- I have owned my 2020 Triumph Street Triple 765 RS for one year already!!
In this motovlog I will take you with me on a short rideout and share some answers to the most common questions I typically get from you guys via the youtube comments section and they are
1 - Comfort (Rider height/weight)
2 - Wind protection
3 - Mid range/performance
If you have any further questions please let me know in the comments section!
Camera - gopro hero 8 with media mod

I am also close to a 1 year ownership of my street triple RS MY 2020. I got the bike without the windscreen and bought this after about 6 months. I can answer to your followers: it makes a noticable difference, especially in between 40-80 mph. Above 80mph (German Highway) you still getting a lot of wind on your chest.
It makes the difference in between actively noticing the Wind and not minding to much.
Great Video!
Your comment is pinned thanks
How do you both feel about the ergos? It’s identical to a Daytona, just with bars to make you more upright and less bent right? So how bad is it for longer rides?
@@Fee.1 I cannot really compare it to a daytona as I never owned one.
I am 1.85m. My body is in upright Position, only slightly bended forward. Footrest is high up so your legs might be tired after a few hours. I am just back from the "grande tour des Alpes". 3500km within 10 days was possible but I was pushing my own Limits.
I would say 4 hours is comfortable, after 7 hours a day my knees Hurt.
is German highway at 80mph supposed to be more windy than American highway at 80mph?
Just coming up to a year ownership of my RS and totally agree with you about the bike.
Dose it all for me, can easily plod to work on it, then take the long way home and have fun on it.
Went out and did a 6 hr ride on it this week with no problems at all...very comfortable and capable bike imo, never fails to make me smile when I’m out. 👍🏍
That's exactly it you can go so slow on it yet when you want to it opens up into a bit of a riot but in a controlled manner
I think there's a reason the street triple is so well-received by many. It's a proven platform that has existed for many years and it just keeps getting refined. Despite the release of the 890 Duke, I still believe the Triumph is on a league of its own and provides an excellent all-around riding experience. Thanks for posting the review!
Once there is an 890 demo I will be booking on to compare it
You've got to love a Street Triple. I had a 675 R, the most fun bike I've ever owned. I'm quite tempted to get an RS one day.
Agree with all your comments. I ride a ton of bikes and never have I once felt this bike was lacking in any way. 👍
It's always a pleasure to ride 😊 appreciate your opinion 👍🏼
Testament to your bike is its predecessor the 675, on which Gary Johnson won the 2014 IOM TT. Thats how good these Triumphs are.
I loved my RS (previous gen), stuck clip ons on it for track days and the accessory fly screen was just enough to get the airflow over the top of my helmet when tucked in on the tank. 22K miles In a year and did everything on it, only sold for my Daytona because I wanted something more track dedicated, would love to to have it back for a road bike 👌
The guy that tuned my bike races a 765RS you can get after market fairings for them too... he builds them for customers also so it seems to be the thing to do
@@BikesofRye I considered it after I built one at my old work with road fairings it was in MCN/fast bike mag etc, but it was just well out of my budget range to do it on mine.
Did you ever drive 3+ hours at a time? How were those trips?
I'm the owner of one 2018 RS since 2 weeks ago, it's not the 2020 model but comming from a 2006 carburator Hornet, it's a crazy improve!!.
HELL!! this brakes are awesome!!. Your videos had helped me to discover the best all day moto. I'm in love whith this 765 engine and parte ciclo. Cheers from Barcelona, this days sun and 20ºC in our mountain curves :)
Ah you have the roads and the weather where you are would be perfect for the 765 👌🏼
Not sure if you have the Brembo master cylinder like on my 20, but if so, definitely try turning it up to 21. The responsiveness of the brakes is even more incredible.
I just picked up my 2018 Street Triple RS in black and I absolutely love it. Such a cracking motorcycle. Can't wait to put some real miles on it.
I have 8k on my 20 MY and still puts a smile on my face every time 😄
@@rudolphcarr It really is addictive. Just got back from a 3 hour ride out, cleaned it and immediately wanted to go back out! Haha.
