Marshal Griep bro mine has Tap the trigger, kill clip, drop mag, arrowhead break, and it surprises me every time. I combine that with bastion and easily wipe teams. Put a counterbalance for maximum control, and just keep people in the midrange (not SMG range, not sniper range) and it dominates there.
In my opinion when you look for a Gnawing Hunger for higher tier pvp like Trials you only really should consider demolitionist as last perk because you never really will be able to make good use out of those super short duration damage buffs against 3 or less people, they don't help you in 1v1 situations and the better your opponents become the less likely they would challenge you blindly right after you proc kill clip on your weapon. Those damage buffs literally only let you pub stomp in 6v6 a bit easier.
I used a breachlight with demolitionist and rampage in trials on the first weekend and it carried me to flawless. Pair that with top tree voidwalker, and I had grenades every round, no matter what.
@@wutangronin Demolitionist almost never comes off for me. I've got a few fusions with it, an Austringer, a rocket launcher, and at least one Beloved. I never used the Beloved but everything else gets heavy use and I love it.
Same, I just farmed for another one and boom, problem solved! Seriously though, it sucked that my OG Gnawing Hunger got tossed, it's not like it was difficult to farm another one
Yeah, it's too bad they couldn't just changing the PL cap on items, instead of reissuing them and making us reacquire. I mean it must be really hard, only explanation for why they only did it for raid gear.
I have a Subsistence + Swash roll, and it's a fantastic PVE gun Nice 43 rd mag, subsistence reloads 9 shots on every kill, and ammo reserves are still around 400. Perfect gun for subsistence.
That's because it's stupid easy to get, you have a like 25-33% chance at a good roll for pvp (if not a god roll), and it doesn't take up the exotic slot. Great video. I have a number of gnawing hunger rifles, but my absolute favorite (on console) is one that's perfect for my solar/throwing grenades all day Titan build. My (god) roll is: Polygonal Rifling, Flared Magwell, Zen Moment, Demolitionist, and with a Range masterwork. I absolutely love this auto rifle for both PVE and PVP. : )

Exactly what I have and people were looking at me all crazy. Specially with Rampage, but I tell you what: In Crucible, control, this weapon is nasty with those perks. I have taken 4 players without reloading. Once I killed the 1st one, oh Lord Rampage went crazy, with subsistence. Great Perks.
I'm sitting on a Gnawing Hunger with Drop Mag, Field Prep, and Rampage. Field Prep offsets the wasted ammo from Drop Mag nicely, and pairing the two makes it possible to pushing the Gnawing Hunger's reload speed to the max by just crouching. Rampage is a breeze to keep up, since reloading is barely a factor. Don't sleep on that combination for PvE.

Yes, I use a controller but I tend to pull almost everything with a Range Masterwork at random. Pretty much my clan hates me lol.

Right! Coming from Fallout of all people I am surprised to hear him pick tap the trigger. If bullet magnetism reduces faster with less stability then wouldn't it make sense to go with zen moment so you can hit those sweet crits? The way I imagine zen moment is like the last word, the sooner you damage them the easier it will be to stay on target!
WhoIs This I 100% agree. It makes opponents feel like stickier targets throughout the gun fight, and also allows me to invest more into range. I have two max range rolls with hammer forged, accurized, kill clip, range MW, and one with TTT, one with zen moment. After TTT ends, the stability just goes out the window, which is esp annoying in med/long range engagements lol
ChargersRGreat in pve I’d be running subsistence demolitionist with a devour warlock. Since throwing a grenade reloads it and devour + demolitionist means a grenade every 3-4 kills you practically never have to reload
It's worth pointing out that you can repeatedly proc Multi-kill Clip with each reload, unlike Kill Clip. Kill Clip cannot be procced while the buff is active, but Multi-kill Clip can. This would allow you to continually chain the buff. Kill Clip is around a 30% buff though, while MKC is a 10% at x1, 33% at x2, and 65% at x3. I think those numbers are right. Could be wrong. I'm a PvE Controller player and I find Zen Moment and MKC fits my style since I habitually reload and run through the mag pretty quick.
