This chest workout was PUNISHING! One of the best I've had in a long time. With super range of motion, reaching (love that cue) slowly controlling, and pausing, it's revolutionized the way I approach the basics. Cuts out all ego, is better on the joints especially shoulders, and nets a higher stimulus. Dr. Mike and Jared Feather IFBB Pro are masterminds and I'm grateful to have been trained by them, as the in person experience truly hits differently. Much love, and I hope you all try out this effective workout!
Seeing those 65 lbs dumbells makes me laugh because I was doing 60s the other day... I'm only 126lbs. Did 4 sets of 8-10. Time for somebody to cut and show your real size?
1. Bench press is not a lift I'll do. 2. You don't understand physics. A large body can move more mass. There is less pressure for a given force. 3. The video here shows 2 plates. Are you talking about 225, or 405? 4. Reps are important. Yes they did 4 sets of bench, 4 sets of dumbbell press, and dips. I was making the point I can at least do the dumbbell press he did. I haven't tried 225 bench because bench is not good for the shoulders. Every bodybuilder knows dumbbells are better for gains. From what I see in this video I am like 6 months away from this jacked behemoth. Yet I'm less than 130 lbs. That's my point. You go into ego lifting zone asking for peoples max bench.@@Ventryx

Big props to all three of them. Jared advice on all the chest exercises is top-notch and really loved Dr. Mike way of performing the dumbbell bench press. 💪👍🙏
Crazy how he went bald at the same time his veins increased In diameter, at the same time he got a lot bigger despite a reduction in caloric intake and bodyfat%.. but I know lots of natties blow up with size after 6 years lifting, and then lose hair and get increased vein size (not just increased vascularity)
@jordanlewis4308 cant believe you actually spent time to write that out as i feel so much more like a total waste of life just having stopped to read your shit post.
his progress is slow and steady, everything documented on the channel, every struggle and every new programming discovery. He shared both is frustrations and his successes, personally I believe he’s natural 100%.
@@jordanlewis4308 Lazy comment, everything is documented on his channel, bulks, cuts, bearmode and all. And bruv's been balding for years, simple male pattern baldness, shit happens. You are mistaking leanness for "bigness", Alex cut for his recent (natty) bodybuilding show- people look bigger on photo & film when leaner, you can simply see more of the muscle, striations, veins etc. Alex is natty
He is built for pushing. However there are loads of shorter people, with shorter arms that are weak as kittens. He has clearly worked very hard at it for a number of years.
Been trying to spread the knowledge of lengthened biased movements with my gym bros. I know plenty of strong guys who half rep all their dumbbell work and bounce their barbell bench. Not only is that just ego lifting, it's not as effective for muscle growth, and worst of all it just adds a lot of fatigue without any benefit for muscle growth or even "true" strength. Controlling the bottom position on chest movements completely alleviated nagging pec tendon issues for me, got me a lot of new growth for someone with "bad pec genetics", and has allowed me to access a better range of motion. I've been doing the Bald Omni-Man style fly presses for the past several months, and now I can finally do bodyweight dips again without shoulder pain. Gotta lose the ego and take the antifragile mindset. Get as much as you can out of as little weight as you need. Don't just chase numbers and reps, chase stimulus and technique. You don't need to add weight to the bar all the time. You don't need to force yourself to curl the 50s with shite form when you can't control the 30s.
Guy comes in. Picks the heaviest dumbbells. Shoulder presses, doesn't even go halfway, has the shoulder development of a 12 year old. Many such cases, I wonder why. To quote one of the greats, "if form is pure, size and strength will follow"
I really see what he’s saying there about how failure can sneak up on you. I found when I did Alexes’ 500 pull up and 1000 push-up workout, it had a lot of short rep sets, that were easy. But when you do it, it feels easy for a while, but once I got in the 600s for push ups or 300s for pull ups, and training with good technique, that’s when failure really hit me by surprise.
I’ve only recently discovered your channel and having lifted as a natural for 10 years, I had assumed I had achieved my maximum potential. With your simple explanations of techniques for muscular hypertrophy, I realise how much I’ve left on the table. Thank you so much for your simple explanations man. I’m excited to see where I can get to with this new lens on lifting.
Sooooo true. I only had access to planet over the summer. So the dumbbells go up to 75 only. I do weighted dips, then DB bench after. And I get sad that I have to drop the weight so much

Alpha Destiny!!!!! Dang I was just thinking I hope you do a video with him. Been watching him for years. Nice collab! ^__^ Gotta get him back on sometime.
Eugene Teo came up with that 2:24 , it makes sence that it stretches you more given that arching reduces the distance the bar can travel down, it makes sence to arch for a bigger stretch when using dumbbels that can travel below the expanded chest. Maybe tone down your dogma?
I know its not really strongman or Mr Olympia related but if you guys ever run out of ideas or decide to change things up I think itd be really cool to get the teams take on high rep calisthenics, both the scientific range (20-40) and the military ranges (60-100) and maybe why the military loves to go to such high numbers instead of more challenging movements with a "better" range. As someone who does add a lot of pullups and dips (weighted and bodyweight) and a slew of pushup variations I think itd add great insight.
I totally get what they mean about the muscle just stopping, especially on triceps and chest, the exercises go from feeling good, rapidly to extremely ahrd and then shutting down completely where the muscle just goes nope, glad its not just me that gets that
You said not to train to failure but keep 1-2RIR because failure generates a lot of systemic fatigue but the training videos on this channel are intense. Is this style of training only for the videos and the off camera training is lower intensity?
Sometimes you can't progress without going to failure. If you're at 1 rir one week and you need to increase a number of reps the next week, you're likely about to hit failure on most lifts if you're advanced and not stupidly gifted.
Recently I've liked doing dips with an assisted drop set at the end where I start with feet on the ground, emphasising the stretch at the bottom before performing the concentric. Feels like i'm getting something out of it. Usually do weighted sets beforehand.
@@1TieDye1 I don't really push with my feet, they're just touching the ground and taking some weight off until I lift my body about half way up, then the feet come off the ground, and I do the eccentric portion as normal. You could just jump up first and do the eccentric.
