The street triple is incredible. Take it from me. Over 9K miles on my 2017 675R, and it's been rock solid.
I have a 2010 Street triple R, black with gold wheels and i really love it! I love everything about it, the headlights the exhausts everything! I also have a quickshifter and whenever i go out everyone looks at it like it's a limited edition bike or something.
I have a 2009 Tripe R that has never had any problems! Don’t hate on my ride Yammie 😉
Mine had really a problem every time I went for a drive... Was an amazing bike to ride but yeah
Doesn't have all those problems he tells
Only the alternator can be a problem and the headstock bearings, but that's a motorcycle problem, so yeah a really good motorcycle and ride really perfect 👌👌
2009 no problems and 40k km great bike .
2010 r in black and gold. No issues here and goes like stink!

Where the f*** is my fact
I ordered a 2024 ST Moto 2 in white and it will be here in Michigan in June. Nothing like a Triumph Triple. That motor hits a sweet spot for me in terms of HP and Torque. Plus, that Triumph build quality is so nice. Love the way they hide the cables. Keep up the Triumph love Noobster.
Daddy Yam! I just got a job working for Triumph in Melbourne Australia and I already love the Street Triples. This video just made me like them more!!!
This video makes me feel great about my recent purchase. I just got a 2022 street triple RS and it’s so amazing
Thanks for the info Yamoob! Was set on a first Gen, but now thanks to you, I'll be shopping from 2013 onward (plus that's when ABS was first offered!)
Nice info mate, was looking at a 2010 model
Are we just going to gloss over the fact that Yammie said he might be getting a Daytona 765?
;)
@@yammienoob I'm curious as a consumer. Is it true they upgraded to the 765 to keep the same power output and meet new emissions regulations? I'm very curious as to the true difference between the 765 and 675r. Either way I'm very excited for you man! And very much looking forward to that video
I love my 2010R. Zero complaints. Power everywhere you need it.
I have a 19 Street Triple RS and I love that beast of a bike. Far outclasses it's competitors in my opinion.
I want a triple what year and trim should I look for?
I did what papa yam said and slapped a quickshifter on my 2019 R ($600 for parts/labor) and doesn’t void the warranty if it’s dealer installed. And it being a 19 it has a tft display so you pretty much get the whole package
@@joseserrano1295 2022 gang
Thanks to Sir Yam’s constant inceptioning of Triumph, I finally got the 2020 Speed Triple RS and it is purty sweet!
Aside from a few bits of “character” (i.e. the single-sided swing arm squeaks sometimes, it doesn’t have the updated LEDs and still relies primarily on white-ish halogens, the quick shifter once every blue moon blocks my shift from 2nd-3rd, and the seat is a bit too firm making longer commutes less comfortable), the bike is as smooth as it gets.
I've got a 2016 STR (last year of the 675) and it has been dead reliable. Love it so much.
I just bought a 2014 street triple R twos weeks ago and I can’t stop riding it. Such a fun and smooth bike. I’m in love with it. The bike is practically new.
I recently bought a 2015 Speed Triple, and the Triumph Triple is easily one of the smoothest and most enjoyable power plants in all of motorcycling.
I got 2019 RS and I am in love every time I ride. 🏍❤
I just wanted a Street Triple RS, and now I have it, brand new RS 2020...what a bike...

Love your videos man. Thank you.. A fan of yammie noob.
Ive had a dozen or so bikes and the triple is my absolute favorite for general hooligan riding.
I've had the RS for 7 months now. It handles like a PEACH in slow traffic. It can be called "firmly sprung" but WOW that suspension and brakes kit is worth every penny. Don't settle. Get the RS. It goes at 10km/h as smoothly as it does 240. My bae ❤️❤️
Dude share a video on you tube...

Proud to say I have a street triple r and a rokform case/mount. Great video, Yammie Noob
Lovely video. Been a follower and finally Got it!
Mate, I love this video, such great content and so funny.
Just drove the triumph street triple RS as a noob. Initial fear was it might be too much. But no, it was so easy to drive…..
Did my driving lessons in Germany on suzuki sv650 as a 50 yo guy, then passed exam (motorbike unrestricted) and then rented Honda cbr650r for a weekend. Drove it to my ability for about 1000 miles during a weekend roadtrip. No problem there. Was not afraid to open it up and see what it could do, but not on the twisties (yet). I must say: very nice bike.
