Eddie’s vocals complimented this song so well. He didn’t make it about him just about the song. Still a favorite.
My heart just literally exploded two of my favorite musicians singing together
Your heart literally exploded? 😂
And having a blast with that song
2007
Such a heartless (literally) person
Eddie is just so humble. He always shares the stage but steps back and lets the Original Band perform... He really is the Greatest Guest...
2007
Love the way Micheal does the Elvis dance on this performance…makes me smile every time.
Same! His moves made me smile! Both awesome!
❤
There is nothing better than a singer singing someone else's song not needing a cheat sheet.
Eddie is all class.
Oh lord rem ❤❤ thank you for the great music ❤❤😮😮❤❤❤
Damn Eddie is so gorgeous💟💋
Lol. Yes he is. My grandson’s middle name is Vedder after Eddie. My daughter loves him.
michael and eddie: icon of 90's.
Eddie Vedder is the ultimate guest star for any band.
Eddi vedder you are the best
He's the rock'n roll hall of fame's go to musician
100th
Wish he had more front back then.you know, backed himself like he should of.
@@damnicko6215 WTF???
I like this, Eddie Vedder really took a backseat and didn't try to make the show about himself at all, just made a great contribution to the performance and added to the song.
that's how he's always been
ha. haha.
That's because Eddie is "the man"
Going back to his roots - being a backup singer LOL!
💖💖💖
Wow! So good to see Bill Berry on drums again. Great performance.
Rick Hindman I agree. I was an R.E.M. fan up until the end, but after Bill Berry left they were never quite the same.
The drums sound really fantastic!
Rick Hindman He decided to quit after the brain aneurysm. He could have died.. So he retired early, and lived a simple life with his family. He still has the chops though. Great drummer.
@@Duke_Togo_G13 I agree but I think REM should have stopped. My 2 cents 😎🎸🎤
I was just thinking that! I am so proud of my guys, they all showed up, Including Bill.
killin it. Vedder could sing "wheels on the bus" and it would rock.
Such a random song to put out there, but yeah, it would sound good in the vein of Binaural.
Nothing as it seems would be a great song for wheels on the bus, it would be haunting...
Ha. Truth
knowing him he probably already has!!
Hi R.E.M. & everybody, have a nice day 💋💋💋💋💋 I love REM 💋💋💋💋💋

Hi R.E.M. & everybody, have a nice day 💋💋💋💋💋 I love REM 💋💋💋💋💋
I'm Eddie Vedder and challenge accepted! Lol
Not going to lie. Eddie Vedder's voice sounds perfect for these softer REM songs.
think this is good check out Brude Springsteen with REM singing "Man on the Moon".
yeah, that was fucking awesome. you can tell he and PJ could do solid covers.
The Llama God I agree with you, thought I was the only one that noticed?
Eddie Vedder is one overrated mumbler and wannabe
eddie's is perfect for ANY song, not going to lie! lol, cheers!
I like the Elvis Dance from Michael and the smiley from Eddie ❤
Awesome 🔥🔥
That’s a dope drum beat by Mr. Bill Berry. What a great band.
Stipe looks exactly the same as he did in the 90s!
Damn, Michael has been drinking from the fountain of youth. He looks the same as he did in the 90s. I love him and Eddie!
Funny, because he looks remarkedly aged here. Aged well, but aged.
In the eighties he had long hair.
@@jamessullivan4391 I saw him in 1985 and he had long hair, these two guys were fighting close to stage and he told them stop or he’d break it up and he didn’t look skinny at all
@@ObamaFromKenya I appreciate you emphasizing my point about long hair in the 80s. You go Bro.
Nah he looks quite aged but not bad really.
Mike Mills is a very underrated bass player! As a bassist I can say he writes some outstanding bass lines! Great vocals too! Love REM I'm sadden that they retired!
Eddie Vedder is s treasure...REM..happy, shiny...great band!!!
I love R.E.M, I love Vedder, and this just absolutely blows my mind. Like, can it even get any better?
pretty cool performance, for sure... Vedder was enjoying himself, respects and digs REM
yes - begin the begin
It doesn’t get Eddie Vedder than this!
@@gmantramp404 why?
