I was there near the front, I don't remember it sounding quite so bad at the time. I was so looking forward to the event, but personal circumstances made it a very strange evening, I had just split up with my partner, we both love Arcade Fire, imagine our excitement when we found out A F were coming to the Isle of Wight. Little did we know a few months later we would not be seeing the band together. She watched the show may be 40ft away from me, don't think she knew I was there. The crowd wasn't bothered, and it seemed like the band wasn't either. A strange, and melancholy evening. Thank goodness I got a chance to see them in Castlefield shortly after. That was a magical evening.
Veo que a muchos no les gusta la combinación que tiene la canción con el violín, yo acabo de ver este vídeo por la TV e inmediatamente quise buscar la canción original, porque al escucharla me fascinó el hermoso sonido del violín (Para mi mala suerte no pude encontrarla, porque originalmente la canción no lleva acompañamiento de este instrumento) tal vez a algunos no les agrade porque sus oídos no están acostumbrados a escuchar la melodía (No lo digo en mala forma). A mi parecer esta canción me encantó, porque combina el género que me gusta tanto, con el instrumento que tanto amo :)
Honestly I think the synth just sounds off because this recording (of the live) isn't EQ'd at all because the volume was geared for live audience ears, not studio recording. Guaranteed if they could hear the Moog that harsh on set he would have trimmed his audio by a lot just on the fly. All I can say is blame the bad live mixer, not the band.
I just saw them last night in Kansas City and you could not hear the Moog like that at all. It was my first time seeing them and I thought they were great. I took my 9 and 13 year old kids and they enjoyed it too.
What happened? I had the chance to see them at the festival "Les Eurockéennes" on the 9th of July and they were AMAZING!!!! So great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I still can't realize! They look and sound exhausted now, which I can imagine, playing and playing over and over.... The electro sound stuff wasn't there either in the song " Everything now". Nevertheless, It's from far the best indie rock ever to me... (in front of the Pixies, which had been the firsts for years) they are "allowed" to be tired.. hi hi... sorry for my pityfull English..
I really love Arcade Fire, I really love Moogs. Nice job sound person. This mix makes me hate both. It's like a deranged Bee is on the loose in the mix.

Omg! First time i'm seeing this performance. I love Arcade Fire, but that synth is just horribly annoying and doesn't do any justice to their sound. Great Song! but poor mix sadly.
I liked Neon Bible almost the same as Funeral. I liked The suburbs but it's not on the level of the first two. It was a nice record anyway. Reflektor I don't like.
they suck.listen to the guitarists lead in around 7 minutes in.its dissonant and doesnt seem to even match the song imo.go listen to the hip abduction if you wanna hear a band doing way fucking bigger things imo.seriously check em out if you havnt yet

Yes. The broadcast mix generally it's made by a different engineer than the band live engineer.
