here it is 2020......And still listening..... Is it me or is this one of the greatest groups ever?Mr. Adamson, why did you have to leave us? May God rest you, RIP.... Thank you for the music
My favourite version of Fields of Fire on You Tube. This with Harvest Home which they played just before - wow ! I was in the stalls at the Sheffield City Hall leg of this tour ,which I think was around the same time as the Reading date , so I had the privilege of experiencing this live. Nothing has come close since!
fcukin loved big country.....I saw them live for the 1st time during this tour at their Belfast gig......immense! I remember it was in the main hall of big leisure centre, and because it was soooo good, the whole place was bangin.....the condensation was pouring from the ceiling like rain and everyone was soaked through......awsome time ;0)'
One of my many regrets in life, not seeing Big Country live. Sadly I never will. Well not the original. I remember hearing Fields of fire on the Simon Bates show when it first got released and thought, Jesus wept what the hell was that? Awesome.
I saw them on this tour at The Astoria theatre in London and to this day refer to it as one of the best gigs I've been to. Last weekend I had the pleasure of seeing them again albeit minus Tony Butler and the late Stuart Adamson (RIP) but the songs sounded just as strong as ever. I'm so glad they've kept the band going as their songs are best heard live.
This track has always made such a deep impression on me, I find it truly inspirational. I have always wondered about the segment from 3:55 to 5:05? IS it part of another tune or just their brilliance? It roll seemlessly into FoF at the end.
Should I stay or Should I go by The Clash and then some Jumpin’ Jack Flash by the Stones. I didn’t recognize the lyric in between so there might be a third in between the two,
Went from the 1983 recording to this. It's amazing how quickly he aged in 3 years. AND FOF should NEVER be played on a Les Paul ! It doesn't have enough treble, you can barely hear the lead lines ! This is an SG-2000 song. Always will be.

Is there a more under rated guitarist anywhere ? I don't think so.

11 April 2020: happy birthday Stuart Adamson. You're deeply missed - your name will never die, your songs will be forever.
Brilliant! SA says, “Road runner, Road runner” near the beginning. Is that reference to the “Modern Lovers?” If so, even more brilliant.
ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT
1 OF THE MOST UNDERRATED BANDS EVER 👍
If only this gig could be released as a live album.
Very, very underrated Group

Prokofiev "Lieutenant Kije" which Greg Lake used on his "I Believe In Father Christmas"
quality video!
See you in October!
Someone help me - can't get the name of the song he was covering at the start
Should I stay or Should I go by The Clash and then some Jumpin’ Jack Flash by the Stones. I didn’t recognize the lyric in between so there might be a third in between the two,
Roadrunner by Jonathan Richman, Boy About Town by The Jam, & a bit of Blue Monday.
