I would assume it's passing from the bone marrow into the blood vessels. Which considering how hostile it is, is trying to represent the white blood cell and immuno response of the body.
And no, that localised damage to bone marrow? Relatively minor and probably barely noticed.
And yes, nowhere near the bowels, rectum or intestinal track. Yet.

Actually, there are some viruses that have DNA instead of RNA.

@@benoitloubens7691 I was going to say the same thing. A good (and relevant) example is the Monkeypox virus.
Those are Caudovirales, and do carry DNA. The real problem is, those are bacteriophages: they kill bacteria, not humans! Also, bacteriophages are a good thing to have in the gut! They help us!
I like how you play as a virophage in the beginning, which is basically a virus but for other viruses and has the potential the improve the health of the host organisms. You’re the good guy!

Actually they do look like a water tower infused with a spider. Or i guess you could say it looks like a lunar lander, but they are called complex viruses and bacteriophages are an example of complex viruses. Other ones are spherical(Covid-19), polyhedral(adenovirus), helical.

Boy they (the makers) needed some exposure badly, hm? I can kinda see why. It's like they thought the best part of the early 2000's gaming era was the progress bar during the installation progress.
If the game is unable to be creative enough to avoid an artificial 'timer' that does nothing but make the player wait while absolutely nothing happens on the screen, then yeah you're gonna be in trouble.
And then following the progress bar is another waiting period for the cell to pop...
remember back when virus-based games were something you wouldn't give a second thoughts to? yeah... better times...

This game looks like it could be quite fun, but it's not nearly polished enough I don't think.
The movement seems aggravaging and boring, sure it should leave room for upgrades, but it's the sort of movement that you'd find in a mediocre 2000's era flash game.
And the AI for the viruses could be better, or let you control them or just direct them somehow.
I don't mean to shit on the game, but it feels exremely unfinished.
Day 4 suggested RCE to play a mobile game called DEPOTISM 3K, because there is a shaming wheel and strongges shapes on it.
Pro Tip- click the three dots and change the play speed to 1.25

Hey Matt, and any one else interested, kurzgesagt did several videos here on UA-cam about the immune system. They are all well done and crazy well thought out. If you are like me and find biology fascinating you will love them. This game seems to done good showing the response of the body to infection. The immune system is freaking crazy, so crazy it can outright unalive you if it gets out of control.