Very nice enjoy it 👍🏼
Bought R version month ago. In the same colour. I thoought it would be nicer in black, but this silver was stunning when compared on my own eyes. Im just on 500km, but totaly best bike I've ever ridden.
The silver is very metallic isn't it in person you don't see that in pictures
Awesome summary, very accurate.
One place I get a different experience from you is the "attention" the bike receives. I came to this bike from a 2011 Speed Triple which was red, and I think looked awesome. Now that bike grabbed lots of attention and always had a crowd around it, looking and pointing/judging. However, my 2020 765 RS doesn't really get the same attention. People seem to look at it and are like, meh!
For me the most important thing is how the bike makes me feel and I am not concerned whatsoever what others think.
I would also be interested in hearing how you get on with the media mod. I use a GoPro hero 9 with windslayer foam and it does a good job, but the media mod should definitely be an improvement.
Keep up the good work!
To be fair the colour isn't the loudest option but the belief I get is that it just appeals to the masses.
Mine also sounds louder than normal 🤣
As for the media mod it still isn't perfect as you can tell in the video there is 'clipping'
The media mod is shody.. once the weather gets warm, it overheats and sound doesn’t record. Instead, buy the old school mic adapter along with an artman (Amazon US) housing.. thank me later 😉
This will be a good season for bikers I feel
I hope so bro 🙏🏼
Why would be so better than the past ones we all had before ?? I don’t think so maybe the traffic will be less due to the COVID-19
My fav bike. I had the street R previous gen and it was great. If I still loved in the UK I would get the RS in a heart beat.
Road conditions are not good enough where I love now for such a nice bike.
Where are you living now? Good to know you would buy again I think that's the most defining factor for a motorcycle review
Lovely stuff mate, watching on tv.. looking forward to this . Love this bike
Appreciate that thank you very much that means a lot 👍
Definitely a bike id consider if i were thinking about coming away from a superbike. Like you pointed out looks/sound/components 🔥🔥 it’s a keeper bro.
Will keep me happy for another summer for sure 😉
@@BikesofRye 👌🏻👌🏻😎
Getting ready to watch this one; I hope its good as I love this bike and will be getting one in about 6 weeks.
Just finished it and I was not disappointed. Thanks for the review. Your bike is awesome. I can't wait to get mine.
You're welcome - what colour are you going for?
Nice video! Thought I’d share a few tips. I’m 90 kilos and I went with stiffer springs in the big piston forks. Makes a massive difference. Best is to find a suspension tuner in your area. For the fly screen visor, I’m 5-10 and experienced worse buffeting with it, so I took mine off. Lastly, I can’t tell if you have tank pads but I have the tech-spec and love them. Feel way more connected to the bike.
Thanks for the feedback I do plan on having the bike set up for my weight cheers
I was stuck between 765RS and the new tunono 660 and I'm now swaying more towards the 765RS great video mate 👍
Well if you consider the price of the Tuono... it just demonstrates how very well priced the 765rs is
Tuono is too down on power. I would look at the 765 RS and 890 R. The KTM definitely would have been in the running for me if they were available at the time.
Wow that full system sounds LOUD. I cannot deal with that drone. Had a toce on my 2019 RS for exactly 10 km, with the dB killer in, stock headers. My friend loved it. Sounded great if you were hearing the bike go by. But, gods, that drone just was NOT happening. And I wear proper ear plugs.
With ear plugs I can easily tolerate but saying that I am not using this bike as my main form of transport... its just a toy
@@BikesofRye we often go touring with ours. Gets super annoying on longer rides at low rpm cruising speeds
Nice vid mate, I'm an older guy looking to jump onto a Street Triple 660 soon. Was looking at other bikes, but you have convinced me that a Triumph is the way to go. Cheers.