I've been out of game for a long time. My son just returned from deployment and gave me a Cayde-6 Funko Pop. Cayde-6 stared at me for two days just daring me to play. I started playing again. I picked up the Gnawing Hunger on my Hunter first and didn't give it much thought when I was stacking it up against Master work gear that I already had. A few days later I rolled a Warlock for the first time. She picked up this rifle and was an ABSOLUTE MONSTER! Needless to say I started working on my Hunter's since then. This auto-rifle acts like an Ikelos SMG that has an AT&T Long distance calling mod. Add a full magazine of ammo and you have what I like to call PAC MAN. DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THIS RIFLE!
Love the video, but after 3,000 PVE kills on a Gnawing Hunger, I have to say that you can’t beat the tequila slammer that is Drop Mag, Zen Moment, and Kill Clip. You burn through the mag, dump it, and BAM, you slam in the new one in and absolutely melt anything in your way. The synergy - and mind melting shock of the experience - is absolutely incredible. I have other rolls - rampage, swash - but there’s no going back from the hit that is Drop Mag and Kill Clip.
My Gnawing hunger (Kill clip, tap the trigger, accurized, smallbore & range MW) is so disgusting that I really think the gun is broken. I only use it when someone uses Mountain Top or goes full sweat in a 6v6)!
@@wazsan Ya damn right. I'm always out numbered 2v1. So shooting a Top shot and following it with a hunger really equals out the situation. I could be an unskilled, shitty player and use Jotunn, Surors, Bastion, Revoker, Beloved, Hardlight but like I said that would require me to be shitty at PvP and I'm not even close to be shitty yet I also don't need to use those over the top meta weapon's to dominate.
Really like the way you have broken everything down in this video, including PVE roll vs. PVP roll and controller vs. MNK. One of the best "god roll" videos I've seen.
I have a PvP roll (small bore, Tac mag, TTT, KC/MKC, and handling MW) , but Gnawing Hunger is so good as a base gun I just use my PvE roll (smallvore, extended mag, ALH, Demolitionist, and Stability MW). ALH is great for high level endgame stuff since having Anti-Barrier is always available 👌
Joining lobby's against six stacks using nothing but this and either bastion or mountaintop or revoker on console when I'm just trying to get good with a new austringer roll I got is shaving years off my lifespan and turning my hair gray
Yeah i feel your pain man. 6 stacks should be removed from PVP entirely. Should be teams of 3 MAX. Just back out in the future to spoil there KD farming bs.
@shu pst they are pretty good. Its just that compared to 150s it like theres no reason for 140s to be a thing. If they had a range buff then they'd be alot more distinct than 150s. One is for med range, and the other is for long range
I have Accurized rounds, Tap the Trigger, can swap between KC and Rampage, and a Stability MW, and a Counterbalance stock for good measure. Super consistent, shreds in both activities.
Other issue with the curated Gnawing Hunger, other than Gambit/Reckoning, is that it is becoming sunset. Unless I am mistaken, weapons acquired from the activities remain at the 1060 power cap so wouldn't be too helpful in ongoing season PvE content.
Got hammer forged, accurized, zen moment, kill clip, and sorta unfortunately stability MW. Love it. I have another that has drop mag instead accurized and its also pretty good.
Had some decent rolls from reckoning a year or so ago. Came back recently and couldn't infuse for light above 1100. Played a couple days and somehow picked up another without noticing that rolled with subsistence and rampage. It's been fun. Oh yeah, accurized rounds and stability MW as well. Lucky me.
Honestly the curated roll is fantastic. You can get up to over 100 rounds in your mag with overflow. Highly recommend trying to grind reckoning for it if you have the chance. Only took me 5 or so runs for it to drop.
Controler user here and i love my toll with arrowhead appended mag subsistence and rampage. Plus stability master work. So i use a rampage spec with mod. Cause its stable enough. It shreds in pvp and pve
I have a smallbore, appended mag, subsistence, and rampage for PvE. I basically have a mini Huckleberry to fuckle around with. It's like I always say, "Don't fuck with the Huck"
I’m in love with this pvp roll (Console) Full bore Drop mag Zen Multikill Reload mw Instant reload, good handling, amazing stability, perfect range, and god tier damage.
For Titans: If you run Xeno/War Rig in PvE (raids, specifically) subsistence isn't really gonna be the be-all end-all perk for you. The reload is redundant, so you're losing reserves for nothing essentially.
I have one with tap the trigger, multi kill clip, and a range mw. One could say that zen moment might be better, but since I play on pc the stability isn’t really an issue. This gun is an absolute beast and I’ve already gotten around 400 pvp kills with it in about a week.
