    TEMPTED TO PUT A RELAXER ON YOUR TRANSITIONING HAIR? angelsringlets.blogspot.com/20...
    September 2011 marks 2 years anniversary of this transitioning teen. She is still transitioning from relaxed hair to natural hair. She has approx. 1'' of relaxed hair left that she still wears even while her hair is in curly state (it doesn't show!) This video hopes to update and inspire anyone considering to transition from relaxed to natural WITH OR WITHOUT doing the big chop. You see it CAN be done! ;op

    Gosh this was such an inspiration for me. I've been transitioning for about 7 months now and it's been really hard for me considering I'm going through this journey alone and I'm only 16. My family hates natural hair with a passion, and it's gotten so bad to the point where I am being almost forced to get a perm. No only is it so hard to deal with the two different textures, but my family always dog me and tell how ugly I'd be without it and wont let me buy products to help my hair grow and prosper. Video's like inspire me to keep going so thank you so much for sharing this inspirational video, it just keeps pushing me a lot harder to keep trying until I reach my goal.

      You’re natural hair is what you were born with, if they can’t see how beautiful you are with the hair that literally grows out of your scalp then they are the ones with the problem. You weren’t born to “contain” your hair with a relaxer. God didn’t even create relaxers, so he didn’t intend on you getting them. God made you perfect because He makes no mistakes. You’re hair is perfect being in its natural state. The people who can’t see that have just been tricked by society and brainwashed by European beauty standards. Which is sad. Just remember if no one else thinks you’re beautiful with your natural hair, God does. And that’s all that matters because no one is more important than God. ❤️❤️❤️

    OMG!! Thank you so much for sharing this video!! I've been fighting with my 16 yr about going natural for 17 mos. and this is the most encouraging video we've ever watched. Even though her hair hasn't been this healthy since she was 4 years old she still wants a relaxer because none of her friends are natural. This video has helped us so much!!

    I'm 19, and14 months post transitioning..began my transition during my senior year of school. I plan to pull through this journey for another 6-10 months. Gosh, she is so LUCKY to have a mom who helped her throughout her transition. Transitioning is a hassle sometimes, especially when you're on your own with no support.

    I'm 7 1/2 months into my transition we all need that extra inspiration to keep going because I have people say "oh girl you have a lot of new growth you need a relaxer" but I pay them no mind, I have very thick coarse hair and I have some family members who have a much softer texture say they can't do the natural thing but they will go out and buy curly weaves. I know in the end I will have the thickness I want, it will be longer and stronger. Thanks so much for keeping me motivated.....HHJ

    Omg same, I'm 14 and at school all the girls who sit with me at lunch say when are you gonna get a relaxer, your edges need to get layed (its really hard to lay my edges, but I just found a product that works!) I trimmed her hair 1 x month when she flat ironed. I deep conditioned her hair every 2 weeks. Trims definitely help transitioning hair when the relaxed ends get tangled. The blunt ends don't wrap around each other as easily. Thanks for the message Love!

    I am truly inspired by your video, The reason I say this is because I put a texturizer in my nine-year old daughters hair six months ago (big mistake) and now I want her hair to go back to its natural state, I can't wait till the texturizer is completely gone from her hair. I don't want to do any big chop in her hair what so ever, so seeing that they're was no big chop done on your daughters hair I am happy about that. I want her hair to achieve waist length. Great job on her hair!!!

  • @007newnew
    @007newnew  11 років тому

    When she had more relaxed hair than unprocessed, she often wore her hair in a bun styling. That's a great solution (but don't pull too tight), since she was able to tuck away the dead straight ends, while laying down her roots (new growth). Breakage was managed by trimming as needed, and keeping the correct moisture/protein balance. Your gel and ponytail are 1 option. Try playing with perm rod rollers on the relaxed ends. They help to match it up w/ the roots. Don't forget to Deep Condition

    I'm using a friend's handle because I lost my password. But I began my journey also a year ago while I was pregnant. My baby is 8 months old now. I have it weaved up in a full weave. I did the big chop while pregnant and weaved it in, now it is past my shoulders. I plan on keeping a full weave for one more year due to the changes in hormones after a baby, just to ensure there will be no more breakage. I refuse to give in to a relaxer EVER again in my life. I was even more so inspired by an RN I saw at the hospital during labor who had an afro/natural down to the center of her back, and that definitely lead me to believe that I am doing the right thing by going completely natural. Your daughter is beautiful, so are you and hair is gorgeous and how God intended it to be!

    Thanks for the message Love! We used bad stuff at first, but learned better. The most important products to have in your stash: a good deep conditioner, a good leave in/oil combo (the kimmaytube leave in mixture was really good for our transitioning hair), and a good shampoo (use it sparingly and diluted).

It's important to be true to your style during the transition. If you like straight hair, then wear straight hair (safely). Find a styling/care routine that you like and stick with it. Keep in touch!

    Sounds like a good plan. Heat definitely poses a risk! I used to cornrow my hair and wear a few wigs when I was transitioning. Outside of that I used to roller set, perm rod rollers for long term styling (7-8 days).

    Lovely hair and a great transformation. How often did you trim and condition?

    I am glad I saw this. I have been debating on whether or not to start transition on my daughter's hair. It should be much easier since she is only 8. She has only had two Just For Me relaxers ever and the last one was about 4 or 5 months ago, so I think it will be fine. I appreciate you sharing this journey.

    Nice video, I was happy to see someone else also begin their journey in 2009 like I have....What are your techniques for flatironing properly?... because I have been thinking about flatironing mine more often and would like to take precaution while doing so because i have experienced extreme heat damage before

    I really want to go natural, but my mom doesn't think it's the best idea. So this video was the boost I needed. Instead of waiting till I go off to college, why not start now! :)
