"I ordered the one that you would have ordered if you had ordered one!"....FANTASTIC SALESMAN!
they must have been friends. Different times!
He might have recognized the knowhow, too. A lot of the people that know cars aren't the ones buying new. (Which can be kind of how malaise happens or cool stuff is rarer than it should be.)
The true one.
It's amazing to me how, after 65 episodes, I can still say that this series just keeps getting better and better. I've noticed that Tom is having to do less and less of the heavy lifting, and his guests are getting chattier about their collections. I don't know if that's editing, or just the quality of the subjects that they are finding, but I like how he's guiding the conversations rather than doing all of the talking now. It's a really good combo :)
This might be my favorite episode of Barn Find Hunter ever...Bob's knowledge of everything he owns impresses the hell out of me
Please do a part 2 with this gentleman. Seems like we just scratched the surface. Thanks Tom, for takin' us along...
Yes, definitely. What a wonderfully eclectic collection that Bob clearly loves, and knows each one intimately. I'd love to hear some of the stories that are clearly attached to each one...
I agree, sounds like the guy had several other building to go thru.
Yes,yes go back Tom.
That was fantastic.
More tom please he's so unique
Amazing collection, the stories are worth as much as the cars... Someone needs to document all of the backstories and inventory the hoard... probably worth as much if not more than the cars.
No kidding great stories and collection.
That was classic when Tom looked at the camera when the guy said 26 toronados
20:53 . The look on his face says a lot.
I just realized I haven't seen a tornado driving in a long long time
@@jcmasmith1898 haha
@@BobDingleful Good catch of his easily missed 'in the zone type' reveal. Hopefully the first of many.
@@WireWeHere Well described.
not normally into the real early stuff but I could listen to Bob talk about those cars all day .. great episode guys
👍🏻👍🏻
I'd come over from Australia to spend a day with that guy, what stories, but don't know if I could stand the thought of so much to do to revive so many vehicles.
The older I get, the more the really early stuff fascinates me.
Bobs got a memory like a steel trap, dude has probably forgotten more than I've ever known, which is saying something since it seems he hasnt forgotten anything!
I agree with Randy completely.
Sometimes the stories are cooler than the cars but in this case I'd say they about are equal
guy has never forgotten anything in his life!!legend has it,he still has his baby shoes he took his first steps in at 2 months old!wtf
You forgot to add he took 5 steps and promptly put the shoes back into the box. They've been sitting on a shelf ever since.
And garentee everytime he has someone over he tells the same things, and shows the same parts
@@bimmerpooch Savage 😂
Laughed when Tom turned around 26 tornados, loved it this was one for the books
I would have loved to see a second or maybe even a third part of Bob's collection!
Bob is an Awsome collector! Thank you Bob for saving and sharing these very few Gems.
Best episode ever! Bob is a true car legend, how in hell can he recall so much minute information about each car. Can you visit him again and do a few more episodes with him. He is such a cool guy! Again what a treat seeing and listening to him talk. Thanks heaps Tom.
I really appreciate the fact you gave this man a place in history.
Thank you for finding and providing a platform for people like Bob to share their stories.
Bobs mind is sharp as a tack wow. Watching him remember how to start that car was awesome! Such a great day with bob.
Bob, thank you for sharing your collection! Incredible.
@20:54 you know the man is genuine. The smile at the camera man is priceless.
I’ve thought of Bob every time I watch your channel. When I met him he had a LOT more in that barn, like the original 1970 Corvette he bought when he went to college, or the 1957 fuelie Vette basketcase. I’m glad you two finally met. It was good to see my hometown on here. Montana used to be chock full of good old cars just sitting because they didn’t use chemicals on the roads in winter and the colder temps kept rust at bay. Unfortunately government introduced strict regulations on junk yards and then Californians started hauling them away in the eighties. Probably a lot of stuff left though... lots of country there to look through.
Leave it to people from California to screw things up.
Dean Frank Like someone else said, I usually don’t go too much for the really old stuff either. This, however, has to be the best Hagerty episode I’ve seen so far. By a long shot.
Tom, I swear I don't know how you do it, but WOW. Just wow....
Thank you VERY much, Bob, for agreeing to share with us your wonderful collection -
and no, I'd not say you were "crazy" - I'd call you "passionate", as all us car guys are
to one extent or another.
I'm just blown away by this episode, maybe more than any before it. Amazing stuff.
-Ed on the Ridge
UPS must have a dedicated truck to this guys house.
"I work for UPS".
Cool, where does your route take you?
"Bob's".
Hey, go back to the SAAB Sonett III... What a great episode! Tom could have done three episode with Bob, with all the knowledge they both possess.
Yea that caught my eye too.
Always a joy to hear car guys tell their stories-
Best show going 👍
It is indeed! 👌🏻
That smile at the end tells it all. This is a happy man.
Proskaters6 I didn’t hear him mention having a wife. The smile says he probably didn’t.
I envy Bob's sharp mind. I'd love to sit with him and learn about his cars.
as much as this channel is about cars, I wholeheartedly agree that the back story behind them is as interesting and this episode with bob certainly showed that
Somone should write a book. It bothers me that all this information will be lost someday...😞
Excellent episode Tom. Bob's real salt-of-the-earth car collector.
