I've installed mods from Nexus Mods manually and haven't had many issues. Or do you mean using a mod manager such as vortex? In that case, I'm still trying to figure out a good way to do that. I've heard people say that vortex will work through Lutris but I haven't quite figured out how to work Lutris yet.
Hi friend, you're the first one I've seen that talks about it. I've tried to install mods to GTA V but doesn't work, do you know how? It's just i want it to run the Menyoo Trainer and on Red Dead Redemption 2 the Rampage trainer. Could you help me please? I do it exactly as I would on my normal pc but doesn't work
I've tried and the mods just don't work on gta. I took all the mods fron my windows game and put them on hard drive and just transfered them all over to the deck files and nothing happens in game. I assume it's cause it'd windows files idk 🤣
It is, but I honestly couldn't tell you why. The game seems to run just fine from my testing. Other people on protondb say they've also had no issues with it. www.protondb.com/app/383980
I was thinking would another good technique be using a flash drive on your pc to transfer/place all the extra mods files then simply just transfer those files to your steam deck 🤔 Would that work?
I have a question. If I want to install modern skins for example of the enemies of the HALF LIFE 2 campaign, can I do it on the steamdeck just like on Windows? just fill in the "custom" folder of HALF LIFE 2 and put them there?
Can you play fallout new Vegas or anything with your PC saves but with different mods on the deck you think? Visa versa and keep progression on both systems
New Vegas does have steam cloud saves so those will transfer between the deck and your PC pretty seamlessly. As for the different mods it entirely depends on what those mods are. I have a save file with tons of mods on my pc. Whenever I try to load that save on the Steam Deck, the game immediately crashes. If you stick to lighter mods or maybe just a few then you might not have this issue.
I had to transfer my saves for FNV from steam to Epic because my steam version was the regular new Vegas and my epic version was the ultimate edition. It was a pain to find where steam kept the saves for FNV since for some reason steam doesn't keep saves in the same place for every game. But I managed to do it on the Deck. On PC I have a save back up program that finds the saves without you having to search all over the place for them plus They're on my pc instead of in the cloud.
I don't have a gaming pc anymore, as my old one stopped working. I loved modding on it though. I am debating on getting this or an Xbox Series X. So I would I be able to hook this up to my pc monitor and a 4k tv?
So I was watching a graphics comparison video between the Steam Deck and the Switch... the Switch looked better because the Nintendo version has a HDR type mod applied... In the comments folks were saying there was a PC mod available that did the same thing but that had me wondering if mods were portable between windows and linux?
Possibly but I'm not too sure. I haven't played borderlands 2 on pc nor have I attempted to mod it in any way. With other games I've seen people say they just install and mod the game on a windows pc then copy the files over to the Steam Deck but I'm not sure if that would work for everything

Do bayonetta mods work?
Been trying to find work around to mod without cheat engine on Steam deck so far a year into research I haven’t found any working options (trying to mod Ninja gaiden sigma 2), good video though.
Can you install Nexus mods on steamos?
Or you have to install window for that?
I've installed mods from Nexus Mods manually and haven't had many issues. Or do you mean using a mod manager such as vortex? In that case, I'm still trying to figure out a good way to do that. I've heard people say that vortex will work through Lutris but I haven't quite figured out how to work Lutris yet.
@@the_new_challenger any updates & do you know if you can mod Borderlands 2?
Can u make a video on dolphin for the steam deck
Hi friend, you're the first one I've seen that talks about it.
I've tried to install mods to GTA V but doesn't work, do you know how? It's just i want it to run the Menyoo Trainer and on Red Dead Redemption 2 the Rampage trainer. Could you help me please? I do it exactly as I would on my normal pc but doesn't work
I've tried and the mods just don't work on gta. I took all the mods fron my windows game and put them on hard drive and just transfered them all over to the deck files and nothing happens in game. I assume it's cause it'd windows files idk 🤣
I actually got it to work after a while. Did you?
@@ryanpettry8475no, please tell me how did you do it. I cannot do it, I've tried but doesn't work, doesn't show up

all you'd need to do is all this line to your launch options
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dinput8=n,b" %command%
@@ryanpettry8475 Hey Ryan I Hope you can answer I would like some help from you if you don't mind
Craftopia's workshop mods dont work on steam deck
peazip wont work for me
I have crates a mod folder for my game and put the file within the folder but getting no results. I used peasip and extracted and nothin
Well the modding requirements for every game can be a little different. Which game are you attempting to mod?
Oblivion
Will this work for other games too?
Isn't rivals unsupported?
It is, but I honestly couldn't tell you why. The game seems to run just fine from my testing. Other people on protondb say they've also had no issues with it.

I was thinking would another good technique be using a flash drive on your pc to transfer/place all the extra mods files then simply just transfer those files to your steam deck 🤔 Would that work?
4:00 A Hat in Time has in game mod support
I have a question. If I want to install modern skins for example of the enemies of the HALF LIFE 2 campaign, can I do it on the steamdeck just like on Windows? just fill in the "custom" folder of HALF LIFE 2 and put them there?
I believe that would work fine. I can't test it for you since I don't have HF2 on steam but I don't think you'll have any issue if you do that.
Is there a way to mod border lands
Can you play fallout new Vegas or anything with your PC saves but with different mods on the deck you think? Visa versa and keep progression on both systems
New Vegas does have steam cloud saves so those will transfer between the deck and your PC pretty seamlessly. As for the different mods it entirely depends on what those mods are. I have a save file with tons of mods on my pc. Whenever I try to load that save on the Steam Deck, the game immediately crashes. If you stick to lighter mods or maybe just a few then you might not have this issue.
@@the_new_challenger thanks that’s sick of it works though
I had to transfer my saves for FNV from steam to Epic because my steam version was the regular new Vegas and my epic version was the ultimate edition. It was a pain to find where steam kept the saves for FNV since for some reason steam doesn't keep saves in the same place for every game. But I managed to do it on the Deck. On PC I have a save back up program that finds the saves without you having to search all over the place for them plus They're on my pc instead of in the cloud.
You are awesome
I don't have a gaming pc anymore, as my old one stopped working. I loved modding on it though. I am debating on getting this or an Xbox Series X. So I would I be able to hook this up to my pc monitor and a 4k tv?
Yeah, you just need a usb-c hub or dock to connect it to a monitor or TV
Is it possible to use trainers from cheat happens?
So I was watching a graphics comparison video between the Steam Deck and the Switch... the Switch looked better because the Nintendo version has a HDR type mod applied... In the comments folks were saying there was a PC mod available that did the same thing but that had me wondering if mods were portable between windows and linux?
Payday 2 mods prob?
Is it possible to use wemod?
will this work for skyrim?
Can you mod Borderlands 2?
Possibly but I'm not too sure. I haven't played borderlands 2 on pc nor have I attempted to mod it in any way.
With other games I've seen people say they just install and mod the game on a windows pc then copy the files over to the Steam Deck but I'm not sure if that would work for everything
Anybody know how to mod risk of rain 2 on the steam deck?
It’s keeps opening with ark
I'm planning on getting this mainly to play fromsoftware mods. I want to play those games in complete and utter chaos
