Anyone else notice it’s color and complexion shifts greatly after Fenrir’s soul is put in? The fur darkens, the blood and sores disappear and most obviously his eyes get life in them.
5:55 Finally, Kratos returns to using structures or objects around him to defeat the boss. Because I think what makes God of War interesting is the use of structures or objects around to help defeat giant creatures.
I love the attention to detail in these massive encounters. At 5:28, Kratos isn't just getting whipped around the arena - he lets go of the chain so that, simultaneously, the spikes will embed into the stone and he can bodily slam into that same stone to break it free. Then he grabs the chain and pulls, ripping a chunk free to help strangle the hellhound.
Easily, by the sheer fact that he has no soul to kill. Even Baldur could be permamently killed without his curse. What Garmr needed to be 'killed' was the ultimate source of life itself: A soul. Of every foe Kratos has faced, only Garm had the savagery, power and sheer deathless hatred to overpower Kratos. In fact, when you look at it this, way, Garm is a mirror of old Kratos in the shape of the blood-stained guardian of Hel.
not mostly a theory, more like average narrative versions shenanigans like every other figures across mythology of their own like there are other loki before loki, 2 kratos, and many many more
@Telleva basically, santa monica studio never actually follow some key points of a mythology (included the main god of war) so... yeah, in an actual mythology, garm and fenrir are two debatable for being one entity in theory. santa monica studio just basically put fenrir as a normal dog, get its soul extracted, and shoved to garm. oh, and also jormungandr of which he is just a regular giant in a marble, gotten himself transferred to a soulless "titanoboa"
Does anyone know if the music from this fight is on the soundtrack? It’s pretty much a mix of the dragon fight from GoW 2018 but it still sounds unique and awesome
i hate how every character talks too much during fights. literally shows garm struggling with his chain, meanwhile Atreus "HES CHAIN IS STUCK! GRAB IT! HES DOWN!" im not an idiot boy, i can see it just as well as you, if not better, please stop talking and let me focus on the fight for gods sake! same with freya and all other companions...
13:07-13:35 Atreus you Have some NERVE To be Saying anything About trust Or keeping Promises to Kratos when All you Have been Doing is lying To him Throwing temper Tantrum like A petulant Child And Going to Other realms Without him And also Keeping secrets From him And Trying get Freya to Fight with You when She could've Killed you If she Wanted to Need i Mention how You search Trying find Tyr got Brok killed

Yep, plus he looks almost exactly like Fenrir does at the beginning of the game.
It seems like it gets smaller
His disposition changes too from violent to friendly
DUHHHHH
So rather than killing Garm, Atreus put Fenrir's soul into Garm's making him Fenrir.
He turned him into a good boy.
@@65firered the goodest boy
I am glad fenrir is back, I miss him so much.
He literally deserves all the snacks, ALL the snacks >_
How else you gonna kill an already dead enemy?
Bring back to life.
I love how even kratos himself got surprised when he saw garm alive after he killed him the first time.
It made me chuckle 😂😂😂... HOW???
"so thats what thats like, not groovy" - kratos' mind
Now he knows how the Olympian Gods felt like when he came back from the dead and denied his own death. 🤣
Garm is unkillable but with fenrir soul he’s possibly killable now
Garm went from dangerous to the most CUTEST LIVING CREATURE I'VE EVER SEEN IN MY WHOLE LIFE... GOSH I WANNA HUG THAT BIG BOY
Fenrir crawling towards them at the end was cute af and had me dead
5:55 Finally, Kratos returns to using structures or objects around him to defeat the boss. Because I think what makes God of War interesting is the use of structures or objects around to help defeat giant creatures.
He did use them to defeat the dragon in the previous game
@@electricon1111 He always does.

ok.
10:56 Love Atreus’s theme playing when he jumps on its back
AND HOW GARM'S THEME IS A RENDITION OF HRAEZLYR'S THEME FROM 2018
Went from unkillable monster to the goodest boi
From the undead wolf to the sweetest big dog.
This has a little bit of the Hydra vibes from the first god of war
true
POV Boy turns other Boy into Good Boy
Garm is the most powerful boss in GOW Ragnarok, no one can change my mind.

Honestly this is the best magic Atreus has done like he revived his best dog and basically gave him a new body😊
6:43 helpful hint near the objective: “run”
This is how you do big creature boss fights (looking at you FromSoft with your silly scratch the feet a bunch nonsense)
I love how he’s a massive wolf but I’m still like “awe poor little baby was chained up🥺”
Ah yes. Everyone's favorite combo in games. Hard to kill and has a second phase😂
There is a theory that Garmr and Fenrir are the same being. 🐺🐺🐺
Yep, and this game plays into that theory. Genius, really.
not mostly a theory, more like average narrative versions shenanigans like every other figures across mythology of their own

Wtf could've happened in the future to make him so monstrous?

@Telleva meaning to say, both giants are not biologically related to atreus in the game, as opposed to the actual norse mythology
How i fight when a dog is chasing me
In Norse mythology, Garm and Tyr fight during Ragnarok . He and Tyr kill each other.
Does anyone know if the music from this fight is on the soundtrack? It’s pretty much a mix of the dragon fight from GoW 2018 but it still sounds unique and awesome
I was like 'Nice Doggy, good doggy' lol
So now they have a op companion
And he's best boi!
Anyone else think of Valkyrie from Thor: Ragnarok shouting, “This stupid dog won’t die!!” whenever Garm kept coming back to life?! 😅😅
Someome please upload the soundtrack of this fight
funny, Garm has almost the same attack pattern from the Hydra in GOW 1
This fight really feel like a Monster Hunter fight x/
most epic bass in the game
And Thor
@@Bullet-Tooth-Tony- no
@@lordnggamermtpoppy3829 The first fight was wicked tho
Evidently there's a bug where the r3 prompt doesn't appear and the fight gets stuck in limbo cause I can't execute the blades
Anyone else think of the Big Bad Wolf Nursery Rhyme when they see Garm?! 😅
I do now
Anyone know the name of the theme hear ? Sounds like the Dragon theme from the first one but betger
giant doggo
"SIT."
[Earthquake]
This whole mission was very kratos like. Quick cutscenes of pure carnage. That massive chain crashing into him after the first fight. Dope mission
That chain's gotta weigh thousands of pounds.
Pounds ? You mean tons
@@ryuubuku8386 yeah whichever
Does anyone know the soundtrack playing in the fight at 4:00. I've listened to the entire ost for this game and I'm not finding it in any of them.
It's a remake of the dragon theme from 2018.
@@FierceDeity35 Thank you! Loved this soundtrack during the fight I wanted to find it so badly.
What's the name of the track that plays during this fight?
Hasn't been released yet, but it's a remake of the dragon theme from the 2018 game.
@@FierceDeity35 Do we have a release date for that track?
@@thedarkoracle4807 i dont think it will ever be released. Im waiting for someone to record and post on youtube

same with freya and all other companions...
... Okay? "I'm mad the characters react to stress in battle like someone actually would!" just mute the game then and shut up.
Well the player in this video clearly couldn't see the chain being stuck.
I hate how you complain about them talking?, if you don't like it then mute the TV other than that shutup clown..
Glad garm killed odin
