I am a pretty big fan of the band that they use for the opening of this broadcast too, where Devo is displayed on the red background, that is not Devo, it is British band XTC. Honestly I like them more than Devo even, but both bands are in my top 10 favorites I would say. XTC has more good material and was better longer as far as new material went in my opinion. In the early 80's when DEVO hit it big my 6th grade school teacher talked about how she knew them when she went to school at Kent State
"Cool Teacher" Alert!
Lucky she didnt get murdered by the national guard like 4 of their friends.
That must have after the 1970 shooting dead of 12 Kent State students by their own local National Guard, during an anti-Viet Nam War riot on the University grounds.
Pretty cool. The Akron/Canton/Kent area salutes!
I had the pleasure of seeing them a couple of times back in the day in NYC and had the pleasure of yelling "WE ARE DEVO!!!"

I'm so glad my dad had me listening to Devo at such a young age.
What a great band! Showing how rock n roll can change and morph into something totally unique
Too bad they changed their style right after that. Still good but I wish we got more of this sound
They influenced future bands and audiences. What better epitaph could any modern band wish for; especially a Punk band!
Fantastic! (And on another note, let's hear it for short-shorts!)
