    I would call the manufacturer and request that they replace the refrigerator with a NEW refrigerator. The compressor should NOT be broken on a brand new refrigerator. It's worth a try. Best of Luck!

      Things they make these days are junk. Life expectancy of new appliances is 5-8 years! Ask anyone over 60 how much JUNK is made these days. They sold us on "clean energy" but you have to buy 8 times in one lifetime. Fridges used to last 20-30 years! Same with cars...Well everything.

    It is almost never the compressor and that is everybody's go-to if they don't know what they're doing. The number one reason we found that refrigerators don't work out of the boxes somehow they have gone into demo mode. Look it up online and find out how to take it out of demo mode and try it. Do not let them replace that compressor, loaded in the truck take it back get a new one if it won't if it's not demo mode you didn't pay for a refrigerator to have a bad compressor and it will go bad again actually the refrigerant will eventually all leak out of it but if it's not in demo mode, take it back!

    • @dbeaton1111
      @dbeaton1111 2 роки тому +1

      It happens. I bought a new fridge and the compressor was bad right out of the crate. It was under warranty, of course, so the guy came, replaced it, and that compressor lasted about a day. Another compressor change and it finally worked. This was some time ago, before anyone had to worry about a "demo mode."

      I had this happen with a new refrigerator that I purchased at Best Buy. They replaced the refrigerator without making a big deal about it. No extra charges, no big hassle. I would absolutely not keep a refrigerator that came out of the box not working. Better to replace it now than to be servicing it constantly. Your warranty should cover a replacement. And, if the warranty doesn’t, the store should.

  • @bettylou3709

      I tend to agree with you. If a brand new refrigerator needs repaired before it's ever really been used, I would be worried that there's some sort of defect. And I'd be concerned about what might happen with it in the future. It's an expensive appliance, and would have to still be under warranty. Better to exchange it now rather than risk more problems later - after the warranty has expired.

    So when you lay the tile in the washroom, be sure to do the tile base around the entire room as well. If the washer ever over flows it'll save your walls and hopefully the water won't run deep enough to flow out your doorway. I recommend a good silicon seal at the threshold of the door. You might want to go old school and have some kind of washtub between the washer and dryer. You grout looked like it was to thick, so if it cracks you might have to dig it out and redo it. Be sure to seal the grout, it's a pain in the ass but it'll look better longer.

If they want to take the broken one first and then come back later with a "new one" be wary!!! They could just be pulling an old switcheroo and you will get the broken one back!!! Maybe somehow mark the old one to make sure you can tell if you get the new one or the broken one back. This switcheroo happens too much so be cautious. But don't let the company know you marked the old one. If they try any crap and you catch them always ask for consideration - hopefully they will feel bad and will try to make it right by offering you extras!!! Everything looks beautiful. We can’t wait until you can move in! Baby boy will be here soon and you guys can cuddle in. You might want to is stock up your pantries. But you know that! Don’t mean to be bossy, I’m 74 years old and I’ve been with y’all since you were traveling in your van. I would love to play with your dogs. They are precious. Well, y’all have a good and productive day. Love y’all.

    Lots of people saying the "trim" on the ceiling looks great but I agree with Allie. Trim is usually a transition, what you have is a border but none of that matters if you're happy with the end result. I wouldn't be as forgiving about the fridge - I'd have given them a week to remedy or refund.

    Use a Dremmel to get the thin set out of the floor tile. Makes the job go much faster. You can't leave it, you need to grout. Aside from that you guys are doing a great job. The end is in site. Hope the cold weather holds off so you can get the siding done. I think you should buy a smaller, no frills fridge which you can put in the basement once your compressor arrives. Solves CO problem and convenience problem.

    Allie, I prefer the darker wood molding because you have the black fans and chimney stack. But, it’s a personal preference. The place is coming along. I would also demand a new refrigerator until yours can be fixed.

    I liked stained trim over painted trim, especially in a rugged setting.

    Oh my goodness, everything is looking so amazing, so cool to see the space without the scaffolding. I just think both Trent and Brandon are so amazing, what a great friend you have in Brandon he has been such a great help and such a joy to see in all of your videos. And it's great to see that someone remembered that poem, I did as well because I'm older and use to hear it all the time when I was younger. The bathroom tile is so beautiful and I really love that tile in the shower floor, that is super cool. It is so exciting to see all of your videos, and the house as it is coming along, Allie is just so beautiful in her pregnancy, and things are moving along so great. Thanks for another awesome video, sending love and hugs, bye for now.

    I would totally make the manufacturer replace the entire dang fridge. No way should a new fridge not have a working compressor.

      Demand a replacement now! Lowes would have replaced it, no questions.

      Especially since replacing a compressor requires major mechanical work (cutting if the coolant line). We had ours replace twice - Under warranty.

      I thought the same thing but then I remembered that trying to get a new frig is a gigantic pain since there is an appliance shortage. It does seem like whoever sold it should give them a temp (like a floor model or something) but they probably don't have one they can give.
      I hope that: 1. the compressor is the problem 2. It comes earlier than anticipated! The house looks great!

      Remember they bought it months ago and it’s been in grandmas garage. And they moved it around and up there later. So who knows what happened to it. I’d still try to make them take it back, but they may have had it too long.

    • @tinydancer7426
      @tinydancer7426 2 роки тому

      @@machellep1 If that broke the compressor, then it was a piece of crap to begin with. Fridges sit in warehouses for interminable periods of time and on showrooms, then get shifted around in warehouses and showrooms, the get tilted and moved around going onto and off of delivery trucks, and then the same when moved into the purchaser's home or where ever it is to be ultimately. So, that period of time it was in grandmas garage should be a big deal as to the condition of the fridge as well as it begin moved into the house.
