    • @edwardblair4096
      @edwardblair4096 Рік тому +45

You need some sort of communication between the composers in order to make it work. Like for the first two measures, the second part is told what the first note of the first two measures are. Then for the next two measures the second part shares with the first part the first note of each measure.
Other than the key and time signature, no other info. This includes the duration of the note shared. It's up to the other composer to decide whether to make a consonance or dissidence on that note.
It would probably also be a good idea to select a mood or tempo as an artistic prompt.

    • @edwardblair4096
      @edwardblair4096 Рік тому +16

So the procedure is first part write 2 measures and share the first notes of each measure. Then the second part composes 4 measures using the notes given from the first as a guide, and then shares with the first part the first two notes of the 3rd and 4th measures. Repeat as desired.

Eddy, on the other hand, actually thinks about what he is doing and it always comes out beautifully. I would like to see you guys write a multi-movemnt piece for two violins (it does not have to be long) and Eddy can write the first movement, Brett can write the final movement, and you guys can work together in the second.

    A belated birthday poem:
    Dear Eddy (or Michael? ;-))
    30 years, what a joy!
It's been long now, since you were a little boy
You guys let us all enjoy
The wonderful art of classical music, without to annoy
Except you and your perfect pitch
That can sometimes really be a b*tch
    But I'm kidding of course
You guys are determined, you're a source
For everyone, who wants to dive in
Into how the heck to play the violin
For this you produced a stunning album
And a short film, which made our hearts go boom!
    You changed into different outfits
There was Beethoven and Tschaik with his wits
But also Bach, the genius composer
He for sure, wasn't just a poser
But that wasn't all, oh not at all
Paganini, the devil's violinist, came in fall
To take on the K-pop group Black Pink
And thus anger all the Blinks
La Campanella is for sure, your piece
And the ring of your bell didn't cease
You played it again, after Brett's Mendi
And the Bach double, the second movement sweet like candy
    Everyone admired your courage
To play it as an encore, what a savage!
And then, there was another dress up
During the fierce instrument battle against the guy who says "What's up!"
    Our queen Edwina came
On stage to save violin-chan with her flame
    Her beauty and magnificent playing
You captured everone's heart, that goes without saying
We can't wait for whatever you guys are planning
And we wish you, Eddy, God's richest blessing
    For your thirtiest birthday!
    Hooray!!!

One minute or two minutes are so short that they can just write down appearing directly in their minds. Swapping is just like to expose what in mind without any disguise to the other. Guys, writing an overture in the morning of a performance is not as hard as you think. Remember its just coping music from the opera that he as already written into a summary. You were having problems coming up with ideas. He already had all of the ideas already done, and now had to combine them into one final thought. Think about taking your top 10 favorite musical excerpts and remixing them into one killer overture. The orchestration, melodies, harmonies, textures, and dynamics have already been done, now its just combining ideas and working on transitions, and maybe adjusting keys to make it all fit. Knowing Mozart, he wrote the Opera in a way that the keys world already work together. Its more of an arrangement exercise than composing. Mozart probably already had a blue print on where things went before he wrote it down.

    Eddy’s compo was actually nice!
Also, I think that what I like best about TSV now, is Brett screeching at the start of every video! Please don’t stop 😂♥️

That was an interesting challenge! Making a composition is not easy but it was fun and educational to watch nonetheless. Makes me even more appreciative of the pieces I love and those that are still to be discovered! ❤

I have really liked violin and classical music and your channel, but I was kind of in a shallow burn-out lately after quitting lessons. I saw some shorts videos of your fan channels, and searched this channel in I guess at least some months. Watching this video and another one reminded me about the passion I used to have about the violin. Thank you! Now I am motivated to practice😀

I wasn't expecting the C# minor and 5/4 composition to be the better sounding one

Even more INTERESTING than AD! But seriously--great job, and always fun to watch the process. As a composer (and one who writes quickly) I appreciate you sharing the work and putting yourselves out there!

Tip for the future: “Don't think. Just do.” there is absolutely no way you can make a monstrosity. You just need to trust your intuition.