I have THE God roll of Corkscrew, Accurized Rounds, Zen Moment, Kill clip/Rampage, and Stability MW. This set up literally adds to Range, Stability, and handling. It literally gnaws guardians!!
Barrel of choice, extended, field prep, multi-kill clip, reload MW. Max reload speed on crouch, extra reserves, and the best dmg boost in the game. I like the sub swash role more but there's something to be said for the field prep role.
Ran the curated (updated) in pvp...overflow basically turns it into an lmg with so much special ammo around. Honestly, any roll slaps in this current sandbox, the gains from barrels etc feel very minimal. I feel like most of its damage comes from it being a 600rpm archetype. I have a zen + kill clip old and new and the curated doesnt feel any different in fact overflow helps me to mow down more enemies faster with rampage proc'd and 96 bullets constantly being able to load in the mag.
At least for this season (potentially future seasons too) you can put anti barrier on ar's then stack with demo and breach resonator (which I tested and found does not stack with itself) to get great ability uptime (can be stacked with devour for warlocks to get grenades back in 3 kills).
The GH that I use for both pvp and pve has tap the trigger with a choice of kill clip and multi kill clip... I've got the reload speed maxed so when I get one kill... I essentially have an insta proc on the kill clip. It absolutely shreds.
Hot tip: take a Demolitionist Gnawing Hunger, put it on a Warlock with Nezarec's Sin, put anti-barrier on the Gnawing Hunger, and put Breach Resonator on your chest armor. Constant uptime for grenades, whether you're going for Devour or oppressive darkness. It's genuinely insane.
i have a subsistence and kill clip n it’s really good because when i have kill clip activated or in general i can get a bit more kills in control due to the extra ammo in the mag from the kills
for PVE GH with subsistence and swashbuckler with anti barrier mod on a middle tree striker titan with skullfort and/or breach resonator, sustained charge, taking charge, high energy fire and stacks on stacks is beyond insane... you become the most potent ad clear monster
Subsistence/Demolitionist is a combo I don't think enough people respect. You LITERALLY never need to reload ever, and you get Grenades back so fast when on a Nezaraks Sin warlock.
got a arrowhead brake, tap the trigger, kill clip roll GH. i slapped a counterbalance on for 99 recoil direction. i'm good :) Oh, tactical mag and stability MW.
Fallout, much respect for recognizing controller folk. Every one else just calls for range, but maxing out that range means nothing if your shots are going all over the place.
Worth noting that arrowhead brake with a counterbalance stock mod should bring this to a 99 recoil direction, and with a lot of stability it should turn this thing into a laser on controller
My god roll is arrow head break, steady rounds, subsistence, Kill clip and rampage for pve with range master work. Subsistence for consistency kill one and still have enough to kill a second if they are bunched up together, then if you want to hide for a second and proc kill clip then kill if needed. steady rounds for me since i use a controller....if mouse n keyboard id go with range perk instead of steady rounds. Only issue with subsistence in pve i would run out of ammo so you might want to add a savager perk for auto...
God roll: Arrow Head, accurized rounds, tap the tiger kill clips with range Master works. (Controller user) With this roll you don't even need to use counter balance. I use backup mag.
If you could in the future in such videos go over the 4 columns together for each of the control methods that way it's easier to understand and people can skip the less interesting (confusing) difference between mkb and controller and just listen to the part that's relevant to them. Thx
I've grown rather fond of zen and swash in both pvp and pve. I try to get the recoil as tight up and down as i can, even using a counterbalance mod when needed. In my experience, i can not snipe to save my life in D2, and was semi tolerable having my moments were i surprised myself in D1, but unless i have a bounty requiring sniper kills or a sniper is highly recommended in a raid, i advoid them like the plauge. Same goes for shotguns, with the exception of the T. Cannon I always get a chuckle booping ppl into a wall or shutting down a super.
