I know the pew pew is pretty but if you stand it up instead or just don't have that in front of your face all day you'd have alot more room... Like a safe or idk a safe
If you put a plant on top of your PC, you need to make it a semipermanent fixture. Double sided tape? Screw the plants down somehow? If not I'd assume the cats will just knock it off to reclaim their proper throne.
Also depriving them cats from their rightful place, you ust show them that you dont want them near you, which they deem to you not liking them and also they like that place, because its warm. Thats why cats lay in the sunlight from windows or doors and move with it and why they also sat on those old chunky CRT Monitors, as one shouldnt forget that cats were desert creatures as they became our companions and rodent control. Not to mention: Cats dont have owners, they have personnel, so cut the crap human.
I mentioned in a post that the USB hub is one to keep an eye on. I have the RHS-A107D and he has the A103C I think it was. My version can get very damn hot at times. Thinking of replacing it with an Anker I have rather than be checking temperature. I was originally going to be stupid and stick a smart temperature sensor right next to it and monitor it via HomeKit. Maybe not. 😆
My favorite addition is a pair of power strip desk clamps, they clamp onto the back of the desk and have pegs that fit the back mounting holes of any power strip. It places power outlets in a easy to reach position.
I've tried many multi-display setups, and I've learned that my primary monitor must be directly in front of me. My office arrangement is a 32" 4K monitor front and center flanked by two 22" 1080p monitors in portrait mode. All are 60-75 Hz VA panels.
I love mounting stuff on the underside of my desk. Makes it SO much easier. I love the velcro strips too. I use velcro strips on my desk, walls, etc. Good job!
I had no idea Focal was making cans. I love their speakers... I guess I'll have to check out their head phones too. Also... been fooled if you think the cats won't just knock any shit you put on the computer off. It's one of the many cat commandments.
I got a very similar light on top of the monitor with the same adjustment knob, total game changer, I can actually see my desk now, I'm no longer staring into the void!
I hadn't seen that solution before, but I use the iCue Ambient LED strips on the backside of my monitor (with a white wall behind) that spills a lot of light onto the desk. And you're absolutely right; it makes a big difference. The eye relief is a game changer, whether it's set to ambient (which projects colours that map to what's on the monitor) or matching my PC's LED colour scheme. Highly recommended.
Horrible product for so many reasons. Dudes got a ton of RGB installed all over the desk already. Ring lights. If you want something like this, install behind the monitor and/or below the monitor. Literally the worst place for a light is shining down directly onto your monitor. 🤦♂️
@@scooter73-i2 It’s not so much about seeing things - you don’t want to be looking at a very bright screen with complete darkness filling the rest of your field of view. It strains the eyes and gets pretty uncomfortable. Having some gentle light around and behind the screen makes a big difference to eye strain.
So after seeing your other video months ago I actually got an L-Shaped standing desk and found pegboards on amazon and put one on each side of the desk. The peg boards came with dual monitor mounts and I am able to use one side for work, one side for gaming. To fit them had to get a 65x72 desk, but it was absolutely worth it. Pegboards were the EUREKA ERGONOMIC Desk Pegboard with Dual Monitor Stand and the desk I have is by a brand named Vivo. Thank you so much for the inspiration! It just adds that next level of decoration and functionality that is just awesome
Pro tip from someone who works from home with 2 PCs, instead of just a usb extender for the fingerprint reader, you could totally just use a usb hub there and get the usb ports at the front like you wanted.
I feel like you'll eventually want to print a little mount for that amp cause those 3M adhesive strips seem to like giving out over time to heavier metal objects.
Edifier is a bizarre brand. They seemed to come out of nowhere, make cheap products that sound far too good for their price. I got one of their sets that all look the same with very slight feature set differences a while back and very happy even as a 2.0 setup.
Stick the upcoming usb hub below the monitor, a little set back too if needed instead of below the desk. It’ll be low enough to not be visible at all times, but very convenient to access when needed. A slim hub would work best here than a chonky one
I really liked this content. It helped me get some ideas for my own space. Would love to see some updates every so often, to see how the items hold up, and such. Good show.
One thing that I did for my desk is move away from a cloth-like mousepad to glass. It's expensive but easier to keep clean. I got the white Pulsar - Superglide Premium Glass Mouse Pad XXL from Amazon, 38.5" x 16.5" x 0.16". I definitely had to adjust how I play FPS games and wear a sleeve for CoD but with other games, like Diablo, I don't use a sleeve.
