- Arcade Fire at Pinkpop Festival, June 9th 2014. Amazing performance, though they had to cut their set short due to a thunderstorm. Rococo, Sprawl II (Mountains Beyond Moutains) and Normal Person weren't played.

Jesus Christ, they just throw the music right in your face. haven't seen this for a long time. it touches the soul. This is how music is ment to be. Must see them live before I die!

Attending this concert was the most euphoric experience i've ever had, still getting chills from it
It's exactly 10 years ago, and I remember the whole day almost to the minute. From the early day mugginess, the midday heat, and the absolute anarchy come the early evening. It was such an awesome weekend, but I will never forget this very day.

For the people who complaining about audience.
There are a few things:
- It was Pinkpop monday... Recalled as metal monday, so the most audience weren't waiting for a amazing indie band. More for bands like Metallica, Rob Zombie and Avenged Sevenfold. So the scheduling wasn't perfect.
- Pinkpop is a festival what has most mainstream music... So this kinda music, were for the most unknown. I am sure Lowlands or Best Kept Secret would fit more.
- During this show you see how the win the audience... Arcade Fire isn't big everywhere...
- The crowd was insane!
The best gig Pinkpop emerged in 50 years. At the end, with the confetti, we took off our T-shirts, the rain and thunder came down, but we didn’t back down. We continued!

Still love to watch this back. I was at this concert and it was beautiful. The storm coming in was perfectly timed to the music and when I watch this back I feel the same euforia as I did then!

This was one of the most special concerts bc of all the rain and thunder and so much changed in that hour
It escalated so quickly. I split from my group just to be at the front for Arcade Fire. But as soon as the weather deteriorated to absolute madness, through Afterlife, I rejoined the group really quickly. A day to remember :)
This band is cool, David Bowie, B-52s, and talking heads all wrapped up in one nice package. very cool.
I was there when they were playing and when it started raining ,it is unforgotable
People wining about the crowd......if you were there like I was....most of you would probably sh#t yourself if you were there.😂......biggest thunderstorm Ive ever seen. 60.000 people on an open field, 1600 lightining-eruptions per minute and fierce winds. The Metallica stage was partially put down due to the risk of collapsing. It' s a miracle no one got hurt. Still.....awesome night.

Really awesome setlist, although Rococo and Sprawl weren't played, i think this setlist would be perfect for a mini Arcade Fire concert.
Please know that Arcade Fire is not that well known in Holland compared to Canada or the US for example so most likely for many people in the crowd it was the first time they ever heard of Arcade Fire... taking this in mind I think that both Arcade Fire and the crowd did an awesome job!

Epic moment when they were playing "Wake Up" and it's actually raining. I guess everyone realized powerfully that, when Win (and everyone) was singing: "We're just a milion little gods causing rain storms, turning every good thing to rust, I guess we'll just have to adjust!..."

Robert Mihic I love them but I wouldn’t even say that if you’re considering every band ever. The Beatles? Rush? U2? Led Zeppelin? The Who? The Stones? Ummmmm They are definitely in my top 5? Saw them both nights in L.A. It was my youngest daughter’s first official concert!😍

kwaliteit is volgens mij iets minder dan de vorige, tot nu toe blijft hij erop, en anders zet ik hem er gewoon weer op, heb hem gedownload

Without doubt the worst Arcade Fire crowd I've seen. Everyone looks like they're ready for bed instead of enjoying the fact that they're watching one of the best live bands in the world. Ridiculous.
Bullshit. I was there and the crowd was totally into it and going nuts despite the fact there was a fucking apocalyptic storm happening. You can't judge this if you weren't there.
No, I agree with Colin. Most of the people that day came for Metallica and other metal bands at main stage. Arcade Fire is just not really big in Europe (except for UK) and doesn't make the type of music that fits with Pinkpop. I really enjoyed Arcade Fire at Pinkpop and it's been the best show I've ever seen live yet, but the crowd wasn't really enthousiastic.
Jeroen Keers Doesn't fit with Pinkpop? Arcade Fire fits Pinkpop better than Metallica.. I was standing right in front of the stage and the people over there really enjoyed the show with me. Especially when it started to rain it got really intens.
Jordi W Ik heb er ook heel erg van genoten en stond gelukkig redelijk vooraan hoor! Maar bij Stromae was het drukker rond de 3FM-stage dan hier. Slechts weinig bezoekers kenden Arcade Fire. Ik vond het een enorm gaaf optreden, maar als je deze beelden vergelijkt met Arcade Fire op Lollapalooza of Glastonbury waar ze gewoon echt 60.000 man trekken zijn ze hier toch duidelijk minder populair ;). Wil natuurlijk niet zeggen dat het geen goed optreden was want het was echt fantastisch en met de weersomstandigheden erbij echt magisch!
Ja daar ben ik het wel mee eens inderdaad. Het is eigenlijk echt zonde en misschien was het ook wel om die reden 7 (!!) jaar geleden dat ze in Nederland stonden.. Laten we hopen dat de band nog wel terug wil komen naar Nederland in de komende jaren..

Most agree the crowd comments below, But don't forget this is a festival and not a concert and that's a big difference imo. Besides that, the Pinkpop audience had changed from mostly rock fans to family festival visitors.
OT: this gig was awesome, but I missed most of the part becaused we did not trust the weather at all. We were lucky, people could have got killed that day, just like Pukkelpop a few years earlier :'(

Was er niet bij maar geweldig! De confetti-uitbarsting geeft me altijd tranen in mijn ogen, waarom? I dont know! Zal komen door de geweldige band en de reactie van het publiek! Fantastico!
Same here. Ik was zeiknat (kon na afloop een beker vullen met het water uit m'n schoenen), werd 'gezandstraald' door leger bekers bij die windvlagen en de band ging maar door.
Had bijna zo'n Titanic idee: Achtergrond volledig zwart met af en toe al de 1e bliksem, keiharde regen, windstoten, waarschuwingen op de borden ivm de veiligheid en de band speelt maar door. Zal dit optreden nooit vergeten.
Abençoado Canadá, que nos dá grupos fantásticos como Arcade Fire...sempre!

They're about to end a 1 and half year album tour, this is still the best live performance of Afterlife to me... Rain also makes it more unique
