- Here’s an incredible project from a young man in Vietnam, who built a stunning and functional electric motorcycle from scratch.
DIY Battery Modules: bigbattery.com/product-catego...
The motorbikes design is based off the BMW HP Kunst Hydrogen Concept bike.
They describe the project as a technological showcase of hydrogen technologies positioned in the high performance range, that combines the racing characteristics of a supermoto bike and the sportiness of a roadster.
They imagined the motorcycle as having an Aluminium frame, tubular steel and carbon parts, a brushless 100kw motor powered by a fuel cell with a cryogenic hydrogen tank, a lithium polymer battery, electronic controls, and electromagnetic suspension.
Inspired by this forward looking concept, young Pham Vu decided to build an electric motorcycle based on the design.
As a mechanical engineering student, the design and mechanical work came naturally, but the electronic components required some research and testing.
The frame was designed in Autodesk Inventor software, and he cut the steel and welded it together himself. The project which took about 6 months to complete, cost Pham nearly $3000 USD and was actually his graduation project for university. He hopes that it can prove his skill and ingenuity to future employers.
With features like a remote key and a custom tablet dashboard, the build is definitely quite impressive.
The build includes repurposed parts such as wheels from a Yamaha ex150 and a nitrogen air shock absorber, and this ingenious ebike can travel 80 km / 50 miles on a single charge, although Pham doesn’t have much time to cruise because he’s busy with other projects lately.
With a top speed of 85k/mh | 53MPH, the electric bike is powered by a 60volt 50 amp hour lithium iron phosphate battery pack, and driven by a 2000 watt electric motor.
He told me the wiring was typical for an electric motorbike project, but was difficult to get right, and it looks like he did a great job with pro details like headlights, tail lights and brake lights.
In future projects, he hopes to be able to incorporate carbon fiber 3d printing to extend his build capabilities.
For this bike he made body panels by cutting and flat pressing PVC pipe into shapes he designed in CAD software.
The ride has that characteristic electric sound, and it looks to be an absolute blast to ride. With comparable electric motorcycles typically being much more expensive than this home built DIY electric bike, it looks like he made himself an incredible toy for commuting, or just hotrodding around Vietnam where i’m sure he’s got a lot of people snapping their necks to take a peak at this boy geniuses crazy creation.

Update: Pham was featured in one of Vietnam’s largest newspapers, got several job offers, and just accepted a position with a growing technology company in Asia. 🙏 Newspaper Photo: ua-cam.com/users/postUgyEWVUZfia08kh0gEl4AaABCQ
Great...
Nice I can hope to create this type of stuff when I’m older
Very immpressive keep going
the car is in Vietnam and I think it is a Vietnamese made
hope it was in a Country that would respect his engineering skills .. monetary wise.
This is my graduation project...
Judges: Hands the diploma in 10secs.
Imagine the job offers this youngster is fielding?!
Awesome work man. The chassis design and finished body structure is really good. Hope you will have a very bright future, congratulations for you wonderfull hardwork man.
Hi, Pham Vu, pls call me 0933910935.
How much does it cost?
@@GVChannel almost 3000$ us... it says it in the video lol. To build it yourslef that is.. this one isnt for sale.
Tell that young man "SCREW FUTURE EMPLOYERS!!!!" Start your own business. This is amazing!!!!
dammm right, screw working for the MAN like a slave... with skills like this, your set for life. start up your own company and watch the orders flood in
Ford just closed a factory in Australia. If this guy can build the frame to adopt to different part suppliers, he could build EV motorcycles and trikes
Can you make me one send to Canada

Ur absolutely right
Well maybe he want appreciate it because he use a BMW concept to make a preference..
nice student good job
I don't own a company, but someone who has the drive, persistence and curiosity to create something like this is someone I'd definitely consider hiring. A company like Tesla might appreciate a personal project like this. Not affiliated, with them, just saying.. :)
Agreed. This project demonstrated a wide range of skills, aptitude for technology, and attention to detail.
Too bad Elon Musk hates bikes and has sadi that Tesla would have nothing to do with them. Zero on the other hand, or one of the growing range of electric bike manufacturers would be interested in a proposal
Companies like Tesla are the problem they are not the solution these companies charge you sky high prices for simple electric cars that hundred years ago were running all over the place this guy did this with only three grand that's what you should really be looking at how much more could a multi-billion-dollar company do all they do is suppress technology we would already been living in The Jetsons age if it was not for these big companies and Banks suppressing technology from the masses cuz they're trying to squeeze every penny out of you you have to pay them to live Tesla wanted to do all of that for free give people the technology for free not charge them sky high prices
@@simonkennedy6116 Do you know why? People can easily build them. And there are too many cheap Chinese electric bikes in the market.
@@pinncok3344 aah your ignorance
who else watched because they thought it was something they may be able to DIY
That's what I thought Haha, but if I try to build one now, it'll cost me lifetime.

