Buy a All4Swap can converter, it will make everything in the car work like factory ex. A/C, fuel gauge, temp gauge, outside temp, etc. Also get a ATEMU VVTI is basically turned off because the auto trans harness cant plug into the w55. I suggest you also buy a patch harrness or make one to keep all those wires in the ecu box looking nice and neat. Like so he can see this lmao
For anyone else running into startup issues after swaps similar to this one. The MAF is different than a MAP sensor, albeit similar function, but ecu samples them differently. Now you can startup an engine without a MAP sensor connected. The ecu will just go into a loop limp mode, but engine will stay running. But with the MAF sensor, it has to be plumbed, or engine will cut out. Cuzz Mass Air Flow Sensor, vs Manifold Air Pressure. MAF reads at intake before throttle body, and MAP reads after throttle body at the intake manifold. MAF is the only way the ecu measures the volume of air intake, so it can curve the fuel and ignition map, and then checks the margin of that volume measured at the MAF, with the O2 content at the O2 sensor banks. Its a loop. So having MAF sensor not connected, or connected and not plumbed fully, will result in a intermittent startup and ignition kill the minute the ecu's measurements are out of operational spec.
Also why codes like P0171/P0174 show as bad O2 sensorsnwhen they're much more likely to be a vacuum leak after the MAF. Having that MAF so far from the throttle body means a lot more failure points for vacuum lines
@@Mqxwell Its usually cuzz its a linked component thats affected by it indirectly. For example, if an engine is misfiring, you will get codes related to O2 sensor values not matching with expected levels read at the MAF /MAP, and usually a Lean Code on the specific O2 sensor bank that reads the exhaust coming from the cylinder with the misfire, along with a misfire code. Some wont even do a misfire code. Or another example if there is a sticky fuel injector, it ECU wont be accurately controlling its PWM frequency equal to the good injectors, so u would misfire or thats the symptom, and ECU will throw both a rich and lean code, sometimes an evap code as well if too much unburned fuel starts building up cuz of the sticky delayed, or failed injector stuck open. But the actual component is just the injector. Those additional codes are codes the ECU first indexed as pending codes as it was seeing variables not within the acceptable operating margin, and queues up the codes as its seeing fuel lean out, or richen after O2 read, and when multiple out of margin values start poppin up, the ECU throws the MIL on, and it also releases the pending codes to fault codes. But lets say the issue got fixed right away, and values are back in margins it approves according to factory/tuner programming, then the pending codes will just be stored and MIL doesnt get turned on, till next time issue returns. Its just the way the industry adopted OBD, OBDII, CAN diagnostic systems from earlier non computer managed vehicles. Its helps the trained technicians to troubleshoot it efficiently as the symptoms will be consistent across the manufacturers.
Trevor if my content helped at all you should give me a quick mention. I’m a fan. It would be much appreciated! I have several in depth videos on this swap ranging from buying the right engine swap to in-depth wiring on the jzs171 ecu. Most people use standalone but you can save thousands by using the stock ecu in an is300!
I think your videos are way more understandable, trevor talks and works way to fast for me to make it all make sense especially the engine details and what goes where.
@@MotionAutoTv I wouldn't run a W58 unless it's a MKIV/SC300 W58, as they're relatively weak. Maybe up to 400lb ft until they explode. Go R154 or Nissan CD and save yourself the headaches Edit: just saw you got a MKIV W58 👍🏼
I was told in order to reuse the is300 factory 5 speed driveshaft with the w58 you have to swap over the tail housing of the w55 and put it on the w58. I could be wrong I’m not sure. I blew up my w55 a few weeks ago and am ordering a t56-magnum
Nice build, not sure how to say it. But you need to project manage/time manage and you'll have more free time and complete projects faster. I love the builds. And wish you the best.
I miss my 3sge beams 6speed factory body kit biggest regret selling it only coz it lost spark which is common was going do a 1uz or 3uz swap need to find another one cool car to drift
All I could think was the immobilizer when it would fire and shut down after a second. I had a car do that to me before where the immobilizer sh*t the bed so it wouldnt read the key. Had to ship out my ecu and get it deleted. Good sh*t figuring out it was the maf
I love the giveaways and this one in particular. Haven't jumped in yet. You're very tech-savvy here and I'd in the future love to see an EV conversion. Maybe a Civic since I drive the hated EM2 ('02).
My friend has a 1jz swapped one as well, his ac doesn’t work it needs to be wired, can’t find any insight on it. If you get it done can you show it in the next video
Wow, that ABS location... Guess you gotta do that when you need to put a brake booster & master cylinder in the spot it is on RHD cars... Next one gotta cut the back off and put on a wagon body...
Why don’t you use metal push quick connects for the front bumper for easy removal? It’ll save you money on buying a new bumper and my is300 is the same color and with the black push quick connects you can hardly notice
Just found you channel and I like what I see so far!!! I have a 01 Lexus GS300 and I was wondering if I can run that same Break delete system that you using on the IS ,if so what’s it call and where can I order one from? Thanks for your time bro!!! Keep the videos coming…👌
i do a is200 manual j160 gearbox non facelift to a is300 with custom clutch adapter for the j160 and have to mount the engine 5cm to the front. so build my own engine mounts and more. the complete wires have to change about esp and some other trash. i will never do this work again.
Hey I have a 1jz is300 with some issue I can’t figure out. Blue smoke, no loss of power or boost, no over heating or loss of coolant. Small loss of oil. Is there a mechanic in SoCal that I can take it to?
what engine mounts you using? vvti or non vvti? ik i recently mounted one with vvti and was 2inches back. Using the non vvti jz mounts push it foward 2inches
Hey please send me the link for the wiring I’m trying to put my is200 engine swap with a 1jz get same idea as u guys I’m happy to know tht u guys are doing something been dreaming about please help me with info ty

