  • I'm obsessed with this hummus recipe. Not only is it fast and easy, it's fresh, super creamy and delicious. And it comes together in less than 3 minutes! Made in my Vitamix with organic canned chickpeas, tahini and a few other fresh ingredients, it's the best homemade hummus recipe (and I think you'll agree).
This video was created in partnership with Vitamix (a brand I've loved and used for years). All thoughts and opinions are my own. #spon

This hummus is the perfect healthy appetizer or snack! I scoop it up with fresh cucumber slices, but you could use any veggie. You could also make my cassava flour tortilla chips or ultimate seed crackers (both recipes are gluten-free, paleo & vegan and on my website). Hope you guys like this video - and I'd love to hear what recipe videos you'd like to see next! - Lisa xo

Nice recipe and easy to make. Is hummus the American way of writing and pronouncing it. Across the pond we call it houmous. I think it's spelled that way too.

well classic hummus recipe has no garlic nor oil. This way people add oil and/or garlic/green chili as they wish and get more layers of flavor . thanks!
just wanted to say that i get frustrated every time i use my vita mix for hummus as it keeps creating vacuum.

Thank you so much for your recipes and videos! I have searched off and on for a hummus to make at home. Your recipe was the first that I did not feed to the garbage disposal. Yes, I ate it all. I think it got better after it sat for a few days. The tahini I had was one that was sitting in the back in my refrigerator of uncertain origin. I had lime juice and coriander instead of lemon & cumin.... and I still finished it, knowing that if it was that good with less than optimum ingredients, it would be wonderful fixed properly with the right things.
Today I made it for the first time with the correct ingredients and also made your recipe for tahini. I will never purchase hummus or tahini in the store again! Thank you very much for your fabulous content!

I have an Israeli colleague and she said to remove the skin. I did. And I am telling you, it's a total gamechanger. You have never tasted anything as smooth and silky, and she said to blend it a really long time. Afterwards sprinkle with some Sumach. Incredible!

You can also add 1/4 cup Greek yogurt to your hummus when blending.

Omg wish I had a vitamix. My hummus didn’t come out as creamy and thick :(

Hummus is unbelievably creamy in the Vitamix. :)

A stick blender is a good, affordable alternative to a Vitamix for making hummus. Mine came with a narrow container that can be used for mixing these types of recipes.

Only thing is that I didn't like is how she didn't mention that you have to COOK chick peas if not from a can after soaking. I didn't know this and used this video only to make hummus and was a disaster. 2nd time was nearly perfect, just a little to much tahini for my taste.

I have made this Hummus recipe a few times for a dip option for the Paleo's, Ketoians, and Vegatarians in my family. Your recipe is going to appear in our Thanksgiving spread. It was requested instead of the Ranch dip. Thank you for sharing your recipe. Your the best.

GeorgiaIsOnMyMind That’s not true. According to historical accounts, it likely originated in Egypt.
