+Sahil Dogra Because this movie is doing something Marvel has yet to achieve, you know being realistic? What do you expect all of them to fight at the same time against a god-like creature without taking a breather?
Yeah thats awkward isn't it. Basically its fanfiction material, considering the reporter that was shot in the beginning when Louis interviewed the terrorist was apparently Jimmy Olsen. And they killed Mercy too? wtf
+JOK3RxSh07gun This may be hard for a fanboy like you to understand, but people have opinions, and sometimes they're not going to be the same as yours. Shocking, I know. But the opinions of those who hated what they did with this movie as just as valid as the opinions of those who loved it.
+JOK3RxSh07gun That's what happens when you hire Zack "Sucker Punch" Snyder to direct your movie and kick off the DCU. People might hate your movie and say negative things about it. And let me point out that I am not a hater and really wanted this to be a great movie but alas it was okay at best.
Just saw the movie and I fucking loved it!!!! Now critics are covering their ass's online with articles explaining why the film is breaking records and people are loving it. +SirWalrusII Not really. Riddler isn't a goofy guy. It was a Jim Carrey thing. Which isn't bad. Also, what's wrong with goofy Lex? Lex is known to be a goofy guy. Remember the Lex in the Reeve's movies. Also the one from the Superman: Brainiac Attacks movie. Also the one episode where Flash was in Lex's body in Justice League: Unlimited.
That fight sequence where Bats has to save Martha Kent felt as close as I can get to a Batman: Arkham Asylum/City/Knight/Origins movie. And it was glorious.
I honestly feel the Arkham Batman is the absolute best Batman, and that scene made me feel the same way. I felt like I was watching a cinematic Arkham scene. So basically, the scene that got me the most excited only got ne so excited because it made me think of something else.

I think people didn't like it that much because DC is probably competing with marvel and DC is trying too hard on getting a good movie out which typically makes the movie bad
+manz92 I tip my hat to you for saying that you disagree with Jeremy's opinion, but doing so in a very polite and considerate way. Thank you, much appreciated.
To be fair, this is the Batman that's been at the job for 20 years, and in the span of 2 years he finds out about Superman and co, WW, Flash, Cyborg, and Aqua Man. That plus the dream within a dream scenario and Lex's comment on the calling something from space should be enough to justify some kind of prep. It's the most obvious sequel tease in the movie, but it's also the 5th one.
At least Zack Snyder tries to make great movies, and he makes outstanding visuals; you could argue is style over substance, but I enjoy most of his films. Michael Bay is only explotions and sillyness.
+rickdeezy07dj I had more fun watching a Michael Bay movie than a Snyder. Synder's all about visuals. Bay's all about visuals, camera angles and comedy.
+adrianalfawolf2000 I really hope Jesse's Lex Luthor will end up getting stuff happening to him that makes him a little less frantic on edge all the time. Like over a couple films he ends up being a much stronger and more confident Lex Luthor. It'd be great. I like him, but he really didn't knock it out of the park like he should have.
Doomsday looks like Shrek, Ninja Turtles, Abomination and wet cement combined together to create the most unpleasing looking cgi model. And he isn't even given a character, just this big monster for the heroes to fight.
Believe it or not, when I heard the name "Martha" and the whole "Your mom, my mom's name bit." After all these years in following Batman and Superman, I never once said to myself "Batman and Superman's mom have the same name" That did catch me off guard I'll admit.
DC writers are kind of shit at coming up with names. Two-face was ALMOST called Harvey Kent, instead of Harvey Dent, because the writers forgot that their *flagship character* was named Kent...
Problems with BvS: - Lex should've been cast differently (perhaps Bryan Cranston) - No Doomsday - No Wonder Woman - All this combined would change the story quite a bit Problems with Suicide Squad: - Enchantress should've just been a cameo not a villain - Joker should've been the villain (so that these guys, especially Harley, have a need to band together) - No Boomerang (Even though I liked his character he should've been saved to be introduced in the Flash film, as his character served no real purpose and took up screen time) - Croc should've had a small backstory on how he's been trying to fit in and sacrificed himself or had a character moment in the sewer (instead was reduced to grunting muscle)
Bruce: Where's your mom? Little Girl: (points to building Superman destroyed). Bruce: Is your mom's name Martha. Little Girl: ...no sir. Bruce: Then fuck off.
I really hope that in a future movie they bring Doomsday back and make him a proper villain. Because in the comics, he may have started off as mindless, but eventually he begins to show intelligence and even speak. Also, as for an explanation for why he is still alive, the comics already have one. You literally cannot kill Doomsday. He may be dead for a few days, but he never stays dead. Plus, his body constantly adapts to whatever killed him previously so that he can't be killed the same way twice. So not even kryptonite radiation will hurt him after that.
no. He's bland as hell. his only reason for existing and his most epic moment was beating the entire JLA and killing superman. anything beyond that is pointless spectacle.
+Shawn Zamir FFXV Exactly, WB pissed away what should have been an incredible and serious "The Death of Superman" film because they wanted a 20 minute action scene.
+Arthus850 Didn't in the comics Lex use Doomsday's body in the creation of Superboy? There may be an avenue for that. I could imagine Lex escaping prison and using his resources and knowledge of Kryptonian physiology and biology to create a proper Superman killer, bringing back Doomsday or create Superboy or both.
+LeO2PaC that was lazy writeing at the part of the movie . i was like wth?! Batman u killed shit of ton of people so u could kill superman and just because his mom is same as urs u wil spare his life? wow bs
Kinda. The Watchmen were originally going to be the Charlton heroes. Rorschach was originally the Question but the entire way Moore wrote him was to be a darker Batman.
Frosty ! Some of the subplot I felt deserved their own movies e.g. the capital bombing should've just been exclusively to a man of steel sequel and not BvS
They cut out explaining story scenes from the theatrical version? Why would you do that? The ultimate edition made the whole movie make sense. Ive seen it 5 times and the complex things you can find in it are great. Not many movies have that rare rewatch quality. It's weird because you realise that lex luther owned that movie. Jesse Eisenburg/10
or more like the studio told him to take short cuts. i mean y would he made an uncut version thats different from the theatrical. his watchmen uncut was great but had a terrible theatrical release too.
