    Love how that jig looks through the plastic, I've never thought to rig them like that! Did you call that first one a cutbow? Is that a hybrid? Those lakers are beasts man, love watching big fish swim away as well great footage.

    • @MountainStateAngler
      @MountainStateAngler  4 роки тому +6

      Hey brother! Thanks for coming over to view the video. Yea these lakers like squid like presentations and the white tubes replicate them well. Yea a cutbow is a mix of a rainbow and a cutthroat trout, it is a hybrid introduce because the rainbow trout were impacted by whats called a whirling disease a pest that was attaching to the fish and causing their spinal cord to be deformed. The cutthroat is immune to the disease and doesn't get affected by it so biologists decided to mix the two species to make a cuttbow which has worked well.

    Are those Big Lake Trout Edible???

    • @MountainStateAngler
      @MountainStateAngler  3 роки тому

      The fish is over 20 years old, generally a fish with that much time in a body of water builds a lot of mercury, in addition to that there is a wall of fish fat before the meat. Both of those combined gives it a bitter taste that is beyond fishy in taste. Generally the 18 to 20 inch fish are much younger with better tasting meat and no fat. I release the big ones because. They are the future of more fish producing. Also at this particular body of water all fish from 22 to 34 inches have to be releasedz
