DIY Stamps for Gelli ™ Printing: How to create the perfect organic Distress + Grunge Stamp!

- Today we are having some fun in the studio making our own DIY stamps! This is an easy technique that can be done on the fly in your studio. You just need a glue gun, glue sticks and a piece of cardboard (old amazon boxse work like a charm!) I love making these DIY stamps because the shapes are very organic and are perfect for the added touch of distress and grunge to our gelli printing. They add a unique element to my collage papers that you just won't find in store bought stamps. These stamps as the perfect mark making element for backgrounds or as the final layer! Enjoy!

i only just found you in 2023 after my interest in gel plate prints. wow youve been teaching and sharing over 5 years!! so i am enjoying and learning from your 100s of videos. just want to say thank you for sharing so much. i like this glue gun stencil making. you can also have a glue stencil that is not adhered to the cardboard and lay it directly on paper then spritz spray the paint over the stencil while its on the print paper.. when you lift the stencil you have a negative of the stencil on the print.
im also now going to utilize your way now too bc it gives a different effect. ❤ thanks always.

This is so brilliant! Just watched the one on making stencils (and makes!) with a sheet protector, too. This is going to save me so much time and spending and make my own shapes for gel printing! 💜💜💜
I like the smaller gel plates. I only have an 8.5x11. I was going to mention colographs. Glad you did. Don't think I want to use anything to carve on top of my plate 😄 but your pulls using this technique are beautiful! 💛 TFS!

Thank you! i've used both types and I prefer soft, I find that the soft brayers connect better with the plate and creates a smoother roll out of the paint with less brayer lines. With that said, both work!