Then, last weekend, i did my test drives on Triumph street triple RS. Test drive was only one hour. Wanted to drive the R but it was not available. But RS is close enough.
Of course, with the TSRS, you feel that there is so much more on tap, but I stuck within my own limits, so no problem. Did not venture to driving mode sport or track, but stuck to rain and road modes. More than enough for me to play with, getting to know the bike….. Did open it up a bit and wow… 🤩. But also it was easy to drive in city traffic. Now plan on buying the street triple R as own first bike. Even nicer to drive than the Honda due to more torque down low. And I did like the Honda….
Btw, the second bike I drove is Trident 660. Also very very nice and fun to drive. But I am afraid I will get bored of it too quickly. Would gladly take it as loaner bike though or somewhere as rental…
So prefer the Street triple. It does feel like the more long term bike for me. Because you can grow into it and unlock its’ potential while you gain the experience. The R is be more than sufficient for me. No need for the extra potential of the RS. Am not a racetrack driver, so find extra cost of RS over R not justified.
I recently purchased a 2020 Kawasaki ZH2 and I am in love. Hypernakes are a blast!
Watched the video for at least 10 times in the past 3 years, and I got a 2013 street triple now. I truly love the bike. Strongly recommend one.
As an owner of a first gen 2008 street triple.. You hit the nail on the head lol. I have some sort of issue that keeps me from riding about once a year for the last four years, and normally its a battery issue. Though most can be solved through leaving it on a trickle charger but its just a band aid. Cam chain tick can be solve with a louder exhaust ;)
Totally agreed!! Triumph really needs to bring the Daytona is regular production models..
A German motorcylce magazine did (or better: tried to do) a 50.000 km endurance test with a 2017 Street Triple 765. After 20k km the intake valve was ripped of and fell into the engine, caused a complete engine failure. They got a new Streety, restarted the test and after 30.000 km the intake valve of another cylinder was ripped of and caused another engine failure. Some users had exactly the same problem and experienced an awful service from Triumph. So nope, no Street Triple for me.
Aaaaand, my friend just bought a 2017 765 RS. And we both love it to bits. Should be coming next week after the PDI
Absolute love my 2019 RS. Best looking street out of all the models.
Got myself a 2020 speed triple rs and its amazing
Just got my 2021 street Triple R 775 and I love it. It came with the quick shifter like the rs
I was going after one of these, but I ended up with a 2015 Shiver 750. I love it, and unlike a ninja, not many people have them

Me: I was already staring at it.
My Dad bought a Street Triple RS 2020 a few weeks ago... and its Freakin awesome😍
Yammy is your dad bro. Get the DNA test from Maury.
Had an RX, brilliant bike, super looks and it had the quick shifter.
Just bought an RS, even more brilliant, however the RX really looked great in the matt silver combined with red color scheme. Big fan of Triumph, looks and feels really high quality, they use awesome components like ohlins and brembo. And its so easy and comfortable to ride. Glad I’m back after a few good years with ktm.
Best handling middleweight out there it just loves bends the induction raw is to die for I have a r version 2020 I absolutely love it I have arrow exhaust on it
unpopular opinion but think they look great from every angle other than full fat front on
I had a 215 RX and now have a 2018 RS, best 2 bikes I've ever owned!
Got my 2022 RS model yesterday. Fuck the ride home was scarily smile inducing.
I used to track day a Daytona 675 (2008). God, I loved that bike.
Yammie, I've got to know, if you had the chance to buy a 2008 street triple r would you? Or are they too problematic? I really need the advice
I have a 2008 Speed Triple 1050 and I find that it handles well. It cant slice like my R6 can but it holds its own and is extremely comfortable to ride.
I have 2011 speed triple and can’t understand why people would prefer a street, and also can’t understand why they haven’t made a Daytona with the 1050. Yammie is a speed triple hater though. But if your a new rider maybe the street triple is a better overall bike. The 1050 will put some hair on your nuts
675 as first bike grows hair on balls. 1050 as first bike grows hair on chest.
