    it is nice to see a youtuber with my curl pattern and longer hair. Not dissing those with short hair, it's not something I have and curl defining results look different on longer coil than shorter. You inspired me to wear a braided/twisted mohawk under my hair. I want my hair the non big hair look sometimes.

    Thanks for checking it out markquisha! Yeah, it took me a minute to figure out what was going on (why one day the wash n go was poppin, and the next time it was "flopping" LOL). Yeah, you're right, it's good to see what everyone's doing and then apply the best technique/method to your own hair. We appreciate you! Thanks again, --tia

    Thanks Doll :o) I used about 4 ounces of water with 2 tablespoons of ACV. I think I had layers of shea butter on my hair from a previous wash n go when I used shea butter to define curls. You don't want to use ACV on a weekly basis. I use it occasionally as needed. It is strong, but at the rate I diluted it, I don't see it causing any harm. It takes off plastics and other chemicals off of your hair. Some hair products leave plastics on the strands (certain cones).

    Yup, MrsSarahWalz is right. I think I missed out on some cute shorter length wash n go days b/c I transitioned for 15 months. Girl, have fun with your hair! But about that shoulder length question, on average, hair grows 1/2'' month (but every head of hair is different). Just track your length retention to make sure you're ends are not breaking. Congratulations on your 6 months Miss Queen! Have Fun.

    Omg youre the only person I could find with a texture extremely close to mine. I've been growing my hair n my wash n goes have the same skinny curls. I love my texture bt at the length mine is at n my color damage gives me more bad curl days than good. I'm definitely going to try to follow some of these steps web I wash n go

    I love the Goody Finish Gel Cushion Paddle Brush (Not the one seen in this video). It's part of their "Finish" Collection. It has like a neon green handle and brush head. I buy mine from Target. It's online too.

    I am in love with Giovanni 50/50. But I do use tresemme naturals (by itself, I don't remember using it under the eco styler). I'm sure it's fine under it--lots of people use it. I get the white residue, but they dry. You could blot the extra conditioner off b4 putting the gel, and that will help some. But it always dries clear.

    This is 3 years of natural hair growth. It took about 18 months to grow my natural hair to the length that my relaxed hair was (when it kept breaking).

    Thanks Doll :o) I used about 4 ounces of water with 2 tablespoons of ACV. I think I had layers of shea butter on my hair from a previous wash n go when I used shea butter to define curls. So I ended up breaking out the shampoo to see if I couldn't get that layer of butter(s) off. I will be tweaking my portions of ACV rinse to see what works for me. But generally, you want to us a small amount of ACV b/c it's pretty strong.

  • @007newnew
    @007newnew  11 років тому

    Hello freetodance, yes my hair is naturally curly. I had to grow out the relaxer (stop relaxing), and cut off all of my relaxed hair before I could do a coily wash n go. I've seen people with relaxed hair (maybe texlaxed) that are able to get a wavy texture after washing and air drying their hair. BUT, if your hair is relaxed bone straight, you may NOT be able to get the waves that way. You can play around with braidouts--search braidouts on relaxed hair.

  • @007newnew
    @007newnew  11 років тому

    Yup. Tighter when my hair was shorter, looser as it gets longer and heavier. Yup. I love ACV as a replacement for a sulfate shampoo. It works for me because I too have removed silicones and other synthetics from my hair products. Sounds like a plan.

    I just checked out your blog for the first time :) And I love it!!!! Your right about when your curls aren't acting how they should and having to clarify it!! I even get white residue when my hair is not properly clean...I'm following the Cg method and finding out you really can't follow everyone's hair routine you really gotta find your own!! Btw I've followed your blog and I've been following you for about a year now and I really like your vids :)

    LOL Alright naturallatebloomer! I put it in the description box, but pressed for time in the actual video. 1 scene (with the gray shirt) was when I washed my hair with shampoo b/c of buildup. The other scene with the black shirt & pink shirt was a different day when I co-washed my hair. Trying to relay: cleansing with shampoo vs conditioner. It did switch back & forth without too much notification LOL! But the sequence is in order 4 how I do my wng's. Cleanse/Detangle/Define/Airdry/Stretch

    Yeah send the pic or do a video response (either way)! I was thinking the same thing (shake the head to clump the coils). It may not lay down with THAT method, but it will look really cute! The curls--they grow up, out, and then down LOL. It's all good.

    Great plan for moisture.Do you get a coil? Or do you have to create one? You mention your hair is cottony. If u get a coil: I would detangle in the shower, and stop using a tool once I got out the shower to define (only fingers). Make approx 10 sections. pin them into bantu's while work 1 section (so it doesn't dry out). Work in section size you can easily manage--go through with fingers and styler. Also, my hair wouldn't lay down when it was short. Now it's too long to puff up. Length important

    You wash your hair with whatever it needs at the time. If you have buildup on your hair (like cones, and such), then you will need a shampoo with sodium lauryl sulfate..or you can use the apple cider vinegar. If you don't have buildup, but just want to wash--you can do a co-wash. I ended up using shampoo b/c the ACV didn't seem to be helping to get stuff off of my strands. You gotta look at you curls & see if they look limp or their usual way. HTH Thx 4 msg :o)

    I have some flax seed in my fridge and keep being too lazy to boil it up LOL! I want to try it, though. I do use the clay usually (Amla?), but b/c I had the cornbraids, I didnt want to put something so grainy that could get caught up in it. I'm going to try the flax seed soon. I always wonder if it will weight down my hair how I like it. Thanks for the message Love!

    Listen to your hair. Before I decide what I'm gonna do with my hair, I wet it in the shower, then get out (yeah, I make a mess--just get a towel and dry it up LOL)--and I look in the mirror to see how my coils look. It they look dull, limp, lifeless, and not making the coil that I know they make--then I clarify. If they are looking great, then I will co-wash or simply rinse with water (depends on what's on my hair "sweat, butters, etc") Check out the post (link in box above)

    You do know you can do wash n go at anytime right ? You should check out ellepixie's old videos here on YT that's all she really does are wash n go's..she started out with super short hair and now her hair is very long. All I've ever done are wash n gos as well and never had to wait for a grow out period. Also check out MahoganyCurls and her earlier videos when she had short hair..she's always done wash n gos. I can send u a pic of wet hair out shower & see what u think will work best. I have a short video response. Mostly my hair does have a coil. Last night I prepoo, co-wash no cleanser only conditioner, no tools, then used my fingers to add my heavy conditioner, like you did in this vid & small amount curl junkie curls in a bottle & smoothed all products into hair & did not rake at all, then shook my head to clump the coils since I have a TWA, dont like gel hair is tightly curled, this 1 is good.

  • @Fit2LivebyVets
    @Fit2LivebyVets 11 років тому

    The best WnG videos I've seen. My concern: TWA @ 7 mos post BC, my hair is around the same texture as yours low porosity, medium density, thick and cottony. I've been wetting everyday for 3 wks going on 4 & will continue until it has reached max. hydration; tightly curled. Any suggestions on a technique. I have tried raking, 2 short 2 shingle, used denman, etc. I don't know if lay it down techn. in ur previous video will help and I'm not using any gels since my hair is already curly.Thx