***** There's about 30-40 minutes that was cut out of the film so it could keep a PG-13 rating, so who knows. Age of Ultron also had tons of minutes cut out, but unlike BvS, we won't see what stuff was taken out. Maybe the cut out content would've made me like AoU.
actually the 'martha is my mom too' thing is much deeper, it shows to Batman that Superman isn't just some God, but a mere man too, with a Mom. Plus Superman cares about his mom, another human, right before he's gonna be stabbed by Batman's spear
Mad Eye 21 actually even the death of superman is another extension of the theme, "superman is not a God, he is a mortal who can die as well" Just remember in this movie reality, superman is still treated as alien/god but not as a man yet. And with his death, the movie is trying to portray Superman is on human side with human values
"Hey Zach!!!" Yeah, bro? "I need you to jam two and a half movies worth of story into one." I gotchu fam. And that is how Batman V Superman, Dawn of Justice: Death of Superman. Apokolips edition was made.
Zach Snyder was the director and the film looked amazing minus a few parts. The weak point was the script and as far as I know Zach wasn't involved with that. I personally hope to see Zach involved with more DC films
There's so much going on in this movie to the point where ur lost and nothing makes any sense. The main things in this movie that I hate are jesse esinburg as lex luthor, the plot and doomsday. Jesse was so annoying. That was not good lex luthor. Jesse acted more like the joker than lex. The plot made no sense. The movie gave no real reason on why batman and superman were fighting. And then We find out at The end of why they are fighting is because lex is holding supermans mom hostage and if superman doesn't go kill batman, he's gonna kill his mom. Are you kidding me?!! Superman should've wanted to fight batman cuz he feels that batman puts himself above the law and takes justice into his own hands. This movie is mis titled, it shouldn't have been called batman vs superman. It should've just been called Dawn of Justice. And doomsday, first off, he looked absolutely horrible and secondly, he shouldn't have even been in this movie. DC y'all done screwed up big time.
+Andrew Farr I agree with you but I strangely still loved this movie. Some of the scenes, like the opening scene for example were so original and well executed it just makes up for the bad parts in my opinion (something I normally wouldn't say about a movie with an iffy plot). but that's my point! I don't get why Zac Snyder is getting so much hate when he wasn't involved with the writing. that was Warner Bros trying to advertise for the future movies. The look of the movie itself was beautiful so I hope Snyder stays on and just gets better writers and Warner Bros let's them actually make a movie
I actually liked that wonder woman was watching the news from the plane trying to decide whether she should get off and go help or stay and not miss her flight, gave an actual inside into why heroes dont appear in each other's independent movies even though they are part of the same universe, like she was trying to decide whether they could deal with it on their own.
+821lancevance So true. I thought it was gonna be shit and I had an awesome time watching it, such a shame the Internet consensus is labeling it as crap.
Everyone made fun of how batman changed character after superman mumbling Martha but I found it even more annoying that superman said Martha instead of Mom! I mean who does that??? Of course he would have said mom instead of her name, that is just lazy script writing.
Sure I'm supposed to hate the bad guy but if its a good comic book villain its a 'I love to hate him relationship'. This man child wasn't Lex Luthor. I hate the idea of my heroes killing anyone, period but I wanted someone to break this weener's neck. He was an annoying obnoxious, whiny man child who didn't deserve to have Lex Luthor's name. I don't know how anyone who calls themself a DC fan could defend his portrayal in this movie.....
6:00 Should be noted that Superman didnt go to Batman intending to fight him as Lex wanted. His intention was to get Batman's help. Batman wants to take Superman out throughout the entire movie, Superman never wants to really take Batman out. He hated Batman's style of justice but didnt want to fight him cause of it which is why he threatened him to stop instead of just ripping his head off. Batman is the aggrieved party in the movie. Which makes sense as the title is Batman v. Superman. Batman is the Plaintiff and Superman is the Defendant. The Defendant is the one who has harmed the Plaintiff.
+Al A Yeah, Superman didn't want to fight, but instead of persisting in trying to plead to Batman, he gave him a huge shove back. It's him saying "I don't want to fight" and then swinging a punch anyway. I know if he kept on pleading, Batman would have stopped eventually, they would talk, and there would be no fight, but what they had was a paper thin lead-in just to make them fight. The director and writers couldn't have come up with a better reason? This movie makes them look like amateurs.
The clock was ticking, because Lex had his mother. So he did use some force to try to get him to stop. He still didnt rip his head off, as he could have.
+Jedidiah Bowman You completely missed the point of that scene. If Superman just said, "Please save my mom," it wouldn't have been enough of a emotional trigger for Batman to stop killing him. It's the fact that he did say "Martha" makes Batman's mind completely snapped. You have to remember, Bruce Wayne is mentally unstable. Brands people, dreams about a giant man-bat eating him etc. In that moment, Batman realizes Superman has people who cares about him(Martha Kent and Lois Lane). He realizes if he kills Superman, he is also indirectly killing Martha since Lex said if Batman isn't dead, Martha will die. He has a flashback to the death of his parents and has a epiphany that if he kills this man, he is no different than the mugger who shot his parents. Batman's entire reason to fight crime is to make sure what no kid will ever experience the death of their parents.
+Mr White with the desert scenes, clark kent investigating and having a reason to not like batfleck, with led being shown as being more manipulative and calculated (especially with the reasoning behind the courthouse explosion), to lois lane being a potato to actually having use...the movie is definitely better.
The way they set up the fight between batman and superman is awesome. Like how Lex blew up the court and made it seem like Superman caused it and pissing batman off. Then they fight for 5 minutes and then they're friends. The build up was so intense and then a five minute death battle and they don't even finish it. The trailers are also false advertising SOOOOOO badly. It's still a good movie if you don't think of it as a batmanvsuperman movie.