I have 2 pair of the Edifier speakers and loved them so much I got my Mom and my Daughter a pair for their PC. For the money you can not go wrong, also it's nice to either to be able to use or not use Headphones
I was a bit sceptic about lightbars until i bought one for myself. It is great in the way that i no longer need to have my ceeling lamp on if i want to see my desk. And cable management of it was super simple since i just pluged it into the monitor it sits on.
i have one from OOWolf or how they are called on my 27" S2721DGFA and from the point it got up there, connected directly to one of the hubports of that monitor, its the very next thing i turn on, when the monitor gets turned on. Controls are touchy on the sides and they work well and the thing i found, that the light has some slight contrast improving effect on the monitor added to lighting the place withoud blinding you. And having it connected to the hub, its get off when the monitor gets shut off, but keeps active in standby. I wont miss that anymore, that much is clear.
Internal mount OR desk mounted stats display for the PC. Pixel ART panel with YT sub count. Controller is where? AR/VR headset? One empty USB-A/10Gb extension mounted near the edge of the desk for quick access. A combination HDMI & power outlet panel under-mounted to the desk so you can drop a laptop/ ITX PC on your desk and quickly connect it to your unused HDMI port on your side monitor Spare wireless media keyboard stashed somewhere
Maybe zip tie some fake vines on the pegboard...fill it out. Lots of green to balance the black of the objects on the pegboard. Just a thought :) Overall, super clean though!
I couldve sworn you had the Secret Labs desks? What happened to those? I love that you used normal products rather than special high end stuff sponsors send out. I always love your vids, need more Lyle!
Whats crazy......I literally have all the products you just got. Like every single thing you just added even the speakers only mine arent bluetooth. I just got it all this past weekend. Its all very very helpful
Instead of getting another USB hub to mount at the front of your desk, you should just get some more USB extensions. Stick the female end under the front of the desk, and wire them in to the ports you're not using on the hub you already have underneath.
You should test the charger on top of the desk and compare it to the "through the desk" charging performance. If you find that the direct charge if much quicker and better, you might consider flipping the desk upside down, routing out about 3/4 of the thickness, and then mounting the charger in that recess. You may find this to dramatically improve the through desk performance and still have your clean look on top.
With these wireless chargers, the closer you can get them to the phone, the better. Though I'd also add that they generate a heat, so having a very small air gap would be advisable. Imagine you stick your phone on one of these one day and it just levitates like those spinning globes.
Kyle... Bitwit .... Your videos are so entertaining and informative or the years and I Love your charity..... You are a really good person with great vibes!
In terms of plants, I recommend Lego. Seriously - I have the bonsai tree on my desk under the monitor and love it. We also have the bird of paradise, orchids, bouquet, wildflower, and succulent sets around the house. You can't kill a plant if it's made of Lego!
Thanks Kyle now I'm buying more stuff lol Actually the vacuum I was looking for one so that was a nice addition. Already added to my cart now looking at the other stuff Also the over the top light I need a new one mine broke about a month back and I so miss it.
Those Edifier speakers have a dedicated subwoofer line out - I'd definitely consider adding one. You've only got the one PC, otherwise I'd suggest adding a USB switch. You might add a nice clock too, I know there's one on the computer, but sometimes it's nice to just glance over and see the time
Yeah but you have to be careful with that model, as there are different versions, you need to have the DBs, which are the ones with Bluetooth and the s stands for the subport. What i found kinda funny was as he said they sound neutral...yeah no they dont, those are bookshelf multimedia speakers, but no studio monitors and they have a certain amount of colored sound and certain weaknesses in the crossover and co to them. They sound nice, for their size and money, but they are surely not good for making music or so. And before someone asks, i've got a pair of Presonus Eris Studio 5's sitting here, connected via balanced XLR provided by a Klark Teknik Pro DI AV 2 DI 22P which is connected to my AE-7, running in direct mode with 32Bit 384KHz.
