    In this video you can see what the JZS171 Crown engine & JZX100 Chaser gearbox fit like in a GXE10 Is200. Take note this uses all the factory OEM GXE10 crossmember & Subframe assembly, and the factory OEM mounts from the JZS171 1JZGTE and the factory OEM rear gearbox mount of the JZX100 chaser.

    This is brilliant how everything bolts straight in and the wiring is not too different. My IS200 came with a 6 speed but guessing I would still need to get a JZX100 gearbox though?

    Thanks for helping out man, I hope this will work for my LHD model to. I am actually considering using a CD009 but not sure how all will fit, I may actually toy around with the J160 but I'll have to see how things work out.

    yeah, im also interested, would it work with the standart j160 6speed manual from the is200 and if not, wich manual trans is better to get?

    just wondering how your planning on running the motor, and how your connecting the sensors to the dash, so that all the gauges work?

      The jzs171 runs the same multiplex setup the is200 does, no mods needed, won't get economy gauge, and haven't figured a way to get the temp gauge working. Everything else works perfectly in a friends car with the same conversion. I'm just running a defi zd advance display for the rest

      Should have come factory with 1jzgte - the same platform is jzs171 and jzx110, just very minor changes to steering and crossmembers between them all, lots of cross over parts.

    I was going to use the same engine in my is300 do you have any idea how I would do the Ecu or wiring 😬 I've done 1jzs none vvti s into Supra's will this be similar cheers great build

    Can U list exactly what parts needed for a 1jzgte manual swap?
    I know like:
    -1jzgte (jzx110 or jzs171)
    -R154 (wanna go manual)
    -Engine mounts from a crown?
    -Crown transmission mounts?
    -what kind of propellershaft/driveshaft to use?

      Hi, if you want the easiest conversion - find a completely wrecked manual jzx110. Everything you need is there including the drive shaft. And it will all bolt in, I can’t confirm the gear stick location though.

      I'm doing the is200 swap,1j with r154.
      Can you please confirm that a jzx110/Toyota mark2 drive/propshaft bolt strait on?or do i have to use jzx110 diff also?

    hey mate awesome video!!!! couldn't ask for anything better, just wondering what you have to do with a auto is200 and you wanted to put a manual box in? would it bolt up? also what would you expect to pay in total to do the swap like you are mechanic work myself and wiring and exhaust by other people?

      +IS IT depends on what you wanted to do, standard turbo, smallish intercooler? pricing is highly dependent on the market, i recall Jay Leno quoting in one of his Jay Leno's garage.. 'the most expensive custom made alloy radiator would cost a few hundred bucks' doesn't really apply over here... fabrication state side for that sort of stuff might be cheap or expensive where your from.. W55 come standard in IS300 with 2JZ, you could literally bolt one of them + the IS300 manual tailshaft in.. and use the IS300 engine mounts to bolt any version of a JZ in.. you can also use any of the W56/7/8/9 family... the stronger box would be an R154 5 speed.. again there is plenty of options out there for manual JZ.. including bellhousings for Tremec, AR5, Getrag etc.. all depends on power, driving style etc..

    Just want to know did you get your A/C working with your engine swap? I’ve done a 2jzgte swap on mine and it’s a mind fuck to get it to work

      I ended up wiring the compressor signal to the AC cabin switch on the dash.. so when you switch on, it’s on 100%. Never had an issue with the AC in our 40deg C summers.

    Hi, Do you have any knowledge on swapping a 92 Non VVTi 1JZ in to an IS200? In terms of wiring specifically. I have all the engine/gearbox mounts sorted and it is sat in the car. But haven't got around to doing the wiring yet. Do you know if the non VVTi ECU would plug straight in to the IS200 harness with just a few pin alterations like you have done with the newer engine in your car?

      Hi, not even close to being similar, totally different plugs, totally different generation of wiring - the is200 and jzs171/jzx110 chaser both uses Toyota BEANs/multiplex style ecu/bcm etc which is why they were so compatible and primarily why I chose that setup. If I was doing an older JZ I would just run full aftermarket.