+Luke Mcglinchey Yup, that's what the Flash said.... if Lois Lane dies, he goes rogue.... I don't want to see that. It's stupid!!! You do something like that after you already have 2-3 successful Justice League movies... and you make something like an else world, multiverse.... but you don't do that from the start.... The problem is I find it hard to believe they prepared a movie 10 years from now.
Okay, Jeremy? If they'd made Jesse Eisenberg's Alex Luthor more like Lex Luthor, what would even be the point of him being Alex instead of Lex? Because there's a point to him being Alex: the abuse that he suffered compels him to, in his own psychotic way, try to "save" everyone from suffering under a tyrant. And given how the movie hints at Darkseid, Superman may not have been the tyrant he was talking about.
give me campy and cheesy any day, which means I enjoy heroes who care about people and act like heroes. Why DC want to be so dark and gloomy? Superman use to be a wish fulfillment hero.
The main huge problem with this movie as tons of people have pointed out is they tried to cram about three movies worth of stuff into one and it's VERY noticeable. That being said, the cool stuff in it is REALLY COOL and I'm dying for a solo Ben Affleck Batman movie now. I never thought I'd say that but dude was an awesome Batman.
‘Movie critics’ criticizing Batman v Superman for being too dark & serious is a little hypocritical, wouldn't you say? Considering every time Marvel puts out a slightly darker movie, they write a puff piece editorial…...
Superman was forced to fight Batman in the The Dark Knight Returns. Supes didn't want to fight him then either but the US President forced him to do it.
+mali mall I don't know if it's just me but I felt like the first 1 hour and a half of the movie is just all the stuff from trailers filled with forgettable BS. Actually the whole movie felt like that to me. The only small "twist" we didn't know from the trailer is Superman doesn't want to fight Batman on the fight scene, which is stupid considering they spent like 2 years and 1 hour screen time building the conflicts. Could have enjoyed a bit more if I didn't watch any of those trailers. But well...
+Xavier Morrissey the flash looked like a dirty mexican with his long black hair in a pony tail and a beard. doesnt even look like barry allen whatsoever.
No he's somewhat correct, BvS was all over the place which even left me discombobulated the first time I saw it. They tried to accomplish so much that the way they wove the scenes together was outright ridiculous.
+TonioDoesGames I did too at that part and the bomb going off in the Capitol. Though I sort of saw the bomb one coming as every single movie nowadays does that thing where the sound goes completely silent before the big BOOM or other jump scare variant happens.
+TonioDoesGames That reminds me, was that an Easter egg for the Man-Bat? Because that's really what it looked like. I'm not jumping to the conclusion that he's going to be the next villain or anything, but it'd be cool if that was their basis for the monster's design.
Surely superman could have just sensed where his mother was and just gone f%^@! them up and saved her, rather than agreeing to do something when he had know idea if Lex would hold up his side of the bargain..
In another review, a person made fun of this, by having something written on a picture of "Martha" akin to "Why do you always seem to know when Lois is in danger, but not when I'm in danger?" (or something like that... Maybe it said "Why do you always know where Lois is, but not where I am?")... Your comment just made me think about that... & laugh...
I think there's a part where Supes actually goes looking for his mom, turns his super hearing on, but hears all the suffering of different people around the world. I think they took it out because it was too dark. Hopefully, it's in the extended edition.
I agree. That scene with Diana going over those video clips would have worked better that way. Likewise, the follow up meeting between her and Bruce at the cemetery.
A mess of a movie, I didn't hate it, though there were many things in it that I did hate. Batman V Superman had the potential to be one of the greatest comic book movie ever made, and in all honesty was botched pretty badly. There's certainly good things in it, but so much is crammed into this movie for the sake of setting up other films, that it forgot to be a coherent (good) story with fleshed characters, with clear motivations to one another. It's a film that poses many questions, and ideas, some of which are cool, but the execution of them is poor, in the sense that there's no real weight to any of it, stuff just happens, but with little story build up to any of it. Hopefully these DC cinematic universe films will get better as they go, but this film should've acted as a good jumping off point, and with the sloppy execution of it all really didn't do these future DC films any favors.
+Foxy Grandpa I like that they had unifying force to pit against the three. It seemed right if predictable. But instead of Doomsday, it should have been some Superman clone, paving the way for the introduction of Superboy..
I think the evidence of the lack of storytelling abilities by Snyder is the fact that most of the story arches are pointless and lead nowhere: Lex framing superman with the bullets was useless for the final result. Lex asking the senator for permission to bring the kryptonite was useless as it was easily brought anyways. Lois investigation is useless cause Lex himself reveals his plan at the end. The bombing of the senate made no contribution to the plot in any way. Superman has no dialogue nor personality and his lack of character development is evident when the reason he fights batman is cause he is blackmailed in two seconds by Lex (which also, Superman would be totally able to save his mom directly). And most of all, *LEX'S PLAN MADE NO SENSE AT ALL!* He is afraid of aliens who come from the sky and have super powers because we can't control them so... he creates an alien monster with DNA from the sky even more powerful whom he can't control?! And that is even worse taking into account Lex’s plan A was to kill Superman with Batman, so his plan B was creating a super monster when Superman was already going to be dead, so Doomsday was going to be on the loose just because. Also, the way the kryptonian spaceship worked was ridiculous, allowing anyone to create Doomsday that easily was so bad. Overall I think it was a terrible movie and as a fan of both superheroes, it hurt. Final note, I was so excited to see Wonder Woman, but her story is lacking weight as well. How can an easily photoshoped photo prove anything? And she doesn't even cross one word with Superman in the entire movie. *sigh*
I was about to consider refuting your statements, but then by what I've heard context that would quell many plotholes is present in the 30 minutes cut because WB was likely afraid 3 hours would be too long to have enough showings per day. Superman as a whole having more context but being shafted because he had a solo already [prioritize the newbies I guess...], more of Lex's motivation and planning [he apparently didn't appear until a considerable bit into the movie in an earlier cut], fleshing out the Africa scene better, Clark investigating Batman enough to grow a distrust of him [scenes of filming football game early in production], I could go on. I get the sneaking impression that a lot of the cuts to black were where footage was swapped around from a different edit/where full on cuts were made. This was a cut they were apparently sitting on when they submitted it to the MPAA in September 2015. Everything was pretty much done and ready, and then they shortened it again. If its better overall because of it, nobody in their right mind will complain if the movie is long. It costs the same as any other movie ticket anyway. If the Blu-Ray is a significant improvement, two things will happen in this order: -Fans will rejoice. [for a few moments...] -Fans will become angry they didn't get this cut.
