I don't know about anyone else, but I'm always perfectly remembering things I said in the spur of the moment 30 years ago and repeating them to strangers with unearned dramatic reverence.
In an attempt to connect with me as a child, my mum once said she’d rent from our local video shop ‘that Batman film you like with Micheal Carton in it.’ Bless her.
Thanks Duncan and Richard, always happy to see the boys pop up on my feed. Agree with Duncan regarding so much; corporate interference, memberberries and catering to the obnoxiously loud “fans” on twitter is a major mistake and eventually the masses will tune out and turn away cause they don’t want a compromised product that feeds into a larger narrative that not everyone has the time or inclination to get invested in.
I hope it's like Picard season 3: a hugely popular final installment to a series that heretofore has absolutely failed at every turn, starkly highlighting the fact that the people at the very top are numpties who have no idea what the public wants.
In DC's case, the Snyder fans are very vocal about liking his films even though the general public don't seem to agree [even campaigning for him to carry on his series with Netflix which has no hope for happeningg due rights issues].
Maybe I'm alone but I think its looks utter garbage. And in a tacky way, they are just trying to sell this turd on the "LOOK EVERYONE.... OLD BATMAN IS BACK!!" angle. Urgh. Skipped!
I’m a firm believer that people don’t actually want something new just something familiar with a new coat of paint. I keep hearing that people are sick of superhero blockbusters and something like avatar or this comes around which has all the problems of cgi drenched setpieces a everyone acts likes it’s the second coming.
Apparantly the intent of bringing Michael Keaton back as Batman [he was also planned to be in the cancelled Batgirl film in a cameo] was for him to be a Nick Fury figure for the DC films...the fact this occurred nearly 10 years and after several films underlines the bad planning of this series and why it's probably for the best to start again.
Probably will never happen but given the original DCU is coming to an end, I'd love to see a 'warts and all' book or a film documentary on it and the many troubled productions and behind the scenes issues [like the Rock trying to take it over with Henry Cavill only for both to be out weeks later].
It makes no sense for batman to ever again say the "let's get nuts" line. In the 1989 movie, he says it to the joker as a part of his shtick to appear like a bit of an idiot, and definitely not batman. I really liked keatons Bruce Wayne because he always came off as slightly odd, and not the kind of guy you'd ever suspect to be a masked detective / vigilante.
Every generation has a favourite Batman although Keaton transcends that. It will appeal to Keaton’s fans and hopefully demonstrate that Batman doesn’t sound like a wrestler like Bale did 🥳.
I enjoy the contrast between Rich and Duncan’s set ups. Duncan went for “online seminar on independent filmmaking” and Rich went for “floating head in the void”
I think the best way to save the Flash film is to make it so every tine a character says the word "flash", there's a faint, barely audible, "AAAHHH-AAAaaaahhhhh" in the background, and no character acknowledges it.
The reason why the actor change for Henry Allen went from Billy Crudup to Ron Livingston was due to Crudup not make film his scenes due to shooting an Apple TV show at the same time. WB had to do a quick recast.
I’m conflicted. I really want to see Keaton again as Batman, but I’m worried that they’re gonna do him dirty. Then there’s the whole Ezra Miller situation… WB are clearly aware of the immense desire by people wanting to see Keaton’s Batman again, why not greenlight a third Tim Burton/Keaton Batman movie and release it under their new Elseworlds banner?
Apparently they were going to do a 'Batman Beyond' movie [which would make sense given Keaton's age] inside the DC universe, maybe even including Michelle Pfeiffer's Catwoman but of course that is now up in the air. Burton doesn't seem to be involved in any form [and his recent track record in films isn't too inspiring].
The film could do quite well but I don't think it'll do huge business. General audiences won't particularly care about The Flash or Supergirl. And most of Keaton's fans are of the older movie geek variety. (He is great though of course). Then again maybe it'll do really well 🤷
I think word of mouth will play a huge part [like how Batman V Superman fell hard in week 2 when word spread it wasn't great]. If for example it turns out Keaton is just an extended cameo business could drop off quickly but if people rave a more general audience will give it a shot.
Wow, this working lark really cuts into your social life ay? Sorry I missed the live chat, some other time. Great video chaps. I'm going to wait for this to come out on video, I've got a case of super hero lethargy.
Not that it's by any means better than a Hollywood blockbuster, but my brother and I recently made a short film called Space Tourist that features an alien eating a meal deal: ua-cam.com/video/6BoUSUA_f_Y/v-deo.html It's something you DEFINITELY won't see in The Flash, so there is that. Haha. Hope you're both well, guys. Really enjoyed this!
I have low expectations for this film, because I have noticed quite a few blockbuster films recent that dealt with member berry elements so this is why I’m basically like ok… but on the other hand it could be entertaining but I’m more into story.
Nice to see you lads back. I've never really liked the Burton films and will wait to pirate this as I don't want to support Miller. It matters to me. As for I'm Batman and Wanma get nuts, does it seem all films now aim for the meme crowd? Like it has to have stuff in it that will become memes? I hate it.
I don't know about anyone else, but I'm always perfectly remembering things I said in the spur of the moment 30 years ago and repeating them to strangers with unearned dramatic reverence.

