      Z900 is a great all rounder. From a comfort point of view, I did like however, how comfy the Street Triple seat was, and also the position of the foot pegs together with the shape of the tank. It really makes it easier to grab the tank with your legs.

      your opinion is unfortunate, the triumph has incorrect proportions throughoutthe entire bike. it's like they tried to combine 3 different styles of bikes and failed miserably. the headlight is probably one of the ugliest designs ever. The z900 is far more refined not just aesthetically but mechanically as well. maybe some day you'll pull your head out of your butt and be able to see this. have a nice day! 😉

      @@rudramain a BMW and a Ducati?jeeze buddy, have fun spending all your extra time and cash repairing those ill-designed, unreliable money pits. ive ridden, worked on, and customized literally hundreds of motorcycles in my life, japanese bikes plain and simple are just superior in every aspect. you can believe whatever nonsense you've heard in your life, but in the end, if you ask any mechanic or real motorcycle enthusiast, they would agree with what I've said. I'll stick with my Suzuki bandit that has 68k and still runs perfectly, and my 1998 honda 996 that has just about 50k and also runs perfectly.. the z900 (and most Japanese bikes) will outlast and out perform most bikes that comes out of Europe. good luck with that extra chromosome pal. youre a prime example of how you can't fix stupid... 👍 I'm assuming you didn't make it to the end of this rant since you probably have the attention span of a cockroach...

      Japanese ask you to visit the service centre twice/thrice a year. Triumph, BMW, Ducati ask only once in a year or 10000kms.
      With the intrusive abs, cheap steering quality, poor mid-range, ugly cockpit feeling, there is enough reason to choose European over Japanese. I can afford to maintain Euro bikes, So it makes sense to me.

      @@TheBikeFather I have a STRS, tested the MT09 SP, Z900, F900R. Why do you support the z900 is in the right and the STRS is in the wrong? do you really need a more resposible throttle on the road than the STRS has to offer (both on road mode)? if you want a really responsible throttle RBW bikes are not for you then... both are great machines, for the price and history of the 765RS is a better and will always be a better bike, yeah they are in the same category (triumph makes it harder for themselfs, imagine having the same 948CC as the kawa...), but thats it. Kawa its an OK bike, cheap, reliable, but the STRS its on another lever and ofc it costs more money. Z900 is more comparable to the Street triple R, and even then the triumph has better quality overall. they are all great bikes (besides the f900r, overpriced piece of garbage) , that why they sell a lot.

    Z900 is inline 4( but not the best of it's kind) and Street Triple is best in 3 cylinders,both bikes are good enough in it's own kind. I prefer street Triple because the weight_transmission ratios are perfect and even the bike is lightweight ( dry weight is around 166kg)and more over their braking, exhausts and those LED's in Street Triple R with Tachometer 😇😇😇

    • @TheBikeFather
      @TheBikeFather  3 роки тому +3

      It's definitely a great bike. I haven't explored even fraction of what's there to find out about the bike and the only way to properly get to know the bike is of you own it, and ride it day in day out.
      I loved quite a lot of things about it, the only thing which I'm not a fan of, as you already know, are the headlights. But everything else it's amwzing.
      In fact, if it wasn't for the headlights I would probably ended up buying this one instead, as triumph tech stuff, screen, connectivity, gopro integration and all that, is more advanced than what z900 has to offer.

    I have a first gen Street Triple R (round headlights), plus a Z800 and my wife has a Z900, plus my son has an MT09. I have ridden all four on multiple occasions. They all have their strengths and limitations. The Street Triple is light, flickable, fun to ride, sounds great (arrow high cans). The Z800 is smooth, feels slightly quicker off the line than the Z900, but is heavy. The Z900 is lighter (trellis frame), smooth. The MT09 is lively, short wheelbase, feels like it wants to wheelie all the time - plus it has a quick shifter. Overall, I lean towards the street triple as the one to grab and go for fun rides, the Z800 for a longer trips (eats the kms well on the motorway) - personally I prefer riding the Z800 to the Z900 (I am sure some will think I am mad). And the MT09 is just a bit too looney for me. I will be test riding the Street Triple 765RS soon, but some people think that it is not necessarily that much better than the 675 considering the extra cost. All comes down to personal taste….

    Having owned a few Triumphs and fallen foul of the Local dealers rubbish customer service, Triumph has to be very good for me to consider one again. I'm not keen on the Triple engine note and the way the whistle all the time either. I went for the Z900 SE. Same price and my dealer is amazing, local, and I find Kawasaki a better company to deal with. Also comes with four year warranty. The Triumph os also a bit small. Some people look like a circus bear riding them. Saying all this, the Triumph is a fantastic bike to ride, a proper hooligan bike.

    Triumph is like apple, they make the things their way now if you want to experience their delicious triple engine you have to teach yourself to like what they are making. And GOD that triple engine is orgasmic to hear. For me inline 4 are boring now.