The framing of Superman was to gain sympathy from the government to gain access to kryptonite, Zod's ship, and whatever other benefits from the government. The senator was also a rock in Lex's shoe, and he had to get rid of her; as she was going to block his import license for the large deposit of kryptonite. The bombing of Capitol Hill was both to assassinate the senator and to cause more controversy toward Superman; right after this scene, it leads to Batman stealing from LexCorp to obtain the large piece of kryptonite - which is connected to Bruce Wayne seeing the destruction of Capitol Hill on the news. Superman's development is still him trying to figure out why he's on this world, while losing hope in humanity - a throwback to Man of Steel. A lost Superman who isn't sure what to do when he tries to do the right things but still gets blamed for the bad; which is when he is seen with his human father in the mountains to discuss the 'bigger picture,' aka the flood analogy. Superman would not have fought Batman otherwise if he weren't blackmailed. This is evident from the very moment he meets Batman on the battlefield, he says, "Bruce, please - I was wrong, you have to listen to me." This shows a Superman finally seeing the bigger picture. Lex's reasoning are only half shown in this movie. We could speculate on his overall true intentions. What we do know is that Lex also does not trust Superman (despises Superman - he is no god!), and feels humanity requires a deterrent (which is his argument toward the senator) against metahumans and aliens like Superman. What he learned from Zod's ship is also speculation which can lead to the reasons why he created Doomsday, and why at the end he says that the bells have been rung. And, further symbolism of "if man cannot kill god, then the devil will," an act of desperation. Does it really matter to Lex if Doomsday kills everyone? I don't think so if it meant proving Superman wrong. BvS is also an introduction to the Justice League - so we're not going to get all the answers. As for Wonder Woman, why was she at the LexCorp party? Why did she steal from Batman? Is it really to steal a faked picture? Even Batman wonder - "Who are you?" Anyways, what Batman stole was apart of LexCorp's metahuman thesis. Wonder Woman is referred as a metahuman.
If u see spoilers for the ultimate cut it showed why superman was blamed actually, this is because KG Beast burnt all the people to look like they melted from their laser and Lex hires people saying it superman fault. U see more character development of Clark Kent and him as superman also the senator explosion the reason why that took place is because the person who lex hired told the truth to senior finch so before she could do anything he killed everyone . Also the reason why superman couldn't detect the bomb because of lead. It stupid how much this movie flows much better in the ultimate edition rather the one we were shown
HELLASgate7 personally I thought it was better than 7.5 and wanted to give it an 8 but felt 7.8 was fare. However as a DC fan I give an 8.3 as a casual movie goer I give it a 6.5
+HELLASgate7 Sorry, little boy, but i actually tried to like it. Infact, I really liked it until the batman stealing kryptonite part (Lex not included ipre that scene). If you're an actual Dc fan and not just a blind fanboy, you should see flaws in this movie (Weather you liked it or not, the flaws are glaring.) Also buddy, people like you who are willing to attack people for opinions makes you the loser. :)
I noticed that they killed Mercy, just like they killed Professor Hamilton in Man of steel. Also they were saying the camera man that dies in the beginning name was jimmy. Zack Snyder is killing off key characters who should mean more to the superman character later!
Even if I disagree with every negative point of yours, I still respect your opinion
+Captain America *fist bump*
+Jeremy Jahns I was your friend to Cap
+Jeremy Jahns I enjoyed the movie but the only problem I had was they over done the effects
+Jeremy Jahns Fist buuuuuuuump
Wow, that's coming from Captain America
People are talking about Cap v Ironman being better but honestly... Daredevil v Punisher is what we all deserve
truth.
You don't watch the Netflix series of daredevil? DD vs the Pun was so awesome!
+Tshegg dem that fight scene between them is so glorious!
As soon as i am done with catching up with The Flash, i have to start watching Daredevil.
Jewasaurus Rex wow i wish i have more time like you lol
So you're saying Aquaman was....aquard?
+Nick Carlson *sigh*... thumbs up
I love you 😂😂 lol
GOD DAMMIT CARLOS!!!!!
I mean......NICK
Boo!
+Nick Carlson O_O niceeeeeeeeeee
What about Wonder Woman taking on doomsday for a solid 5 minutes by herself whilst Lois drowns, superman also drowns and batman hides in a corner?
Lool
+Sahil Dogra lol I swear I was thinking the same thing like is she gonna get any help?
+Sahil Dogra At that moment she probably realized she's wasting her time her and shouldn't spend it on these losers. Except batfleck he's awesome.
+Sahil Dogra Because this movie is doing something Marvel has yet to achieve, you know being realistic? What do you expect all of them to fight at the same time against a god-like creature without taking a breather?
+Mixed Media Drowning is taking a breather? Is that an oxymoron?
It's going to be weird having both The Flash on TV and a different one on movies.
+Sri Majji multiverse magic!
Mak Manaman lol
Yeah thats awkward isn't it. Basically its fanfiction material, considering the reporter that was shot in the beginning when Louis interviewed the terrorist was apparently Jimmy Olsen. And they killed Mercy too? wtf
Just think of it like this the flash in the TV show is from a different parallel universe then the one in the movie XD
Assuming The Flash TV series continues long enough, yes.
This movie was written the way I would have written it when I was 11 and had no concept of what good story telling is.
true
+Zachary O. Ray Lol, this is a pretty good analogy.
+JOK3RxSh07gun This may be hard for a fanboy like you to understand, but people have opinions, and sometimes they're not going to be the same as yours. Shocking, I know. But the opinions of those who hated what they did with this movie as just as valid as the opinions of those who loved it.