Put a nice vine plant on top of your CPU Tower and then cry when you overwater as the excess water drains down on your PC. Oh one more benefit to having the vining plants (like a spider plant) is that younger cats will spastically play with them. It's always great fun cleaning up a broken pot or pile of soil and roots after your cat has had a bit of fun. I'm suggesting these couple of tips so that others can share in the fun I have had in the past with my cats. 😹😈😹😈😹
i never understood that monitor layout. two monitors that are off center when sitting in the middle of your desk. i feel like constantly turning my neck to one side to view my main monitor would kill my neck. sick setup regardless tho
Careful with those powered usb hubs, i've read many reviews that said these things relay power into your pc system/plugged in drives, which can mess things up big time. I have yet to find one that seems secure in the long run
Good choice on speakers. Edifier makes some of the best desktop speakers on the market. Other things you might have missed, a Sennheiser GSX1000 to chain into that Fiio dac amp for virtual 7.1 gaming and general content consumption. It really is that good. Headphone wise, might sound crazy, but get a companion set, namely the cheap pair of Koss Porta or Sporta Pros, or the 30KPH/40KPH. You can slap some Yaxi pads on them. They are tuned extremely well and are super comfortable. I end up using these more than my high end headphones.
That looks like an AAC honey badger tbh. It’s got the collapsible stock and short barrel with ridiculous supp on the front, and it might actually be one. Idk all I know is if that’s real or airsoft, Kyle has some pretty good taste 👌
Well that is kinda funny. No idea why this video appeared in my queue but hey I was interested because I'm always looking to improve the ergonomics and usefullness of my desk environment. Amazingly the only thing I don't have that you have - though not the *same* versions - is the booty screen. No. Just no. 😂 The velcro command strips are fantastic. Definitely get a workout on my desk. I actually build a small shelf beneath my desk in the rear corner where I put my external HDD that were plugged in semi-permanently but removed them from there recently and stuck my USB charged hand vacuum/blower too. I even have a version of the same USB hub you've got - though it gets hot so beware. Yours was an RHS-A107C I think and mine is the RHS-A107D. You can get the over monitor light strips either as a two-strip unit as well if you wanted. I've got one that has that and articulates in the middle to allow it to cover my dual monitor setup. Though it doesn't have the little puck style controller. That said I'm thinking of getting rid of it because I'm fully in on smarthome stuff and need one I can control with that, either natively (not very likely) or via a smartplug. For smartplug control you need something that maintains its state on a powercut and mine doesn't. Anyhoo, just thought it was bizarre this vid popped up for me and you followed a journey I've been on but you did it all in one go and I did it over about 4-6 months a while back. Oh and your last comment about USB hub under desk brought to the front? Yes, you will love that. Find a way.
They are surely nice, especially for that kind of money, but you have to admit that they are not exactly sounding "neutral" as he claimed them to be and that they have some weaknesses. They are Bookshelf Multimedia Speakers afterall and no Studio Monitors, like my pair of Presonus Eris Studio 5's.
Why dont you get a 32:9 Monitor? It would annoy me so much that if I would look straight forward, that I would just look at the bazzels of the monitors, and to not really have a "Main" monitor
Something I've always struggled with about putting desktops on a desk. How on earth do you hide all of the wires? Just on my desktop, I have eight cables. Two for the monitor, one main power, two for speakers, one ethernet, and two USB (one keyboard and one mouse) peripherals. I am using one more usb for my headset (but it is a dongle, so wireless). I finally got all of the RGB I wanted on my main rig, as well as nice looking sleeved cables, so I'd like to show it off, but I can't figure out a way to hide the massive bundle of cables that need to exit the PC and head in the direction of other items on the desk. Advice? I'm all ears.
yeah i have one from OOWolf or how they are called and i dont want to miss it, directly connected to the monitors hub, improves not only the lighting, but gives the monitor (S2721DGFA) a slight contrast edge imho.
Saw you had a Stream Deck+ Don't know if you knew or not but they just released a USB hub attachment for the back of it that also has a built in SD and Micro SD card reader. Might be a good way to help minimize the amount of things you need to plug in~
Get a under couch subwoofer. They are also wall mountable and cpuld be mounted on the wall under the desk. I have a 2.1 setup. 70 watt bookshelf speakers with a 50 watt amp then an under couch sub with its own built in amp. The setup sounda super clean.
