I've always liked these guys, but ya know I never thought of them as underrated. It's not hard to see why they didn't keep up with cream. Decent band, but far from great.
There was a DJ here in San Antonio in the 80s, Joe Anthony, he played these guys like crazy. I saw them @ La Samana. Awesome band. What a blast from the past!
I learned about Killer Dwarfs back in the 80's from a movie...The Movie was called The Gate its about little Demons coming out of the ground and Hell taking over Earth and a Kid and his friend and sister have to stop it from happening. The main character is played by Stephen Dorff and his friend has a back patch on his Jean Jacket that says Killer Dwarfs so I went and checked them out and was like...wow this band kicks ass.
This is why I have a place in my heart for youtube. I was watching some Stephen Pearcy with Arcade. Over in the sidebar there was a recommendation for this video. WIN!!! Sometimes the algorithm works.
Me and my bro drank a few with these boys In Birmingham UK back in the day when they were supporting Iron Maiden on the Powerslave tour I think. Top lads

The Dwarfs are still rocking...playing tomorrow night Nov. 10 at the Music Hall in Oshawa. We used to love partying with Russ & Darryl at the infamous Sherwood Forest Inn in Trenton, ON back in the 80's.My good pal Gerald VooDoo McLaughlin was their soundman and now is an airbrush artist extraordinaire.Keep rocking Dwarfs !!
truest statement I've EVER heard on youtube. absolutely true. this and the song "nightsongs" by Cinderella. absolute best of the guitar heroes era. sad how it died w nirvanna oh well, legendary
Agreed !! But let me tell you something , did you know there´s an underground scene growing for this kind of music? There are tons of bands with this sound and looks mostly started by kids who are from 16 to 28 and they´re KILLER live, i thought it was all lost but let´s wait and see :)
They were not a priority for their record label. That's why they didn't get bigger. The record company signed them but didn't do much to promote them. Any lack of success has nothing to do with Riki Rachtman - he did not pick the videos for HBB. He was just the host. Another factor working against them may have been that they were too heavy for radio and didn't have that "pretty boy" image that was all the rage at the time.
Because Megadeth released some of the best damn metal albums ever made that's how. Killer Dwarfs were just a good band in a sea of bands, that's why they didn't make it big. This type of metal just lost it's flavor with metal fans who were hungry for thrash metal, and then Death metal. Once grunge became the next flavor it was over for this band. Plus Canadian metal bands in general had/have a hard time gaining success. Razor even wrote a song about how hard it is being a Canadian metal band called "American Luck". Even Canadian metal bands like Voivod and Annihilator had to go overseas to find their fanbase. Annihilator doesn't even play in Canada. Not one single Canadian metal band made it really big and that goes for Killer Dwarfs, Helix, Annihilator, Razor, Voivod, Sacrifice, Exciter etc.
Other than Canada, pretty well impossible to get the US radio stations to play their tunes in order to make that successful breakthrough in the North American market. Unfortunately, the same fate experienced by many other talented Canadian bands.
Saw them in a club in New Rochelle, NY called STREETS, ALL WELL KNOW BANDS PLAYED THERE. I TOOK 📸 PICTURES OF MAJOR ACTS THAT PLAYED THAT CLUB. I AM A PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER. TOOK ALL MY HUSBAND BAND PHOTOS AND PRESS PACKAGES TOGETHER BACK IN THE 80S. MY HUSBAND BAND PLAYED AT STREETS ROCK CLUB TWICE. PAT WAS GREAT AND TOOK CARE OF EVERYTHING. HE WAS THE PROMOTER AT THE CLUB.
Sometime way back when...Had never heard of them...backed-up either Scorpions or Michael Schenker at the Uptown theater, Chicago...walked away a fan!! Really great band!!!
They opened for MSG at The Vic, 4/12/1990. Did you attend the show when the Dwarfs' singer dove above the audience to crowd surf and they all backed up? He fell on the floor, but came back and finished the show. The audience also grabbed the microphone off the stand when McAuley swung it out.
@@ChicagoGirlStuckSW I can't recall that...but I do remember that I was blown away...I was really shocked that I hadn't heard of them before... anyway I listen to them weekly... really like 'em!!!
robbie veinot Ahhh fuck that. These guys put out a few good songs on each cd and were never consistent. But the one csd that everyone else puts down as being mediocre... their last one "Method To The Madness" is clearly the iconic leap of quality that they never made on any other album. I I would say their last and their first were truly their best. If only they made all their albums like "Method" then I'd be a huge Daniel bryan errr dwarfers fan...

The Killers Dwarfs are the worlds biggest unknown rock band.
I remember they had to compete with the likes of Joe Satch and Surfing with the Alien..., they stood up to the plate and kicked ass w/ Stand Tall...
They were definitely overlooked back in the 80’sand 90’s.. Killer band, killer voice! Hence Killer Dwarfs!! Thanks for all the great tunes boys!!
They should have dropped the goofy dwarf gimmick and been more serious and they would have taken off.
I saw them open for L. A.Guns in 2017....they're really good!! I'm in Denver.
Very underrated Canadian band. They put out some awesome music.

Same here. But I'm not really into Glam Metal. I prefer death metal.
I’m only here cause of the kids jacket in the movie “the gate”. Thanks for having me