The fuck would you know a good script if it rubbed you on your clitoris. Go watch some artsy gay movies like birdman fuck face.
Jesse Eisenburg would have been an awesome Riddler.
Yes!
+SirWalrusII exactly
Yes thank you that's what I have been telling everyone
+SirWalrusII Agreed.
+SirWalrusII Not really. Riddler isn't a goofy guy. It was a Jim Carrey thing. Which isn't bad. Also, what's wrong with goofy Lex? Lex is known to be a goofy guy. That fight sequence where Bats has to save Martha Kent felt as close as I can get to a Batman: Arkham Asylum/City/Knight/Origins movie.
And it was glorious.
+Dennis Claros unfortunately that's all you get from Batman. I expect he does that more in this movie.
I honestly feel the Arkham Batman is the absolute best Batman, and that scene made me feel the same way.
I felt like I was watching a cinematic Arkham scene.
So basically, the scene that got me the most excited only got ne so excited because it made me think of something else.
It was perfection mate
Straight out of the games!
Hands down best scene in the movie.
Gets me hard every time
The only difference is that he kills some dudes.
Channel CASenine WHY DID YOU SAY THAT NAME!!
"It's not cohesive, it's all over the place" and these very lines is why i didn't like the movie. :)
same
+JOK3RxSh07gun No, jeremy just put my opinion into words that made sense :)
+Bray Johnson never before have I watched a movie that was so on and off, great one scene and then the next scene is so trash.
Zero Cool
Completely agree, and that was just another reason i stopped caring about the movie somewhere around the halfway point :)
+Bray Johnson ummm? rewatch the movie their bud.
I really enjoyed the movie, i can sort of see why people didn't like it, maybe the build up, the way it was cut together etc, but i thought it was awesome, had me pumped up for it. So i'm happy with it.
Same
I think people didn't like it that much because DC is probably competing with marvel and DC is trying too hard on getting a good movie out which typically makes the movie bad
+manz92 Me too bro
+manz92 I tip my hat to you for saying that you disagree with Jeremy's opinion, but doing so in a very polite and considerate way. Thank you, much appreciated.
+manz92 Same bro.
My favorite part
WW: "why do you say they will fight?"
Batman: "I have a feeling".
Wut

+Fritobandito858 yea and when did batman became a clairvoyant lols
+Fritobandito858 He is talking about Lex Luthor literally telling him that Darkseid is coming
That ending was stupid af. I was shaking my head heading out the theater after that.
That extra who was crying loads of legit tears when they carry the coffin through Metropolis deserves best supporting actor
Me
I feel like Michael Bay and Zack Snyder studied at the same Film School or at the very least share notes
right
At least Zack Snyder tries to make great movies, and he makes outstanding visuals; you could argue is style over substance, but I enjoy most of his films. Michael Bay is only explotions and sillyness.
They actually were classmates. Not even kidding.
I don't hate Snyder but a choppy narrative with amazing visuals doesn't make a good movie
+rickdeezy07dj
I had more fun watching a Michael Bay movie than a Snyder. Synder's all about visuals. Bay's all about visuals, camera angles and comedy.
Apparently, Iron Man 3 is a better movie than Batman vs Superman
ikr
+Isaiah lol, because the "Mandarin" was obviously genius! haha
+mrbrowman But it actually was a legitimate shock, and admittedly creative.
+Isaiah I really liked BvS, and I absolutely hated Iron Man 3 xD
dora the explorer watch. limited edition
Watched it an hour ago, fuck the critics that's what I say the movie was awesome
Well, I'm glad you could enjoy this film where many others couldn't.
Nah
We enjoyed it, but not because it was good.
+Red Dead Runner
It's Terminator Genisys all over again: perfectly good movie shat on by everyone for not being how THEY envisioned it.
Fuck the critics? Why? Because their criticisms and problems were valid? This movie, while I didn't hate it, was an absolute mess
Anyone else think Jesse Eisenberg, based on how he was acting in this movie, could've been a better Riddler?
hell yes
He reminded me quite a bit of the Joker, but yeah I can see where you come from he would've made quite a good riddler
Jared Leto will be amazing.
Shane Benjamson Definitely. A lot of people argue he was a miscast, but in my opinion he was a misscript. That's a word now.
Doomsday reminds me of the Michael Bay Ninja Turtles
Doomsday looked like the Abomination from Incredible Hulk with some bones
He reminds me of the Troll from Lord of the Rings if he fucked a bony, grey Shrek.
Liaminator old
thomas garrett
Doomsday might as well put on a bandana.
Doomsday looks like Shrek, Ninja Turtles, Abomination and wet cement combined together to create the most unpleasing looking cgi model. And he isn't even given a character, just this big monster for the heroes to fight.
The movie should be called
Batman and Superman: Rush to Justice League
I need cinema sins to rip this movie apart today!
Same
pls do this!
honest trailer please
you do now they have to wait until it's on dvd
meep107 I know, but it's going be a long wait and a funny as hell trailer.
Tbh this movie was super confusing
The Ultimate Edition is super easy to follow.
+Galen Marek true that. Better movie by far. Should've been what was releases
This movie was convoluted as fuck
Nigga how
+Marvin's Room Really
I don't care about the Justice League stuff... I'd rather just have Aflec make more Batman movies.
+Chas Gregg TRUE THAT
Believe it or not, when I heard the name "Martha" and the whole "Your mom, my mom's name bit." After all these years in following Batman and Superman, I never once said to myself "Batman and Superman's mom have the same name" That did catch me off guard I'll admit.
Same here!
It was once on a random trivia instagram account and never once thought it would be a major plot point in a batman superman movie
DC writers are kind of shit at coming up with names. Two-face was ALMOST called Harvey Kent, instead of Harvey Dent, because the writers forgot that their *flagship character* was named Kent...
@@trequor they swapped k for d
@@trequor I mean marvel names are a bit silly and not realistic. I think DC is better at names to be honest.
I just got home from watching this movie and even though I disagree with every FUCKING thing you say I Respect your opinion.
