Thanks for watching! Should I make a proper tutorial at some point? Seems like there's already enough build guides out there. Small edit: CHA_FAN stands for chassis fan, not channel fan. Pardon my brain. Got my wires crossed after spending too much time with fan controllers.
I would appreciate a build guide, and I'm sure I'm not the only one! It's been ages since your last one and I feel like it would be really interesting and certainly relevant given how things change over time. Some things still hold true--we're still using cases and motherboards etc. but there are always new developments on macro and micro scales. like nvme drives vs traditional ssds or RGB EVERYTHING! or even just like small tricks people might not think about, like ideal cable management routing or otherwise. like your I/O direction tip, or any QOL you feel people ought to have
Hey dude! I started watching you way back in 2015 and have been dreaming of building my own pc ever since. Last year November I finally built my pc and I'm super happy. You were one of the mentors for the all pc hardware knowledge I have today. Keep up the good work buddy❤
It's like listening to my dad explaining how to do the homework. Super wholesome and very informative! I'll definitely rewatch it in a week when all the parts for my build will get delivered to me. Thank you for the effort of shooting a first person POV, you rock!
Excellent video for new builders! I liked all the close-ups of connectors with their names/labels. I think this is a great video and will help many people! And it made me want an O11 Evo case 🤣🤣
29:52 CHA_FAN2 means Chassis Fan 2... Not Channel. Its called Chassis fan because Fans either mount on the CPU a.k.a. CPU_FAN... OR to the Computer Chassis a.k.a the computer case. So to reiterate. CHA means Chassis; not channel.
love this refresher video. even though building and doing warranty pc repairs is my day job, i can verify that this is a great video for beginners. A lot of good advice for new builders.
I just got one of these cases with customized artwork, and man do I love it. Fits just about everything. And those Lian Li fans are so amazing. I love them.
I’ve been waiting for a remake of the original video for years! I build 3 pcs based on the original video.I’ve learned so much about computers thanks to you Kyle!
"I have 3 PCs that I bounce between", did that flex hurt hehe just kidding! Your long hair is looking like Elvis there brother haha! I still to this day use that really old PC video you did so I'm glad you've got a new one haha
Also, I'd much rather watch you build a PC than Robeytech. You're straight forward and give accurate instructions. This would be really helpful for someone building a PC for the first time.
Fair guide! Only thing I'd recommend changing is you should always use all EPS cables and use seperate cables/ports for GPU, especially new powerhungry cards. Also its chassi, not channel. Finally do a test boot/post before mountin everything in the case
CPU Power Cable installed outside the Case is a very good Advice (if you have a modular PSU). In my first Build around 4 Years ago in a Fractal Meshify C that was a PITB. The large Air Cooler was in the Way and i sacrified a lot of Blood to the PC Gods.
18:50 Umm, I don’t want to be ‘that guy’, but I think you’ll find that you have yourself a Lian Li EVO RGB there my man… not the XL. Just bought this case myself, great build quality… can’t wait to build in it. Love your work 👌
As a general rule of thumb, manufacturers usually will place the barcode sticker on the memory. Dat sticker have to face cpu. Dat way u know which side will sit in the notch
I've built four computers and would have loved to have this tutorial when I first started. What would be helpful is if you were to do a video on what is next... loading the OS software and getting the computer stable for operation and daily driving.
not going for the am5 yet, using am4 since 2600x, the undervolting is kinda neccessary or how you spell it for cooling down the am5 cpu, I had to do that for my late 5800x too since it killed a 240 aio cooler before I switched it out with an amazing Thermalright Asssassin 120!using 5700x now and getting a 5950x for my birthday in january!
You actually had the drives installed correctly before you moved the first MP700 you installed next to the other one as on that board the gen 5 m.2 slots are the top one and the left one of the ones next to each other, so now one of your gen 5 drives is in a gen 4 slot. I looked at the diagram in the user manual to make sure I was recalling it correctly.
Build looks great, would love to know what Ian is using 9TB of storage for 👀. Also, would love a similar video of optimizing the system, setting up bios (PBO, negative offsets, RAM timings, etc), also fan curves, GPU undervolt/OC, monitoring software, and stability testing. I think it’d be really interesting to see this whole process!
Been a long time since I have heard someone refer to the placement of an AMD CPU correctly with Zero Insertion Force. I see others pressing down, or wiggling them, which totally goes against Zero Insertion Force. Nice
video idea.. deep dive into your cameras and equipment.. lens.. storage.. lighting.. a total behind the scenes.. catch lyle in toilet with pants down lol
Excellent work giving a step by step on how to build a pc. I have question the RGB fans you have at the front and the one single fan you have at the back are they set for exhaust?
PRAISE BE TO LIANLI FOR MAKING THOSE FRONT PANEL CONNECTORS ALL IN ONE! I have been screaming for YEARS that case manufacturers need to stop with all those terrible little single connectors. Hey! EVERY OTHER CASE MANUFACTURER! DO THIS TOO!
just speculating but as per your video when you build a pc you just use all default bios settings? or is that something you didn't want to include in the video?
