Henry Ford applied for and received permission to build the B-24. He built a plant from the ground up at Willow Run in Michigan. The plant was one of the largest of its kind when it opened. They started building Libs shortly after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. The Ford plant began with a production rate of one plane a day. By 1943, the Ford plant was turning out one plane an hour, 24 planes a day! Ford had a warehouse system so extensive, they could build one thousand bombers without receiving another supply shipment. Finally, using assembly line methods. There were 100 bombers in various stages of assembly, marching through the factory at any given time.
Man I wish they still made this kit. I had one years ago and always wanted another one since mine didn't survive a cross country move. Lol Great looking build...
Good video, my dad flew the D and the J in combat with the 376th. Got two engines shot out over Vienna. One critique is double check your colors, not all interior colors were green chromate. Not picking, just sayin. Back in the 70's and 80's many of us made that mistake. Love the cause too.
Dont get me wrong , your model building is great , commentary as you build would be helpful . Such as what brushes you use and why , different glues , paint mixture....you know . The music is distracting and turning it down makes your vid boring . You're clearly a talented guy , let's hear your thoughts as you build , that's all. It would be awesome
@@kimconrad3008 I'm on it freind! Yes I'm working on redoing all of my videos, even doing the decale history of each on, I'm just held up working 14 hours 7 days a week right now and can't do it right now. But I have 2 airplanes I've done now you can check those ones out and see if you like those better. But seriously I appreciate your comments and really hope you continue watching! I just love this hobby so much and hope you do too
My grandfather was a radioman/gunner in a B24 in WWII, been wanting to build one of these models for ages. Amazing work!

I remember the fire that destroyed one of the remaining hangars 20 years ago. We didn't know if the museum would open again.

The model is good. The music is bad.
PLEASE! The hokus pokus nonesence can be left out!!! Just stick to the facts of the build! My opinion of course!