Fantastic. As a fellow engineer I find this a wonderful and very practical project. The finished product looks like it could be in a showroom anywhere in the world. I hope you start your own company, you've got some real skills
Totally awesome! The skills and experience gained from this will take you far.
One of the Best Looking home made E-Bike I've ever seen.
Great job Pham! I am planning an electric conversion on an old motorcycle and I am learning a lot from videos like yours. Thanks a lot!
Hats off to your design and engineering on the bike!
Looks really fabulous.
This young Vietnamese guy is simply brilliant. I hope his designs hits the streets soon because I would absolutely buy one. Beautiful design.
check www.yatrimotorcycles.com with 230KM of range that gets charged full in just 2 hours. I guess the design looks futuristic too.
I thought this was in production already, would love to get my hands on this!
Dear creator, I would LOVE a video showing how you got those pvc parts together to look that good! GREAT build mate!
Heat gun .
Amazing work, Pham! Love the look of the finished bike as well! You have a bright future young man! God Bless you!
With this much amazing details in design, color combination at that 3000$ price point,
I really have say great job buddy.
You gifted yourself 3 thing, a stunning ebike, lot of technical skill and university degree.
Hire this man, BMW! Looks like he's eyeing your company with this build :D
Amazing build. Very inspirational. Makes me want to try to do one.
Same, I’m going to build a similar electric bike this year
@ElectricFuture if you build your electric bike, can you make a blog or video..from frame, motor, battery and proper wiring 👍👍👍
@Vic Marrotti thanks for the bizarre comment Vic keep em coming!
@@ElectricFuture please make a video of you building your own bike
Brother, take good offer, time is money, and start your own business after 3 yrs.
My grandson graduated from well known engineering university with a degree in mechanical engineering like Pham. There is one thing that is difference: he disassembled the car engine, and reassembled it with a lot of left over parts, bolts and nuts on the floor of the garage. He finally called a tow truck to dump it in a junk yard after a month of playing around with the engine.
Exceptional DIY engineering! this was clearly a ton of work. Bravo!
Very nice build if I say so myself. I would have loved to have gone on this journey with him since I am trying my hands at an EV Motorcycle build.
For real I'm just finishing up on mine its 60v 3000w . Its extremely fast
Chuc Mung em, Congratulations, it looks fantastic. How we can find you in Vietnam?
Me too..
Are you going rob his bike?

DIY and Technology is a perfect combination....Thumbs up👌
Astounding. Are there build videos? I have never heard of that PVC technique and would love to learn how to
I will post a full dump of all the raw videos and images he sent me via a link in the description later today.
Here are all the images he sent me with some more photos of PVC body work: bestcharged.com/diy-electric-motorcycle-images/
Reuse of PVC pipe is very popular in SE Asia. Splitting, heating and forming it is done a lot.
Great work. I’m currently working on converting a Polaris Slingshot into all electric.
Would love to see photos of the build post a link
Electric Future I’m working on posting it soon! Stay tuned
If this is his graduation project. He will make future better for humanity. Bro keep up your work.
Awesome work bud.great initiative towards the environment..keep inspiring ❤️
In the future, we could build our own motocycle with few click.
If that resales for 4500$ and has some more improvments he has a good company idea
He spent nearly 3K making the prototype...there is no fucking reason why it should cost more than half that in mass production.
@@DxBlack i took it to extreme man i know its not gonna be that expensive
Man, that's a super SWEET bike!
GREAT Work!
Great work man, keep it up, people like you can offer a better future.
Elon: Send location Pham Vu.
The headlight reminds me of Call of Duty mobile's motorcycle.
This looks like a professionally designed and build bike, hard to believe it is a DIY by one person.
A million likes for this bike.👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍.....................

You will be an inspiration to others. Amazing job.
Great job Pham! God has blessed you!
80km range with a lithium iron battery? Damn, not bad.
Dude made an entire product. With a couple of angel investors he could open an E-bike company and solve the quirks of having to use adapted parts.
Definitely an awesome job all around, way better than any diy project I've ever seen lol
So amazing, this student from Tra Vinh university, a province at the west of VietNam, first time see this electric bike, i think it maked by a famous brand, but i really uncrediable i maked by student, a complete product so nice
It looks better than some professionally built and designed brands. Great job! Congrats! As I’m sure the power of the bike was determined by your budget at the time, I hope to see you overcome that issue one day.
Dang it hella GORG 💓🔥🔥
Kudos to the genius
His smart work paid off .
My honest congratulations Pham vu it sure was a difficult task and especially for a student. Your effort is something that most of us must admire and try to replicate
Absolutely beautiful design. I wish this was mass produced.

The pvc body is incredie, me myself being a mechanical engimeer, and a formula 3 prototyle builder, salute your prototyping skills. Your bike is phenomenal and you must run into dealerships ones you end up with your collage. Gud luck bro.
Man this young vietnamese is amazingly talented. 3000 isn't easy to find in Vietnam. That's almost all of his savings. I wish he will go far with his talent.

Good Job Brof...!
Pham, It looks Fantastic, Keep up Buddy.
Great job buddy, you definitely will go a long way, Kudos
Wow! This is a very innovative idea and design, I would love to build one in singapore with the help of my brother-in-law who is great at modification of E-scooter, wiring and eletronic, we are just missing the parts to make the body. Anyway to get in touch with the vietnam engineer?
I suggest he can make the parts and ship out to other hobbyist letting them custom design their own motor or display panel or wheels etc...he can continue his work making newer design or working on other things like a E-vehicle or E-boat.
Love from vietnam. Such a piece of art
This young man has a bright future... Great job 👍

Makes me envision a store where DIY people can get the plans, parts for various similar projects and even engage/hire one of designers to customize or create a vehicle. Great job, nice video
Thought about doing this it’s a pretty niche market though, massive and complex stock to maintain for a relatively small business
This is incredible ... Love from 🇮🇳
