Yes, It’s obvious that children are persons, but I know I have regrettably wasted so much time trying to mold my child into the person I wanted her to be. I have learned so much about my child and love the person the Lord has created her to be. ❤️
I wonder if you have ever heard of Neuro-Semantic Language Theory? I was taught this as a special education teacher. I am currently doing Charlotte Mason homeschool because it reminds me of so much that I learned while learning about NSLT.
You're very welcome! Here are some more resources for the early years. simplycharlottemason.com/product-links-tips-info/the-early-years-links-and-tips/
When I first learned this value, it monumentally changed our home school and the way I parent! Having a child with dyslexia made it have even more impact. It’s also the first place I return to when our homeschool days go awry, and it’s usually because I’ve forgotten this principle. Thank you for sharing 😊
God bless you for thinking of making this series. God created each one of our children to be unique persons with unique traits and we need to value that the most!
I will have to rewatch and reread about the core values almost weekly so that I can stay focused properly. CMs principles are timeless and true. Thank you for these videos, they are such an encouragement to keep on going.
Are you familiar with the writings of Ella Frances Lynch? For me, Charlotte Mason's writing with a lot of information but not enough direct instruction. I was reading Bookless Lessons for The Mother Teacher by the aforementioned author and wow. It's everything I was looking for. She was also an educator born after Charlotte.
I had to listen to the point at 1320 in the video about 5 times before I caught it. Maybe my relationship to ideas here are odd, but it just seems weird to me to question someone's value based on a test. I really need to think on it more. I can think of examples of it from life, but my folks always told me I was brilliant. Maybe the rest of the tour will help me frame the idea better. Thank you for the content it has helped our family a lot.
We must ALL have a fun story like that of the bird - jam. When I was pregnant with our 5th My kindergartner ran from the table during math and stated that I better take her to the dr bc she was going to have a baby. When she came back I asked why she thought she was having a baby. She said, “It is only 11:00, and that was my third pee today!” She could count and tell time, Reasoning was lacking a little. -Danya
It is actually two autobiographical picture books by the talented author and illustrator, Allen Say: Drawing from Memory and The Inker's Shadow. The books demonstrate how he struggled, rallied with help from other people, persevered, and overcame.
Please help me understand how to support my child. My child has ADHD and attends a school based on the Charlotte Mason philosophy. How can I help my child concentrate in a classroom with 10 children?
Hi, Here are a few helpful resources related specifically to ADHD as well as setting children up for success in their surroundings. It would be wonderful as you mention that he is in a school setting if you were able to sit down with his teacher and discuss some strategies that would be helpful for him. We are not set up to diagnose or give medical advice, however if you have a report from a provider who diagnosed your child or ongoing support from them, perhaps they also would be able to share some tips and supports with you and/or directly with the teacher as they have met your individual child and are aware of his specific strengths and weaknesses. As I am preparing our homeschool journey, this value is one I want to have a visual reminder of daily. This is brilliant, the seed has been planted.
Such a beautiful perspective!
Thank you, my daughters are 2 & 3 yo and we're strongly considering homeschooling. I am in love with the Charlotte Mason approach.

Would you mind giving the reference for the biography you mentioned?