I added a Sabrent powered 4-port USB hub to the back of my monitor running it through one of the monitor’s ports. The hub’s ports are on the edges, not a face so I lined it up with the edge of the monitor. Anything plugged in sits proud so you don’t forget it’s there and you can use it for a wireless receiver dongle (like the one for wireless headset which are a longer term install) without the monitor blocking the connection to move your fingerprint reader giving you the extension you are using back. EDIT: The hub has buttons that disable individual ports too which is handy, with LED light rings to indicate a port is being utilized.
@@Collin_J feel free. Yeah, the older monitors also don’t have KVM functionality either, so their ports don’t really work for your KB/mouse either. Monitor USB ports are inconvenient as heck most times.
Not sure if I'd buy Edifier speakers after their price hikes. Have the s350db set and it's almost twice as expensive 2 years later. I'd go with a set of Kali Audio studio monitors instead. Wayyyyyyy better midrange than the s350db. Really like the under desk mounting of the power switch and others.
Man. I love my wife and kids more than anything, but i sure do miss my younger years of being single and just decking out my gaming area. Maybe when i retire and a empty nester i can go back.

The booty panel return was unexpected but appreciated.
Oh my gosh Kyle complaining about having to roll over to his PC to turn it on is both hilarious and relatable
Not relatable at all, but it is hilariously sad.

Find a way.
I have the same speakers, love'em
They are surely nice, especially for that kind of money, but you have to admit that they are not exactly sounding "neutral" as he claimed them to be and that they have some weaknesses.
They are Bookshelf Multimedia Speakers afterall and no Studio Monitors, like my pair of Presonus Eris Studio 5's.
Bro casually has $3,000 headphones "collecting dust."
Why dont you get a 32:9 Monitor? It would annoy me so much that if I would look straight forward, that I would just look at the bazzels of the monitors, and to not really have a "Main" monitor
It would annoy me to look at anything but a 4k oled. Which don’t come in ultra wide lol
Nice desk. Have you consider getting a 3D Printer? Some of the thing you get can easily be printed.
I have the handheld Fantikk car vac. Many car detailers love that one but it doesn't blow air
You got me with booty panel
I had no idea you were a gun dude. Very nice.
its an Airsoft, but its still a nice touch to have that there.
@@wolfwilkopter2231 thanks for the clarification
@@TheLinkhawkins NP, you're welcome. :)
put lego flowers up there!
I wanna get that CORSAIR desk with the backplate, but I dont have enough room or $ right now lol
Kyle got a gun 🎶
The light bar for the monitor is admittedly the thing i wish i did years ago. I thought they were stupid now i have one on every setup in the house.
yeah i have one from OOWolf or how they are called and i dont want to miss it, directly connected to the monitors hub, improves not only the lighting, but gives the monitor (S2721DGFA) a slight contrast edge imho.
New girlfriend ? Hooray, what a joyous day :D Sooo happy for you my man
Saw you had a Stream Deck+
Don't know if you knew or not but they just released a USB hub attachment for the back of it that also has a built in SD and Micro SD card reader.
Might be a good way to help minimize the amount of things you need to plug in~
For me the biggest upgrade to my setup was the usb hub as I'm always connecting peripherals or just wanting to charge something lol
Get a under couch subwoofer. They are also wall mountable and cpuld be mounted on the wall under the desk. I have a 2.1 setup. 70 watt bookshelf speakers with a 50 watt amp then an under couch sub with its own built in amp. The setup sounda super clean.
Bro corsair sponsored your whole life💀💀
I added a Sabrent powered 4-port USB hub to the back of my monitor running it through one of the monitor’s ports.
Oooh smart. I might steal this idea because my monitor USB ports, while mostly used for dongles & slower flash drives, are all awkward to get at
@@Collin_J feel free. Yeah, the older monitors also don’t have KVM functionality either, so their ports don’t really work for your KB/mouse either. Monitor USB ports are inconvenient as heck most times.
I need that fingerprint reader
Get a hydroponic skunk weed for top of PC or a Pothos that sits on your desk and creeps in void below behind the monitor at back of desk.
W setup Kyle!!!
Great stuff man! Looking to upgrade my stuff, and hope to have a his and hers with my girlfriend later down the road.
I have that Pikachu sound as my message alert and it totally fooled me 😢
Man. I love my wife and kids more than anything, but i sure do miss my younger years of being single and just decking out my gaming area. Maybe when i retire and a empty nester i can go back.
WoW - fast alle Artikel habe ich seit Jahren im Einsatz, gerade den USB-Hub mit RJ45.
