You said that you'd do a cleanup of all the upper stages that you left in orbit at the end of the series. Could you do that with the shuttle and buran?
That would be cool but its a bit small for some of the space junk
@@ccm2059 just make a longer payload bay
@@daviddavis therws something called realism and it would also need to be widened
@Cosmic Gaming theres something called recreating
@@ccm2059 nothing that cant be solved with moar boosters

The inflatable air lock has a decoupler built in but for some weird reason you can only access it from the action groups
Huh, weird
Hello Matt Lowene
@@MattLowne I like you're new vids
Really?
Ye it's true
"I see earth, it is so beautiful!"
In russian: "Я вижу землю, она такая красивая!"
With the N-1 remember to shut down 2 or three of your engines after liftoff, preferably in a single group on the same side.
The end of this series should be the apollo-soyuz mission
Yeah :)
YES
MIR-Space Shuttle
NO
@@Chmicken. Yes
Jebediah and his EVA pack have saved many of my missions about to be accidentally flung into interstellar space.
Me: is scared of clipping parts.
Matt: can recreate real life rockets and land on laythe reliably.
Right when life had me kicked down I come to UA-cam to be cheered up by Matt lowne. Thanks Matt I love watching the videos when life gets stressful
Early in the morning Matt, I can barely keep my eyes open.
@Cosmic Gaming there are different time zones
0:40 hey, ya don't need a decoupler! The onion, pomegranate and pea pods have their owns built in.
Yes but realism
@@CDT_Delta the built-in decouplers are more accurate since they have that thingy on the side of the pod
Thanks for the "correction" - at the exact second you linked you can see I disabled the decoupler action of that piece, because it was only used as a spacer part to more realistically emulate the Vostok shape, and that if you'd continued watching the video you can see that I used the capsule's in-built decoupler to separate the craft prior to re-entry.
Smh
@@MattLowne savage.
@@MattLowne oh, sorry.
Can't wait for the N1-L3
He already did i guess, the video is "the superior soviet moon lander" when he recued a Saturn V capsule on the moon
fireworks are not released yet
I can't wait for soyuz! And Mir!
@@FatovMikhail lol
Good luck fitting that many engines down there, it's gonna be a BLAST
Hello from Russia and thank you for making a video about the Soviet space program
Russia sucks, the US is better, Soyuz and N1 are a deathtrap.
@@nasahistorian8639 are you jealous that we were the first in space?
@@Stepan_Pavlov US landed first men on the moon. Landing humans on the moon is way more complex than sending a man to orbit. To date the US remains the only country to send men beyond LEO and land men on the moon. Ha ha
@@nasahistorian8639 i knew you'd write about the first man on the moon. No one has ever been to the moon, everyone knows that for a long time. If you were there, why aren't you flying there now? Because it's all a lie.
Yay! Vostok and Voskhod are here!
Privet commrade! how the hell do you do this? its amazing tbh
привет товарищ
Good content Matt. I really appreciate your work.
That retro rocket burn was so satisfying
Love your videos man!
I do hope you’ll include Zambia’s Space Program in this series!
HMM YES BARREL GO BRRRRR
Enjoyable and impressive recreations of Soviet spacecrafts and missions. Thank you, Matt!
17:15 Matt lowne : the weather is cloudy with a chance of meatball
Me : the weather is cloudy with a chance of iron meatball
Will you recreate the non-existant missions ?
As N1 moon landing.
Probably since he wants to 1 up everything
Wow, Soviet project, it's very cool!
Love this series
Love your vids Matt they are just amazing 👍
I can tell Matt had a good time with this video
this is once again, the moment weve all been waiting for
Legend has it Matt Lowne has the best channel on UA-cam!!!
Isnt that a fact
Hoping we get a continuation of this series someday! So good!
The Korolev Cross makes the spacecraft perfect.
Good job on recreating the Vostok and Voskhod with KSP!
R-7=my waifu
Korolev Cross=my girlfriend
I woke up to this, best day ever!
Voskhod - sunrise
Vostok - East
AH! I was asleep for the 2nd time when this came out
Also Cool Rocket Garden!
I need to watch this whole series, god dang it
Хорошая работа, уважуха!
Man I discovered your channel yesterday while I started playing KSP like a week ago!
Still learning the ropes (nearly successfully put some kerbals onto low orbit) but even tho im on console, this game is great, and what you do is amazing to me
Edit : I did it! I successfully sent a kerbal into LKO
@@Puttsykid you’re getting there! Trust me, you’ll get used to console’s controls.
Good to hear KSP is still attracting new players.
@@friendlydispatch6283 thanks man i finally landed on mun like 5 mins ago
Crazy! Amazin'
Another great use of the SUPERIOR SOVIET TECHNOLOGY
Next episode: building every spacex Rocket
Nice video!
You forgot the quintessential Soviet predator: the Gopnik
He announces his presence with Xardbass though, so you have a chance to get to safety.
The onion, pea and pomegranate pods (the Vostok/voskhod like pods) have built in decouplers.
can you do more of these, i really like this series.
it's FINALLY here! yay!
Love it !
