Been waiting for this game ever since that first downloadable demo that was still in the early stages of development! It was rough but had so much pixelated charm to it, and some features that the later demo didn't have.
@@Khaim.m the gameplay is actually a little different now. Starting fires is one building now, the locks appear to not be recycled from above (thank God), and the weather and animal system is completely different.
The Terra Nil demo is actually what got me hooked on RCE in the first place. So excited to see you get your mitts on the full version! I see that line at 1:27...
They've changed it! I've been playing the demo over and over waiting for the release and now it's here. The cloud seeder is new, I miss things going green before recycling things... now you have wait for the rain for the whole thing to go green.
fynbos : a distinctive type of vegetation found only on the southern tip of Africa. It includes a very wide range of plant species, particularly small heather-like trees and shrubs.
I love the concept of this game. Even if it's just virtual, it feels good to make something grow when every day you hear about so much of our natural wilderness being destroyed in the real world. Edit: Per their steam news, it turns out buying the game actually helps support environmental conservation in the real world as well! "We are donating 8% of our profits from Steam sales to the Endangered Wildlife Trust. An organization that is dedicated to conserving threatened species and ecosystems in southern and East Africa to the benefit of all."
Hi Matt I have noticed the games you decide to play are often the same ones Intern and Blitz play. Sometimes they mention you and you have mentioned them back. I'm curious if you guys would ever collab with each other to play something like Sons of The Forest or Raft that has construction elements but also requires working together to survive?
I think they might have played together once or twice, a year or two ago. I'm recalling a survival crafting game, I think, but I can't recall which one.
@@OriginalPiMan I found a video from around that time that included Blitz, intern, and ImCade. The video is titled "DESTROYING my friendships..." and now I'm starting to wonder about the validity of that title since It was so long ago.
I mean i do know that baronvongames is a friend of rce, and like 2 years ago, blitz, baron intern, and frazzz did often do videos together, mostly Forts, now it is more like blitz and intern or frazzz and intern
im sure you are probably already onto it, but "against the storm" on steam seems like a game thats right up your alley, its a rogue like city building resource management game with beavers and upgrades and things like that which u love
about the burning part- a controlled burn is when a part of a forest is purposefully burned under controlled conditions during a set time when it will be least dangerous . there are a couple reasons for this: to prevent out of control wildfires by preemptively burning flammable material , reducing plant matter to ash to help it decay faster and sooner return nutrients to the soil , and to thin out tree cover making it easier for the sun to reach new trees and plants . it also helps get rid of invasive plants , and some species of pine trees cant reproduce without a wildfire first . a long time ago small fires like this happened often , but they happen naturally less often now , so ecologists do it themselves . it has a very high success rate !!
Somebody told me to go here since blitz didn't get 100% humidity Edit:also at 12:26 when rce says "waterboarding" there is message at the bottom that says "didn't seem to have a problem with it when it was your editors"
I'm not sure how many south africans are watching. But the fynbos is a large open field of grass flowers and small insects and it is pronounced fyn as in thin and bos as in bush
When I played the demo and it picked up the drone I was giggling like mad. I was so happy about picking up the little drone. This game might not fill all my building needs, but it will definitely fill my happy feely wholesome needs.
Don't tell me you played this years ago. I remember watching that video and it doesn't seem that long ago. wow how time flies when your not an architect
Hi Matt. I am asking again for you to play open ttd. Its quite like transport fever 2. I think you can play with your friend "The spiffing brit " to add the cherry on top.

"I'm an engineer, I'm used to destroying environments, not replenishing them" - Love it!
Truer words have never been spoken.
Proceeds to burn half the map......