Most of the time.

+Reece Stickman Calm down, fanboy
Fanboyism is strong with this one
Problems with BvS:
- Lex should've been cast differently (perhaps Bryan Cranston)
- No Doomsday
- No Wonder Woman
- All this combined would change the story quite a bit
Problems with Suicide Squad:
- Enchantress should've just been a cameo not a villain
- Joker should've been the villain (so that these guys, especially Harley, have a need to
band together)
- No Boomerang (Even though I liked his character he should've been saved to be
introduced in the Flash film, as his character served no real purpose and took up
screen time)
- Croc should've had a small backstory on how he's been trying to fit in and sacrificed
himself or had a character moment in the sewer (instead was reduced to grunting
muscle)
Cranston would've been awesome
Holy shit that was so civilized and all your points are true
Also, better writing, better pacing and better action sequences
No Wonder Woman wtf she was amazing in BvS
Mark strong would be the best Luthor
hopefully suicide squad will be better!
+Jack Parker Well it's a better director in my opinion. At least he have some good story-telling pieces in his portfolio.
hopefully
+Adam Lee like what, training day lol
+Jack Parker Training Day, Fury, End of Watch.. solid movies
Well it looks great but there's Jai Courtney.
Bruce: Where's your mom? Little Girl: (points to building Superman destroyed). Bruce: Is your mom's name Martha. Little Girl: ...no sir. Bruce: Then fuck off.
Freaking comedy gold
Its funny to me but hey nobody's perfect
remember kids
batman will only help you if your name is Martha
I closed my eyes during any scenes without Batman. It was fucking great.
So not even kryptonite radiation will hurt him after that.
;)
you can see him starting to evolve in the movie. I hope they continue that in a solo Superman movie.
I want to hug Ben Affleck right now and tell him, "It's not your fault."
Good Will Hunting
"My mom's name is Martha"
"Omg, Mine too!"
"Lets be friends and never fight again!"
*leaves movie theater*
+LeO2PaC that was lazy writeing at the part of the movie . i was like wth?! Batman u killed shit of ton of people so u could kill superman and just because his mom is same as urs u wil spare his life? wow bs
+LeO2PaC
so you didnt understood the Martha Thing?
sad. Just think about it.
I thought Rorschach was supposed to be inspired by Question...
+Katherine Sanderson You would be correct! Nite Owl by Blue Beetle...Dr. Manhattan by Captain Atom, etc etc *pushes up nerd glasses with finger* :P
RockFrogger ^_^
Kinda. The Watchmen were originally going to be the Charlton heroes. Rorschach was originally the Question but the entire way Moore wrote him was to be a darker Batman.
+RockFrogger actually Alan Moore said that Nite Owl was inspired by Batman
+Aziz Woodward *Blue Beetle*
I'd say the ultimate edition was more cohesive
it did have a pretty nice flow to it, I enjoyed it despite its faults. Even then it did feel like there was way too many sub-plots.
Frosty ! Some of the subplot I felt deserved their own movies e.g. the capital bombing should've just been exclusively to a man of steel sequel and not BvS
nope
it made it boring
They cut out explaining story scenes from the theatrical version? Why would you do that?
The ultimate edition made the whole movie make sense. Ive seen it 5 times and the complex things you can find in it are great. Not many movies have that rare rewatch quality.
It's weird because you realise that lex luther owned that movie.
Jesse Eisenburg/10
shut up uncle ben
It a Snyder and studio thing
Studio gave the order
and Snyder couldn't deliver well
lol
or more like the studio told him to take short cuts. i mean y would he made an uncut version thats different from the theatrical. his watchmen uncut was great but had a terrible theatrical release too.
+Brevincampbell12 i do like him as lex but his character resembles riddler more
***** There's about 30-40 minutes that was cut out of the film so it could keep a PG-13 rating, so who knows. Age of Ultron also had tons of minutes cut out, but unlike BvS, we won't see what stuff was taken out. Maybe the cut out content would've made me like AoU.
just told my friend that the director cant control what he is given
What a mess of a movie! A complete waste of time
+Betsy holy shit man, i cant wait for half in the bag: BvS
***** its gonna be great
It's awesome not waste of a time
The solo movies should've been don first! They rushed the hell out of this and it shows!
+Tomas Canevaro they are going to rip this movie to shreds lol
DC fans just got phantom menaced.
true 😩
Aquaman should be called Awkwardman.
Still feel that way?
@@paquettestephenbrett3362 lol aquaman was a joke until now. Thanks for James wan
@@Ok-eg8dg that's why I said still. Cause things have changed
I still think he's a joke.
actually the 'martha is my mom too' thing is much deeper, it shows to Batman that Superman isn't just some God, but a mere man too, with a Mom.
Plus Superman cares about his mom, another human, right before he's gonna be stabbed by Batman's spear
spot on. a lot of people didn't get that.
+Mutton Man A lot of people didn't get most stuff with BvS.
That was the best scene in the entire movie
That scene has good plan but, it was horribly shot and it kinda made no sense. My opinion only.
Mad Eye 21 actually even the death of superman is another extension of the theme, "superman is not a God, he is a mortal who can die as well"
Just remember in this movie reality, superman is still treated as alien/god but not as a man yet.
And with his death, the movie is trying to portray Superman is on human side with human values
Did anyone find it funny when Batman is about to get pulverised by Doomsday and he just goes "Shit"
Aqua man was like
👀
👄 um, oh is this my Q
Lol for real. He was like, "How much longer?" "I can't hold my breath anymore!"
Just saw the movie, and that was one of my thoughts as well...it looked too much like he was holding his breath.
Thank god they know how to do it now hahaha
😂😂😂😂😂 True
"The Red capes are coming. The Red capes are coming." ...NOBODY EXPECTS THE SPANISH INQUISITION!!!
😂😂😂😂😂
Was the movie great? Definitely not. Was it entertaining? Hell yes!
"Hey Zach!!!"
Yeah, bro?
"I need you to jam two and a half movies worth of story into one."