I agree totally but I am seeing all these bands perform AND Eddie Vedder.... I am afraid he might owe a lot of child support , gambling debts or something because he is in every video. Do we need to start a GOFUNDME page to help a poor guy out?
Lord you can take me now. With this playing in my ears.
Two of the best voices in rock history!
Eddie Vedder has to be the ultimate team player gentleman of music
He seems to get invited to everyone's concerts. lol
Hillary, there's a reason these bands keep inviting him to sing... It's respect for Eddie's gift. He tries to honor that respect and usually succeeds.
I know, Eric Clapton same way..totally respectful of other musicians and never try to steal the spotlight. Love those guys!
Yeah yeah yeah yeah ,:-0
Les play twister les play risk ,:-0
This is real music, doesn't get much better than this
Doesn't get Eddie Vedder then this!
Bill Berry was such an important member of R.EM. His writing and drumming were crucial.
Eddie never tries to steal the show. Such a cool guy.
so what did he throw away at the end of the song then?
This team up gives me chills.
so awesome to see Bill back, he brings such a great backbone and energy to this band. The quiet unassuming, fantastic and versatile drummer. Deceptively simple, kids
His background vocals add a lot, too.
goosebumps when vedder came out!
Peter Buck has always been an underrated guitarist in my mind. Great performance.
Eddie sounded great with R.E.M. Two awesome singers...Two of my fav bands R.E.M and the voice of Pearl Jam. Michael is the coolest singer ever, as well. Not to mention, Michael knows how to dress..He always looks great in R.E.M Videos and out and about. Michael certainly has a style thing going on. Great upload and thanks
epiphany difference
When i go back and listen to the bands of my youth I realize how lucky I’ve been in my life.
The two greatest rock-and-roll baritones since Morrison.
❤
Truth
Michael Stipe is defo a tenor but I 100% agree they’re both amazing
@@joeinigo2072 Nope. How you come to this conclusion?
@@Chrisopsful because I’m a singer and I’ve had most of the singing myths debunked. His timbre and his range is more tenory. Sure he’s not the most tenory tenor in the world but still a tenor. Maybe more of a Bari-tenor.
RIP Neil Armstrong and Andy Kaufman
and classy Freddie Blassie
Great drummer, he is so strong
Having the original artist and then another artist sing/perform is pretty creative. Eddie Vedder done a great job at performing with Michael Stipe one of REM’s well known songs. A successful performance I call this one 🙂😎
Eddie Vedder could sing the phone book and it would be great!
DAMN. He just throws that Vox AC30 into the crowd! Those are fucking HEAVY!!! lol I hope those peoples shins survived.
Yeah I was going to say, they weigh a tonne! That thing coming to rest on peoples shins from that height would fucking hurt!!
Another reminder. Mike Mills the most underrated bass player and vocalist in rock.
REM has 2 lead singers, loved hearing Bill Berry again 🤟
it's because he's by nature such a modest guy. No need for a big swaggering ego. He's the steady hand and rock of R.E.M.
@@lindaangst8728love Mike think he got a lot of inspiration from Peter Hook also massively underated bass player and Song writer.. new order and Joy division 😊
One of the most underappreciated bands ever
Not to people who really know and appreciate good, transcendant music. Glad you're a fan. Maybe if we pray for a reunion tour like crappy bands like KISS or Aerosmith do, we'll get lucky
@@sdc6447 I have never been a kiss or areosmith fan bands like them but rem is something completely different the biggest difference is they're not some talentless hair band
@@nickday1627 I guess I shouldn't be so snobbish. Music is what makes you feel good inside or takes you where you wanna be. I've got my guilty pleasures, too. Ha. Ha. I guess there's a time and a place for music like KISS. Just not in my world..
Cuando personas como estás se juntan hacen magia
OMG My 2 ever favourites together!!!!!!
So deserving of all the accolades and honors

Great song great band great guest. Everything is just great. Are you great?
Michael’s voice has something. I like his gesture too.
Vedders voice is great but stipes cuts right through. Amazing
To see the Vox being thrown off stage at the end was a bit heartbreaking since I would LOVE to have one. R.E.M. is by far my biggest influence musically. They changed my life in a good way. I remember my buddy telling Stipe that before a show in Miami on the Green tour. Stipe seemed really taken with the statement. Their music still gives me goosebumps after all these years.
