Football, EFC! all the way. Think of all the Welsh football legends who played for the blues!! You're only in Wrexham area aren't you, the car in this video came from Hull! Jeez i might take my car you lot if I get stuck or overwhelmed, which has been known to happen tbh. Another great video. Boss channel. 👍
Great video as always. I owned a 2013 Fiesta with the same engine and I agree with you about the Gates belt kits. I had mine done at 100K miles and the pulley/tensioner failed just outside the warranty period so had to have it done again about 20K miles later.
Totally agree nothing on the gasket ,gone are the days of red hermetite when i was an apprentice 45 yrs ago👍another cracking video from a true craftsman like myself 😁
INA are an old bearing manufacturer. I worked at Cummins which make diesel engines and we used Dayco for the belts and also the belt tensioners, but they probably bought the bearings in.
Interesting. I've driven these 1.5TDCI's a bunch but never done the belt on one. Funny story I once spent 3 months basically living in a Focus 1.5 TDCI estate. The Donging noise they make when the key is in the ignition is very triggering...
A few months ago I fitted a Gates kit to a 2.0 BlueHDI Peugeot. It was supplied with an INA tensioner, as is OEM. The idler though was Gates own brand with no noticeable bearing branding. I'm sure it will be fine, but I might try an INA kit next time 👍
snap on bonnet prop £100 or broom handle 99p ? hard choice... v Good video, but that exhaust is well past its date..... vosa would kick that straight off the road..... a bit of exhaust bandage round it would get him back to hull to get it sorted out up their or maybe you could do that as a little extra job and a bit of pocket money ha ah
Baz interesting that because the cam and crank are pinned and locked that when you tension the left side of the belt the belt on thr right side cannot tension like the zetec engine. Assume its important when fitting belt to make thr right side as tight as possible.
Im confused, i only work on gearboxes in my shop so i have no need for the coolant vacuum but how does it work? I get the vacuum must be strong enough to force open the thermostat but surely when the vacuum is released to let the coolant flow, the thermostat snaps shut? Or is it a case of no matter what, itll still need to be burped of any air/topped up once up to operating temp?
If you've ever looked at a thermostat there is a little nipple that's always situated at the top that allows air to vent past the thermostat during bleeding
@@bazmeredith of course! I totally forgot about that vent hole! That totally makes sense and now I fully understand how amazing that tool is. Keep up the good work sir!!
7:00 - Quite normal actually... as you know, Gates don't make bearings, they only source those, probably from some sweatshop in Asia. PSA bearings on mine were SNR. Belts have been Continental or Gates. Reassuring to know who the OEM are though.

I do like how the citroen/peugeot engines use pins for the timing.
Nice work as always Baz!!

Hi has, fantastic video as always, curious as to how you support the engine when you take the ramp up in the air?
Sometimes they will just rest on the subframe but I've got a new tool on order that's going to be a game changer

When you route the belt from crank to cam going anticlockwise the belt it tight
nice vid baz and quick question they always say supply genuine cambelts so do you get the same warranty with the other make?

Great video as always Baz, have you ever had any air problems with the coolant refill kit. ?? Think I may have to get one . Thanks 🤙🤙
Nope never buddy it's a game changer

What's the name of the garage I need to book my fiesta in pls
Good one Baz 👍🏻 Are they better that a wet belt 🤔
Yes
Baz,what the make please of that diagnostic scanner launch what 😊
Be interesting to find out just how many timing belts you do in a year. Ford seems to be your speciality.
I hate to think how many I fit in a year as I'm the only one that does them
2025 I'll start a tally, and I'll start from now till the end of the year!!!!
Interval of change in this model???
What's easier to change, this or the 2.0 tdci PSA unit?
There about the same tbh personally
Is this your own garage Baz or do you rent the lift/space ?
I'm part of the furniture buddy worked here for 24 years
What kind of price are we looking at to get this done would you say?
Around £600
mk 5 mondeo 2.0 tdci ,15 plate ,just had a INA pump take a dump .less than 3.000 km done .
I didn't know Roy Wood from Wizard is a qualified Mechanic
