This video is the product of my boyfriend's Robitussin PM induced fever dream.

This is the first step toward my wish of seeing Girl do a deathless, SL1, every boss slain run of every game in the Soulsborne franchise

Absolutely not, we gotta let her cook first before you make her run
DS2 though...
The boss patterns might not be as fast/crazy as stuff like DS3 or Elden Ring, but only having 5 i-frames per roll instead of 13, and only having half hp if you keep having to attempt bosses....
Wouldn't mind this being a series! Hope you two get better soon!

as a girl that enjoys gaming myself i have to say i been following the channel for a while now and seeing how girl ( i do not know how to refer to you guys sorry) has grown so much as a gamer and enjoying gaming more makes me feel kinda proud, you go girl! ... also thank you boy for bringing her into the dark side hehe
IIRC It’s Nick and Taryn (from their Q&A video) but I still call them Boy and Girl most of the time.

Holy Hell. I mean i hope you both get well but please turn thin into a series. You've already had the funny and the wholesome. Now you got challenge too? This channel was already one of my favorites and it is quickly rising to the top with this.

Unfortunately UA-cam muted that section. It happened right before Raiden says "Dance" and it goes till they beat the boss.
Love this new... series? It definitely has potential to be a series, taking on challenges together. Editing and music choices are fantastic as always :)

It's so nice to see that outer wilds has not stuck in their hearts all this time. I know it's a Dark souls video but "The River" in the background is fitting.
I feel like this video allows you guys to show more of your dynamic and funny antics without it having to be a script heavy.
I'd love to see this turned into a series so we can spend more time with this vibe.

10/10 loved this. I think any series with both of you playing and working together is just dope though. Although, challenge runs add an extra layer of strategy and planning that was a really nice dynamic in the video

Omg, I did not expect this but I love it! As someone who has done a firekeeper run, some casual speedruns and have attempted a sl1 run I was neerding out over this!!! Here are some quick tips if you ever decide to do another challenge run for dark souls 3.
1. You can get an extra estus shard, access to the birds and a ring that gives extra souls as soon as you get to firelink. You do a jump up the tree near the locked door to the tower and you're on the roof! It takes a few attempts but it's too difficult to pull off.
2. Dark hand is AMAZING early game. You beat Vort, talk to Yoel, extract power, die, extract some more, repeat. It's not doable in a sl1 run, but for anything else both the levels and the weapon is a god send.
3. Put some god damn armour on! Even if it's rags, just do it!! Ok, I was being a bit hyperbolic there, but in all seriousness, ds3 has some hidden stuff regarding not wearing armour. Not only do you loose your resistance from said armour, you also incur a penalty for not having any armour in a slot, so wearing armour with 0 absorption is still better than not wearing anything at all.
Sorry for the long rant, just very excited to share my experience with this kind of thing. If you ever decide to do another challenge, the fire keeper run is a very interesting one. You can level up to sl13, but you cannot upgrade your weapons, so it end up being a different but also difficult challenge.
Glad that you enjoyed it! Nick actually did the tree jump, but I just couldn't seem to get it down. Instead I unapolgetically crunched the Soul of the Blood of the Wolf to buy the key xD Also, our lack of armor is indeed questionable... It wasn't until we were editing that the two of us looked at each other like, "Would it have killed us to put on a shirt?" hahaha

Those exceedingly un-upgraded weapons against Dancer made my entire body tense up.
I did this challenge with a friend at the start of the year and it was *so much fun.* Rooting for you both and would love to see this as a full series on your channel. :)

Loved the video, great idea for the series. There are so many challenges in so many games that would be very fun to run in co-op. Speaking of which, did you know Hollow Knight has a co-op mod? Anyway, hope you two get better soon.
Now that both mods work together I'd highly recommend doing a Seamless Co-op + Randomizer playthrough. My BF and I did that and it was an absolute blast.

This was great. I hope it helped to pass the time while you were sick. I think doing a full sl1 playthrough would be fun, but, having done one myself, with the full meta build, I can say that it definitely can get a bit frustrating at some parts near the end, especially in the ringed city, since your damage is sub-par and everything one shots you. I would not recommend doing the DLC if you decide to continue the run. But you do this style of video surprisingly well, especially considering you haven't done anything like this before, so I think it would be great if you wanted to continue. Just be ready for things to get harder.
Always good to hear from you, and thanks for the advice! It was definitely a little out of our comfort zone but we had fun trying something new! I don’t know if we‘d commit to a full run of the game, but a part 2 might be us picking another boss to go after :)

This is absolutely another great idea for a series! Could be something like "Challenge Run +1," or something? Definitely plenty of games where you can do something similar, too, be it a minimum level run, like this, or an itemless or armorless run of something, or even just something that has a challenging maximum difficulty? Or perhaps something made as a specifically coop challenge, like how Soul Links are Pokemon Nuzlockes modified for such an idea.
Either way, it's fun to see, and also makes for a great excuse to revisit other games you've enjoyed. ^^
What I love about SL1 with +10 weapons allowed is that it really teach you how to optimize damage with what the SL1 allows you + certain rings.
I know most people would go for Raw infusions, but simple and blessed infusions comes handy for Mana or Health regen... and well, Dusk Crown ring+saint ring+priestess ring allows you to cast tears of denial... yeah is 3 rings for just 2 hits before dying at sl1, but it can help vs certain bosses.

Lessons learned: 1. I still dread Smouldering Lakes. 2. I've missed Tarny playing Dark Souls. 3. Noicky, even when sick, isn't beyond cheap shots for the lols. 1🤣🤣🤣
But most importantly: I'd watch a full playthrough whether it's just Tarny or a co-op job.

figuring out dark souls 3 level 1 is actually _really_ fun! I've done it before and I'll do it again 😂. surprisingly well balanced and IMO soul of cinder is best at level 1