I gotchu fam.
And that is how Batman V Superman, Dawn of Justice: Death of Superman. Apokolips edition was made.
Haha yup
Why did they kill Doomsday's look? He's not Doomsday without the chiseled abs, fashionable green shorts, and badass flowing locks.
WHAT???
WHAT???
+Hocotatium111 they killed the entire character, period. From his origin to his death. Hes GEneral Zod mutated lmao!!! such a cop-out
+Hocotatium111 lol he is not a model
cell9899 really? That would have made the movie 30 minutes longer trying to explain his origins.
Wait, so his not the actual Lex Luthor, he's his son?
In a way yes, but he's the Lex Luthor that we are getting so I don't think it matters that he's Lex Jr.
+Our last hero he's Mark zuckerberg on crack
I do understand why Lex jr is a weirdo.
Lex luthor sr is a manic
You have a mom named Martha too?! Awesome, we are totally bros now.
Never in my life did I think I'd hear 'Jar Jar Binks' and 'Lex Luthor' in the same sentence. lol
This movie was way better than i thought it was gonna be
I love DC but I thought BvS was gonna be more of a popcorn movie, but that shit got my blood pumping like no movie has since man of steel
How in God's name did DC allow Zac Snyder to direct this horrible movie?! Why DC?! Why?!
someone at WB has a hardon at Snyder
They were thinking oh yeah this'll be the movie where Zach Snyder gets his shit together
Fucking WB
I loved the movie critics it sucks to be you
why?
Just the way you loved the movie, everyone else is entitled to not like it.
+supremejoseph i cant think of a movie that has been this unfairly bashed by critics
+821lancevance So true. I thought it was gonna be shit and I had an awesome time watching it, such a shame the Internet consensus is labeling it as crap.
+821lancevance Have you seen the movie, it was garbage
THAT'S THE SAME THING I SAID ABOUT AQUAMAN!!!
TYRONE! LOVE YOU MAN!
+Tyrone Magnus Literally just finished your review dude! Glad you loved it. Sad that I did not.
WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
+David Blyth Every opinion is valid mate. It's not bad taste to like something you don't.
Hey Tyrone ^-^
Everyone made fun of how batman changed character after superman mumbling Martha but I found it even more annoying that superman said Martha instead of Mom! I mean who does that??? Of course he would have said mom instead of her name, that is just lazy script writing.
Good call. Another reason why this movie is a mess.
if someone is beating you up just start repeating your moms name, maybe you will get lucky.
lol
+Eskeline Shows how dumb the script is.
+Nils Engman not that bad tho
Monish Karamchandani I thought it was atrocious.
Nils Engman well do u have a better one ?
Superman can hear Lois Lane halfway across the planet in a fucking desert, but can't hear his mom being tortured in the same city that he lives in...
*cinema sins Ding*
Simple explanation: Lois could have told him where she was going. Martha couldn't
Movie is mis titled. It should be called insane murderer man vs captain hypocrisy

+max howard This is the funniest comment I've read in a few months.
I hated Lex Luthor. I hated him. He was awful.
+Sirusly Marauding
You're supposed to. He's the bad guy. Or that's the popular defense people say about him. I don't entirely agree though.
Sirusly Marauding
I won't defend this portrayal. And i was not trying to either. Just pointing out a popular defense that some people use .
@@jacky61006 fool
He still didnt rip his head off, as he could have.
saw it 3 hours ago and
loved it (the critics are wrong)
critics were right
Oh, your mother's name is Martha too? We're friends now! if I run into your Martha in 5 minutes I'm gonna tell her we are friends.
More like "wait you have a mother??" I thought you were wondering the earth just hiding.
you have to do a ultimate version
I have only seen the ultimate edition. Is it in your opinion better then theatrical cut? I personally really liked this movie a lot.
it is
just watched it still not good movie dont believe the bs dc fanboys are about to spread
+Mr White with the desert scenes, clark kent investigating and having a reason to not like batfleck, with led being shown as being more manipulative and calculated (especially with the reasoning behind the courthouse explosion), to lois lane being a potato to actually having use...the movie is definitely better.
THAT WAS EVEN WORSE.
The Civil War trailer was the best thing about the movie.
+roaches23 must not have been good enough because i didn't see the trailer :p
The best scene in this movie was batman kicking ass in the warehouse. That was actually better than him fighting Superman.
I liked Luthor's actions.... but not his personality
I feel like they'll be doing a villain superman
So...Injustice?
+Luke Mcglinchey Yup, that's what the Flash said.... if Lois Lane dies, he goes rogue.... I don't want to see that. It's stupid!!! You do something like that after you already have 2-3 successful Justice League movies... and you make something like an else world, multiverse.... but you don't do that from the start.... The problem is I find it hard to believe they prepared a movie 10 years from now.
+Luke Mcglinchey I'd like see that. Maybe Clark comes back evil and the Justice League have to come together to defeat him.
Thats definitely why the flash came back in time to tell brice lois lane was the key. Shes the only thing to being him back to good
+Luke Mcglinchey They will, cut and paste is how Snyder do
"Lois Lane is the key" "You were right about him" sounds a lot like injustice imo
The worst thing about the movie being mediocre is having to hear DC fans bitch about Marvel or get salty in the comments.
give me campy and cheesy any day, which means I enjoy heroes who care about people and act like heroes. Why DC want to be so dark and gloomy? Superman use to be a wish fulfillment hero.
+pattimcb31 oh I loved the dark, gritty setting.
"Wasted potential, with moments of cool shit"
That's the ideal, perfect, most applicable description for BvS!!!
Last 2 days : RT : 41% in critics, 82% in audiences
IMDb : 9.7
Metacritic : 47%
Today : RT : 31% in critics, 74% in audiences
IMDb : 7.7
Metacritic : 44%
That's a dramatic DROP.
+Tk How actually imdb 7.7 and falling, RT 31 % 30 % critics 74 % audience.
Throwing the Kryptonite spear into the water then coming back for it was really just a time waster. And was the stupidest thing I saw in the movie.