@@liamlpjc95 I just did rn
Does this work with a link ecu ? My car has a link and I’m really looking to get the ac working.
@@Teeszyn no this is only for the stock ecu, Your link ecu should already have integrated can bus (BEAN) feature to make a/c work etc

For the w58 to be used in the is300 you need the w55 shifter housing swapped to the w58. Then everything fits just like oem
We didnt have one

Love these build videos. Great footage, music, editing... just love it!
Man Shawn's a good mechanic Love watching your videos👍🏼👍🏼
The intro is one of the best ones out there! Gets me pumped every time!
Been using Pennzoil for well over a decade now. Good stuff. Project Farm is the GOAT. Great progress on the project!
bro i fucking love project farm. he has shown me so many ways to destroy a lawn mower engine. the pinnacle of youtube education
The paint job turned out great. The car is coming along nicely.
Love his builds but I really want to see him build a trevy spec car. Showing what he really can do.
He has a supra built to Trevy spec i guess
At least with Sean making noise during the intro, ya know work is finally getting done
Nice build, not sure how to say it. But you need to project manage/time manage and you'll have more free time and complete projects faster. I love the builds. And wish you the best.
Woohoo!!! Good job figuring it out! Always a bit of a mess to begin with. But just sticking with it pays dividends. 👏👏👏👏
Almost at 600K subs.... finally

TommyFYeah is going to be pissed. 🤣🤣Trevor you are a mad genius. You should run for president. ✌🏾
Bought merch during every giveaway but can honestly say I think this is something I would actually keep if I won. Just something about a 1jz vvti
Trevor with the '97 Bonnie and clyde reference at 19:43 🤣
You're missing the main 12v supply to the TB for it to work as it's supposed to.
vertex kit bumpers and side skirts is fire

Loving this build so much 👌
Maaan you had us waiting!!!
Could drill a couple holes in the crash support for airflow to the intercooler
will it still have obd2? was wondering if it would pass inspection when it gets plugged in
No it will not
V1 bumper looks class on them
This is getting exciting now. Can't wait to see the finished product. How much horsepower u think this 1jz will make
All the horse power
love it
that shifter issue is because you need to modify the trans tunnel when you manual convert it
i have a full black interior with carpet. just dont have a dash. but have the panels
The issue with your throttle is the tps swap it with one of your other jz cars tps to double check or check it’s ohm resistance
ah nice, you mentioned Project Farm, that guy is the best at unbiased reviews of, well everything.
Project farm is the best.
It needs a cube shifter!!! I have one on mine and love it!
I use pennzoil platinum for like 5000 miles to clean the engine internals then switch back to Amzoil
Awesome Project Farm shout out!
Pens oil is great stuff, great cold start in Canada

Any details on the abs delete? I see chase bays parts obvs..but did you pull and abs fuse also? Ive got a bad abs sensor and would prefer no abs
Can you tell me how you sorted the problem i have the problem with my 1jz swap to a gx100
Those engines don't start without the maf sensor not the vvti ones only the none vvti that uses the map sensor.
Fucking stoked on the shorts for this summer!!

Definitely going to enter. I had an is300 for almost 10 years but I had to sell it cause of COVID. I think if that car everyday
Which intercooler did you get from cx racing? Working on swapping my is300 with a 1jz but not sure which one to get for the intercooler
The thumb nail jz should be a sticker or on a shirt
Dude this thing is sooo sickkk I hope I win
Does the ABS delete cause trouble codes?
what engine mounts you using? vvti or non vvti? ik i recently mounted one with vvti and was 2inches back. Using the non vvti jz mounts push it foward 2inches
Iv always used pensoil. 25years
How much an is300 with 1jz with stock 5speed cost nowadays ?
Is the entry international or only us
What ecu use ? Is or 2jz ?
Maybe the Security system