    I’d like to know one thing, is an IS200 from ‘98 to ‘05 also equipped with a 2JZ-GE, just like the IS300?

      The Lexus IS200 only came with the 1gfe, there was an IS300 as you mentioned, it’s wasn’t ‘just’ a 2jzge, it had an a650 5 speed auto (or 5 speed manual in some markets) and 8” ‘G’ series diff - same size as JZX90/100/110 (with factory 1jzgte).

    what is the difference between a 1jz and a 2jz? are they both fitting in the is 200 engine bay?
    i have seen some other engine swaps. a v 8 and a sensational v12, aren't they more reliable, ?
    why is a 3 litre turbo preferred^?

      your comment covers across a lot of subjects.. short answer - you can put anything into anything, pending your budget and what your goal is.. why not leave it standard? that would probably be the most sensible and most reliable solution to them all.

    Can't use the j160, the chaser came with an r154, and the usdm is300 (2jzge vvti) came with a w55.. Most guys in the US have OK success with boosting the 2jz and using the w55.. But pending how rough you are they may not take much abuse..
    I stuck with auto as the a340/341 can take heaps of punishment once you modify the valve body and stall converter, proven to propel many cars into the 10's with little failure..

      Hey what wiring diagram r u using to do your swap? i manage to find a part of the jzs171 diagram. i an looking for the other part to complete my swap. can we share info.. i am planning to run mines totally stock with the JZS171 ECU.

      JZX110 Wiring Diagram is 99% same as JZS171, infact the ecu's are interchangeable. mine is running and driving now all on the stock JZS171 ECU. i'll be posting more video's of mine running over the next few days/weeks be sure to check my other videos.

    Just wondering what gearbox to go with, really only want a manual and looking at around 400hp and want the shifter to line up ofcourse

      It’s up to you the r154 isn’t a nice feeling box, very long gears and very expensive, Tremec options and Nissan cd009 are both 6 speed options, plenty more strong than r154 (people break them with little more than standard power when flogging them) and the shift feel is way better than the hilux based box.

      w58 remote shift will fit nice but you'll probably shred it with more than 350 hp

      Yes, they revised a lot by way of short feel in the w55 is300 manual that North America received, lots of low boost NA+T setups still use the w box.

    Hi mate , I live in Japan and a fan of the non vvti , will this engine work for the conversion in an Altezza Gita (2JZGE factory) ??? Is this on the JZX forums by any chance? Best info source ?

      +JDM Daily plenty of non VVTI 1JZ and 2JZ in IS200's... depending on how much of the OEM equipment you want to work, and if your budget extends to full aftermarket, or if you want to run multiple ECU's etc. physically it will bolt in the same.. electronically - different story.

      MrExtremeboost MAX Boost I have a choice of a JZX100 Chaser 1JZ with R145 swap and big turbo upgrade running on an Apexi AFC ... Very tempting but a bit of a high mileage engine. Although the Garrett To4H 5 speed and the Apexi PFC alone are worth half the asking price of this full car + it has has TRD diff , full roll cage drift knuckles ...

    front sump or rear sump? I just discovered this thing and eBay shows engines with two different sump options. not deep into research yet

      i couldn't comment sorry, not sure of the wiring on the 3SGE, fitment wise - again not sure if the use the same cross member as the 1GFE, i'm sure some googleing or ToyoDIY would be able to confirm the cross member part numbers etc.

      No, but I have heard of some adaptors from the UK. The j160 is surprisingly strong from what I have read also

    hey, did you have any issue with the air con system (compressor) due to the conversion, or the speed meter on the gauge cluster not working?

      Both worked - air con I hard hard wired permanently on. Didn’t have time to work it out when it was running - and running it 24/7 for over a year had no ill effects anyway :) speedo was fine - I’m assuming your doing auto to auto conversion?

      The only thing is my brother wants to keep the factory LSD 6 speed gearbox lexus is200 comes with will gs300 engine mounts work ?? Need help 😅
