      Girl your messing with my fat intake, but I think I will try this. Especially since I’m diabetic and over weight lol.
      FYI: you can soak the chicken in a vinegar water for 20 minutes and then rinse it and Pat dry. It WILL NOT be any more tart than with the limes. Saves money. I use my limes for juice and salsas.
      Also, I use a oil spritz bottle. You can evenly coat it better. I have made chicken like this before lol. I thought it was different, but your right about it tasting as good as deep fried.
      Have a blessed day

      Chile! I recently saw this thread where women were going back and forth about whether chicken even needed to be rinsed! Many seemed to feel you should just take it out the pack and go straight to seasoning and cooking it. They say that the heat takes all the harmful bacteria out. 😱 Oh no, no. It is first getting thoroughly washed in lime, lemon and salt and rinsed thoroughly!

      I don't think meat needs to be rinsed (I'm in the UK so maybe practices are different here), but if you do do it, you must wash the sink and your hands after or you are just spreading bacteria around. The lime/ vinegar etc will kill some bacteria, I'm just not sure it's the same as proven modern food hygiene practices.

    Before I started to watch black people cooking, I just rinsed and washed my chicken off with clean water. I am so happy I got the tips about using lime, lemon, vinegar, or even just salt. I usually rub it with salt and wash it off very well. And yeah... White folks don't do that and it drives me crazy. I need to try this with my own hot sauce I made from my garden grown chilies 🌶🍗❤

      I’m white and I don’t know anyone that doesn’t wash their children and pork before cooking. One reason is bon slivers but with chicken it’s can be feather remnants and other things. It would be gross not to rinse it off. I don’t think it needs vinegar. That would kill germs but the ringing should be enough and cooking.

      Me too! Why is it that our white grammas didn't teach us this? I think my Gramma used vinegar? But I was so little back then I'm not really sure..... I usually got shoo'd outa the kitchen cuz Gramma didn't want me "under her feet". LOL

      From Drexel University - "Chicken has already been washed. Today’s manufacturing cleans the chicken, so there is no filth, feathers, or anything else on it that needs to be washed off. Poultry may have a coating of water and protein: this gets cooked off -- or you can remove it with a clean paper towel and then wash your hands."

      An air fryer is a oven the only difference is it"s smaller. It"s called "deep fried" for a reason you need oil to do it.

    Just quick tip, its easier if you add the oil to your panko then coat the chicken.

    • @mettamorph4523

    • @wild_gypsy_rose
      @wild_gypsy_rose 2 місяці тому +2

      @mettamorph4523 not at all. you drizzle a little oil into your bowl of panko then stir it together. All the panko gets lightly oiled. Then you just coat your chicken as normal. It is a more even crisp, and less mess and no wasted oil by drizzling it on the chicken when it is already breaded and trying to smear it around.