    • @TheBikeFather
      @TheBikeFather  2 роки тому

      Yes you’re right. The build quality on the triumph might look better on paper compared to other brands including Kawasaki, obviously that’s reflected in the price as well… however i hope that’s also reflected in the overall reliability because I have heard from a few triumph owners who long term had various issues, and had their bikes being sent on a regular basis back to the garage for fixing. Same as KTM. So I’m not sure whether the reliability is there. Obviously I don’t own a triumph so I can’t say anything for sure.

      @@TheBikeFather it absolutely does triumph feels more premium, z900 has a bit plasticky feel to it, if you want a bike and wanna make a connection with it I believe triumph has a lot more character to it, there are so many little little things that you will notice about triumph when you will make your bond with bike. Z900 is straight away a mass production kinda motorcycle the 948 engine is superb but triumph feels like they put effort in making each and every bike where z900 feels like a factory mass produced bike.

    Hey,
    Tbh, the Z is gonna be a better bike for everyday use, its cheaper, arguably more reliable and better/easier to use around town. but still lots of fun. The 765 Triple is a bit more of a performance machine, better breaks, better chassis, lighter, and goodies like the quick shifter and blipper... its basically a naked Daytona.
    It comes down to what you want, and what you are going to be using the bike for.

      Tricky to say. My first bike was a 500cc and even that was a beast, scared me a few times as I was stupid and didn't know how to control it, lean and corners and all that..
      So will I recommend a 765cc or 948cc as first bike, probably not. I guess out of two, if you have to go for one, I would go for the one with lower cc, so Street triple RS in this case.

Never been a fan of her face, Angry wasp describes it very well but as you said its subjective, I love the rear end, seating position, Tank shape, but the other thing to keep in mind is as you said the price, I'm in Australia and the RS is $5,000 roughly more expensive than the Z900. Addressing few things:
    The street triple is designed to bring the dynamics of a supersport to a streetfighter that's why there is a fixed headlight, the tune is focused on top end power. All the electronics and top tier hardware
    The z900 is ofcourse tuned to have good torque + its a 950 cc engine so the engine inherently comes in witha lot of torque
    The z is for people who want a street focused motorcycle.
    But if you want something that can sacrifice a bit of comfort for setting some fast lap Times,then street triple rs ftw

      it is indeed. quality wise, the street triple definitely feels more equipped, brakes suspensions, etc.. but that of course is reflected in the overall price, whilst z900 is cheaper, and feels like a good all rounder. If it wasn't for the looks of the street triple, I would have strongly considered it, but I just don't like those bugs headlights, but this is a very subjective thing

    Z900 for me 😁 have owned the 2021 Z900 for one week and 250 miles and absolutely love it. Love the power, so fun to ride, great handling, great looks. Never drove a triple to compare though in fairness. I know triumph makes a great product too. I feel like the Z will blast me off to the moon if I want lol.

      That's hard to say. I think both were pretty much the same heigh, I might be wrong though.. The Street Triple Seat definitely felt better, more premium.

    I agree with you. The Z900 looks way better/ sportier, and value for money IMO. As for the quick-shifter you can easily get yourself an aftermarket Healtech quick-shifter for your Z9. It's stupidly fun.

    • @TheBikeFather

      Thanks. I've heard that's only an up shifter, is that right? As in, it doesn't blip down.

    • @sekeli69
      @sekeli69 3 роки тому +1

      Cable throttle so it shouldnt be able to auto blip for down. Read on one forum and in instructions that it is possible with healtech to downshift with qs as long as you keep throttle open a little bit while braking and changing gears. I will get mine installed next week. I also considered triumph street triple r but went for japanese reliability since my last bike (ducati supersport s) let me down every single year. At least 2 weeks without a bike. So far z900 is amazing, has few things that go on my nerves but so far nothing that would deter me from buying the bike again (seat, hitting exhaust with heel...) also price was dirt cheap compared to rest of the nakeds. Did a test ride of z900 and ninja1000sx and decided to go z because of flickability.

    • @TheBikeFather
      @TheBikeFather  3 роки тому

      Thanks. I'll have a look into that qs. Yes I know exactly what you mean about the seat & hitting the exhaust with the heal..

      @@TheBikeFather Yes. Only upshifting. downshifting you still need rev matching and clutch usage.

      You can check out SimpleSimon's video about down shifting while the throttle is partially opened. For now, you may try clutchless upshifting until you decided to purchase yourself a QS.

    Never understand why Triumph doesn't offer a more conventional headlight. I think I'm warming to the bug-eye arrangement but I'm sure they'd sell way more bikes if they offered a choice to those who really dislike it.

    • @TheBikeFather
      @TheBikeFather  3 роки тому +2

      Well.. I guess its like marmite, you either like it or you don't. I don't. lol.. In their defence, I guess they are trying to be different, rather than just have a neutral style which will appeal to everyone. I have seen on some older street triples, a conversion kit, from two headlights, into a single bigger one. I wouldn't mind something like that as a contemporary style.
