So mine started making that noise than instantly started clanking and everything. I'm assuming I gotta replace the whole differental or how should I go about out this
I would try and check it out first like I did in the video. It isn't just that the differential is more expensive , but there is a lot more work required , plus a trip to the alignment shop. If you remove the coupler you should be able to feel the bearing drag. It's not always but most of the time the coupler is at fault. The aftermarker I put on mine is still working perfect. Oddly enough My Rogue is currently at the Stealership. And they're telling me, tgat the rear coupler also needs to be replaced. Not sure how you got a $300. Price tag for it. Because, Nissan's parts department told me the part cost a Whopping $2,725.00 So im a bit confused. I guess it been a fkn headache for a Lonnnnh time. FFS, Youd think by now, theyd have there shit fixed.
I wonder if they are required to replace the whole differential. Seems way too expensive for a coupler. Their oem bearings don't seem all that good at the rate of failure . I know I am glad it was only the coupler , the rear diff is way more work. Also I had just had an alignment done and would have disturbed that as well. Anyways the aftermarket coupler is working great , so far no issues. Thank you for the feedback.
