It's been a long time coming that my girlfriend completes the Dark Souls trilogy. Back when she initially played through the first game in the series we never could have imagined the support and attention it would get. In many ways this video feels like a love letter to the first one, which seems fitting considering that's exactly what Dark Souls 3 is to the first game. Despite both of us getting COVID right in the middle of making this, we are very happy with Made My Girlfriend Play Dark Souls 3.

It's the ultimate fanservice/callback. You hear those notes and you instantly make the connection intended by the game; instead of fighting the incarnation of players, you fight the first kindling's incarnation now.
Shit was so hype, I kinda wish that was the canon ending/sendoff to the souls series, as opposed to some rando in a red cloak.
@dowfreak7 gael is so cool though, like you're literally finally fighting what the series is named after, and it's the guy that has helped you through both of the dlc you have to kill to claim it
The way she recognized it was an ego trap and that she was falling for it anyway. Truly one of us now!
Love the touch of her saying "I was" excitedly to Andre's remark, when in the very first video she exclaimed, "I am!" to the same line.
it's not exactly the same line, but it's to the same effect; "well, you must be a new arrival"

I like how she was excited about the door opening animation, truly a From Soft fan.
First time I heard the second phase music for soul of cinder kick in, I died to the true combo 5 seconds afterwards because I was too stunned to remember what the dodge button was. That single string of piano notes is more impactful to many dark souls players than any other game ost. It's good to see that it hit her just as hard as it did the rest of us.

Why? It is just a shameless nostalgia bait copy of Gwyn's theme. Just like the entire second phase of soul of cinder. In general the boss is incredibly unoriginal on top of making zero sense lore wise.
@@tinminator8905 Gwyn's theme in ds1 represents the sad and fading husk of a man gwyn is and also represents you've reached the end of the game. In ds3 the soul of cinder isn't nearly as futile but the reality of the world you're in and the depressing tone of the whole series culminates in Gwyn's tune one final time to represent the end of the series and, depending on your ending, the end of an age. Is it fan service? Yes. Does it speak to something larger than just the same tune again? Without a doubt.

It's hilarious to hear that happy, squeaky voice when it's paired with those big, bulky ultra greatswords and great hammers.
Amazing seeing her tackle my favorite game of all time, my first Souls, hits differently after playing the other ones, it's like replaying with my eyes open, absolutely love this game

This is by far my favorite souls game. The music in this game blew me away. Elden is is objectively the better game, but ds3 is my favorite by far. And girlfriends EEEEEEE is so fucking adorable
I’d argue that it’d not objectively better there are some choices in Ds3 that feel better then Elden ring and enjoyable.
@@NianJKL Plus the bosses were actually good... I love Elden Ring was absolutely magnificent, but holy fuck the bosses felt repetitive and many were just unnecessarily incompetently/annoyingly made, all by it epic tho. Hopefully the DLC bosses are more creative gameplay-wise. Like, it's been years, but Artorias, Nameless King and Soul of Cinder are still arguably my favorite bosses of all.

Amazing as always, 3 is my favorite game out of the series, i 100% achievement completed it (which was a pain in the ass, fuck all spell all ring achievements, especially the covenant grind), and then got into pvp and challenge/speedrunning just to squeeze more enjoyment out of it.

I actually really enjoy these videos, something just seems so wholesome and genuine about them.
This channel was what drove me to get Elden ring in the end, also I decided to try replay ds3 because I could never beat it when I got it a few years ago, started the same day this video came out and finished yesterday. Now I’m stuck on midir lol. Can’t wait to try the rest of the games that are on Xbox. On top of that can’t wait for armoured core reboot.

We started with Borderlands twelve years ago, now she beat every souls for "relaxation". I hope i can get her to play MGR. You should give Nioh a try, it's tough, but all the git-gud is there.

On most bosses I will say, it makes sense why they have a "second" health bar when they do. Like the Nameless King? You think defeating his mount is killing him? They even have different names. The Abyss Watchers are undying soldiers guarding the Abyss etc.
If you guys have Elden ring in pc (both need pc and the game) you can download a mod titled “seemless co-op” which allows you both the play co-op basically through the entire game and not being sent to your world after a boss