My theory is when Keaton says "You wanna get nuts?" they open a Snickers 4-pack.
Or a pack of honey roasted.

There is a DISTINCT lack of Sam J. Jones in this trailer.
Is Richard intending to do a video on Picard Season 3?
Flash's mom is also named Martha so that's why 89 Batman agrees to help The Flash That Nobody Likes.
Probably will never happen but given the original DCU is coming to an end, I'd love to see a 'warts and all' book or a film documentary on it and the many troubled productions and behind the scenes issues [like the Rock trying to take it over with Henry Cavill only for both to be out weeks later].
There's probably a "the rise and fall of the DCEU" video essay on UA-cam somewhere.
We need urbans Dredd to pop into the universe and kick batman's head in as he searches for the stallone Dredds mean machine
Now THAT is a plan!
It’s got Ezra Miller, so it’s really a groomer movie
Ok Groomer.
That part in the trailer when the Flash eyes his younger kid self as he runs past😬
It makes no sense for batman to ever again say the "let's get nuts" line. I think this could be surprisingly really great or surprisingly really bad. I can't see a middle ground.
Every generation has a favourite Batman although Keaton transcends that. It will appeal to Keaton’s fans and hopefully demonstrate that Batman doesn’t sound like a wrestler like Bale did 🥳.

Richard as Holly in Red Dwarf: The Next Generation?
You're giving me ideas now - DC
The only bit of the trailer I didn’t like was the lets get nuts line, it’s too forced but I liked everything else.
Yeah, totally agree. It felt like a back-slapping, writers' room decision that NOBODY asked for - DC
@@ValVerdeBroadcasting I wonder if Keaton sighed after the director said cut?!
@@ValVerdeBroadcasting 100%
it looks like it's both a MK film and a Flash film rolled into one.😀🤔🤨
Gotta be honest, all the zod / supergirl / blowy-uppy fight in the desert stuff just looked like a video game.
I think the best way to save the Flash film is to make it so every tine a character says the word "flash", there's a faint, barely audible, "AAAHHH-AAAaaaahhhhh" in the background, and no character acknowledges it.
KING OF THE IMPOSSIBLE!!!
Thank you
No...thank you

They've just announced Burton and Keaton are doing Beetlejuice 2 together...
The boys are back in town again.
Always love a trailer discussion, looking forward to the film if only for Michael Keaton and Sasha Calle as Supergirl is my favourite character.
Just occurred to me. Instead of a cameo by Christian Bale, have Joseph Gordon Levitt.
The trailer was cringe as all Hell. Passing this one up. We have to let go of the past be constantly wallowing in the past.
Haven't you learned yet? Never look forward to anything.
I saw the trailer and the CGI looks more rubbery than a Goodyear, on the bright side Evil Dead Rise was excellent.
More of a Continental man myself ;-)
UA-cam finally reminded I had subscribed to your channel , I think its been a year since y'all been in my feed
Well, we're grateful that we're showing up for you again. I suspect it's probably the subject matter that did it this time - DC

This wasn’t a live chat. You didn’t miss anything Sam, don’t worry 👍 - DC

Thank you Stan. Will check it out 👍 - DC
Thanks, Duncan! You don't have to. It was just a shameless plug hopelessly masquerading as a self-effacing joke. Haha.
I've been quite burnt out by superhero films ever since End Game, but this new Flash film has peaked my interest a little.
Same
I think a lot of us are in that boat - DC
Great to hear your thoughts would love to know what you think of Picard s3 Richard a long Next gen final movie that delivers imo

Señor Rapido. As they say in Mexico.
Closing credits score? Why is that so familiar but I can't quite remember where it's from. Top chat guys!
Streets of Rage 2 OST, my old fallback!