It's always worth taking a demo bike out for a good hour see how you get on
I came from a CB650 to a Street Triple 675R ....The Striple is in a league of its own as far as I'm concerned. Its light, incredibly nimble, smooth, even 'poodling' along in higher gears, as you say it doesn't 'chug' ...Sounds great....(Like the growl on your 765)....whats not to like. I have to agree with one of your other contributors though about one aspect...The colour scheme is a bit uninspiring..understated perhaps!...My Bike is Black 'n' Red which is far superior.
Hi Brian, how do you find the ergonomics and comfort of your Street Triple in comparison to the CB650? I’m looking for something a bit more powerful at the moment but don’t want to sacrifice to much comfort on the longer trips.
Cheers mate.
@@LDrift I owned the earlier incarnation the CB650F I found the transmission sounded and felt very harsh but ergonomically it was fine so I cant really comment on the new version However, I prefer my Striple. Both have the 'sit up and beg' stance, and adjustment of the handlebars/controls can make a big difference. Comfort wise on the 'bum' is okay. If you watch any review about the 675 or the later 765 you will see the Street Triple has a unmatched reputation in power, comfort and being a very nimble motorcycle in its class.... buy one, you won't be disappointed..Ride safe.. greetings from España
@@brianperry Thank you for this. You’ve given me some great insight here. Now it’s time for me to head to Triumph for a test ride.
Ride safe! Thanks, from Australia.
Great video, I have street triple 675 R and absolutely love it, I have just fitted a quick shifter and now love it even more. Keep the videos coming I am definitely getting tempted with a 765 RS👍
Good to hear - now you have ridden with a quick shifter could you ride a bike without one now?
Bikes of Rye definitely not no going back now 😂👍
Great video fantastic bike even having the speed triple rs i would love a street triple rs i think they are an amazing bike stay safe looking forward to more videos 🇬🇧👍
Thanks for continuing to give me positive feedback appreciate that
Exactly one year today since I collected mine. I agree on all points you made except my bum tend to get a bit sore after a while on long rides.
I had a Street Triple R '15 before this one and even if that was a great bike the '20 beats it in every way.
Interesting what you say about the comparison between your older bike I was always curious about that
I had a 2012 675 and loved it till it got written off, now got a 2018 765 s smashing bike supper smooth, perhaps not as much character as the 675 but still a fine bike, would highly recommend any of the version's.
Triumph have got this bike properly sorted
I had a 2017RS and am 6ft2 it was perfectly comfortable even over long distances.
I have Japanese bikes, BMW K bike, and Harley. Now I want a Triumph.
Triumph build quality is very good in fact you would class it as a premium manufacture to the likes of BMW or Ducati
Can't believe you done what you did with the car overtaking. Goes to show people shouldn't do onboard commentary
Very reckless especially with a bend up ahead, lucky the car driver appeared to have sense.
Oh and Auto bahn if you're in Germany ;)
Nice bike
I also own a 2020 765 Street triple. I have to disagree with you on the mid range power. There is more than enough mid range power. I would not recommend this bike to a newer rider. It will get you in trouble! It will easily power wheelie in first and second gear no problem. There are plenty of videos on UA-cam of people test, riding this motorcycle and gushing on the mid range power. Other than that, well, the video, I was nice to see another 765er!
Great video, and I agree with everything you've Said! I get a sore lower back after a long ride but that's just me haha keep it up mate!
Thanks bro
7:50 The cheek on that one! I'd be dropping a couple of gears lol
It was a good demonstration of the torque the Street has 😅
Need a 2 year update and what if anything is different from yours and the 2023
I will be lucky to get given the 2023 to test ride. You will get the likes of TMF or 44teeth give you their opinions way before me.
"downsized" from an S1000R. 0 regrets. Liked the beemer but this is better. Had it exactly a year end of March. Never missed a beat. Total bargain.
I would guess you are still as comfortable and can ride with the same confidence
@@BikesofRye yeah, as comfortable. Lost power and weight but better handling has resulted in a better owner experience. I'm a back road scratcher, S1000R wasted on them, couldn't use power available.