Its been over a year since the demo, finally they are going to release it.
Been waiting for this game ever since that first downloadable demo that was still in the early stages of development! It was rough but had so much pixelated charm to it, and some features that the later demo didn't have.
It looks like they haven't changed the gameplay much, if at all, just upgraded the graphics. Although maybe later levels have more stuff.
ohh thats why i thought wait didnt you play this and how did i remember that it was a year ago
@@Khaim.m the gameplay is actually a little different now. Starting fires is one building now, the locks appear to not be recycled from above (thank God), and the weather and animal system is completely different.
8:50 "Hydroponium, Latin for seahorse of course." Highly underrated pun. Well done, Matt.
i remember this game from a while back glad youre playing it again
Yup, I remember watch the demo too.Somehow I remember Matt's and Drae's videos more vividly than I remember My formulas😂☠️
As a south african i can tell you that the the word fynbos means “fine bush” in the Afrikaans language. a type of shrub found in the cape
Dis nogals vreemd om dit te sien in n game lol
@@fearfully3496die mense wat die game maak kom van Kaap Stad af, het hulle gaan google

Als Nederlander dacht ik al wel het Afrikaans te herkennen.
If you pronounce it like "fain boss", then it'll be pretty close.
Me playing Factorio while watching this: Oh, well, I'm glad someone is cleaning up this pollution. **Adds another smelting array**
That's actually a nice little sequential headcanon
You saw it, everyone! Matt's no longer an engineer! He might as well be an architect at this point
@Expedition Rollercoaster real shit architect
WHAT!!!😮
Not engineer ≠ Architect
Please note that Matt is a Civil engineer and not an Enviromental engineer so he’s still an engineer in my book.
I am shocked and appalled. 🫢
I've been looking forward to it ever since the demo, so happy it's about to release because it's such a cool concept!
Man this game has been on my steam wishlist for ages. So glad to see it finally getting released
The Terra Nil demo is actually what got me hooked on RCE in the first place. So excited to see you get your mitts on the full version!
I see that line at 1:27...
The grass spreader thing doesn't need the normal ground, it can also spread on the burned ground, it works just as well
They've changed it! I've been playing the demo over and over waiting for the release and now it's here. The cloud seeder is new, I miss things going green before recycling things... now you have wait for the rain for the whole thing to go green.
As an environmental scientist, I’m very excited for this game to come out. I pre ordered it so I’ll be playing as soon as I can!
Please go for 100% Planet restoration! This could become an amazing series.
Although I think he is waiting for the general release of the game.
I remember playing the first demo they ever released, what a change from then.
fynbos : a distinctive type of vegetation found only on the southern tip of Africa. It includes a very wide range of plant species, particularly small heather-like trees and shrubs.
I’ve watched several people play this and am finally satisfied with someone’s (yours) amount of map completion! Great video!
Praise Motorway Matt! I look forward to seeing him repair the planet to perfection!
Me too mate

There's also some overlap with Splattercat when it's an indie game

8:49 "The hydoponium - Latin for 'seahorse', of course." That right there is why I keep coming back to RCE. 😂
Downloading the demo now. Just bought INFRA today during the spring sale after watching you play it. Cheers.
I really love this series. I watched your first trial run and glad to see you're back to it.
I hope you can progress to an engineer soon enough.
Yessss. I’ve been wanting to see this so much. The demo was so good and I love it.
looks good.
when i hear terraforming i can't stop thinking of Spore
I remember when you played the demo for this, such a cool game!
Oh praise you for reading the descriptions on the animals
Anyone else notice Matt repeatedly calling the toxin scrubbers, “toxin spreaders.”
im sure you are probably already onto it, but "against the storm" on steam seems like a game thats right up your alley, its a rogue like city building resource management game with beavers and upgrades and things like that which u love
I’ve been watching other UA-camrs play this and omg they do it so inefficiently, can always count of rce to do things efficiently and satisfyingly
it's cool that when he made the first video i started watching him.
It's beautifull, you absolutely have to continue the serie
My goodness I am excited to see this again.
Love the "Editors comment" about waterboarding - "Didn't seem to have a problem with it when it was your editors" 🤣🤣🤣
The fynbos is pronounced like fain-boss. It is an indigenous area to South Africa 🇿🇦, our national flower the Protea is also a Fynbos flower
The devs of this game are also South African 😊
I have a friend, in south africa....im german just saying XD....and we met each other at a tank Game... World of Tanks Blitz

I played this during the orginal game jam, was already good then. Such a solid and novel idea.
I remember playing the prototype of this on Itch, its grown a lot since then
I saw a billboard with this today and thought of this channel. "Every man is the Architect of His Own Fortune!"
12:27 editors don't get enough respect
You are the best engineer in the world
"controlled burn"
Matt's engineering is peaking
WHAT?! IT'S COMING OUT?! I've had the demo for ages and I think it's so fun!!
Oooo, solarpunk! Love it!
I bought this when you played it.. excited for the release because I beat it and forgot about it so.. thanks
watching you play the demo of this was actually the video that made me subscribe!

