As a pianist, you get to sit in a lot of lessons for other instruments when you’re accompanying them, and it’s surprising how much you can pick up.
Alex was amazing in another TwoSet game where he very quickly recognized pieces that were garbled. He’s amazing.

Btw guys in case you didn’t know, Kang the opera singer is considered by all measures someone who has “made it” as a soloist performer. He has performed lead tenor roles with many opera houses in Europe and US, and led many shows with Opera Australia. He was in the final of Cardiff Singer of the World competition (one of the major opera singer competitions), and a member of Metropolitan Opera’s young artist program.

Many people don't realise that Brett and Eddy's musician friends are all accomplished and successful in their field. Just because they enjoy fooling around on UA-cam doesn't mean they're clowns. It just shows that most classical musicians aren't arrogant elitist pricks, they like to have fun like everyone else.
(There definitely are elitist pricks in the classical world, like in every field, but it's not the majority. And Brett and Eddy wouldn't be friends with such people anyway.)
Alex studied at the same music uni as TwoSet, him and Brett graduated the same year with honors. He's performed all over the world and has been the Artistic Director of a music festival for years.
Same for Phoebe who has been the Principal Double Bass in several orchestras.
Same for Hyung (their other cellist friend) who studied at Julliard and used to work with Brett in the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.
Same for Georgii (one of their violinist friends) who won the Grumiaux Competition and is a contestant for the Queen Elisabeth Competition this year.
And I could go on and on and on...
TwoSet's filming schedule has got to be so hectic!
It feels like they're doing a thousand things a week.

@@xandraxandra1437 I don't think their filming schedule made him sick before, I think he tried to convince himself he wasn't sick so he could keep filming. After that experience, I doubt either one of them will ignore even the slightest symptoms of illness.

It should've been written Ab minor because of all those F double sharps, which would become Gs.

They should have played something by Gershwin on their actual instruments at the end of this video.

"Bet you can't play this (piece) on the violin" with TwoSet trying to repeat what everyone played on their own instrument. Eddy perhaps relying only on his perfect pitch, Brett supported with sheet music to be fair.
Kang Wang is a pretty good opera singer.

I’m actually surprised that “paper scissor rock” divide the teams well. So that both of the teams’ levels are relatively similar, they all have a strong , medium, and weak player, which makes the game pretty fair. Imagine Alex, Minjin, and Phoebe get into the same team 😂
Not really. Team Brett did have quite an advantage. Team Brett had one string player, one piano player who knew enough about violin to reproduce pitches and one player who could at least somewhat hold the bow and produce notes somewhat around the right ones. Team Eddy had one string player and two players who had absolutely no idea how to hold the instrument.

This was not set up as totally random. Smart as they are, Brett and Eddy put, what they thought were equally level musicians, against each other. So there was one string player, one string (but harp or pianist), and one other. Teacher trick. Make it look totally random but actually it's not :)

@Sankalp Gupta His most famous piece is undoubtedly Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 which is his original composition. It's his. I don't think La campanella is 'his' most famous piece.
@@jrexx2841 he also did write the piano piece la Campanella, didn’t he? Using the composition of someone else doesn’t make it their composition, does it? Especially when the feel is so different. Feels like it would be wrong to say it’s “by Paganini.” I usually hear “Paganini-Liszt, or just “Liszt.” It’s not like it’s a straight transcription. I’m not as familiar with the violin concerto movement as I am with the Liszt piece though, so I may be wrong here about how much is musically borrowed…
@@pookz3067 I don't know either but when we talk about original composition, it's definitely not Lizst's. The way I think of it is Lizst's La campanella is merely a version or a cover of Paganini's, not a variation or inspiration piece.

I was having a bad day..this made me laugh, thank you. Minjin is really good at recognizing the pieces, Phoebe did great and although Alex only played for a year he has great potential in being a violinist as well. Also, even though Emma, Tijana and Kang were struggling I love how they really get out of their comfort zone and try their best! Watching all this was very wholesome :')
Twoset just outdid themselves again with their creativity - LOVE THIS GAME! And shoutout to their musicians friends for being so sporting:)!

I think the reason both groups wound up sounding like Gershwin is that jazz can have neutral thirds and they mistook poor intonation for that

yay for tenors. I wondered what instrument he played. he didn't seem to have the extreme chaotic energy of previous singers in this channel.
Brett's team should've noted the quick glissando and the descending steps in La Campanella, but they'd taken the opposite from that! Eddy strategy at the end to recognise the first few notes could be good in simpler pieces, but for Scheherazade, it really comes down to noting the quickly descending and then ascending scale after the legato at the start. Also, the last note being the same as the first really gives a clue! This was so much fun!
Yeah, I laughed so much. And you're right, they might have guessed right if their strategy had been reversed for the last piece. But they went for what worked in the past as any team would.

Had that experience… this channel really portrays the feeling to learn violin to some people who expect the result in a very short period.
I had to study Eine Kleine for my History 9 online exam a few months ago. Because there was a listening portion, I had to listen ON REPEAT EVERYDAY and ANALYZE EACH MVT EVERY DAY.
Needless to say, my ears exploded again.

This is a phenomenal idea even if it were their main instruments (though it wouldn't be funny since they'd likely know every piece and play them perfectly), but even when it went so badly wrong they still somehow guessed correctly? That's crazy.
I've also had an idea how you could do this on main instruments - everyone has noise cancelling headphones in and you have to play based on what you think the other person played just by watching them. Like maybe Eddie has perfect pitch and could hear it in his head from watching a violin, but could he do the same watching saxophone fingering? It would also be more pleasant to listen to...

they were looking at the fingerings and memorizing it
They've heard the pieces before bc who hasn't. They know notes and can basic tones and shit. Some play string instruments and know how strings work better, they also look at their fingers and how they move the sthick.
The cello is very similar to the violin so I think the cello player had a huge advantage
