Crystal Clear is an amazing hack... The starter options, the ability to fight normally difficult trainers early, only to leave like...Falkner to the end and he has all the Legendary Birds....That was a fun playthrough with my Porygon starter...
I think what I like most about this hack is how relaxed it is. There's no one way to "beat" the game. Perfect for killing an hour or two here and there :)
I really do like this romhack and the creator, Shockslayer, definitely put a lot of hard work into making it. The only thing I wished is that he was a little bit more open and grateful to the open source community that he forked the source code from. In case you're unaware, he has a bit of a reputation for taking other's open source work, contriving his own features, and then refuses to share any of his findings back to the community (like Pokemon following the player). He is _technically_ within his right to not share if he doesn't want, but it's just a bit of a dick move to happily take from others but not give in return. Not to mention he has things like a patreon and donation systems set up, which in any other context I'd be 100% for a developer getting monetary returns for their work, but you know how Nintendo can get when it comes to any fanmade projects of their IPs, whether money's involved or not. Add money to the mix and that's only going to fan the smoke higher, which again a lot of people in the open source community aren't happy about since they don't want their work to be in vain if/when Nintendo decides to come crashing down. I dunno, like I said I really like the romhack and I think Shockslayer did put a lot of genuine love and hard work into it, but it's just a shame that he comes off disrespectful to the rest of the community that made it possible to begin with.
Might sound weird, and I really don't know... But he likely wants it all to be perfected before he releases it. The implication here being that maybe the roms still partially unstable? I wouldn't know though...

Crystal clear is what Gamefreak could have made if the platform could've handled it and if it truly would have been the last Pokemon game. I realize now that I have the dinosaur version of this game they really did well with this version.

I don't watch your content regularly. I randomly started watching speed run content when I stumbled upon one of your blue speed runs. I believe this was after the point in time where you were struggling with health issues and your hands. I just want to say. Although you can't physically do speed runs in glad to see that you're pursuing something else. I know how hard it can be to move onto doing something different when there's something you want to do more but can't. Life is full of changes and although learning to appreciate and live with those changes isn't an easy thing to do, it is very freeing in my opinion. You aren't constrained to any one thing, regardless of how good you are at it. I get the impression there are tons of people who care about you and watch your streams not just because they like the speed running but because they genuinely watch just for you. And would do so regardless of what you choose to do. I think the biggest secret I've learned to being happy is that it really is a choice. It's the choice whether or not you give the mental capacity to whatever it is that is making you unhappy or put that mental energy towards something else. As for the health issues. Do not take no for an answer. If you have the means keep looking for an answer. I have had sciatica issues since I was 23 years old. I saw multiple chiropractors and refused surgery because to me that was the last resort and would result in doing something irreversible to my body. I finally found a chiropractor that listened to what I had to say and took a different approach and has vastly improved my sciatica and will hopefully have it remedied. May I suggest looking into Dr. Rahim (he has a UA-cam channel and has helped tons of people with wide varieties of issues). Enjoy your time hacks and whatever changes may come in your life.
What’s amazing is that he kept compatibility in mind. You can use the Pokémon caught in crystal clear on stadium. You can transfer the save to the 3ds virtual console and even bring your team up to home. Shiny hunting in this hack is probably my favorite thing.

You've yee'd your last haw!! 😂🤣 Light Ball literally only works on Pikachu. It doesn't even work on Pichu, but it's nice that it still comes with it. Also, fainting lowers the Happiness rating, though literally by 1 unless the enemy's level is 30 or higher, or if it faints outside of battle.
I love this game, it kinda hard to describe because it felt kinda easy? You totally expect every Gym Leader, and can prepare any way you want in a Nuzlocke setting or just normally obviously, but I first played this as a normal run, and it was hecka fun. I'm going to have fun watching this, binge time! Edit: I just realized that my version is very old apparently, damn, why am I so out of the loop with everything? Yours is way better!
Absolutely loved this ROM hack, by far my favourite as Crystal always was my favourite game. Only thing I wished for was a bit more story line in the start of the game like with Eusine and Mew/Mewtwo later in the game. Would feel like there's more of a "puprose" in the game then IMO
You can actually use ANY Trainer sprite you want - the discord even has fan-made custom sprites that you can use for yourself, you just need to upload the .png to the online patcher on the website and it'll patch your game with the custom sprite!
FYI gunner was REALLY SMART getting misty n Janine out the way immediately I would definitely knock out misty immediately as she gets super scary late Janine is literally a nightmare late too as she uses 2 gengar Blue, morty pryce falkner sabrina n Clair would be mid game candidates Last ones definitely Jasmine n whitney as both are quite easy late game The rest you can kinda do whenever I am glad gunner did misty n Janine as both those late game are terrifying

The first time I saw Slugma in gen 3 I actually thought it was a gen 3 Pokémon! Maybe because I‘ve never seen it in Pokémon Silver. I think it only appears in a short, random route in Kanto, that makes it easy to overlook.
..I'm still thinking that and I'm playing Heartgold (forgot if it's exclusive). A heap of new Pokemon were put on one grass patch or low catch rates, like they're all Feebas. Johto was too infested by Rattata, Tentacool and Zubat to stand on it's own.
Yeah, you can pick Eevee as a starter, start in goldenrod, get the Eevee there, bullet train to saffron (I believe) in kanto, walk to celadon and get the Eevee there also. Can start celadon and get goldenrod 2nd if you rather.
I was actually really impressed with the hack until I got to the League and found that creator replaced the Elite Four with OCs and self-inserted himself as Champion, which I thought to be really lame.