Three weeks since the last Timberborners video?
Inconceivable!
I am so happy about this game. I played the Demo when it came out, and I am not going to lie. Most relaxing fun I had since EVER!
I'm appreciating! :D
“Hydroponium-latin for seahorse”. Huh? “That word- I don’t think it means what you think it means.” Inconceivable!
I'm so jealous of you getting early access.
Real Civil Engineer is now Real Landscape Architect
Matt!! I love your videos so much. Can we get a part 2 to the factorio defense game :) thanks
Wow really like that game 😍
It's like you are building all the maps for the beavers in Timberborn! Wonderful crossover XD
This looks really nice I can’t wait to play it!
Love this video Matt, looks like a fun game. Would like to see more gameplay of it
This was a great playthrough, and I can't wait to see more!
I'm not sure how many south africans are watching. But the fynbos is a large open field of grass flowers and small insects and it is pronounced fyn as in thin and bos as in bush
my gosh fynbos is a afrikaans word !! means Fynbos is a small belt of natural shrubland or heathland vegetation. thats my language lol
This was really fun the last time you played it, wouldn't say no to a few more
You don't have to scrub burnt land, and it actually gives you more points to just irrigate the ash
Awesome concept of a game. Your video makes me want to buy it. Thank you
The air ship thing is VERY efficient.
So happy to see this game again! Looking forward to seeing more!
Looks like fun! Thanks
Appreciations!
*relaxation*
feels like this games been in development for like 5 years. ive been so excited for it, but then i forgot it was coming out.
THE THING I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR HAS FINALLY COME!!1!11!!
16:47 Of course the salmon are still in there - they used a fish ladder as part of the lock to help them upstream.
I love this game, lovely ur playing it!
I played the demo for this the day, awesome game!
Very excited to see this gameplay
As an ecologist, I welcome you into our ranks for as long you may stay. Yes you may keep your hardhat.
This game is amazing really playing with ya feelings!!
When I played the demo and it picked up the drone I was giggling like mad. I was so happy about picking up the little drone. This game might not fill all my building needs, but it will definitely fill my happy feely wholesome needs.
I want a whole gameplay series of this game 😍

very relaxing game
I played the demo an incalculable number of times
I’m sure the rock has great personality
Please play Dysmantle, it is very fun. I say this from experience, if you can get resources, get it, and try to get the kill signal thing
Tht was more like Timberborners than I thought.
please continue this series
Ahh. They fixed the Recycling Silo exploit of hot-potatoing the silos until everything's collected inland. Makes sense but dang.
Hi Matt. I am asking again for you to play open ttd. Its quite like transport fever 2. I think you can play with your friend "The spiffing brit " to add the cherry on top.
This is a netflix game?!! I thought netflix gaming was gonna be a farce, but this isn't bad.

Doing nothing but fail buildings
The Engineer stepped in.
I've been failing since my degree

Like the way it's meant to be
Well, I guess I can't create anymore

This man's trusses are better than mine
But to my skills, the Germans say "Nein"
And I know I will need a better guide

The original song text:
This Romeo is bleeding
But you can't see his blood
It's nothing but some feelings
That this old dog kicked up
It's been raining since you left me
Now I'm drowning in the flood
You see, I've always been a fighter
But without you, I give up
I can't sing a love song
Like the way it's meant to be
Well, I guess I'm not that good anymore
But baby, that's just me
And I will love you, baby, always
And I'll be there forever and a day, always
I'll be there 'til the stars don't shine
'Til the heavens burst and the words don't rhyme
And I know when I die, you'll be on my mind
And I'll love you, always
Cool
