    I never really memorized Bibleverses. But this idea spoke to me. I made my own box. And I just love it! In June I memorized about 11 parts of scripture, 1 up to 4 verses each. Thanks for the inspiration, I will pass it on!

These boxes were previously available for purchase, however they are currently out of stock as the family who was previously making them for SCM is no longer able to do so! We are in the process of securing another supplier for these boxes and hope to have them back in stock in the future!

    I don’t get the even and odd index. 😢please i want to learn more how it is done. For example i’d memorize the verse daily how will I categorized it if it is odd or even?

    • @HisAncientWays
      @HisAncientWays Рік тому +1

      The even and odd category is separate from the daily card. It's linked to the date and whether its an odd or even number. So today is Wednesday July 19....19 is an odd number. So I would recite the odd card, the Wednesday card, the 19 card and of course I would practice the daily card I'm currently memorizing. Tomorrow is Thursday the 20th. 20 is an even number so I would practice the daily card and recite the even card, the Thursday card and the 20 card. Hope this helps.

    • @SimplyCharlotteMason
      @SimplyCharlotteMason  Рік тому

      Hi, Thank you for reaching out with your question. The "daily card" is the new verse that you have not yet memorized. You work on this until it is memorized and then it would be moved back to either even or odd. If you are working on your first verse, you will only have a verse behind "daily" and only once you have memorized a couple will the tabs with "even" and "odd" have cards behind them. I hope that you are enjoying the scripture memory system!

    Thank you so much for sharing a free downloadable copy of all of the verses! I am so, so very grateful!!! I am still anxious about which translation to use and I have been mulling over it for a long time. I love KJV, which is the translation that my husband and I have memorized a great deal of scripture from, but my kiddos are so young and would benefit from ESV. Yet, if they memorize the KJV, I believe that they will eventually start understanding this "new language." So this is my question...Have you found (or have other parents shared with you) that learning both versions might be too confusing for them? Or would you advise just to go with one version? tyia

    • @SimplyCharlotteMason
      @SimplyCharlotteMason  5 років тому +1

      We would advise selecting one version per verse. It's okay to use different versions for different verses if you like. Sonya mentions doing that in this video.

      Thank you for the response. Sigh. Now to decide which version to use. I know the Lord will bless regardless, but this is harder (for me) than buying a house! Blessings to you and thank you for all that you are doing!

      Hi Jodie Hardin
      I prayed that your children will be saved and sanctified in the truth, as well as you.
      My husband and I are saved (born again) Christians. Jesus said, “Ye must be born again.” John 3:3-7). We used to read the ESV, but no longer because it is corrupt.
      After praying, “where is your truth?” to our LORD Jesus Christ... He answered. He showed us Psalm 12:6-7 in the Holy King James Bible: “The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.”
      That means God has preserved His pure words for us and for every generation in the future! (That includes your kids).
      “Where the word of a king is, there is power: and who may say unto him, What doest thou?” Ecclesiastes 8:4 KJB
      Have you ever used an app for side-by-side comparison to see the deceptive errors in corrupt “bible” manuscripts? They bring down the deity of Christ and they’re full of errors! Whereas the King James Bible exalts Christ and has not one error. For example, Colossians 1:14 KJB states, “In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:”
      The same verse in the English Standard Version (ESV) leaves out the BLOOD of Christ! It states: “in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.”
      “Therefore I esteem all thy precepts concerning all things to be right; and I hate every false way.” Psalm 119:128 KJB
      “Rivers of waters run down mine eyes, because they keep not thy law.” Psalm 119:136 KJB
      Many proponents of this point of view hold to the King James Bible because there’s not one error in it.
      “The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.” Psalm 119:130 KJB
      Not to mention, after we committed to reading the King James Bible (Authorized 1611), God blessed our obedience. The good LORD brought us under the preaching of Aaron Gehlken by leading us to Central Baptist Church of Orange County (California). It is there that we learned from the Bible that God’s word is inerrant, inspired and preserved by Him in the Authorized KJB. The so-called different “versions” of the Scriptures are full of errors. And if you choose not to search it out yourself by reading the whole Bible, you can look up books on this subject by Sam Gipp, Peter Ruckman, etc.
      Lastly, you might ask, what about people in other countries besides ours? What Bible did God preserve for them? Bible translations in other languages ought to be, and have been, translated from the English language King James Bible because as in Psalm 12:6-7, God preserved His words. By the way, English is today’s predominant world language. Remember that in the past, God made sure to have his book rewritten by scribes (read the book of the prophet of Jeremiah chapter 37 in the Old Testament, specifically verses 27-28 of chapter 37). Therefore, God has used His right to take the Scriptures from Hebrew to Greek to English. - He’s the author. God published His words in English in the 15th century.
      Again, be sure that YOU are saved... read the gospel of the grace of God in First Corinthians 15:3-4.
      For a beginner’s further study on your own, read:
      Acts 8:37 “And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.” KJB.
      The above verse is missing and/or footnoted in modern “bibles” such as the ESV and NIV.
      Would you accept lies or inaccuracies in your “bible”?
      Christian, are you saved or are you being saved?
      “For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.” 1 Corinthians 1:18 KJB
      In the ESV, it states “... being saved.” Ask yourself this question: Are you saved or are you being saved? If you’re “being saved” then that implies that the salvation of your soul is an ongoing process. The King James Bible doesn’t imply that. If you are saved, it means that you received the free gift of salvation by believing on the Son of God who’s sinless blood cleansed you from all unrighteousness when he took the punishment for your sins on the cross at Calvary.
      “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9 KJB.
      After someone is saved, then there’s a process called sanctification. Don’t get sanctification confused with salvation.
      The gospel of the grace of God is found in First Corinthians 15:3-4.
      Here are the verses in context starting from the first verse through the fourth verse:
      ‘1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
      2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
      3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
      4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:’
      God shows you in the Holy Bible that you can KNOW that you have eternal life if you believe on His Son. First John 5:13 (KJB):
      “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.”
      Also, watch out for people who are relying on the scholarship of men in order to convince you that the modern versions are the best and easier to read. The God of the Holy Bible does not want us to be fooled. It’s not a battle of good versus evil, it’s about truth versus error. Our battle is against the principalities and powers that underly the corrupt bibles.
      18 “For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
      19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.” Revelation 22:18 KJB.

