramin and Stylophone, while also like computers, require an input to make any sound, and cannot play pre-recorded things. If this can play things without any input, it's not really an instrument anymore, it's a Recorder-shaped MiDi controller. Edit: Typo
I had a college friend play a John Cage piece in college where he mic'd a cactus... Everything can be an instrument 😂 to be fair though, this isn't unlike an electric piano where the sounds are "in it" but still need user input to bring them to life. I don't have any problem with crazy new age stuff, if I can make it sound cool I'm all for it.
@@MadMusicBand Fair enough, I guess we just agree to disagree on what our definition of an “instrument” is. I’d say MiDi devices don’t count, but since someone playing on a Midi controller keyboard could ALSO easily play a real piano (as soon as they get adjusted to the action), I’d also say that they can “play an instrument.” With this device though, it doesn’t seem like it teaches you ANY of the skills necessary to create a decent sound with a real wind instrument, beside basic fingerings (that are apparently adjustable, so even saying that is a stretch)
I had no real thoughts until I wanted something to make transposing on the fly easier mid rehearsal, which was all I needed to see how nice they could be.

I’m going to fine tune the shaker by myself, and get back to you. Coz I’m the founder of Robkoo.

Ngl the clarimini sounds like clarinet…..WHICH IM GETTING IN TWO DAYS
W
Congrats! Have fun with it :) 🎉
I have one
My favorite part of my day is when you post
Edit: I liked this video, and I have been subbed since around 500 subs!
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoy them. It wasn't that long ago that I was at 500 subs 😂
@@MadMusicBand😂😂 I have no idea when I subbed 🤣

Nice, I've heard good things about the Akai EWIs. Some day I'm sure I'll be able to try out one of the more expensive ones, they look really fun :)
I had no idea electronic wind instruments existed. Good for midi I guess
Yup, that's probably going to be one of my most common uses.
Im still active here lol and have seen you grow 2k subs, hopefully more!
Thanks for sticking around!
Now I know when to use the Kungfu preset. It's when the EWI is full of saliva. You know? You need to clean and get rid of the water fast. 😂
Ha! I didn't even think of the rain shower I probably caused 😂
Yay a wind synth video
It sounds like you can play savage love on it
Good video!
Thanks Ken :)
Theres a piece called Sword and the Crown. Maybe you can add Sword effects there 😅
Ha! Maybe that'll have to be on the spring concert this year ;)
Wicked❤❤❤
A good video. It seems to have a lot of similarities to my WX5 only more modern.
How have you liked your wx5? I'm fairly new to the EWI scene so I've only tried my roland and the Clarii so far.
You should definitely check out the nuvo jsax
I actually talk a bit about mine in the Japan video :)

Rain stock... 😂😂😂 Yes... Sure...😂
Sup man I loveu

It was good enough for my rehearsal last week, but I agree about performance. Bluetooth as a technology isn't consistent or fast enough for that.

@@bigpapi1860 it's definitely not a replacement, for sure.
Alto saxophone
Speak less e play more.
Band directors love a good tangent ;)
i never really liked the concept of electronic wind instruments, tbh

Monthly fees, no thanks.
And DLCs…yikes.
Plus, no notes, just fingering…this is a super expensive toy.
I'm not a huge fan either, but I'll just pretend those paid sounds don't exist.
