      If you are a rock person you will need no help keeping your interest, through military and then contractual obligations I took a break for over twenty years, I'm just as interested now as I was aged eight, the only downside for me is being in England, almost no hounding areas, fossils yes and flint but that's about it.

    What i love about your videos is the nature exploring aspect of it, and offcourse the rockhounding. You dont skip over to the good parts, you poke around in nature and thats a great feeling and i love myself to just be out and explore. I also bring my dog with me :) Always Ps: you should bring a water bottle with you, so that you can wet the stones and show us.

    • @meMiner
      @meMiner  4 роки тому +1

      Some of the best surprises are not in the plan when out exploring. Taking water with me is a good idea. Even an empty container that I can fill up in a puddle. I have tried to show rocks later and it is a job (and a half) to match up clean rocks later with the ones found in a video. I have a great deal still to learn. Thanks for the tip.

    i hate you Me Miner (lol), you find so many good things. i wish i still lived in Oregon, i learn at least 50% of what i know about rockhounding from your videos, i live in SoCal where there is not much places to go for rockhounding, i live where they have 3 quarries that have a abundance of minerals in riverside CA. but they are all private land, i did find some blue calcite outside of 1 of the quarries. most of the places out here are paid sites, don't like the paid site it's not the same as finding gems on your own.

    • @meMiner
      @meMiner  4 роки тому

      I also avoid the paid sites, except the ones where there is a token access fee. You should check out the maps on mindat.org to see if there is something in your area that you are unaware or join a local rock and mineral club that organizes field trips. You are a good guy not sneaking onto private land. The good news is asking the owner can sometimes give you permission. I have found that most appreciate being asked. The problem for me is they usually don't want any video of the site as the next 10 guys won't ask.