Never stopped riding here in one of the free states. I feel bad for those under an iron fist. Picking up a 2021 R Monday.
She's mighty nice and I would have one not this year though but next I will be lookin around and one of these is definitely in the frame good watch cheers : )
Just love this bike.
Nice 765RS...got one myself and converted the bike to a Daytona for the track. Basically the same as yours but with clip-ons, race fairing, spark exhaust. Couple of track vids are on my channel.
It is a full on track bike then or do you use it for the road too?
The 765RS is a full on track bike. I have a Moto2 765 for the road. [I had thought of using the Moto 2 as a track bike but that is too nice and 'expensive' to drop/crash.]
The street triple to 765RS track bike took me about 2 months to build.
I thought I was listening to Piers Morgan. 😅
Btw I’m seriously considering this bike the RS version. In Singapore, with a tropical climate of 24-32 degrees celcius, I believe having wind on my face would be awesome
Love the STRS but I don't like the current TFT. Its the only thing that puts me off buying one. The one on the previous model was far better. What are your thoughts on it?
I share on another video why I don't like the display but yes agree I am not keen on it
I was confused about this bike but niw this video, I want one
I’m 1 minute in , please god don’t tell me it’s been a nightmare 🤞 seriously close to ordering one of these as my 2nd bike ! 🤣
So are you ordering one
How did triumph get on with fixing your tft dash problem would be interesting to find out why it went wrong
This is still in progress will hope to update soon
Good review, I did like and subscribe.
That was a "little bit" of a silly thing to do when that car was overtaking you though, don't you think. Just saying... 🙄
Let him overtake as he was already halfway through the manoeuvre, them just blast past him at the next opportunity.
Another great vid. Do you plan on doing a track day? 🙂
I do plan on a track day and need to attend a loud day 😅
My previous bike was an mt-10, i sold it because it started to feel a bit much on the streets of a crowded city. Weight, fuel consumption, heat it produces and its width ( cracked 2-3 side mirrors while filtering hahaha) my question is. Does street triple has any issues about the reasons i listed because i want to get one as my next bike and i mainly ride in the city.
Ok so the 765RS is very capable but doesn't feel too much in the city as it is very docile at low speeds. Fuel consumption for me is 50mpg. No heat build up from engine to be honest either. I would say the bar end mirrors could be tricky with filtering but you need to be aware of them and adapt
I'm about to buy this bike. It comes with 2 years factory warranty. Should I get the extended? Is it worth it? Please advise and thank you 😊
If you plan on keeping the bike for longer than the 2 years and you're putting on 6-8k or more a year in miles then I would personally take it. Though that being said I am confident in the bike mechanically
Awesome video man.
Glad you liked it
Great video mate 👍
Thanks 👍
This has secured my decision on investing in this bike post-lockdown
Glad my review has helped you out 👍🏼
You will not be disappointed. I would cross shop it with the 890 R though.
Took time out for the inner child in the tunnel.
Couldn't resist 😉
I just can’t , no matter how hard I try. Keep the shiny side up.
wow , love this bike
Thanks me too 😁
Do you recomend this bike? I probably buy the new one but R versión, i came from a honda tornado 250 cross, what u think?
Are your bar end mirrors as standard if not what ones are they and where did you get them from please
They are standard from Triumph on the RS models
Hi mate, great sound ! are you using the stock exhaust ?
Sorry, just saww at the end of the video. Can you tell me which model of SC project are you using ? sounds amazing
ua-cam.com/video/L2MVJwKHGvU/v-deo.html
Whats the servicing costs like ? Heard a major service was upwards of £750 .
I feel this could be worth a youtube video 😏
@@BikesofRye the 12000m service probably is that much, but it is valve clearances etc - so probably to be expected?
Love the videos and the bike bro! (Found this new ish? channel). Ride safe!
