The ammunition on the zumawalt calls wasn't a railgun round but a round accelerated with its own thrust after leaving the barrel which made it so expensive. Thats why the navy is looking into using railguns as a replacement. If we continue to make claims and counterclaims I would suggest using sources to prove your point.

In the movie, the projectile went through the Decepticon like it wasn't even there. The Decepticon then proceeded to literally fall to pieces. This is probably the most realistic scene in the entire movie.

I like how there is a clear progression in the transformers movies on how humans tech and strategy quickly catches up to destroy them. Railgun requires a lot of energy which is probably why it's a prototype and it only fired 1 shot. A destroyer just doesn't output enough energy for a second shot.

That was his whole story arc in DOTM, he tried multiple times but the government turned him down labeling him as an amateur. By the end of the movie he just ditches all of that and just focus on his relationship with Carly.

The railgun bares striking similarity to Halo reaches Onager MAC gun which also charges up and utilises electromagnets to fire a projectile at supersonic speeds. The design is extremely similar too and both are railguns.

A few nitpicking: The USN no longer operate any Battleships The Railgun is supposed to be mounted on the DDG-1000 USS-Zumwalt Captain Wilder implies that the USS Kidd (DDG-100) from the Arleigh Burke class has the rail guns mounted on it However, it was the USS Preble (DDG-88) that had the rail guns, not the Kidd. It also shows how REALLY weak the Decepticons are without the Railgun. A few airstrikes and naval bombardment (via Cruise missiles) is all what's needed. No need for an amphibious landing force. They just need a drone for spotting.
If you notice, the ship that actually fires the railgun in the movie is the Preble. Check the "88" on the bow. Minor details aside, at least that part is correct, though it's clearly CGI, and looks nothing like current railguns. Also, my old man served on a "kidd", DDG 993, for years before she was sold to Egypt.

Transformers are much more powerful in the comics and old tv show. I swear megatron was hit by a weapon called a "kinetic harpoon" with "more destructive power than a tactical nuke" and when he walks up to optimus, he says "I must admit, that did hurt" then basically wrecks optimus and carries him to an autobot base.

Railgun requires a lot of energy which is probably why it's a prototype and it only fired 1 shot. A destroyer just doesn't output enough energy for a second shot.

I keep asking myself, how does Sam not have a special military or government commission to be a liaison with the Autobots. He has good relations and has been in every fireball the military has where the autobots are involved. Even with his age being a factor, these are special circumstances with no prior precedence.

That was his whole story arc in DOTM, he tried multiple times but the government turned him down labeling him as an amateur. By the end of the movie he just ditches all of that and just focus on his relationship with Carly.

The railgun bares striking similarity to Halo reaches Onager MAC gun which also charges up and utilises electromagnets to fire a projectile at supersonic speeds. The design is extremely similar too and both are railguns.
One A-10 would have done the job cheaper.

A few nitpicking:
The USN no longer operate any Battleships
The Railgun is supposed to be mounted on the DDG-1000 USS-Zumwalt
Captain Wilder implies that the USS Kidd (DDG-100) from the Arleigh Burke class has the rail guns mounted on it
However, it was the USS Preble (DDG-88) that had the rail guns, not the Kidd.
It also shows how REALLY weak the Decepticons are without the Railgun. A few airstrikes and naval bombardment (via Cruise missiles) is all what's needed. No need for an amphibious landing force. They just need a drone for spotting.
He did say contact destroyer, not battleship.

Simmons does say "Battlleship" in 1:35 though, but I guess he's generalizing ships.
Don't assume ship classes
If you notice, the ship that actually fires the railgun in the movie is the Preble. Check the "88" on the bow. Minor details aside, at least that part is correct, though it's clearly CGI, and looks nothing like current railguns.
Also, my old man served on a "kidd", DDG 993, for years before she was sold to Egypt.
If you pay attention to the first scene of the destroyer, you can see that there is no rail gun in the front but a normal cannon.
