Thank you for these wonderful videos!
YOU AMOEBAS ARE THE BEST!!!!
Can u help me out understanding how to decide which trait is recessive - free or attached ear lobe from two pedigree
that is funny
Thanks for helping me in Science class
the amoeba sisters explain way better than my college professor
your learning this in college?
if so im in 7th grade.. this is easy
MindofSethXxGetBuckets good 4 u
@@nolimitseth1545 You'll be amazed to find out that eventually it will be a decade and some change since you learned this and you need quick refresher.
@@nolimitseth1545 Im doing it in sixth
NoMercyFadesYT yall be killing me. we know we know. if were in college clearly we did this years ago too. but if you taken it over 10 years ago clearly you wont remember. also in college you go over the basics so you can get deeper into the topic and sometimes professors arent the best at explaining things that were “easily understood” as a 6th grader
My science teacher is so obsessed with the amoeba sisters that she has a custom dress with them on it, and makes us watch and answer questions on wednesdays and dedicates the whole the day to it. I can’t lie I’ve formed an addiction
Me too!
Wow lol
Mine too
Every time they say pedigree I think of that pet brand food 😂
jrseahorse for me every time they sat pedigree i think of someone called triple H. He is in WWE. His finishing move is called pedigree
k
me too!
the same
I think of Peter (pettigrew?) from Harry Potter haha
I’m glad the Amoeba Sisters are getting more famous due to online school. They deserve the fame!
and because of it, a ton of comments are flooding the comment section about how their teacher is boring, or how the video didnt answer the questions their teacher asked for
no they dont
"Pause the video here" Literally 2 nanoseconds later "*Shows answer* OK howd you do.

I was crying a while ago because I'm in 10th grade and we were given a case study that includes a very complex pedigree chart but now I'm all cheered up because it was that easy😭 thank you so muchhh
I didn't even learn about pedigree charts until my second semester in college... I am literally a freshman rn and just making sure I know exactly how the chart is supposed to work before my exam next week lol. I am glad they touched on it before college for you though.
I'm also learning this in yr 10 :P
oop- i learned this in 8th :( but ngl its pretty simple like u said :D
who else got an exam tomorrow
I was very reluctant at first when my teacher included links to videos on youtube, but you guys are actually hella funny (I love all the references) and you're VERY clear about how things work. Thanks!
I love it! And - gotta share real quick - when the nurse at the hospital told us that our youngest daughter's bloodtype was O negative, I exclaimed (with a large amount of enthusiasm), "That means that we know the genotype for both of our blood types!!" and then explained to my husband how this was proof that he (being O positive) was heterozygous for the Rh factor, and I (being B negative) was heterozygous for the B allele. The nurse looked at us a little strangely and said something about O neg being the universal donor -- and we were like, "Yes, yes, that's very cool too. But we're basking the joy of a genotype/phenotype discovery here!"
Ahahahaha! This cracked us up. Thanks for sharing! :D
Science Mom that's such a cool story!
Science Mom wp
Amoeba sisters can make any topic even more fun and interesting.
I loved the "My what a mysterious genotype you have Grandma" part and also the part with Captain Picard.
A knowledgable official biology teacher and her creative minded sister who makes learning fun by creating hilarious cartoons, both of them together created a series of biological videos which deserves high appreciation from everyone. Hats off to you two.
The cartoonist sister always makes me smile when I am watching these amazing videos.
This really helped my Freshman son who is learning about genetics.
ok no one cares
@@unclejooo dang that was rude
@@ayeshamoeen3972 yeah bro i agree with you 🗿
my science teacher show us your video because he say he's terrible at explaining and he's boring
At least he admits he’s bad mine doesn’t
I was your 69 like
same ahahshdf omg
Big-E, Big-E, Big-E, can't you see.
Sometimes I wanna draw a pedigree tree.
ruuuuuuuuuuuuth b!
Hee hee
KelanProductions that’s funny 😂 and also a good song 🤣
Wwe
Thank you so much for continuing making these videos! They're always helpful and always seem to come at a great time for me! In my 6th semester of college and you're still saving my butt!