Honestly I though field prep was the dumbest perk in the game until I had my drop mag, field prep, multikillclip gnawing hunger. Actually super useful in pvp, was never caught reloading
I have many god rolls, but my favorite is extended mag, zen moment, and swash, feels the most consistent, I also think kill clip is massively overrated in PVP I don’t want to reload I want to kill them both NOW lol
GunnersM8 Yeah drop mag with Kill clip is nice, but sometimes that extra couple of milliseconds gets in the way of kills, so honestly I’ve steered away from kill clip weapons and my performance I believe has improved on all guns. Even on hunter having to use your dodge when you don’t need to other than for kill clip ends up getting me killed more, but to each their own
I've got a zen demo gnawing hunger with a handling masterwork and solid range and stability, and as an m&k voidwalker, this thing is equipped 90% of the time
Gnawing Hunger is great and all, but I've been rocking my Y1 Forward Path during Iron Banner week since I got it, and it wrecks face. Hands-down my favorite auto in the game.
On Gnawing Hunger, your base mag is 43. Appended mag gives you 5 more bullets, extended gives you 8. Worth? How often are you using those last bullets?

Love the video, but after 3,000 PVE kills on a Gnawing Hunger, I have to say that you can’t beat the tequila slammer that is Drop Mag, Zen Moment, and Kill Clip. You burn through the mag, dump it, and BAM, you slam in the new one in and absolutely melt anything in your way. The synergy - and mind melting shock of the experience - is absolutely incredible. I have other rolls - rampage, swash - but there’s no going back from the hit that is Drop Mag and Kill Clip.
I love my Fluted Barrel, Drop Mag, Zen Moment, Multikill Clip, Range MW for PVP, absolute beast.
Small bore, steady rounds, subsistence, and rampage. Perfect combo for pve. I’m blessed
My Gnawing hunger (Kill clip, tap the trigger, accurized, smallbore & range MW) is so disgusting that I really think the gun is broken. I only use it when someone uses Mountain Top or goes full sweat in a 6v6)!
Haha. I have the same roll except for Field Prep. Ridiculous.
I have Corkscrew, Accurized rounds, Zen moment, Kill clip/Rampage, with a Stability MW.
It's absolutely 5/5 God tier and I use it with Mt. Top.
taber johnston damn you’re one of those huh.
Love that final graphic with the rolls. Another good video
Really like the way you have broken everything down in this video, including PVE roll vs. PVP roll and controller vs. MNK. One of the best "god roll" videos I've seen.
Zen moment kicks in really hard on this fun, particularly if you’re running a max range build.
You're first mistake is using austringer
That's destiny. Nothing but meta slaves too afraid to step outta their comfort zone
Yeah i feel your pain man. 6 stacks should be removed from PVP entirely. Should be teams of 3 MAX. Just back out in the future to spoil there KD farming bs.
@@couchwreckergaming4233 its a decent little thing
@shu pst they are pretty good. Its just that compared to 150s it like theres no reason for 140s to be a thing. If they had a range buff then they'd be alot more distinct than 150s. One is for med range, and the other is for long range
I like the one I have. It's a corkscrew rifling, steady rounds, tapt the trigger, kill clip with stability masterwork
I have Accurized rounds, Tap the Trigger, can swap between KC and Rampage, and a Stability MW, and a Counterbalance stock for good measure. Super consistent, shreds in both activities.
I love that I got the curated roll damn near the very beginning of the season. Overflow is so good.
I’m in love with this pvp roll (Console)
Full bore
Drop mag
Zen
Multikill
Reload mw
Instant reload, good handling, amazing stability, perfect range, and god tier damage.
13:06 Fallout defeated Crippling Depression. Thanks, I’m cured!
SGA: You can get Overflow - Rampage from T3 Reckoning (Oryx as a boss). It's Curated Roll and Overflow - Rampage exists only on this version
it will get sunsetted i think
Thanks for the thorough description
Thanks man this was really helpful as I am always kinda confused when it comes to rolls, keep roll videos coming - subscribed :)
Dude I'm not gonna fuckin lie. YOU ARE THE ONLY CONTENT CREATOR WHOM I DO NOT SKIP OVER sponsorships bits like yours today. You are funny af.
For Titans: If you run Xeno/War Rig in PvE (raids, specifically) subsistence isn't really gonna be the be-all end-all perk for you. The reload is redundant, so you're losing reserves for nothing essentially.
ninj4m4n 1. you will empty your clip, even with war rig 2. the reserves are not an issue on an ar so yeah, first world problems ^^
I've been searching for weapon guides and this is the best that i found. Subcribed!
I have one with tap the trigger, multi kill clip, and a range mw. One could say that zen moment might be better, but since I play on pc the stability isn’t really an issue. This gun is an absolute beast and I’ve already gotten around 400 pvp kills with it in about a week.
