  • This a Set-up video...out of the box-airborne, using Spektrum DX9/IKON2 flight controller with the included Align speed control. It went a bit long but had to cover what I did to set it for a day at the field. I still need to put the heli on a perfectly level surface and tune the flight controller but its "tabletop" set-up and flying! Below are links to the expanded videos I have used to learn this process.

    Just a thought...
    Flip the battery up-side-down, from what you have in the video.
    That moves the wires up into the center/nose of the canopy, where there's more room for it.
    It should then fit, in the original grommet holes on the canopy.
    You get more 'real estate' that way.

      I’ll try that…thank you. These aren’t factory batteries, they’re shape is different. I’ll give it a try…I have loaded 2x 6s packs into a 650 without a problem, but I’ll try that. Thanks for checking out the good channel :)

      @@rcflightz2058 Your welcome.
      And i'm checking out the 300x, for our indoor flight season.
      Fall has set in, and in Denmark, we start to move indoors now.
      My 500x will still have some air time, when the weather will allow it.
      And by the way, nice videos you have.
      i will for sure subscribe.
      Fly safe.

      @@x3mperformace the 300x isn’t a bad option…but it does have carbon fiber blades…on a high skill level limited basis it could be a good option. My first thought is the plastic bladed blade fusion 180. But the 300 would be good for seasoned pilots. Best wishes.

      @@rcflightz2058 I've had some Blade helis before, and they seems a bit 'Plastic'y' for my taste.
      And i have had a lot of helicopters the last 10 years.
      All from Nine Eagles through Align 250, 450, a LYNX prototype (I was a team pilot at them) a 600 and a Goblin 700.
      So i think i'm a Seasoned pilot. 🙂

    I fly heli FPV and crash landing(like most quad pilots) multiple times per trip. I ordered the 300x's ball link set last night to replace my Blade230's ball links. I like that Align300 parts are interchangeable with Blade230 parts and Align250 parts are interchangeable with Oxy2's parts and Oxy2's parts are interchangeable with Blade 180 parts. I can always pick one of the 3 vendors to drive down the price for any part below 5 dollars. I stock 2 parts in my car for every part that flies in the air. I rebuild an entire heli from inside my car on my driver seat while waiting. I also pilot my heli FPV from inside my car on my driver seat. My RF module is placed on top of my car roof.

    Why didn't you buy the same size battery as the oem align? I'm not being negative at all, I'm genuinely curious..

      Great question, honestly I didn’t realize the batteries had the different shape…they are similar cell and mah. This isn’t typically an issue but with the confined size and design of this particular helicopter it requires a little modification. After modifying the canopy a little the batteries do fit fine. Thanks for checking out the channel!

    Just got my RTF kit in the air a few times over this last week, been a blast. The canopy and battery issue still arises with the Align battery. It's a tight fit. I have a video with my wife recording me, and getting the canopy on in field is tough. I'm keeping the xt30 stock setup, but was curious about going to xt60 connections and batteries later. I see you had a 4 minute timer, I've got mine set at 5 minutes, but wondering if 4 is better when going to stunt 1 or 2

    I’ve set up my t-Rex 300x this weekend, largely following this video. I’ve found a problem though: the elevator servo is like 3mm lower than aileron servos, but all three servo linkage rods are of the same length. 3mm seems to much to unscrew and still be safe from the rods pulling out in mid flight. How did you manage to trim your swash plate?

    • @rcflightz2058
      @rcflightz2058  3 роки тому

      I didn’t need to...I would suggest taking the elevator servo arm off while in the neutral position and resetting it. Hope that helps. Thanks for tuning in!

      @@rcflightz2058 Hi, I'm new to using ESC, can you help? My setup is fbl brain 2(heli gyro) and hobbywing 60a regulator. In step 2 "ESC/Radio throttle Calibration" says "ensure the corresponding throttle amounts to the maximum throttle endpoint and the minimum throttle endpoint on your transmitter are respectively 100% and 0%".
      In the process of setting up the gyroscope, it was necessary to increase the costs of all channels in the equipment in order to have 0% and 100% in the gyroscope menu, as a result, the costs of my radio are -127 and +127.
      How do I calibrate the end points of the throttle, through the gyroscope (brain 2), as far as I understand, it sends the throttle channel signal to esc. Or should I take a separate receiver, create a new model in the transmitter where the costs will be -100 +100?

    using microbeastx plus it says to load the expo in the fc not the tx
    are you familiar with that unit?
    does that make sense to you?

    • @rcflightz2058
      @rcflightz2058  2 роки тому

      I’ve read and heard that before…not 100% sure if it’s a microbeast thing? I can say I’ve flown a microbeast with expo in the remote…expo is a real pilot preference thing, some instructors and pilot don’t use it at all…I like to start with it and back it off as I get to know a heli or am looking for performance flight…I think expo makes open “big air” type flying more pilot friendly, more relaxed. Hope that helps, thanks for checking out the channel!