Thank you so much for sticking with us, Bria!
could you do a part two but with eye color? here's an image for reference: www.indiana.edu/~oso/lessons/Genetics/figs/HairColor/5BrownPed.jpg ((it's hair color but i feel it would work with eye color))
4:55 "...cant you see, sometimes your words just hypnotize me"
RUTH! LMAO
I was drinking milk while watching this, and at 5:20 I laughed so hard I spat it all over the screen! Very funny and nice video. I watch all of your new vids and have been a subscriber since my biology teacher started showing your videos in class. Thanks for the helpful videos! Keep up the amazing work. Love you guys ✌
Xpl0ding GamrGuy Same😂
So am i!! XD i was eating an ice-cream with a chocolate milk!! Then i spat the whole screen.wow😂😂🤣🤣
Ok
My bio teacher always had us watching the Amoeba Sisters on Edpuzzle. These videos are 10x easier to understand than when my teacher actually teaches it herself. I'll just let the Amoeba Sisters be my teachers from now on. They deserve way more recognition 💙 Keep up the good work sisters!
The way you explain these topics is so simple and understandable that it blows my mind!! I really don't know how my teacher makes everything sound so complicated! You have really helped me for the past 2 years!! Keep it up!
I love the references in your videos! This is why you are the definition of comedy!
Petunia gets excited when people catch her nerdy references. She's hoping someone finds a reference to one of her favorite video games in there.
Amoeba Sisters kingdom hearts?
Amoeba Sisters what about Jean-Luc Picard? 😜
Amoeba Sisters KH
These are so cute and funny! I am so happy to have stumbled upon this. Honestly, a huge blessing because I am extremely right brained and anything that doesn't interest me or I can't memorize or relate anything to is ridiculously hard for me to understand... But cartoons that are smart and funny help me immensely! Thank You!
I really enjoy showing your videos to my Biology classes. After watching this video I felt that it was important to address the family structures that are depicted i this video - in hopes to try and normalize every type of family. In addition to pedigrees - I asked the students how might they change this video to better accommodate all families (some with two moms or dads, some with one grandma etc...) with a pedigree chart. It led to a wonderful class discussion
I solved the question at 5:40 in 20 seconds while I am still in Grade 5 watching your videos for fun. The same happened for the question at 8:35 It surprised me that I could solve it so fast.;)
Me: Watching this video at 2am...
This video made me run into my siblings' room and check their ears..and then my parent's ears....to do a pedigree LOL
"Amoeba Sisters" I only ever hear one voice.
One sister narrates and the other sister animated the video
Yuri Neijhorst that and they most likely put together their knowledge and research.
Please stop you're making me listen to Gangsta's Paradise Cover [Epic Orchestra]
My dad is over 50 and had never heard “pedigree” in the context of science. Having been in the middle of this video (and watching it for the second or third time) I explained to the best of my ability (my HS Bio class was interrupted by the COVID Pandemic two years ago) and provided the example of my strawberry-blonde hair. I am not the only person in my family who has this hair color-dad was pretty redheaded as a child-and once I had said it, it made me wonder who else in my family has, or had, this trait. I’m pretty certain it’s a recessive trait, since my mother and my maternal grandparents both have/had dark hair, but my dad and I both have lighter hair. This would mean that my mother is a carrier and someone in her family must have had the trait. All of my aunts and uncles, even the ones who are not biologically related to me, have dark hair, but some of my cousins have light strawberry-blonde hair like me. It would be interesting to create a pedigree of my living relatives and figure out where the gene came from in the three or four generations I can actually track. Another good trait to track would be my blue eyes since many of my family members also have blue eyes, including my Dad and maternal Grandpa. (My father was raised by his grandparents, so he would know more about my paternal great-grandparents than my paternal grandparents. Unfortunately most of my dad’s family have crossed beyond the veil into the realm of spirits... in other words they’ve died.)
Excuse the novel of a comment.
To be honest, I was SHOOK when I saw the human forms of the Amoeba sisters. ;)! This video also saved my life. We just learned this at school, and it made no sense until I saw this.
studying for my bio final and this is a lifesaver!
ok
You can see more of our genetics videos in our playlist m.ua-cam.com/play/PLwL0Myd7Dk1Hj8WCDlDVBlkqT-ZVdj7Js.html We also have a resource that goes with this video here: www.amoebasisters.com/handouts
You guys not pushing the video to 10 mins to get the extra add shows your intention of truly teaching, and not getting the money. I respect that
The Amoeba Sisters explain way better than 3 weeks of learning genetics with my science teacher
Another awesome video making science accessible and engaging!!! My students love the Amoeba Sisters. Thank you once again!
first time watching one of your videos and it is very interesting. it's quite exciting with the characters you use and helps me out a lot. i missed out on the day that we did this in class and it is very helpful. You make it very clear and give examples, other videos expect you already know basic stuff like the shaded is recessive and the square is male. keep up the good word, subscribed.