Well R.I.P my sleep it's almost 2:00 in the morning over here in America and I HAD to watch this the second I was notified
@@kitkat3513 well in that case good morning
@vapju Jack lol neither does mine
This is amazing, I never actually seen the Soviet side!
Hey Matt, I’ve found out that the Woomerang Launch Site is actually supposed to be Baikanoir, because of the geographical location for both of them, since they are so far up north on their respective planets.
Also, the launchpad is built the same way as Baikanoir’s.
There is a launch site called baikanoir but it’s not in the list it’s an Easter egg
@@adamkerman475 where- please show
That's a pretty good recreation
I’ve been waiting all week
Great recreation! You should do the Bor 4 lifting body concept next.
The Soviet space program was wild, I've jumped out of an airplane before but jumping out of a space capsule is on a whole different level.
The ailrlock has a decoupler built in also I believe there is an attach node on the pod for were you put it
Matt you should recreate the Apollo Soyuz mission at the end of the series I know it was after the space race but still it would be pretty cool
I love the rocket garden
U should use modular launch pads which has launch pads for soyuz, Saturn v, Mercury, redstone and lots more also the whole shuttle pad
Great! Now recreate the Constellation Program! I'd love to see your version of it!
The Ares vehicles are pretty interesting.
Ares I, Ares I Heavy, Ares II, Ares II Heavy, Ares III, Ares III Heavy, Ares IV Lite, Ares IV, Ares V Lite, Ares IV Heavy, Ares V, Ares V Heavy, Ares VI.
finally its here
Here we go!
i was laughing so hard when val's capsule landed safely idk why
I believe that for Soyuz family of rockets upper stage lights before decoupling. This is why they have interstage that allows exhaust to escape.
Yes! He finally did it!
Мэт, я доволен. Спасибо
Oh cool I also did the mission on the anniversary.
I would love for you to continue this perhaps you could also do an alternate timeline video with the n1
You didn’t hot stage matt. You’re supposed to fire the RD-0105 upper stage before the main RD-108 core cuts out for ullage reasons (that is, air bubbles in the tank. if the fuel is allowed to float around, then you get air in the engine feedlines and bad things happen. This is why the lattice structure exists: so that the engine exhaust has somewhere to go when the upper stage engine is fired early. You can also get ullage with RCS or solid ullage motors, but the Soviets went “screw it” and just fired the upper stage early.
I cant wait until you can do the artemis missiins
It’s 3am but am happy I stayed up to see this masterpiece
I can’t help to point out what Sergeij Korolev said after a troubled mission, when Valentina Tereshkova finally landed: 'If I ever get involved with broads again...·
Oddly enough that never made it into the ‘Pravda’ and even today it is rarely mentioned…..
Vostok and VOSHOD
Good job, commrade
Best series on UA-cam ! Pleaaase do the Ariane programe
Hey Matt, for situations like your rendezvous at 13:17, and for seeing the other planets while floating through space, I highly suggest a mod called Distant Object Enhancement Continued
Y-you uploaded before I could click... MATT!!! Anyways, I’m sure this is amazing! Brilliant recreations! Keep on going!
The only channel I click Like on videos before I watch!
The end of this series should be the Artemis Program
Maybe
It's not a recreation if it's not created already
FYI - you mentioned there would be two videos on the end screen; I saw blue boxes for where videos could go but no videos displayed (not sure if that's a UA-cam issue or if you need to manually do something)
the second stage of the Vostok ignited just before stage separation to get the fuels settled after stage separation it would throttle up.
Good vid
Nice video
YES FINALLY
If you want to see things from a distance, try Distant Object Enhancement. The mod also includes flares for planets and ships and dynamic skybox dimming.
That's good

no of course not russians know how to play with bears. they were given pistols to raid the entire kennedy space center like why else would they have those lmao.
The hole is used for yeeting? I never knew that!
I like the camera view at every beginning of a launch, could you keep this type of camera view in your next videos? thank you in advance
Don't worry comrade matt, it's OUR picture of a rocket
"we have beaten the soviet union's longest solo time staying in orbit by a hour"
My kerbal around orbit of the sun for 71 years because im too lazy to get him: *_"pathetic"_*
Get the blunderbirds
Matt, there is a decoupler in the making history dlc which you could have used instead of the struts for the fairing look.
Next one should probably be Soyuz (Yes, I dare you to even recreate Soyuz 1, we all know what happened there)
It was destroyed?
@@juzzoo absolutely destroyed on landing
Nice
You could also do Germany, V-2s were the first rockets to reach the space
Germany just had the v2. That would be a pretty short episode
the series is only about manned missions
Wonder why he didn't just use the lattice bracing decoupler that was right there under decouplers, lol... You just raise it up a tad with the engine's "shroud" turned off and works perfect.
lol this is so funny, building a tiny space station using the vostok systems
Been doing that for idk maybe a week and so far my space station is looking nice
Happy Friday!
4:14 думаю для народа, она обнулила статус первой женщины в космосе
Restock now made the inflatable Airlock Decouplable
Я тебя хоть и почти не понимаю, но смотреть приятно
You should do ww2 like the V2 rocket or the V1 etc