Thanks Bob for sharing your collection and thanks to Tom and the team for documenting it.
18:02 AMAZING! I’ve never seen this before. Thanks for sharing Bob!
20:22 Tom’s face. 20:54 Bob’s face. I had a big smile too. Evidence that the sound of an old engine will put a smile in your face no matter how old you are!
Owning twenty six Toronados is the very definition of crazy.
Crazy good!
I'm part of a Cadillac club here in NYC, & we have a member who owns close to 20 low mileage 80's era Eldorados.
This has to be the best episode you have ever filmed!! Bob is a treasure!
The stories, the facts, and his memory are priceless, you need to do a multi-part show with Bob.
He needs to get a giant warehouse where he can have all his cars to see & preserve them. Get all the “stuff” off of them!
Amazing episode!
This could have easily been an 8-part series. The auction houses will be calling him.
No joke bro. Bob knows his stuff!
Bob needs his own UA-cam channel.
That 1912 Kissel car starts and runs smoother than my 2006 car!
Isn't that incredible? Amazing how easy it started and how smooth it ran!
I didn't know that electric cars needed to be cranked in order to start.
That Kissel is simply gorgeous! And so smooth running too, for a car that's over 100 years old... Incredible!
I totally agree. What was really fun was watching the startup process, reminds me of a early aircraft.
That Kissel and the Franklin are my favorites! And "Bob! is a gem... a knowledgeable one, too!
I think I've said it before, but I'll say it again: Tom's got one of the coolest jobs on the planet. From guys that have the rare 1 of 1s, to the guys that might just have too many of 1 thing(26 Toronados - it's a wonder your cap didn't spin around on your head), & the stories behind them...where can I apply? You know, in case you want to retire one day...lol!
Yes, one of the coolest jobs. Also, Tom and his team do that job extremely well. Also, a big thank you to Hagerty.
Tom.... you never cease to amaze us..... keep finding !
I couldn't imagine what kind of life one would have to live to buy a brand new Corvette, drive it a couple of times and park it up for 3 decades.
I bet he had a few other carscthat gave him more joy and were more interesting so he drove those.
Based on everything he explained about his parents paying for college and giving him 1k to buy a different car and his dad's previous collections and his buying so many cars while under 18 I'm assuming his parents left him absolutely set for life money wise. I think he/they were well off.
@@FunWithAJ he also mentioned being an engineer, so presumably for the last few decades he's had some disposable income to buy stuff like that
@@jackvalleli4460 Good point.
@@jackvalleli4460 The man is frugal concerning his lifestyle. His passion, his investment, are his cars. And there is nothing wrong with that at all.
Thanks Hagerty, it's always entertaining listening to folks who know their stuff!
Bob's smile when he cranked that motor. Priceless. What a great guy
By far the most interesting and amazing episode of BF yet, and I’ve faithfully watched them all! My absolute favorite. I could listen to that fellow ALL day! Thank you so much for sharing this!
Could not agree more. A great episode, which I have not watched 3 times. Thank you, Tom, thank you, Bob.
Amazing how this guy remembers all the stories about his cars,a true enthusiast.Great videos ! 👍
Bob is a legend! The stories, the delivery, doesn't get any better than that. It's easy to dislike those who hoard but these cars really did fall in the arms of the right owner. Kudos to Tom taking the back seat and allowing the narrative to unfold like a true pro.
This guy is a National treasure.
Each time I swear Tom can't find something more special, rare, unusual, and yet... US is full of surprises for old cars aficionados.
Any guy who sports a tire gauge in there chest pocket is pure legend!
Thanks again, Tom. What a treat to watch these videos.
wow, Bob!! you could do your own you tube show... call it "What's Under HERE"... awesome episode!! More Bob!
He could start a youtube channel and do videos on each car. then when he starts to make money, buy a old close department store and turn it into his own car museum and start to move his cars into there.
I never get tired of watxhing this. Just the amount of old cars you find.
Amazing!!! Thanks to Bob for sharing and thanks to Tom for the great show once again!
When he opened the door on the 66 Tornado I was blown away by how it still looks new on the inside.
This guy has an amazing collection of cars and car related items. He could literally open a museum if he wanted to and display everything he has collected.
The BIG SMILES filling the garage are what is the nicest.
That last one PURRED like a kitten...better than most cars l know today. Thanks Tom..and Thank You Bob for such an eclectic collection.
That was another neat episode. That smile on Bob's face near the end says his love for cars.
Wow! What a great guy......what a great collection!!
Crazy no, eccentric yes! Love his knowledge & very ecclectic (exc. Toronados) collection.
Thx, once again to Tom & Hagerty, love this series!
How could you not spend a week or a month going through all of the bits and bobs of the different cars? This was truly a Candy Store occasion! Worthy of a television show!🤗🤤🤑😤
Loved Bobs face when he got that Kissel running smooth and turned at the camera, smile of pride. Great episode!
The guy who owns the second oldest Model-A is sitting on GOLD!! HUGE NUGET GOLD. Probably worth around 2-3 million when running.