Chambered compensator, accurized rounds, zen moment, kill clip, stability masterwork, and a counter balance mod. It's an absolute laser.
Oh my god 3:44 that was so close to being such a clean transition
My first one dropped with hammer forged, flared mag, subsistence, and demolitionst. Still using it now.
Man i love this guy.. he breaks it down. Simple easy to remember and he is not far off the mark.. if at all. Keep it coming
The GH that I use for both pvp and pve has tap the trigger with a choice of kill clip and multi kill clip... I've got the reload speed maxed so when I get one kill... I essentially have an insta proc on the kill clip. It absolutely shreds.
Corkscrew (and Full Bore), Accurized Rounds, Zen Moment, Rampage, Stability Masterwork. Bring it.
"IRL primary weapon" got me feeling some type of way lol
i have a subsistence and kill clip n it’s really good because when i have kill clip activated or in general i can get a bit more kills in control due to the extra ammo in the mag from the kills
for PVE GH with subsistence and swashbuckler with anti barrier mod on a middle tree striker titan with skullfort and/or breach resonator, sustained charge, taking charge, high energy fire and stacks on stacks is beyond insane... you become the most potent ad clear monster
Subsistence/Demolitionist is a combo I don't think enough people respect. You LITERALLY never need to reload ever, and you get Grenades back so fast when on a Nezaraks Sin warlock.
I love to see these reviews on a console. Painting the Enemy isn’t easy or forgiving as it is on the PC.
got a arrowhead brake, tap the trigger, kill clip roll GH. i slapped a counterbalance on for 99 recoil direction. i'm good :) Oh, tactical mag and stability MW.
Fallout, much respect for recognizing controller folk. Every one else just calls for range, but maxing out that range means nothing if your shots are going all over the place.
Ive already found a roll I love (Hammer Forged/Accuarized Rounds/Tap The Trigger/Multi Kill Clip) but it was interesting to watch anyways!
(Controller user)
With this roll you don't even need to use counter balance. I use backup mag.
Auto loading/demolitionist actually worked great for me in a nf. Antibarrier shield guys & then swap to mt.
I love my Zen/Demo Hunger, Pair it with Breach resonator and AB rounds. If you really wanna go ham, throw in Nezarec's Sin.
Every single gnawing hunger I've gotten has been pretty good, either Zen Moment Kill Clip, or Zen Moment Rampage, etc.
I have one with small bore, accurized, range master work, tap the trigger & kill clip and it’s EXTREMELY GOOD!!
Nice blink transition
I have many god rolls, but my favorite is extended mag, zen moment, and swash, feels the most consistent, I also think kill clip is massively overrated in PVP I don’t want to reload I want to kill them both NOW lol
This is why I like drop mag with kill clip. It’s great for taking on multiple targets
GunnersM8 Yeah drop mag with Kill clip is nice, but sometimes that extra couple of milliseconds gets in the way of kills, so honestly I’ve steered away from kill clip weapons and my performance I believe has improved on all guns. Even on hunter having to use your dodge when you don’t need to other than for kill clip ends up getting me killed more, but to each their own
I've got a zen demo gnawing hunger with a handling masterwork and solid range and stability, and as an m&k voidwalker, this thing is equipped 90% of the time
I have one with multikill clip, field prep, drop mag, corkscrew, range MW. It’s so deadly for pve and pvp
Really appreciate you putting this video out. The game isn't fun until the entire other team is using this
@Fallout Plays Nice transition into the first chart. 👌
Gnawing Hunger is great and all, but I've been rocking my Y1 Forward Path during Iron Banner week since I got it, and it wrecks face. Hands-down my favorite auto in the game.
Came to watch the Fallout innuendo filled Manscaped commerical, stayed for the Gnawing hunger.
Tap the trigger does really well in 1v1 and 1v2
13:28 for the god rolls
How long I had to scroll... thank you sir
Illuminatty you’re welcome
The zen moment kill clip roll is amazing for me (controller) as a hybrid pvp and pve roll
Same....I have small bore, accurized, kill clip and zen moment with handling masterwork (controls flinch)
I think I have the same roll
On Gnawing Hunger, your base mag is 43. Appended mag gives you 5 more bullets, extended gives you 8. Worth? How often are you using those last bullets?