I’ve had my 2018 street triple rs for a year now and it’s the best bike I’ve ever had or ridden, it’s so smooth in the power band, if you have the opportunity too get a 2018 I would highly suggest it. There is a current recall on the front brakes but it’s 100% covered by triumph.
Hey Christopher! Quick question for you........have you had any problems with your TFT screen? Looking to buy a 765, but can't decide between the R or the RS. Do you still have the bike? 2020 onwards, the R has a standard screen with an up and down QS. Tempted with that one because I have heard horror stories about the screens failing on earlier models. Your insight would be useful. Infact, anyone out there, let me know your thoughts. Cheers 👍
@@arryt3912 still have the bike, have had no issues of any kind with it but I've only put 4000 mile on sense April 2019
I have a question about your videos, where did you get the videos that you put as memes like the one we saw in 09:46 or 10:22 (for name just 2 of them) ?
Do you recall how the 675 Striple engines compare to the Daytona engine? Does it actually have a meaningful surplus of torque over the race replica or is it just a gimped version with a lower rev ceiling?
1:33: "I bet that thing sounds pretty killer"
Me with my 125 with stock exhaust: 😥😥
I wanna like this but can't just get over how the front end looks.
The old headlights were absolutely terrible. The new look is amazing tho! Im split between a z900 and a street triple.
I’m 6’ 2” and fit way better on the Z900. The four cyl is soooo smoootj
Nothing wrong with bug eyes!
Papa Yam, but you forgot, the class leading naked bike is the 890 Duke R now.
Overall street is better than duke. It's not always about power.
Except that sounds alright. Not as addictive as STR. But amazing motorcycle.
So i was interested in a Triumph. I kept reading how Triumphs are great bikes. finding out Yammie is a triumph simp sent me. So I bought one. (Closest dealership is 2hrs away) 2020 Street Triple RS. 0 miles. Dealership loaded the tune and put down 3 miles. I Had the bike 4 days, put down 280 miles and it developed an oil leak by the headgasket underneath the exhaust port. I’m guessing HG or porous casting. Here we are 2 weeks later & all I get for an update is “the mechanic that was working on it left early. I’ll have to call you back tomorrow” I’m avoiding triumph like a plague from now on. Should’ve stuck with Yamaha 🤦🏻♂️
Just bought a 2022 street triple after my z650. Literally a dream. Night and day
And you can set the RS on rain mode and have it as your first bike ever. (btw in here the R already comes with the QS)
Owned a 2014 speed r but now have 2018 street RS, best bike I have owned.
Sold my Z900 for a 2018 Str 765rs. Such a beast. One of those bikes that does ALOT of things really well. Though doesn't do one thing perfect but thats the compromise.
Literally was just looking at getting one
Current 765 Street Triple RS is very good, I prefer the extra torque of the 1050 Speed Triple RS. I found the current Speed Triple handles well to me. So I am swapping a 94bhp 660cc Street Triple in for a Speed Triple RS. I just love the torque!
I have a 2019 R and I love it. But it’s the only bike I’ve had except for a Ninja 250 that I learned on for about a month, so I can’t compare it to much else.
Hey Papa Yam, what slip on exhaust would you recommend for a 2010 street triple R that’s going to have a deep/low growl ?
2015 street triple is my first bike. I love it
thanks for your very well done reviews of the street triple, they helped me decide to get one, and I got mine today and it's an extraordinary, better than I had hoped for... Thank you
I'm riding right now a Kawasaki Ninja 650 2017 its a great bike i want to Switch within the year but i don't know what i should Take a Aprilia RS 660 or the street Triple RS Papa Yam what should i Take?
Bought a 2009 street triple today, wouldn't have ever even considered it if it weren't for you Mr. Noob
I've always wanted a triple eventually, their unique sound just sounds BEAUTIFUL!
What’s up Yammie beginner rider here wanted to know if sv650 is still your best beginner bike if not then what is really value your opinion thanks
If you don't like the weird headlights, you can convert them to a single headlamp and then this bike is absolutely gorgeous
I don’t think they’re weird at all, I love them 😍
I just love them and everyone fast knows its a TRIUMPH. 😄👍
There are kits to swap in round headlights on the 2nd gen. It makes the bike look fkin incredible.
What do you mean in regards to not getting the lowered seat height version? I’m 5”3 so I would literally have no choice lol. What’s the biggest drawback with the low seat height version?