Please do a Part II with Bob. This was the best work you’ve ever done.
This man has one of the most interesting collection of complete and original cars I've ever seen.
That last car brings tears to your eyes. What a Grand surviver💚. And the owner is a gentleman 👍👍👍👍✌️☕🏆
All the knowledge that these enthusiasts/collectors has should be written down/preserved for generations to come
Tom, you are a legend. Thanks for another video!
Bob has hundreds of stories and a great collection...!! Glad you got to drive that classic..!! Montana is BEAUTIFUL..!
So many wonderful stories that you actually forget all the wonderful history on the Model A at the start. Wonderful.
I'm to old to get back into vintage cars but in my opinion Bob should be classified as a "National Treasure"!
wow we need to see more of this guys collection
This guy actually lives the meme of a tiny house with a gigantic garage filled with cars
Well, why not, if you can. For a lot of us that would definitely be the dream, as long as we had the time to play with them too...
That mans grin was timeless when he started the old franklin! Guys like this are a national treasure!
And you got to drive it!
So cool!
Thank you guys
I thought this said TORNADO and I was ready for some real dramatic footage
I thought the same thing. Lol
That was some real dramatic footage!! The best kind!!
It's amazing what a guy down the road has in his garage. WoW.
Always preferred the Riviera but man, that is dedication. Godspeed, Toronado Bob!
I wish Bob would build a building full of shelves and get that stuff off those cars! I'm glad he has them indoors! What a great collection!
Thanks for sharing Bob!
This guy is a automotive hero and would be awsome to visit his museum of stuff and take in a afternoon of his vast knowledge
When that guy hand cranked his car up and got it running and looked back at the camera beaming with pride, id be proud too that fellow knows his stuff, thanks once again Tom
I think Bob would give Jay Leno some competition for museum pieces!
Now that man has some automotive history!! Great vlog!!
Man the knowledge, stories and exploits of these guys is just mindblowingly amazing
Great collection👍 Out of all the episodes, this fella is probably the closest to _hoarder_ status that I’ve seen!🤣. Cars are one thing, but the piles of 💩 in the dozen or so storage units are mindblowing 🤯 I just hope his kids (if he has any) are as passionate about cars as he is; otherwise they’ll have a huge challenge ahead of them.😱
This gentleman's collection has blown my mind and i love the story of his purchase of the Corvette.. i just hope he cleans up because one fire and he'll lose it .
I love this. And couldn't you listen to Bob all day long talking about his cars. Thanks Tom.
I REALLY enjoyed this episode. Bob doesn't strike me as the typical hoarder, "gonna fix'er up one day," where 60 other cars are rotting away. You can tell Bob really enjoyed these cars when he bought them.
Thanks Bob for opening up your collection! Thanks again Tom and crew for a great show!
That guy’s amazing in what he can recall. This is by far the best episode I’ve watched . Thank you , by the way tell Tom I’ve been 20’ away from a 1954 Morris Minor 4 door for 20 years. I was told there was a car in this shed but never asked the re elusive neighbor that owns it .
You guy's need to go back and visit again..
I'm amazed at all the jealous comments from people who complain about what other people do with their collections. If someone wants to collect dozens of cars and never get around to restoring them, that is their business.
Well said! It's all Bob's stuff and he's given us a chance to see a little of his life. What a great chapter of Barn Find Hunter.
I'm glad they are all indoors so they aren't rotting. Neat guy.
I could listen to this man's vehicle stories all day. What an awesome collection and fella!
I want to hang out with this guy for a week to see all his toys.
Great collection of vehicles displayed and narrated by a guy with a great memory. Well done sir!
Not the fire breathing muscle monsters I’m accustomed too, but this guy has a real passion and clearly a knowledge for what he likes.
Wow Tom... another fantastic man with an awesome car collection, and we are so blessed he was willing to share it with the world through you Tom. Thanks again for sharing.
Great video and stories! Bob needs someone to follow him around for a month and write everything down about all the cars and do more videos. Every car has such an interesting story. As always, thank you for sharing your world with us Tom.
Every time I see one of these mega-find videos of yours I’m amazed. I always think nothing could top this! But then you do it again!! Love this series you do Tom!!
Am I the only one who gets freaked out by all the disorganization? 😂🤣 Bob is amazing, his memory on every car...you you only scratched the surface. I'll bet that International you walked past was in mint condition. To bad you couldn't spend a week there and see it all.
Bob is sharp as a tack. What a memory.
His knowledge of the Model A alone is worth watching this episode, but he's knowledgeable about everything he works on. I enjoyed his smirk at 20:53. He knows just how awesome it is to have the knowledge he does.
Yup! The end of the video made me smile. The look in Toms eyes and Bobs. Shear joy from Bob and appreciation from Tom. This is one of the best you've done Tom.
Bob, I thank you for sharing. Yup, Made me smile...a lot
Bob is the man
bob was just in his glory showing you guys his collection. Great episode
...and I thought 64-1/2 Mustang guys were Maniacs!!!
His smile after starting that car was priceless
Simply amazing...and you got to drive!! What a way you have with people. Thanks for taking us along on another fantastic journey.
