I appreciate you sharing how your thought process works when creating something. I LOL'd because I've very similar. It's like the "idea" becomes an obsession. When doing other things in the background that task is still running. It can be kind of annoying sometimes when you aren't able to get back to it but such is life (like you said). It's nice to not feel like the only person with this type of mindset.

Yup! The idea becomes an obsession for sure.

Thank you, Max, so much for sharing your experience and knowledge! I was feeling so lonely these days, trying to do aural dictations alone, singing, playing the flute alone…And not having anyone to show me the right way and to watch for me when I do mistakes…
I have had several times in my life in which I wanted to attend a music school, I even dreamed of having the time and opportunity to dive into music but it didn’t happen. Ironically I live next to a music academy but it seems like it is so far from me and Iike it is a mission impossible to apply to it.
But now after hearing your story I realise that it does not matter that much if you have the opportunity to study music or not because music is everywhere and for everyone. And everything happens in the right time - we just have to let it be as it is and what truly resonates with us will come.

That's great to hear Anna 🌞Thank you for the comment. That is definitely the way I experience and move through life. The way life unfolds is so surprising and unpredictable, and yet it isn't a mess of randomness. What comes is what's needed. A year from now you may find yourself studying at music school...or living in South America...or doing basically the same thing you're currently doing. There's no way to know and no need to know!

Question 5: Totally agree that challenging projects are the most enjoyable. That's where the growth comes from (at least for me as a hobbyist). However, some of the simplest songs make the most $. Glad I don't create music for a living. Edit: You have a great point on question 8: Combining complexity with simplicity (or clarity) is the holy grail. Thanks for the tip!

if these Q&As are a regular thing, any chance you'll start uploading these as audio only to podcast platforms?

Yeah I was considering that. If enough people are interested, I can do it.

Bro could you please please please make a Future Bass track ?
It's a request. It's my favourite genre. Just wanted to know how well, Studio One can perform.
By the by, your contents are awesome ❤❤❤

Yes, I'll have a future bass challenge in the next few months. I can tell you that S1 will have no problem at all with future bass. You can make it in any DAW. The important part is your knowledge and skills!

Yes overstimulation is hindering our musical creativity. What's the point to teach you for years how to cook before even cooking one food by yourself ? What's the point learning music theory without immediately beginning the procedure "trial & error" and learning along the way ? To my experience only learning about something means avoiding the actual work. And actual work means hands on trial & error, and learning along the way.

That's an interesting point - watching tutorials and 'learning' endlessly. When I was reading the question, my thoughts went to short attention span content and social media.