The first part with the CPU socket was pretty stressful to me. You should probably tell your viewers to be careful when doing anything around the exposed socket. Holding the CPU well is important, not so much to keep the contacts clean, but to avoid dropping it sideways on the pins and making your expensive board an expensive brick. It's also important to hold the retention lever carefully, if you let go and it springs freely, sometimes it can cause the CPU in the socket to jump and fall back damaging pins. All of this, unfortunately, is wisdom from experience, despite the fact that I've been building PCs since the 90s. Btw, you may need to update your thumbnails 😉
How long did this take? You had a hair cut half way through. Or did you just decide it was getting in the way, or maybe your cats decided for you? Great vid btw 👍
Please, Please, Please, Please bring back Awesome Hardware!! Or you and Paul can tag team Super Special like a duet and just have a section where yall discuss hardware and games and such. 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thanks for watching! Should I make a proper tutorial at some point? Seems like there's already enough build guides out there.
Small edit: CHA_FAN stands for chassis fan, not channel fan. Pardon my brain. Got my wires crossed after spending too much time with fan controllers.
LMAO!! This video is 100x more informative than most "how to" videos on youtube.
Here’s another edit for ya: the case is actually the O11 Evo RGB not the XL
You're not The Verge; this is fine.
Just to let you know that it was because of your video 7y ago that today i'm watching this one in my pc put toghether by myself with your company!
I would appreciate a build guide, and I'm sure I'm not the only one! Hey man! I haven’t seen you in a while and I’ve been watching you for four years now. Super glad you’re still making content! Thanks a lot ❤
Now we just need Lyle ripping this build video apart for old times' sake.
I still regret being late to the Lyle party. lmao
Hey dude! I started watching you way back in 2015 and have been dreaming of building my own pc ever since. Last year November I finally built my pc and I'm super happy. You were one of the mentors for the all pc hardware knowledge I have today. Keep up the good work buddy❤
What are your specs?

Tnx for the tutorial, I'm sure your friend will love his new PC.
Love to see you back! Nice video with information of why and how stuff works! hope u put out some more of tech videos!
Been watching since the newegg days. I still remember That new years eve stream you guys did
The protective cover comes out on it's own after you close it with the cpu installed. Save a step :)
Awesome as always Kyle!
Even though I've been building computers for over 22 years, I enjoyed watching this video. Nice to see you, Kyle.
As always, great video Kyle, you’re appreciated brother. All the best from Manchester, England.
I watched this video while I'm waiting for the rest of my parts to arrive this week but I'm very excited to do my first full build in 10 years.
CHA for fans stands for Chassis, I believe.
Or it means they can do the cha cha slide :D
love this refresher video. even though building and doing warranty pc repairs is my day job, i can verify that this is a great video for beginners. A lot of good advice for new builders.
i know how to build a pc but this was pretty fun to watch. you did such an amazing job explaining every part of the build!!! great work on the video!
Time to let the cat pick you a haircut again! Great video though, thank you. Very informative.
I just got one of these cases with customized artwork, and man do I love it. Fits just about everything. And those Lian Li fans are so amazing. I love them.
Great walkthrough for the new generation.
Building a pc is really a good thing. Never get bored of it and the steps guide is even better.
I’ve been waiting for a remake of the original video for years! I build 3 pcs based on the original video.I’ve learned so much about computers thanks to you Kyle!
This was long overdue. Thank you Kyle!
"I have 3 PCs that I bounce between", did that flex hurt hehe just kidding! Your long hair is looking like Elvis there brother haha! I still to this day use that really old PC video you did so I'm glad you've got a new one haha
love that hair cut halfway through ... lookin sharp!
Love the fact you got a haircut somewhere in the making of this video.
this is going to be THE go to build video for like the next 6 years on youtube.
Also, I'd much rather watch you build a PC than Robeytech. You're straight forward and give accurate instructions. This would be really helpful for someone building a PC for the first time.
Hey Kyle, it’s me, your friend 🤗
Been watching for like 8 years now and miss all his videos
I know how to build a PC but you never know what else you can learn you know, I love seeing pc builds as I am working on something
I'm happy to see Kyle back.
I loved building my Lian Li 0 11 12900k build. So much space and good airflow.
I miss this building vids, this one just brings the world to a perfect balance...
Fair guide! Only thing I'd recommend changing is you should always use all EPS cables and use seperate cables/ports for GPU, especially new powerhungry cards. Also its chassi, not channel. Finally do a test boot/post before mountin everything in the case
I had always assumed Cha_FanX was short for Chasis Fan
I would assume you're part of the majority and Bitwit is wrong saying it's "channel" 😅
CPU Power Cable installed outside the Case is a very good Advice (if you have a modular PSU). In my first Build around 4 Years ago in a Fractal Meshify C that was a PITB. The large Air Cooler was in the Way and i sacrified a lot of Blood to the PC Gods.

"The build is done, the video is done..." ... and your new hair cut is done during this video!