Thank you and yes a year in the making with motorcycle content cheers
7:16 you confused me a bit because you start off saying the midrange is a bit disappointing but then you continue that “it’s a mid-range bike/motor” not a v2 or a i4. Not sure how to take that 😂. I am however taking it on faith that you would have pulled away much quicker after that if you’d dropped a gear? Because I can’t handle the ego damage of minivans overtaking me if I go spend the coin on a triumph 😂
A twin is torque and in-line 4 is top end... so a triple sits between trying to achieve both of these traits. I am pretty sure if I was in 2nd instead of 6th there would be quite a difference in acceleration......
You mentioned that you even got your girlfriend sitting back and still you were comfortable. Question: was your girlfriend comfortable enough? (for the standards of a sports bike, at least...)
It would be journey length dependant and yes as sports bikes go it isn't so extreme...Though of course the bike isn't built for 2 people up I just was surprised it wasn't too bad compared to my R6
Lovely bike mate. Has the maintenance been expensive?
I will post a video about this soon 😊
Great video. Are you using a gopro with a media mod?
Hi yes and it isn't working quite as well as I hoped
@@BikesofRye Why is that?
@@TheBikeFather You can hear the popping I get in this video at times
I have the same model, year and colour and have owned the bike since September 2020 from new. I have just recently put it through its first service at 600 miles. My question is how do you find the quickshifter? I feel mine could be a bit smoother than is it. Does it get smoother the more miles you put on? Or maybe I need to rev higher when changing gear? Would like to know how yours is or anyone else's as I have heard different reports, cheers
I've actually commented on a video about the quick shifter it is very good but not perfect... sometimes in higher gears there will be a noticeable pause which is rev range dependant. Also don't use the down blipper at slow speeds and low rpm
Looks ok to fast for me but different bikes for different people
I think its fast enough when you want it to be however always very docile
What is your exhaust set up? It's quite loud.
SC project, titanium headers and slip-on
Is the throttle really smooth or twitchy? On off throttle?
It is very smooth
What is the fuel range?
Depending on riding I reckon I could get 160+ miles out of a tank if I tried. It is very good on fuel I average iirc 46.5mpg
Hi, I purchased a TST 765r last August and was considering upgrading the exhaust to an SC project like yours, do you know if these are uk legal and will pass MOT when the time comes?
Emissions are not tested on motorcycle and test is carried out after three year old. Its highly unlikely it will be an issue with regards to noise level but if so you can always pop the standard exhaust back on it is so very easy to change can take you 10minutes
Is that a full system exhaust or just an end pipe?
Full system
@@BikesofRye Nice. Cost?
@@JZHoolin ua-cam.com/video/BaylNc4B99M/v-deo.html
Did you ever ride the 675?
Where did u get the sc project?
7:47 hahaha NOPE !
Honestly an SUV trying an overtake a bike... So glad you were recording shit lol.
It's the first time a car has tried to over take me 😇
Just got mine. Don’t suppose you could check something for me? I’ve noticed on mine the throttle tube actually rotates backwards a little... Does yours do this?
Hi when you say it rotates is this when you twist the throttle to the throttle stop?
@@BikesofRye so when the throttle is in its neutral position, there’s about a 5mm gap in the throttle tube housing that allows the throttle itself to rotate forwards (shouldn’t have said backwards before) into this gap. Felt really weird when under heavy braking. I’ve heard people say this is to cancel cruise control on other triumphs, but of course these don’t have cruise control. So wondering if it’s been fitted by mistake or all triumphs just have them?
How is the pillion comfort if u plan to do long rides with your partner ?
If I planned to do so then I would look to change the rear spring
@@BikesofRye ohh I see thanks a lot and great to see u back on the bike. ❤️
Thats my fcking dreambike 😍
what you riding now?
"silly speed like 100 miles per hour +.."
Germans who are watching this video: *_*
FYI 149mph is the top speed :)
That was a dick move at 8.00 on that car. Not cool.
Mike .E
Wait.....you have had the bike for a year and only ridden 3,000 miles? Wtf....no business giving anyone an opinion. You havent even ridden enough for a damn oil change.
The bike has had two oil changes actually