      @@justinesneddongutierrez5243 when I researched this matter several years ago, I was ALMOST convinced about what you said about newer versions removing the deity of Christ and the KJV. However, someone pointed out to me that it could have gone the other direction. Instead of newer versions removing the deity of Christ, KJV has stuff that was ADDED at some point for clarification or other reasons. Newer versions DO affirm the deity of Christ in less explicit ways, but they are truer to the original Greek manuscripts.
      Also, in the passage you mentioned in Revelation, KJV says "book of life" but the original Greek manuscripts say "tree of life." If KJV is incorrect in this matter, why should we assume it uniquely and supernaturally preserves scripture in other verses?

      Just one card behind the Daily divider. It's the one new verse you're learning now. Once you are able to recite the verse behind Daily without looking at the card, it's time to move it back and put a new verse card behind Daily.

      You will just simply place your memorized verse behind the next available numbered day tab. It doesn't have to be anything too rigid in the way you move and sort the cards you've already learned. The goal is to simply be memorizing and recalling Scriptures on a regular basis so feel freedom to move the verses around as needed and to get the days of the week, odd/even, and numbered days filled with the verses you are memorizing. Let me know any other questions you have!

    • @SimplyCharlotteMason
      @SimplyCharlotteMason  Рік тому

      Hi, Great question. We would recommend that you just review the verses for the days that occur in that month. For that reason, it is recommended that you put the verses that you know better behind the tab labeled 31, as you will not review them as frequently, given that not all months have that many days. You can read more about that at the end of the post below.

    I have a 7 year old son and a 4 year old daughter. My son masters scriptures much faster than my daughter. Should I wait until my 4 year old can completely recite the scripture before moving on? I don’t know if I would be expecting too much from her?

    • @SimplyCharlotteMason
      @SimplyCharlotteMason  3 роки тому

      Great question! There are a couple ways to think about this. One would be that since Charlotte Mason advocated for no formal lessons for children under 6 years old, you could just let your 4-year-old come along for the ride as she wants to and move on at your son's pace.
      Another way to look at it would be that this is an opportunity for your older child to learn to be patient with his younger sister, showing her honor in waiting to move on until she's ready.
      From my own experience (Jordan here answering for the SCM team), my wife and I have a 3-year-old and a 5-year-old participating in Scripture memory with this system. We've recently decided to wait to move on until both our children can recite the verse or passage, after noticing that our 3-year-old isn't able to join in for the older verses in the monthly slots that we moved on before she had them memorized. We decided it's more of a priority for our family to make sure both our children are memorizing God's Word than it is to have a full box and move on more quickly. :-)