I think it decreases lean angle
Had 2 of the 2015 ST 675s, great bike but a little flimsy (not a fan of styling) but a robust package (I bought it), but London moped gangs also agree and they were both nicked - develop a proper HISS system like Honda please triumph!
Breath yammie....you gotta breath! I get winded just listening!
I own an '11 STriple R. Bought it 2nd hand at 23k miles. Now has 34k miles and I've had the following issues:
- Coolant pipe failure
- Blowing exhaust
- Head gasket failure
Would I buy another one? Hell yeah. Why? It's worth it!
The above is due to the previous owner not loving it enough. If I had it from new, it'd be treated with ACF50 at least twice a year (I ride all year round) so the rusting on the exhaust would've slowed down. Pipes are harder to look after as rubber becomes brittle as it ages.
I agree w' the Yam though - take one of the newer bikes (2017+ imo). Older models WILL need wrench time.
Hey yammie, thoughts on the 765 Moto2 daytona?
2008 Street triple owner here.
Electrical problems all day long but its character building britishness, itsnot a flaw.
FYI the 2020 Street Triple R has the quickshifter and auto blipper as standard, I traded in my 2018 ST-R for the 2020 bike in May and it is a genuine improvement on the 2017/19 bike ,even more mid range and faster in the first two gears as well as some nice cosmetic improvements, I had a quickshifter fitted to my old bike but it's nice to also have a blipper now.
Hey YAMMIE! I work at a Triumph Dealer, we still have 1 Daytona 765 moto2 carbon left. I love Daytonas, but i dont want the special edition due to no rear seat, and almost irreplaceable carbon fairings. I jumped at 2 used Daytonas that came thru but they sold so fast i missed out. Currently im negotiating on a 18 street triple rs. But yeah, we still have the moto2 765, new brand new. Lmk if u are still looking for one
i love it!
I had a 2012 street triple R, flogged the shit out of it, wheelies, track days 35,000kms. Never had one issue. Loved it. It got stolen. Replaced it with a 2019 RS, had 3 issues with it, handles heaps better but the gearing is way to high and I miss the low down punch my old 2012 had.
F U to who stole your bike man.
I mean if you don’t mind spending money you can have the gearing changed I wouldn’t do it yourself if your don’t know what you’re doing. But you could always start off by changing to a different rear sprocket. More teeth=more low end torque but higher speeds suffer and higher Rpms at higher speed. less teeth=less low end torque but higher speeds and lower rpms at higher speeds. Since the gearing is to higher for your taste I’d go to a smaller sprocket doing this will give it less torque at lower Rpms also at highway speed your mpg will actually increase as well
@@trashman835 I ended up dropping a tooth on the front sproket. It totally transformed the bike and now it is awesome
What 3 issues did you have with it?
@@arryt3912 the quickshifter, the valve clearances both issues in first 1000km and then the engine blew at 19,000kms
It’s a great bike but I didn’t like the 2020 colors, any idea when 2021 models will be out in the market?
Damn it papa Yam! What’s wrong with the low seat height version? Some of us got short legs, ya know? Edit: I do own this bike, and after replacing the buggy headlights with a single round light, it’s become the bike of my dreams.
Whats your issue for the Low ride height verson? It has the same suspension but modified for shorter riders.. Im 5'6 amd anything with more then 32inch seat height is to tall but it also depends the shape of seat.
Was wondering the same
Had 3 triple triples now. Current is a 2022 765 RS. Best bike on the market
I just bought a new 2020 Street Triple R 3 weeks ago and it comes standard with a quick shifter, also I dont know if I can ever ride a bike without a quick shifter ever again.
I hear ya... I’m spoiled on the quick shifter on my KTM
Will be buying this this next year, after all this pandemic s@&t is behind us. Dying to go on a long ride.
im selling my twin charged nitro busa and buying the street triple
FYI, that rokform mount will destroy your phone camera's stabilization mechanism making it unable to focus. Vibrations from the bars transfer through any rigid mount system and any new smartphone with motion stabilization will run into this issue. I know Quadlock are working on a solution to this, but I'm not sure when they'll release it. I already had to have my iPhone 11 Pro replaced because of this, so just passing on the info.
peter voitikhov yep, happened to my iPhone aswell