Throws it, comes back, gets stuck, get saved, Superman gets it, gets stuck, gets saved.
+SplungeKik i know right??!!!
that wonder woman scene with the hard drive should of been an after credit scene
‘Movie critics’ criticizing Batman v Superman for being too dark & serious is a little hypocritical, wouldn't you say? Considering every time Marvel puts out a slightly darker movie, they write a puff piece editorial…...
Slightly darker...but they're not humorless
This is
Saw it yesterday and I agree with your review. Zack Snyder's the new Michael Bay of the DC Universe.
I love it when he says "WHADDUYA THINK UH THAT?"
Superman was forced to fight Batman in the The Dark Knight Returns. Supes didn't want to fight him then either but the US President forced him to do it.
Batman v Super = a bunch of cool clips
+mali mall like a bunch of trailers strung together (messily) into a movie.
XtremeDrake Yup
+mali mall I don't know if it's just me but I felt like the first 1 hour and a half of the movie is just all the stuff from trailers filled with forgettable BS.
Actually the whole movie felt like that to me. The only small "twist" we didn't know from the trailer is Superman doesn't want to fight Batman on the fight scene, which is stupid considering they spent like 2 years and 1 hour screen time building the conflicts.
Could have enjoyed a bit more if I didn't watch any of those trailers. But well...
Peter Nguyen To me, the movie was a mess but the trailers ruined the movie big time.
The Flash cameo was the most half-assed attempt to set up Injustice ever. It was so bad, it was almost no-assed
+Xavier Morrissey the flash looked like a dirty mexican with his long black hair in a pony tail and a beard. doesnt even look like barry allen whatsoever.
There's a lot of references, but the narrative is very weak. That's my verdict.
+Rogerio Macedo a narrative too big for such a little mind!!!
+Eddy Sauveur incorrect
+Turner Thomas how so?
No he's somewhat correct, BvS was all over the place which even left me discombobulated the first time I saw it. They tried to accomplish so much that the way they wove the scenes together was outright ridiculous.
Try weaving a movie together cohesively when some cowardly studio execs stole 1/6th of it for a Blu-ray release.
Am I the only one who shit their pants at the jump scare when Bruce was visiting Martha's coffin in his nightmare?
No one expected that...
+TonioDoesGames i had to comfort my friend
My dad did lol
& laugh...
he was going to but lex said he would kill her. he could have killed lex there as well.
+DjDragonblade oh yeah! I believe that was the Nostalgia Critic's review.
I think there's a part where Supes actually goes looking for his mom, turns his super hearing on, but hears all the suffering of different people around the world. I think they took it out because it was too dark. Hopefully, it's in the extended edition.
+LuthorCorp331 yeah Snyder said that scene was too dark because that's mean superman ignores the cry for help of people all around the city
They should have used the Justice League reveals as the after credits scene
+Grindahz Studio Hell yeah, and have Batman researching them as he now wants to set up the League
I agree. That scene with Diana going over those video clips would have worked better that way. Likewise, the follow up meeting between her and Bruce at the cemetery.
BvS is just a two and a half hour commercial for Justice League.
+Kingdom Key Damn right dude....
Hopefully these DC cinematic universe films will get better as they go, but this film should've acted as a good jumping off point, and with the sloppy execution of it all really didn't do these future DC films any favors.
that cyborg scene was kind of creepy but it was still cool
Doomsday should've been saved for another movie, where Superman is actually Superman and not two years into his career.
Lex asking the senator for
permission to bring the kryptonite was useless as it was easily brought anyways. Lois investigation is useless cause Lex himself reveals his plan at the end. The bombing of the senate made no contribution to the plot in any way.
Superman has no dialogue nor personality and his lack of character development is evident when the reason he fights batman is cause he is blackmailed in two seconds by Lex (which also, Superman would be totally able to save his mom
directly).
*sigh*
+Ale
Your comment deserves more likes and recognition.
+Masked Guy Thanks! I corrected the typos, in case that helps, haha ;)
If the Blu-Ray is a significant improvement, two things will happen in this order:
-Fans will rejoice. [for a few moments...]
-Fans will become angry they didn't get this cut.
It stupid how much this movie flows much better in the ultimate edition rather the one we were shown
"Mess" is the perfect word to describe this film.
The movie was great if you rate it for what it was supposed to be. A prequel to start justice league.
Personally I liked it and give it a 7.8/10.
Give it an 8/10 and I won't attack you!
+HELLASgate7 Obvious dc fanboy is obvious.
HELLASgate7 personally I thought it was better than 7.5 and wanted to give it an 8 but felt 7.8 was fare.
However as a DC fan I give an 8.3
as a casual movie goer I give it a 6.5

Obvious loser who isn't able to form their own opinion and rely on rotten tomatoes is obvious... Pathetic.
Film is awesome. 8.5/10
I thought Eisenberg's Lex was scary as fuck! He did a good job bringing something new to the role.
by playing the Riddler??
+justinjacques766 DING, DING, DING, DING!
I nearly walked out of the theater as that stupid horseshit continued for what felt like an hour.
The aquaman recreation killed me
In a good/bad way ???
Ernesto Caro Good way lol
Did anyone else pick up on the moment when Alfred said "Phantasm"?
Yeah man that was awesome
Doomsday looked like a big ass ninja turtle
I noticed that they killed Mercy, just like they killed Professor Hamilton in Man of steel. Also they were saying the camera man that dies in the beginning name was jimmy. Zack Snyder is killing off key characters who should mean more to the superman character later!
And we still have to hear about how he is a "brilliant visionary"
It took 2 animated movies to make the Dark Knight Returns and 1 for Superman Doomsday. This movie tried to be all of those and more.
And it did
I love this movie but this movie is too ambitious, it should have dropped some of the subplots
So it's actually Batman via Superman: Dawn of Justice
My favourite part of the film was the Civil War trailer
movie felt soulless, inspireless, futile, rapted in a good action suit
My favourite part was at the end when it showed the shot of the painting in Lex's office turned upside down so the demons were coming from the sky.
