i just love how everything feels polished but slightly rough around the edges - the abandoned school bathed in sunlight, dodie’s acoustic vocals, the creaks of wood and brushing of fabric. it just feels raw and i adore it

During COVID times there is a lot of kenopsia in this world...

the thing is most schools aren't actually fully shut despite being officially shut, especially primary schools. Children of key workers are still in school when their parents are unavailable to take care of them

@@bgm8253 it's bc she strums with her wrist (and also the side of her hand) on the strings too, so the sound doesn't last long and doesn't sound so strong

@@evansdaybellchambers I know what palm muting is but I think she’s doing something different. I’ve seen a couple of times this thing she’s putting behind her strings that looks like it’s there to mute it

the way that they were able to use so many different types of spaces to make her voice sound a certain way is phenomenal. there probably a musical term for this that im not clever enough to know.