Not the sketchy key site sponsorships
Dude - Great stuff! one thing you forgot to add was how to get the wire from the pump behind the mobo, I actually wanted to see that.
Literally helped me build my first PC bro you are the go to.
These cases are literally the best thing for airflow
As a general rule of thumb, manufacturers usually will place the barcode sticker on the memory. Dat sticker have to face cpu. Dat way u know which side will sit in the notch
Hi kyle! Hope you are doing great 😊
first thing I noticed is the Camera stand. So... no more one handed builds? XD
I've built four computers and would have loved to have this tutorial when I first started. What would be helpful is if you were to do a video on what is next... loading the OS software and getting the computer stable for operation and daily driving.

I think universally using your own thermal paste rather than the pre applied because it simples isn’t enough or drys to much to fast.
Solid run through, but for the love of God, make sure it boots and posts before doing your cable managment, in case anything needs to be swapped out!
29:58 Ain't the "CHA" suppose to be a short word for CHASSIS but not CHANNEL, i'm confused here 🤔
You actually had the drives installed correctly before you moved the first MP700 you installed next to the other one as on that board the gen 5 m.2 slots are the top one and the left one of the ones next to each other, so now one of your gen 5 drives is in a gen 4 slot. I looked at the diagram in the user manual to make sure I was recalling it correctly.
I'm about to build my PC soon and the hardest thing for me to learn is the case cable part, fans, fan cables and PSU cables lol.
Does the cpu socket cover not pop off when you put the cpu in like intel?
Bro, you've become bigger!
gonna sound bot as hell but just used the cdkey link and it was quick, easy, and crazy affordable lol huge thanks!
Build looks great, would love to know what Ian is using 9TB of storage for 👀. Nice build video.
Dont remember seeing anyone point out the notches on the CPU before. Nice
But licking the pins is still ok right?
Totally (doing this u agree that if u damage anything i am not liable) lmao
Been a long time since I have heard someone refer to the placement of an AMD CPU correctly with Zero Insertion Force. I see others pressing down, or wiggling them, which totally goes against Zero Insertion Force. Nice
2:20 no need to pop the cover by yourself. It’ll pop out on its own.
Installing the cooler right away, why? I personally think it's so cumbersome to work on the motherboard with the cooler/radiator flopping about.
where the gpu support bracket at??
it's been a while man ..
Whats the total cost for all these parts? Can you break it down in the description. Thank you for the detailed install
Been switching between this case and the NV7 for my next build this vid may of convince me to get the Lian Li
Hi Kyle! Nice video. The CHA_ denotes a CHASSIS fan... not a channel fan. Common problem.
Good to see your videos again. Are you still in contact with Paul? You two were so good together on your videos. How's the eye??
the galaxy quest reference, I know I said it before buy damnit I love that reference in a sponsor spot lol
Bro thought he'd get a haircut and we wouldn't notice 😂 great video tho, keep up the good work 💪
air cooled build tutorial with Lyle ! !
video idea.. deep dive into your cameras and equipment.. lens.. storage.. lighting.. a total behind the scenes.. catch lyle in toilet with pants down lol
I would love a Kyle build PC.. I run a 1950x TR and a GTX 1080. I try to play 1440p games and it is starting to fail me.
I always thought CHA stood for chassis.
Excellent work giving a step by step on how to build a pc. I have question the RGB fans you have at the front and the one single fan you have at the back are they set for exhaust?
Bitwit I appreciate you
I did a double take. I also have a Lucas the Spider on my computer case... to deter my cat to sit on my case.
Is there a parts list?
I do the AIO last now because that just gets in the way of everything.
do you have any experience with purchasing office keys from that site?
PRAISE BE TO LIANLI FOR MAKING THOSE FRONT PANEL CONNECTORS ALL IN ONE! I have been screaming for YEARS that case manufacturers need to stop with all those terrible little single connectors. Hey! EVERY OTHER CASE MANUFACTURER! DO THIS TOO!

Btw, you may need to update your thumbnails 😉
Hey Kyle, do you think getting a contact frame for Am5 is worth it or makes a difference in temps?
What in the 1999 io is on that AM5 motherboard 😅
Have you had any problems with the lcd screen working on that AIO?
Nice wardrobe change and haircut midway. 🤣🤣🤣
Nice. No Verge references, though ?
How long did this take? You had a hair cut half way through. Or did you just decide it was getting in the way, or maybe your cats decided for you?
Great vid btw 👍
Just to let you know, I’m still subbed to you. ❤ we miss you
I/O Shield ? 🤷♂
Hey mate.
Please, Please, Please, Please bring back Awesome Hardware!! Or you and Paul can tag team Super Special like a duet and just have a section where yall discuss hardware and games and such. 🙏🏻🙏🏻
could of sworn in the 90 cha_fan stood for chassis fan meaning case fan????? Not Channel Fan
Only 6 usb ports is insane on that board
I had to admit that you were almost on The Verge of...if you know what I mean? LOL
wasn't he taking a break?
bro had a haircut half way through the video 🤣