Yeah what the fuck was that all about?
@@beanboy1632 Rock n Roll, baby; Rock n Roll
An historic moment. ❤️
Man, this put a huge smile on my face!
This is all kinds of awesome.
Si
This is epic. You can tell how much Eddie loves REM. He really loves a respects all the legends.
No hay otro como el arriba del escenario gravita este hombre
Growing up, and going through school with them is one thing you leave this world with. Thank you guys, it's pretty empty without you
Eddie Vedder just seems like a decent guy, y'know.
Would a decent guy throw a Vox amp mindlessly into a crowd? Nah jk he's great
That incident aside. Great guy. No one's perfect
@@MongerOfStrings8222 Does seem a bit rash.
Definitely.
I always loved his spirit...
Holy shit! Peter hit 2 people with his amp... ROCK'N'ROLL!
If you had the pleasure of seeing REM live in concert, Michael Stipe always came up with the craziest body movements that fit so perfectly with the songs. I saw them in 1994 right after "What's the Frequency, Kenneth" was released. In fact, they opened with that song. One of the greatest bands!
Peter Buck is the coolest riffmeister bar none. The way he prowls around the stage giving off little kicks here and shimmies there, is delightful.
It's like he studied Nancy Wilson's stage presence.
Two of my favorite voices.
Absolutely great to see Eddie and Michael together, REM and Pearl Jam are two great bands that make my music life so cool
Yeah Yeah Yeah!
This performance brings tears...💜
I love how in the last line, he changes the lyrics to "Nothing up my sleeve" Its so clever and describes Andy so well, always keeping you on your toes.
Love this !!! Thank you....
Eddie Vedder sounds amazing with any band and he's as gorgeous as ever.
this made me smile SO much
Just one more tour REM. Please!
Stipe imitating vedder imitating stipe is outstanding
Loved seeing this with Bill back. Full sized REM. Beautiful!
amazing!
That was fucking awesome. Vedder and Stipe are Rock Gods!
ps. What's that tattoo on Stipe's hand?
Mike Hamilton Eddie is a big fan of REM, and that showed a lot. He sang his lines in his own style, but he stood back and didn't take over the show. He made it about them, and enjoyed singing with a band he respects.
Josh Gering Vedder fumbles on the first couplet here, but he does recover nicely. I played in a band for years and one thing I learned is that if you do mess up, keep going and don't call attention to it.
agree
Had the gall to ask? pussy!
One of my all time favorite songs
People deserve to know about the existence of this video. Eddie and REM!!!
If I could wipe my knowledge of it and dump it on another helpless sap I would.
Just Fabulous!, LOVE !
Still jam to this 🎉
Buck, Mills, Berry, Michael... Love this guys!!
i'm crying...
I never really appreciated this song when it was first released. I do now. Love it.
looooove it!!!!!
The best thing I ever saw for the day
Words cannot express my love for this! A-mesmer-azing!
Love this. Artists feom my teenage era altogether. My dream!!!! Love thee 90's ❤
They still sound AMAZING!
Wish I could go back and relive this time!❤
I'm addicted to this! Such commitment and joy from all.
I love that Bill Berry showed up to drum with them here.
It really doesn't get any better than this. ❤
This is awesome can't believe I never watched this performance
Love it. Any performance that includes some spontaneous shit is priceless. Long Live Stipe and Vedder!
WOAH, Peter Buck threw the frickin' Vox amp off stage on to that guys foot at the end!!!!! Goodness!!!!!
bad ass
Peyton Benton g
Maravillosa versión !!!!!!
So amazing!!!
i just love this.
Love them both. Saw Eddie in concert. Wish I could’ve seen R.E.M. love them. 🎵🎸🎵❤️❤️❤️
The bests!!
I love REM's career arc. They were an obscure cult band who worked their way up to making it really, really huge, and then went back to being an obscure cult band without ever really doing anything to piss all over their legacy. I mean, a couple of dull albums towards the end, but even then they had great singles. And as soon as they got their shit back together musically, as if to prove that they could do it, they called time. I admire that.
Here here!
Love it !!!
Mind is blown. My favorites singing my favorite song.......
great song of the early 90's
Greatest analogy EVER ! Well said Dave .
One of the best duos ever!!!!!!!