Great Video. I love everything you do - very useful in my classroom. The chromosomes, Punnett Squares, and Sex-Linked traits are a great tie in with this video. I just wish that grandma #3 had free earlobes to show how she must be a heterozygous with grandpa #4 due to their kids.
Thank you---and good point for the video! We do have a portion where students design a pedigree on our handout that has that scenario www.amoebasisters.com/handouts so students can still get practice with that, but it would have been nice to have in the video too!
It was nice to know what you were talking about for the most part, because we just learned about something similar to this in biology. Thanks for another great video. You deserve more subscribers.
Thanks so much for watching and the kind feedback!! :D
My science teacher always uses these videos, thanks for helping me not fail biology!
Thanks so much Amoeba Sisters! Your videos have taught me more than my actual biology class has
JUST in time! I need to do a test on this today! Another great video from one of UA-cam's best channels!
right after I took my test yesterday... where were you when i needed you the most.
Awwww! :( Well hope that test went well.
no it didn't xD
ahahahahahaha
rip
lol ikr
i discovered your channel 1 day before my biology test, i wish i discovered it before ! you cannot imagine how helpful your videos are. THANK YOU SO MUCH
Thanks amoeba sisters for explaining biology with humour, pun and simplicity!
XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
I love this channel so much! It is fun to learn, and teaches much more than my biology teacher
Totally amazing!!!! Loved this video!!!! My teacher totally confused me but this explained everything!!! Thank you xxxxx
I got a 98 in my class yesterday because of this! I even share these with my classmates (but everyone just kind of laughed at the name and no one believed me! They are missing out!)Thank you so much!!!
Your videos help so much and they are so entertaining
yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy thank you ,my teacher ran out of time to teach any other punnets squares after monohybrid so i came to you to help me with my homework bc your videos are amazing. Thank you my homework was breeze. I also watched your Dihybrid crossing, Sex-linked and Incomplete dominance videos to help w/ my homework.
also when finally got to pedigress my brain was just exhausted, but your videos never fail to enterain even when im tired.

I LOVED this video. My science teacher plays some of your videos for our lessons and I always enjoy watching them. Now I know more about pedigrees and I get to find out a lot of cool stuff. For example, my sister has all the same traits of my father and I have all the traits of my mother. Maybe that's why whenever I visit relatives, they would say I look like my mom. XD
my daughter has a test on hereditiy this video is extremly helpful she broke it down really good espessiclly for people just now leaning about heridity and genetics in genral this video is very helpful
My biology shows these all the time and you explain it a LOT quicker
Ur the #1 person I think of in biology class, couldn’t have kept me straight A,s without u!
Ok the letter to the uncle got me dying 😅😅😅😅...Great video
My favorite topic and the most exciting one related to inheritance; posted on my birthday.
Bloody brilliant.
Not gonna lie, I thought you were going to talk about dogs for a second. But this was so interesting.
The best content it made me understand my heredity and DNA and RNA
As highschool student i want to say that your videos helped me a lot than my teacher explaining 😂
who else is here for school and explains it better then there teacher
This really helped me! I was so confused but now I understand, thank you! Plus it was funny.
Helped with my science test! THANK YOU!
God bless! I passed my test on Pedigrees thanks to you guys
Even when I'm not in school, whenever I am feeling down, I go on UA-cam to watch your videos... then I feel better! I also love the new art! Keep up the good work! :D
It's amazing how can u understand in 10 min more than what u can do in hour 🍀💚
Ur english is easy which allows us( we from other countries) to understand✨💛
Thank u very much🌹❤️
I love this channel. I have a lab assignment on genetics and pedigrees and this helped so much 💕
Unexpected Picard made me smile. I needed that before I take this final.
this is literally the best channel ever
Hi, I am a science teacher and love your vids. they are my number one choice of learning resource in lessons. I really wish you had more under 6min vids though.
I have a biology test tomorrow over this and I had no idea what they were because she never explained them very well. Thank you for my late night bio lesson
I have a science final tomorrow and this is really helpful. Thanks!
i love it. isnt it funny that i have professors with pHd's and all these other resources. but if i could i would always come to your videos. indepth enough for college but still broad. and the animation makes things better tbh
Thank you for these videos! I am teaching BI101 online and it can be hard to get the point across without being in front of the students!
Thank you for your videos! They explain things better.
7:10 notice how the only 2 male parents have an [ :D ] smile!
Wanna talk about 2nd generation man number 1?
Also sorry for calling you back after 3 years
I love your vids. Really makes science really fun, keep it up!
Ur the best
I've completely clear about pedigree
Tnx ton
